Absolutely love this property! Great staycation spot.

Property is a quaint property right in the middle of town. It is very clean and perfect if you’re visiting Cary . One negative was their claim to have a delicious Sunday brunch, but our experience was that the brunch was just average at best.

Had an absolutely amazing time, enjoyed sitting on the porch having a drink in the evening. This was place is perfect!!!!!

It was a nice time. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and I liked the art in the hallways. Also it was really nice to have safe and accessible self parking right on main street just outside the hotel. This is a very safe and good area to visit.

Wonderful place walking distance to everything downtown, only complaint is no parking, you have to find a spot on street or around corner in a parking garage which may not work for everybody, we managed it fine.

Great vibe — elegant and cozy (but not stuffy). The hotel location drew us and did not disappoint. The Downtown Cary Park is easily accessible! Also walked to restaurants a few blocks away.

A friend of the family indicated a couple months prior that they were staying there in this hotel, so my brother's family, my sister, and I booked rooms at your hotel as well. We did not realize until arrival that this hotel had cancelled their handicap room reservation a few days prior to their arrival, seemingly because this hotel had gotten a longer stay from another handicap guest, which overlapped our family friend's reservation. They had to scramble to find another hotel with a handicap room on a few days' notice. So, this hotel got three other double rooms booked because of them, but yet this hotel despicably cancelled their reservation. We were all there for a family wedding, and so now everyone knows to avoid booking rooms at this hotel.

Beautiful facility. Tasteful decor. Friendly, helpful staff. The pancakes in their restaurant were the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend. Difficulty controlling temperature.

We enjoyed the festive downtown Cary and The Mayton was also a cozy and merry stay! The lobby was beautiful and though the bar was closed for a private event, we were still able to get a drink and have it in the lobby by the fire.

The location was excellent. The staff was attentive and polite. The bed was very comfortable. This was not a 4 star experience. There was no valet service or many dedicated parking spots. There was no turn down service.

There was an event going on that blocked all streets around the hotel. A gentleman called a couple of days before and informed us and told us to call when we got here and they would tell us how to park at the hotel. Well we did and the woman at the front desk told us she didn't kniw anything and maybe we could park at the library and walk. Unacceptable.

Breakfast was very good but pricey. The location was excellent. We were able to walk to everything we needed. It's a beautiful hotel with great staff! The only complaint we really have is that we couldn't control the thermostat and the noisy air conditioning ran all night keeping us awake because of the noise and it blowing directly on us.

The rooms themselves feel slightly unfinished in terms of furnishings, but they are always clean and spacious. Some rooms can get a bit noisy at night if the bar is open, but the rooms come equipped with built in sound machines which was really useful to dull the outside noise. Overall, we would stay again!

So sweet, loved the hotel. The prices were a tad high

The location of the hotel couldn't be better. Just adjacent to the park and truly in the center of Downtown Cary, which is extremely walkable and full of gems - check out the breweries, local theater, or great restaurants. Using the wall space within the hotel's lobbies and walkways to display local artists' work was a fantastically homey touch. The room was comfortable, spacious, and tastefully designed. If you're an architecture person, you'll enjoy the structure itself with its Greek Revival/Georgian style. If you're a bar patron like myself, be aware that their bar is going to be slammed during the weekend lunch hour. Nothing a little patience can't overcome.

I was a little worried about parking. But, complimentary parking was available across the street, not a parking garage like I first read. The room and bed was comfortable! Peck and Plume restaurant was excellent, which was located downstairs. We grabbed the Mayton Burger for dinner on their outside dining. The new State of The Art Park in Cary is a minute walk, perfect for families!!!!!

I thought this must be a southern thing except when we Stayed on Campus at Clemson and asked for bottles of water with no maid service the person behind the desk said I will go get you some how many do you need. Big bottles with The Hotels name on them. I said we could wait for the maid to come up. We were given 3 bottles of water and led to believe if we needed more it would not be a problem. Parked our rental 10-20 steps from the front door!

I had to wait 20 minutes to check in because the man at the desk was on the phone. I was then told that the restaurant and bar would not be opens. I had been counting on meeting family there for drinks, but had to figure out a new plan. I wish I had know before booking. Then when I get to the room, for the price, it was not anything special. No robes as advertised. The thermostat was on at 80 degrees (it was a very warm day out in NC); however, there was no way to change the temp, definitely no a/c and I couldn’t open the windows. When asked about the temp, the rude person at the desk said there was no way to change it. To top it all off, there was a company party there and the band was extremely loud, even the room was shaking from the booming. I had to call the town of Cary due to noise ordinance since it was 10pm. Overall, I would say, definitely stay somewhere else, especially if you are planning to have a nice relaxing visit.

We love Cary and the Mayton is the most perfect hotel! We honeymooned there 5 years ago and have made it a tradition to come back every year! We are now the grateful yet exhausted parents of 2 wonderful babies and the Mayton was the perfect location for us to get a little break and relax. It’s quiet, super clean, and beautiful! Will definitely be back again!

You may want to look into those sort of negative comments. It is a drawback, especially when guests have baggage.

The surrounding area is wonderful. Walkable to great shopping and restaurants. The staff was fabulous. The lobby and entrance of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. However, the rooms are very disappointing. No photos or art on the wall, no full length mirror, not even a headboard for the bed. Just blah

Absolutely beautiful hotel! The hotel staff are some of the friendliest I’ve ever dealt with. What a beautiful small town!

Clean facility. Friendly staff. There isn’t a whole lot of parking available. So you have to park on the street or in public parking and walk.

We can’t wait to go back for another staycation. I haven’t been this relaxed in years.

This stay wasnt as good as last time. Room 315 was hot and cramped versus room 304, and bed wasnt as comfortable.

The staff at this hotel was very friendly and accommodating. We will stay with them again. The onsite parking is limited but the public parking lot across the road is convenient, safe and well-lit.

Lovely hotel in Cary near the new park with lots of dining and activities. Cool area and easily walkable from the hotel. Hótel was the perfect example of southern charm. Service was top notch and the room was very comfortable.

The room is not like what it appears on pictures. There are no art works at all on the wall, and even no head board for beds. Front desk explained that was because of the renovation going on. But no updated information on website. And the room rate is still so high. It's not worth it. Will not stay here next time.

The property is beautiful and in a great location but over-priced considering there are virtually no amenities offered. The restaurant and bar were closed the evening we were there so that was disappointing.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and we loved it! Our room was so beautiful and very romantic. It was very clean with a super comfortable king bed and a big soaker tub in the bathroom. There is some construction going on but we were forewarned about that several times and they quit by 5pm so it wasn't bothersome. I would definitely stay again!

nice property - very nice staff - one of the few upscale hotels in the Cary area. Did not have on-site parking in a very crowded area - major problem because there is a popular park next to the property. Lights next to beds could not be turned off/on individually - inconvenient and poorly designed.

Very nice place in a very nice neighborhood

This is a really nice hotel in a lovely town. The staff was very attentive and helpful, and the room was fine. We ate a few meals at the restaurant and at the bar, and the food was very well prepared and presented.

Quaint, comfortable and quiet. Short, quick stay but we will be back.

The Mayton is such a beautiful Inn, and their staff are amazing! I highly recommend the Mayton.

Beautiful setting in downtown Cary))))

Parents stayed for their anniversary - hotel and staff were fantastic. Great room, restaurant was top notch, and the staff was very friendly.

Centrally located in Cary. Lovely property. Room a bit austere. Parking an issue although we found close by spots in area across the street.

We loved our stay, the Christmas decorations lining Academy Street. The new park is right next door. There are so many dining options that are walkable from The Mayton. We were even given 2 complimentary drinks at the bar. It was beautifully decorated and the fire place on in the love lobby was a very comfortable and cozy place to enjoy a drink!

We always stay at The Mayton when visiting Raleigh and are never disappointed.

Great location….cool hotel/tons of character

We stay here 2-3x/yr and always VERY pleased, from check-in to check-out. Downtown Cary is a delight, especially during the holidays. Adjacent Downtown Park is a plus!

Had a great stay

The Hotel entrance is very nice and the staff was very helpful. Unfortunately, we weren't happy that there was no parking and that we had to put our car in a lot across the street where it could possibly get vandalized. The room was adequate but for the cost I had expected it to be bigger. Our bed made noise every time we moved. The toilet was not secured properly and felt like it was going to come off the floor. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast (which didn't open until 8am which seemed late to us). The omelets were awful. There was so much cheese that we peeled the egg off in order to eat it. My husband's breakfast came with grits that were seasoned for dinner and not breakfast. To add to this, the coffee was brown water. We did not return to the restaurant for any additional meals. Our accommodations were no better than the Double Tree (which was actually better). We would not recommend it especially since it is so much more expensive. Very disappointing.

Very nice property. Rooms are large but could use better more plush rugs to make it cozy. It’s a bit bare bones. Decent value for money fantastic location and good service.

Shower was too restrictIve no chance of shaving my legs in that thing, must’ve been designed by a man! Deluxe king size room, wonderfully spacious, more like suite.

This is such a unique property. Downtown Cary is super nice and very quaint. The room was nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

202 that had a living room w a nice desk, sofa and 2 wing chairs and coffee table, and a TV. Also had a mini kitchen area w microwave off the living room and bathroom. Huge bathroom w great old fashion tub and separate shower. I’m back in was a very large separate Bedroom w king bed and dresser w another TV and nice wing chair and tables. The decor is now funky modern which might not be my choice. The entire “apt” was painted a dark lavender w dark ebony hardwood floors. Even the molding was painted lavender. I’d prob decorate this like the old fashion Inn it once was but imagine your Hippy, artsy sister who graduated from Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn is now in charged of the decor. I really loved the sweet town of Cary - like Stars Hollow for those GG fans. Great coffee shops. I recommend Brew’s (around corner near the theater) wonderful Avocado Toast and fall spice latte. Also loved Serendipity for sandwiches with wonderful outdoor eating area. And the coffee and staff at Esteamed were wonderful (next door to Serendipity) and less than a block from Maydon. A very cool bakery Blue Moon in shops off a parking lot and a really nice antique store next door which has mostly jewelry, hats and China (not furniture). Cool furniture store w lots of gift items at The Perfect Piece - 2 blk from Brew (same side). Loved the town of Cary. Adorable!!
