Courtyard Carolina Beach Oceanfront

While there my car would not start so I went to the hotel desk for some help(I had jumper cables) one of the hostess there offered to bring her car around to where my was parked . She did and with in minutes my car was running(took it to a local auto parts store,cell was dead so I bought a new battery). The point being that they went above and beyond helping me out in my opinion ! oh yes, great view of the ocean from my balcony right by the beach. Highly recommend

No microwave in room. Found out day before we left it was down the hall. 10 floors and only one working elevator. Not enough handicap parking

The elevator was a HASSLE. One was broken and had been for months and the other elevator was a 10+ minute wait. At 9 months pregnant I didn’t love hiking stairs up and down to our 5th floor room. The hotel has great beach access and rooms are clean. But I wouldn’t be booking this as a main summer vacation - fine for a long weekend, if the elevator and lack of child supervision (from boardwalk) wouldn’t bother you.

Biggest complaint was being on the 2nd floor right next to the fair rides made for loud noises. And everyone's ac unit dripping down onto our balcony making half the balcony unusable.

Staff, rooms, location, and views were great. Only complaints were I wish the hotel coffee shop wasn't a Starbucks (local is better) and 1 of the 2 elevators (for a 200+ room hotel) were not working so it often took 5+ minutes to get to us.

We were in an oceanfront room with a balcony, and the weather was beautiful and fairly mild. We were able to open the balcony doors and just listen to the waves. It was so pleasant and beautiful. I will definitely go back.

Perfect place to stay right on the beach especially with kids. Hotel staff was friendly, the pool was nice in addition to being right on the beach. Parking was easy and convinently located

The room wreaked of Lysol cleaner for someone with allergies it was not good. Accommodations were so so. Staff not very friendly , view was obstructed by beachfront restaurant . Usually stay at Hilton i hi items thought we would give Marriott a try, very disappointed.

I love staying here. The staff is always personable and I love the direct access to the beach and view. Hopefully next time they will have the additional elevator fixed because sometimes they wait for the elevator is a little long but they do have stairs available. The tropical is such a good restaurant. I will be back soon. This is the only place that I enjoy staying.

Friendly staff, the hallways smells like new and fresh! Room was perfect. The location its great, after we parked there we didn’t need to move our car, most of the good restaurants were by walking distance. Only down side, just one elevator was working at the time (not a big deal for us). Will come back again.

The mattress on the queen sized bed was beyond its service life. When sitting down on the bed, the bed would essentially flatten onto the box spring. It was so bad that I had to sleep on the floor. I brought this matter up to the staff upon checking out. They indicated that they would have provided a refund; however since I went through a 3rd party, their hands were tied.

Great ocean view, however one elevator was functional the entire week we were there. It’s a large hotel to only have one working elevator. Housekeeping is supposed to be every other day, however we did not have anyone attempt to clean our room in 5 days. We ran out of toilet paper and had to go to the front desk and get a new roll, as well as clean towels. Our trash piled up so much that I resorted to taking it down myself to a large trash can by the ice machine. For almost 300 a night I expected a little better service.

Only stayed Saturday night. Friday night the hotel moved my stay to another hotel not on the beach at all due to AC issues. Refund for first night was requested per hotel staff...

Amazing view and location. Waited 2 hours over check in for our room along with other guests which wasn’t the best but we kept busy and walked the boardwalk.

No , my room was dirty and i stayed 4 nights never once was my room cleaned ., trash piled up . There was a dirty toilet and dried blood on the bathroom floor with trash in the trash cans all this was upon entry on my first day . And unannounced maintainance worker showed up to do scheduled tasks .

Great relaxing weekend

We love everything about this hotel! From the location right beside the carnival in the summertime to the ease of walking to nearby restaurants and the beach! We also love the option of having both indoor and outdoor pools for our kids to play in if we don’t feel like getting sandy on the beach or if the weather is not ideal. This is the best hotel and our family will never stay anywhere else at Carolina Beach or Wilmington!

The room was not ready at time of check-in and parking in the hotel lot was limited due to the conference and construction equipment. The room had an odd smell and there was no cutlery or dishes available in the kitchenette. The stay as a whole was ok, just disappointing that there was no notification of the renovations.

People are really great at this hotel, beautiful oceanfront views clean very spacious and not bad modern wise yeah so please enjoy your stay and don’t miss out. I want to Wilmington‘s Wrightsville beach most beautiful uncomfortable resort to stay at off-season rates are very affordable and the beaches are gorgeous. The view is amazing.

The room was very basic and clearly worn. The mini fridge was hidden behind a cabinet door that looked rough, and there was no microwave in the room. Having to go to the market/ice area to use one was inconvenient. The bathroom was a major issue. Running the shower or bath was extremely loud but had very little water pressure. The water also had a strange smell, almost like well water, and appeared slightly tinted. The walls are extremely thin. We could hear full conversations from one neighbor and every sound—showers, toilets, even the shower curtain—from the other. If you have children, I strongly recommend requesting a secluded room. We stayed four nights with our children and never complained, but on the last night we received a complaint about our “loud children,” who were simply eating ice cream they bought from the hotel market after the pool closed early for maintenance. Given how loud the plumbing is and how thin the walls are, this felt unreasonable. Laundry facilities were also inconvenient, with two washers and only one dryer on a different floor. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for long stays, especially for families. The condition, noise issues, and lack of comfort did not justify the cost.

The needs update. The ceiling needs to be fixed. Look like there had be a leak. Ceiling repair but not done very well. Pool did not look clean. The staff was very nice and pleasant.

This was our 45 year anniversary I had requested a handicap room with a shower seat not a tub. the room looked fine until you looked up took pictures. no microwave. just not what I expected

I have two items that could have been better. I wish the windows had been cleaned before our stay. And I know there is renovation going on, but a 24 hr complimentary coffee station would have been appreciated.

The only issue was paying for breakfast. They have a small starbucks inside with a sandwich place. I didn't want to pay $5+ for a cup of brewed coffee... But otherwise it was wonderful! I would love to stay here again.

it was exactly what I wanted. i'm 84 and wanted to stay on the oceanfront and the boardwalk was what I wanted. as a kid in 1949 or 1950i stayed with my parents in a little apartment over a souveneer shop on the boardwalk and I was trying to relive that wonderful memory. I did. so pitiful when hurricane hazel tore up Carolina beach.

Staff was great but being a Marriott expected it to be a little better quality as far as facility.

I loved the view. Room was nice. Great location. Front desk staff could be friendlier. I have a service dog and I kept hearing the front desk women whispering about her. They really shouldn’t assume that service dogs are all large seeing-eye type dogs. Hopefully next time I stay here management will educate them on the different types of service dogs.

The staff was very friendly. Loved the views from the balcony. Love that everything is in walking distance and the boardwalk with access to the beach. The only thing disappointing about this stay was the cloudy weather blocking that beautiful sunrise.

Clean comfortable, spacious room, modernized since my last stay. Enjoyed having a corner suite with windows on every side. Oceanfront and city light views. Staff friendly and actively ready to assist, nice oceanfront balcony!

Visit on the off season and I cant imagine how busy and loud it must be on the high season. Construction next door at 6:40am almost ruined my stay but the staff were able to move me to the other side of the building and that helped significantly. The views are spectacular and worth the money. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty to do in the area, even on the off season. Downside is no restaurant on the premises. Starbucks in the lobby was helpful which then turned into a small bistro for lunch or evening. Plenty of open restaurants nearby. Would recommend but not in the summer unless you enjoy loud crowds.

While the staff were fine and the view of the ocean wonderful, the property has a run down, shabby feeling. The decor is old and tired, and the room disappointing; stained ceiling, stained couch, chipped furniture. This is not what I expected from Courtyard. This is more on par with a Comfort Inn. The price of the room was exorbitant for what it was. We won't stay there again and recommend others don't either (at least not at seasonal rates).

My boys were a little disappointed that the pools weren’t working first two days but staff were incredible. The location was great!

The view was excellent! We had a small problem with the entry door on check-in and another with the balcony sliding glass door. Reported them to the front desk and they responded very quickly. For the price, at this time of year, I was underwhelmed.

I loved everything but not having the option fir a kitchenette after a photo being included with the room i reserved. That was a let down and i will not stay here again because of falsely advertising that their was a kitchenette. You really should take that photo out of your amenities section of your photos.

We got an ocean view. The overall upkeep and maintenance of the hotel were less than desirable. Examples include the balcony door, being very old and almost impossible to open and close with a lack of a screen to keep the door open. The dated glass bifold doors for the closet were also very difficult to open. For the price we are paying I would expect better. We stayed at the Hampton right across the street among back and it was clear that their maintenance was much better.

This was our first trip to Carolina Beach and it will not be our last! The hotel has a beautiful view of the beach. We arrived at night and was greeted warmly by the front desk. Our room had a nice view but the TV was not working correctly. When we let the front desk know, they kindly offered to fix it but then also offered an upgrade. We were given a top floor suite with an even better view. We were able to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise every morning. Even the bed was super comfortable. Plus it is facing the ocean so you can just open the balcony door and enjoy the view from bed. The parking is about $15 a day but definitely worth it. The hotel is perfect walking distance to shops and restaurants. Both pools were large enough for everyone there to have space but not too big for little ones. We did get engaged on this trip, so I may be a bit biased, but we will totally be back!

Our stay was mostly positive, with one exception: our room (815) had a shower that looked and felt decades old. The shower head's water temperature mixing tap was clearly obsolete, controlling both volume and temperature simultaneously with difficulty. Not expected in a room at $350 a night.

I had a room in the 9th floor for five days.The carpet was wet as soon as I walked in. There's a constant smell of natural fertilizer that became stronger when stepping out to the balcony. One day there was no access to the wifi. When I brought that up to a girl with blonde wig, she just suggested to check my phone before moving her attention to someone else quickly. There's a ferris wheel with all its lights up and loud music right next to the hotel that came on every afternoon from 6-11 pm. Considering the amount paid for each night this Marriott was subpar. The only positive was the area around was gorgeous and its right on the beach. Cleaning service came out just one time to replace the towels and change the sheets in one of the two beds and didn't vacuum the floor. There's no kitchenette or microwave in our room. Staff was kind enough to bring up a microwave when I asked for one. Overall I will not consider this Marriott hotel for future stay.

What we like the most is the location of the hotel. In front of the boardwalk, the beach and the electric rides.

This hotel knows they have mold in their rooms. The air conditioning was not working and there was mold in the room. We had no idea until we both woke up Ruth swollen eyes, nausea, trouble breathing etc. They promised us a refund but still did not receive it. Had to go to urgent care and still trying to recover from the severe inflammation which occurred.

I would have given them a 5 for cleaning but there was hair in my sink. (different color and texture than mine) Other than that the room was spotless. Will be back!

Awful experience. The air conditioner in our room was reportedly broken and we were 'relocated' to a hotel 8 miles away - in another town, off the island, that was not on the beach. We made numerous attempts over the course of our stay to obtain a refund. Expedia refused to work with the hotel manager, requiring us to jump through multiple hoops and do the work for the refund ourselves. Very problematic.

While the location is undeniably great, a hotel stay should provide a comfortable place to sleep—something this property fails to deliver. The air conditioner was excessively loud, making sleep even more difficult. The breakfast, despite its hefty price tag, was no better than a basic continental spread. Given the high costs for parking (snuck the fee in after check-in), breakfast, and the stay itself, the quality should be significantly better. The surrounding area offers plenty within walking distance and access to the boardwalk, but if you're looking for a restful place to recharge during your vacation, this hotel is not it. Expect sore backs and sleepless nights unless substantial improvements are made.

This hotel had everything you could need! We stayed in a one bedroom suite and had a great balcony to see the ocean and watch the amazing Thursday night fireworks. Indoor and outdoor pool, easy chair/umbrella rental on the beach. Walkable to all the shops and restaurants. It was a great trip!

My first night, the fire alarm went off twice, 1am and 4 am. No one received any sleep. Coordination was completely terrible getting people outside for communicating while inside, the place could have been burning but no one would be able to know what's going on because staff didn't communicate until they were yelled at to let us know what's going on. Rooms were okay. The other features are pretty dated. The music festival was right down the boardwalk which was nice but the Hampton what's much closer to everything happening. Cheaper as well . For as much as you pay for nights you still have to pay for breakfast as well. Which is pretty basic and the staff isn't so friendly. I suggest going out to get a better breakfast for the same price After checking out two nights after, I was told they only gave compensation for the terrible night to those who directly booked with Marriott. Note to everyone, don't book through expedia. Book through the hotel itself otherwise you won't get any benefits. Third party's always need to take a cut.

Hotel is right on the boardwalk so you can walk to restaurants, rides and bars! Beach, too. Staff is wonderful. Room could use a little updating, but, who's spending any time there with everything there is to do! We are looking forward to going again.

The building from the outside looks nice. great location and friendly service. The beach was clean and the area was great for dining. The cleanliness was a train wreck. We requested early check-in at 3pm. we arrived at 3:30pm and our room was not ready. we had to wait for two more hours to check-in. (check-in is 4pm, we didn't get to our room until 5:30pm). Once we were in the room, we immediately noticed how dirty it was. The walls had food on them, the floor was disgusting and covered in dirt. there was food left in the refrigerator, food left in the cupboard hair in the shower and a dirty used wash cloth in the bathroom. When we went to sleep we found hair in the bed! We contacted Courtyard Hotels and they said to speak with the management there. They came and cleaned the room after the 2nd day, but I had to call them to do it. the only thing they did was make the bed and put fresh towels in the room. I wiped the floor where I had spilled a splash of water and the towel came back black. We had to make a path of towels from the bed to the bathroom because we were afraid to step on the floor with bare feet. Overall a bad experience and I will never stay here again.

Great location ocean front, clean and very well maintained property, indoor pool, and very friendly staff. Negatives are scarce parking, no microwave in the room, and no breakfast items in the morning, not even coffee, which I thought was a bit cheap. Properties around it offer versions of a continental breakfast. There is a pricey bar in the lobby with $5 a cup coffee.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to all shopping and dining options. The hotel is very clean and quiet. My only issue is the bed was horribly uncomfortable. You could visibly see the dips in the mattress where the springs had worn out or broken. Four nights on a very worn out mattress didn't provide the rest we needed to keep up with our kiddos throughout our trip. But everything else was great.

Dont believe what this site tells you. Trip was more expensive that when booked, had tonswith rooms because they put us next to construction and jackhammer. Breakfast was expensive, slight and tasteless. Hotel is very dated and only the night manager from brooklyn was kind, caring and helpful.

2. Restaurant is pricey, limited options and not good quality. I would recommend going to one of the nearby restaurants. Would not stay here again, and I am reaching out to Marriott corporate.

The balcony view was beautiful. I didn’t like the noise from them working on the building or the fact that the elevator kept breaking and I had to use the stairs just to get to my room.

Construction is going on to rebuild the balcony and it gets pretty loud. It doesn’t bother me but i feel people should know this in advance in case it affects them differently.

This property was not what I expected. I was thinking that all the beds would be in the one room. But, we got a bedroom deal. It looked like a little apartment. which would out perfect for 5 people. I would come back here all the time. Also, we had the best view of the Sun Rise.

Balcony reconstruction so it was noisy and we weren’t informed when we booked and I have stayed at Marriotts before and they were much better than this one. I realize we were off season and amenities reflected that . This motel doesn’t live up to Marriott Bonvoy standards.

Oceanfront rooms were nice. Marriott's complex ways of connecting to WiFi were annoying. Also, balconies are deteriorating, though they are in the process of renovating them.

Lots of noise because they are updating balconies-but we were not told ahead of time. Also, the hot/cold water was very delayed in the shower so if you turned it up it would get super hot a minute after. The windows were super foggy-double pane gas failure so we couldn't actually see the ocean view unless the balcony door was open.We ran out of body wash in the dispenser and the couch was very old/worn and not very comforable. The staff, views, and area were great.

Stayed there several times Hate their breakfast buffet is gone. That was always a plus. New breakfast stinks.

The only real issue we had was the concrete on the balcony was broken and had pieces placed to cover the break, and the furniture on the balcony is unsturdy and uncomfortable. Small price to pay for the beautiful views and convenience!

Clean room, clean hotel and friendly staff. Close to everything

I didnt get the room i picked

It was next to the amusement park. The ferris wheel was right next to hotel. It was loud until about 10 pm. Also our slider was permanently fogged and we could not see out of it. On the other hand the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and seemed well maintained. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Way overpriced for what the property is. It is very dated, our room was extremely dated and dirty. There are almost no amenities that go along with the property. It is located beside an amusement park, which is dirty and noisy. Very limited dining options. Over price for the property is.
