Boardwalk Inn

The first impression was not the greatest because the bathroom was not clean there was sand in the shower and dirty towels left in the bathroom BUT the property manager apologized and was very nice and quick to resolve the problem and got some to clean the bathroom within the hour. Other than that it was very nice, clean and people were friendly. The kitchen with a fridge freezer was nice and the even had pots and pans for you to use on the stove and a coffee pod coffeemaker. So very nice property overall.

We booked a room with a kitchenette. Did not have a kitchenette Mold and stuff in the bathroom, exposed wires where the smoke detector should be. If you're more than 5'3 then the shower is probably too small for you. Location is great though and the pool is decent

Room was nicely updated. Kitchen area was a nice surprise. Floor needed cleaned. Your feet got dirty walking around barefoot.

There were no staff on sight. House keeping was preformed by the clients. The room was nice. It was close to the beach and other area amenities.

The hotel itself is your typical older beach property. However, it has been renovated and the rooms are clean and convenient to the beach and boardwalk. The pool area is also clean. It's well worth the stay!

Great stay overall! The room was clean, staff was friendly, and it was very pet-friendly which we appreciated. The kitchen was convenient and made traveling with kids easier. Only downside was there was no bathroom vent fan, so the bathroom got pretty humid after showers. Otherwise, we had a good experience and would stay again

The kitchenette has everything you would need for an extended stay. We never ran out of coffee K-cups! The shower head is high enough for a 6-ft tall adult. We had plenty of towels, soap, etc. The throw blanket at the foot of the bed was so soft, I ordered one each for my daughter & me! Looking forward to returning next year!

Cute little motel, right across the boardwalk from the beach. Within walking distance to the shopping area and some nice restaurants. We will absolutely stay here again!

The setting was great right on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk but not so close that there were random people wandering through. Room was cozy for 2 people.

The room was very clean! Everything was exactly as advertised.

The shower was impossibly small. I understand that this is an older property that’s been retrofitted, but it was barely usable and we are not large people. I know they can’t really do anything about this from a space perspective, but the parking sucks. It’s not unreasonable that a family may have more than one vehicle for a variety of reasons and there’s no provision made for this, nor is it made clear during booking that there is only one space available per room. Perhaps consider some additional resources for close by parking.

Location was perfect! Within walking distance of really anything you could wish for. Views were phenomenal and sunrise beach walks were a breeze with the beach proximity. The perfect amount of amenities you would need to maximize your beach stay. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Hotel and staff were amazing! Feel bad rating a 3 but the bar next door (live music) was so loud from 830p-12 midnight. The hotel staff said the bar being torn down soon but it was so crazy loud (like over 100 decibel when most noise ordinance 75). We couldn’t sleep until it stopped.

Internet access didn't work

I know it’s early in the season, but the pool was not available even though it had had water (quite a bit of algae). Make sure to note your parking space numbered to match the room. We didn’t notice at first and had to move our car to the correct space. All said, a great property…would stay again!

This property welcomes pets. It is located seconds away from the beach and great spot in Carolina Beach. Although staff are not onsite, they promptly respond to texts.

The room was clean and even had a broom for me to sweep up sand! You can tell the property was build in the 60s or 70s but has been renovated and is very cute. The location is perfect- right on the boardwalk and beach. Plus it was close to shopping and many restaurants. Our only complaint was the tiny shower with a shower head that is too big. We had to stand against the shower wall to get wet! But we will definitely stay here again.

Great location! Nice room. My only suggestion is to switch to non-scented cleaning products as the fabuloso smell is very pungent. Also, if you stay on the weekend the bar across the street is VERY LOUD

Our room was very noisy. You can hear the band and the patrons talking at the bar across the road, not just background noise, you might as well be at the bar. You could also hear the dogs next door. The room was very small, no chair(s) for sitting. Just the bed and 2 side tables. The mini-frig worked well and property was clean. Easy access to ocean and elevated deck at one end of property so you able to sit and see ocean.

We only stayed one night with our two dogs. All rooms are pet friendly. My wife and I were very surprised how clean the rooms were and that’s all we really wanted. Soft bathroom towels, nice bedspread and blankets, little kitchen area. No pet hair left behind for the last visitors. We will most definitely return. Only a three minute walk to the boardwalk which was really nice.

The temperatures outside were in the mid 30s and all they had was space heater for heat, which of course was unplugged upon arrival. It took hours before the room was comfortable. We were traveling with a toddler which made the matter more frustrating. We almost left to find other accommodations but it was late and we were too tired so we slept in multiple layers. The bathrooms are not remodeled and were dingy. We saw a couple of bugs crawling under the sink cabinet. There is a tiki bar near by and you can hear the music vibrating through the walls until midnight. I don’t know if I would choose this place again but I can see how it would work for others.

The cutest little place literally a one minute walk from the beach. Near cofffee shops, bars, boardwalk and excellent communication.

I didn't particularly care for the pets. Barking all hours of the night and very thin walls don't really help for sleep. No hot water on the first day to take a shower. Then the hotel manager opens my room door with me half clothes laying in the bed. I stayed because it was cheaper but I think I'll pay the extra next time for piece.

We loved the tiled shower. The king bed was super comfortable. The little refrigerator and microwave was perfect for us. You can hear the waves when sitting on the balcony and patio area. Thanks so much for a great visit.

It was ok but really not what we expected. The pictures were a little deceiving. The management did step up when the WIFI was acting up and that kept the tv in and out. So, thanks for a nice stay.

This was a last minute decision to find somewhere to stay overnight. Price was good, on the beach, VERY clean. We’d stay here again. We liked the bar across the street. They had live music and it didn’t bother us when we went to bed. The pool/pool area could use some help. Overall 👍

It was great to be so close to the beach and the de or of the room was great. There was a strong odor of a chemical cleaner that made it difficult to breathe and, thus, relax. There was a trash bag and smelly mop just outside our door. I reported it when I arrived and was told they’d take care of it. It was still sitting there when we checked out. Smoking was allowed on the porch so each time we came and left we had to pass through a smoke field. The shower curtain was moldy, there were dead insects in the bathroom light and the bed spread was either stained or dirty. Not worth the price.

Nice location, clean,but when I called the staff for an issue I was having she told me flat out she didn't want to be bothered. I handled the problem myself. She should not be on call to help customers, especially telling them that she didn't want to be bothered. What is she getting paid for? Other than her I thought it was a great stay.

My main concern was the cleanliness of the pool; unless they use odorless chlorine, this pool had no chlorine at all, I felt as if taking a plain water bath in a bath tub. This was a turn off! Another bather shared my concern while at pool with me.

The property is great for a quick stay. Very convenient and walkable area. Also very nice being right on the beach. Would stay here again.

The room was clean and everything was done by text. They do not have an office where you can speak to someone but they said they were available via phone. Parking was good and the pool was nice. Great super close beach access. The shower was really small, anyone over weight pregnant or claustrophobic would not enjoy the shower.

Amazing location with easy beach access and boardwalk. Great virtual fronk desk. Communication was great! Room was cute and clean. Perfect for the 2 of us. Shower faucet was loose, air conditioner loud but worked great, and walls were thin. But overall perfect for our wknd getaway and would 100% book again!

The kitchenette is great and the full size fridge was a bonus. The pool area was disappointing. The pool and concrete area around it are crumbling to pieces.

Great place for quick trip. Right off the boardwalk, beach access, walkable to everything we wanted to do. Very cute place to stay. Planning to go back again.

Perfect location. Walkable to everything in the area. Quiet. Clean. Loved it so much will be booking again soon.

The hotel is perfectly located to be walkable to area attractions. Amenties in the room were perfect. Enjoyed it so much going to rebook for another stay.

For the holiday weekend so close to the board walk and the beach, the price was unbeatable. The room itself was nice and cozy and checkin was fast simple and easy. Free parking with pass was included which was really helpful and walking distance to entertainment and food. The only this i did not care for was the shower. The water pressure was too light and the shower head didn't really allow you to apply soap before rinsing it away. I would suggest a detachable shower head instead.

Convenient to boardwal and beach, pool warm, good kick back area, could use upgrade, kinda like a home porch area needing a remodel, but sufficient. Studio is small. Next time i would book room with kitchen

The room was cute! The bed was comfortable. The pool could really use updating. Lots of mold and broken umbrellas. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut due to it being swollen from humidity. We asked to check in an hour early and she wanted to charge us $35 extra. The room ac unit is VERY loud. I didnt sleep well due to it. Some may like that. Location was great though. The outdoor shower could really use some cleaning. It was nasty!

Awesome all around

We informed the staff via text we were checking a day early due to the conditions. They refused a partial refund when I texted about the AC unit and bed sheet stains. I mean its a quick stay just loud AC unit.

We had a wonderful time at the boardwalk inn. We went to the fair. The beds the beds were very comfy and everything was very nice and clean. I really liked it It was a really cute area and And I really liked it these reviews are from my nieces, great nieces who are 7 and 10. Thank you so much!

Close to a lot l, pool and beach

The location was great and the room was up to date and decorated well! The only downside due to it being close to everything was noise late and the people thumping around upstairs. We would definitely stay here again though!

We had a corner room #10. We had amazing views of the ocean from every window. The walk to local coffee shops and stores was very convenient. Loved the room beach decorations.

My wife is a hotel and inn snob and I was a little apprehensive about her opinion once we arrived. First thing she said was nice job on picking this place. It is close to everything, especially to the beach.

I loved how cute the place was & convient to walk around town . But I was a little bummed at the room . It wasn’t even the room I had booked . It was smaller . The bottom of the shower curtain was nasty . I had to bathe my 3 year old in the shower bc I had no tub . I had two small kids and we had to walk the stairs up to the room we didn’t even book . The bugs around the pool was awful ! It was a cute little place but I feel it was talked up a good bit online . I heard several others say the same . It would have been nice to get the bigger room I paid for !

Really nice property. The the room was awesome. The only criticism I have is next door there's a bar that was really, really loud. So if you're trying to get some rest, then that could be a problem.

Cute, clean rooms in excellent location within walking distance to Carolina Beach stores, restaurants and entertainment. Did not like no-person check-in and never seeing any hotel staff on the premises except people cleaning rooms

The queen room is a little smaller than expected.

It is a very small room and no chairs or table. The bed is not conformable. The bed makes a.lot of noises while you turned around.

The room was nice, but having a king size bed in a room with no other room to move around, it needed more space inside the room. You couldn't walk around the room itself, the room was to small for a king sized bed. I wouldn't stay in that room again, other than that it was good, because we are older, we stay in the hotel room more than others. So, it wasn't to our standards.

Newly renovated and super nice!!! Great amenities, in walking distance of many restaurants and shops. Right on the boardwalk. Nice rocking chairs outside of the room. Highly enjoyed our trip and we were very pleased with the accommodations. Will stay again.

Awesome place nothing but friendly people around here and great atmosphere. However there just isnt any office which gives off an unprotected or no help feeling. No one to really call if you wish to discuss an issue or anything. Just wish there was an office staff it is a hotel otherwise lovely expirence. Great area i do recommend to others just maybe not in busy seasons. Love the rooms decor and amenities will definitely consider staying again.

Ive traveled extensively for work and play, so the franchise hotels get a little boring. I was in Carolina Beach NC, and this little place pops onto my screen. I liked the colors and the theme, so I booked it for a couple of nights. Pulling in and parking, I immediately felt like I was back in my childhood at one of those places that dotted the beach everywhere. Entering the room, I found a brand new renovation complete with higher end fixtures. The fridge and microwave were completely retro. The beds are quite comfortable and thebroom was clean. The location is perfect as it sits right on the Boardwalk. I was able to park and walk everywhere i wanted to go including work. This will not be the last time I stay there. The staff is equally as awesome. I checked in online and they sent me thebdoor code. Received good morning texts asking how my stay was, and giving tips on where to eat and things to do. Again thoroughly awesome. Do yourself a favor and check out this little gem.

The room could have been bigger. The pool wasn’t opened like it said it was according to the date on the website said april1-oct31. Was told I would have a room on the bottom and ended up on the top. The I wrap stay was good.

We live a small motel and have been bring our kids to CB for MANY years (they’re now grown)-the boardwalk inn was beautifully remodeled and so close to the boardwalk to the arcade and restaurants…and the beach! Having the dog run was perfect for a quick bathroom break for our pup and all the different sitting areas meant you could spread out…we lived sitting in our rocking chairs on the porch (we were in #6 so we were second floor at the end so no one was walking by so Milo could sit out there with us. They had the grand opening while we were there and there was food and drink and everyone was friendly and nice! Don’t pass this one up-it’s affordable and convenient to everything!
