Stonewood Inn & Suites Carrollton - Smithfield

It was a very reasonable place to stay at wasn’t perfect, but wasn’t bad either. Perfect for contractors working out out of town probably not what I would choose as get away Location for a couple.

The water pressure was good… there was no staff to be found, the hallways reeked of mold and something else like old bacon grease and marijuana. This place is like you wanted to sleep in your car, but not really. I would rather sleep in the woods on top of a jagged rock covered in poison ivy than stay here again. The keys only work part of the time and not on all the doors. If you need staff, you have to go to the office, call the number on the sign and wait for them to pick up, then wait for them to come to the office.

It was a last minute reservations on Memorial Day weekend and I was unable to find a place too stay last minute and luckily I was able too obtain a room ,the staff was great, and the price was very reasonable

I had car trouble and could not make it for my reservation. I do understand the cancellation policy however I had called the property several times over the course two days and could not get ahold of anyone. I even went as far as to message the hotel. No response. I’m sure they are going to charge my card. Just for the lack of communication I’m giving the lowest rating.

This was literally the worst hotel ive ever seen. Theres mold in every room and the "amenities" dont work. You're guaranteed to find stains on your bed and no matter what room you get it's the same. I asked for 2 and got the same 2 terrible results. Just trust the rest of the reviews. I cancelled my stay after how abysmal it was and DIDNT EVEN GET A REFUND. THIS PLACE BLOWS

Severely understaffed. Visited the front desk 6 times and was only able to talk to someone twice. Room was fine, but if you need anything you may have issues.

Well lit parking. Secure outer doors with electronic keys. No breakfast items, only coffee. A nice looking appearance from the road, but hides less than average former (current?) EconoLodge. Room appeared clean except awful stained and dirty looking bathtub. The faucet on the sink was about to come out of the bowl and the water pressure was quite low; often just a dribble. The beds were ok and the inside HVAC worked ok. Internet access is possible but very cumbersome to get an actual connection. The desk would have fallen in on loose and wobbly legs if I hadn't kept it pushed tightly against the wall. I was there 3 days and NEVER got trash service or fresh towels. No gym. No pool. The low price was probably a little high in terms of overall value. If you're on a budget, don't expect much.

Parking was okay, I had to take my dirty bedding to the front desk so they could be washed there is no housekeeping and the sink faucet was loose and water pressure was weak it took a long time to shave my son's face. I heard from locals that they are undergoing new management its just taking time to get where they need to be to be successful place.

Don’t judge a book or hotel by its cover. I was surprisingly impressed with the room and my experience. I will be frequenting it again. I would recommend to anyone that wants a decent clean room without breaking the bank.

The same man on duty came down again leaving the desk unattended, I know because another client came to ask him if there was anyone to check him out, as he was re-screwing the plate on the door thinking this was the door issue. He said some painter had just put the doors back up. After he returned to our room since the re-screwing of the plate did not fix the issue he said I thinks he just need to file the lock mechanism down a little. He returned with the filing done. 30 min after we had tried to leave for the day. This poor man!

The location was perfect for an event I was participating in. The room was clean and comfy. Some of the outlets were loose, so finding a charging plug that didn't find out took a few looks. The biggest issue was the smell of cigarette smoke near the entrances. I used the side entrance, and the smell hit me like a wall. I had to wait for the staff member, but he was very friendly and attentive. Other than that, it was a great stay. I look forward to returning! OH... and great shower pressure!

The room was dirty, pull out mattress was falling apart, this used to be where we would always stay when visiting family, however this was our last time. They supposedly only had a smoking room available even though I booked a non smoking room.

Rooms were relatively clean as where the grounds. Lawn is mowed nicely there was no debris or trash around but it's not a top-notch property. Overall I would stay there again based on my experience as there are very few options in this somewhat remote area.

This property should be closed down. I tried to get the reservation cancel but could not . They changed the name from Eco Lodge to Stonewood but it is still nasty hotel. The lobby has no AC and one employee that was present sometime. Expedia should ban this property from their website. The issues didn’t stop there. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable—stiff and springy, like sleeping on plywood. The only access to the second floor was via a stairway that was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar, with a noticeable musty and smoky odor throughout the building, including in the room itself. In-room amenities were no better. The hair dryer didn’t work (though a replacement was eventually provided), the towels were threadbare and barely absorbent, and the refrigerator was full of condensation with standing water inside—unable to keep even bottled water cool. As for the lobby, the coffee was cold and stale, and the powdered creamer clumped up due to the temperature—making it undrinkable. This hotel appears to be in rapid decline and is in desperate need of serious maintenance, cleaning, and upgrades. I would not recommend staying here until these major issues are addressed. The hotel did not have my booking through Expedia, but fortunately I had the reservation saved on my phone. Photos available upon request.

It was meh… I got the room especially because it had a hot tub. Of course it didn’t work. For the location, I thought better of the area! I won’t return. Save your money!

The doors that secure the hallway are broken anyone can access them. As soon as you walk into the room you smell a hot musty smell. The front end workers and his coworker promised i would get a refund but that I will have to go thru expedia. When I called 2 days later expedia told me the manager denied my refund. They are a bunch of scammers.

We got bitten up by what I'm hoping was just ants because i kept finding them on the bed. We slept with our own blankets above the covers. Im pretty sure there was urine on the base board by the bed. The TV kept changing input on its own so we couldn't really use it.

On arrival had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come back to the lobby area to wait on me for check in. Once we made it to our room, we discovered that the air conditioner was not cold at all. It was just blowing warm air. Also discovered the air conditioners in the hallway were in the same condition and blowing warm air. would not recommend this place to anyone else and will definitely not come back.

The place suited the bare minimum for what I needed. It had two overpriced vending machines, an ice machine that was broken, and weak wifi. It also took time to get to somewhere decent to eat. But it was close to where I needed to be and was cheap. Remember kids, you truly do get what you pay for.

Switched rooms 3 times 1st room smelled horrible, 2nd room toilet didn't work 3rd room filled wit rust and mildew ultimately i wasted money didn't stay there 3 hrs because it was impossible to be comfortable definitely wouldn't refer anyone there

The room was disgusting with a couple dead roaches about and dirt and grime over everything. It was cold and uncomfortable even with the heater there. Lastly, and particularly frustrating is that it is advertised that there is a continental breakfast. There is none. We went to the lobby at around 8am, no one was behind the front desk, there was no food of any kind in the table/counter area. There was one carafe of coffee with coffee so cold that it must have been made the day before. I would have asked for my money back there, but no one ever came back to the front desk. This "Inn and Suites" is more of a no-tell motel with hot and cold running roaches. Avoid at all costs.

Since we had never stayed at this location before we asked to see the room before we checked in and they were very happy to help even though it was late at night. The room was clean and comfortable.

I had made a payment online before my visit but got there and was asked for a $100 deposit fee that must be a cash payment. The room had this foul smell, and the microwave was rusted. I asked for a change of room, which was a bit more conducive than the prior one, but the situation didn't differ much.

I had carry out that needed to be put in the fridge and I lined the shelves with plastic bags I had in the car. I put clean socks on when I got into the room and before I went to bed they were filthy dirty. And then to top that off a bug ran across the sheets while I was settling in. The socks got dirtier in the morning while getting ready, which did NOT include a shower because the tub did not look clean at all. I told the guy in the office about my issues and that I wanted a refund and he said I had to contact the company I booked it thru. ZERO accountability for the condition of the room and zero sympathy for my experience.

We stayed at the Stonewood Inn & Suites of Carrollton and were very impressed. The rooms were large, everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the grounds were spotless, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were traveling on a budget and priced several similar hotels in the area and Stonewood Inn & Suites of Carrollton had the best prices. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this place was. We will be back for sure.

I stopped by this hotel on my way for a night. I enjoyed my stay, everything was clean, and I’ll be back again on my way back.

I really liked staying here as it was a more convenient and economic option in the area.
