How can you have a Loading/Unloading zone for 3 minutes? It took me 15 minutes to get a parking permit from the hotel, and I already had a ticket on the windshield.

The staff was very nice and at first we thought the room was up to par for our taste. Upon waking the next day we found dirty underwear in the bathroom and left over beer cans on and behind the dresser. We had a talk with staff and they apologized with a bottle of Champagne.

Location good and bad. Close to everything but that includes bars that have live music unit late in the night. The ear plugs on the nightstand should have been a big clue If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, this is not your hotel. Amenities were motel 6 quality.

The room was clean and the location was great. Plenty to do in the nice beach town of capitola and this hotel is right in the sweet spot. Perfect for a couples getaway. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

It was clean the staff was down to earth the location was perfect we had Ocean View. Lots of night life right across the street. Dancing and Karaoke. The stairs it’s the only way to get up to the second floor. There isn’t an elevator and the stairs are very steep. No handicap anything at this hotel.

The breakfast menu was a good continental breakfast. The parking included a pass good throughout town which was wonderful because parking is so difficult in Capitola. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The patio area was not too inviting but the lounge where breakfast was served was fine.
- 2/5
It was clean The staff member was unpleasant and unprofessional. We communicated our dinner reservation and was told we could come early and would get a call when our room was ready. No call and had to rush to get ready for our special evening. The room is extremely small and there is no privacy. You can here through the walls and door. The parking is not easy and takes time, if you're looking for something relaxing this is not he hotel for you. It's noisy and very busy outside. They leave era plugs by the bed. This was not divulged when the room was booked.

Lovely small hotel right in the centre of Capitola. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We were welcomed by Mark who gave us great advice regarding making the most of our short stay. Breakfast was very basic and we would have preferred proper mugs/cups rather than disposable ones.

Stayed in the Grand Bahama room which was very beautifully furnished. Everything was super clean and the robe and slippers were a great touch. The continental bfast in the am was pretty basic but good enough for something light before setting out for the day. Parking was extra for the particular spot we had but it was less than 10 ft from the front door. The courtyard was also nice and cozy. Can't beat the location for this place, will return for sure.

Room was clean. Staff very nice.

Very quaint hotel. Excellent location.

Great accommodations, friendly staff, excellent value and great location!
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay at the Capitol Hotel
- 5/5
The remodel is very nice, of course, clean, bright and bed was perfect, plenty of room.
- 2/5
The ac/heater did not work so the room was stuffy and cold at the same time. The water would not get hot so taking a shower with luke warm water was not pleasing. Then when we went to lay down every now and them we would fine an ant on us so they were coming from somewhere. There was a huge stain on the floor looked disgusting. This was my second stay with this hotel and i was shocked by the difference in rooms.
- 5/5
Friendly staff clean rooms great location
- 5/5
Location, cleanliness and friendly staff.
- 5/5
The staff was welcoming and friendly. We had early check in and the room was spotless. Everything is all decorated so nice. Breakfast was generous and delicious.
- 5/5
Nice and clean
- 5/5
Location was awesome. Could not be better, near the beach and beach shopping. Room had high quality furnishings, but a bit small, although the location made up for all of that. Beds could have been a better quality.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. We were able to get checked in before check-in time. They were very accommodating with that. We've stayed here a few times before and will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
My wife and I decided to spend our 39th anniversary in Capitola and wanted to stay right in town. We chose the Capitola Hotel and we were not disappointed. It is truly a wonderful boutique hotel. The building and rooms are beautiful and the staff were absolutely the best. It will be our go to hotel whenever we visit the Capitola/Santa Cruz area.
- 5/5
There is nothing bad I can say about this place. The place is cute, quaint and very comfortable. The staff are very welcoming and super friendly. We could literally walk out the front door and take 25 steps and be at the beach. absolutely amazing place. We will definitely be going there again.
- 2/5
Upon arrival was there at 2 and a lovely lady at the front desk was polite and attentive assisted getting parking and informed us the room was not quite ready and to return in an hour, did so and a gentleman when asked to check in an abrupt its not check in time, i informed him of what was communicated to me and still not 4 and when i returned there were several damp towels hanging from the bathroom and when approached the man he implied i lied about having the room with damp towels this was not a great experience.

This is our 4rth time staying at the Capitola Hotel over the past 10 years and we are never disappointed . Always friendly and clean with many great amenities . Location is perfect !
- 5/5
Walking to everything! Beach, shopping and many restaurants.
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
The property is right in the heart of the shopping district making it very convenient to walk to the berries shops, beach and restaurants.
- 2/5
That keeps u awake It was not pleasant
- 2/5
We were in the Grand Bahama and the bed was terrible - needs to be replaced- way too soft and it collapsed in the middle. Great stay other than that.
- 5/5
The hotel is small and very nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only issue was the pull out sofa bed was very small and uncomfortable for an adult.
- 5/5
Right across from the beach. We loved it!
- 5/5
One of my favorite parts of this was in the evening, there’s a side patio garden with fire pits and comfortable chairs and we were able to sit out there and drink tea, drinks and hang out. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was everything though, the night and the day concierge were wonderful. Such friendly ladies, such kind ladies, so helpful they made our stay so extremely flawless. I will definitely stay at this property again
- 5/5
Perfect location. Was loud in the am. Great boutique hotel
- 5/5
Nice small room with a comfortable bed. Beach is across the street. Staff was friendly. Older well kept small hotel.
- 4/5
Amazing location, staff was super helpful. Breakfast was a little lacking but restaurants in the area are great
- 3/5
Great location. Room was small and very noisy.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Loved the room!!! We got the Grand Cayman, it’s all by itself, and was all around a great experience!!!
- 5/5
We have stayed at the Capitola Hotel multiple times and have enjoyed it each time!
- 5/5
Right in center of town, walking distance to eat and beach
- 5/5
I really liked the bed was super nice slept really well even though our window faced the busy street. The shower body wash, shampoo and conditioner smells really nice too. The continental breakfast actually was not too bad Bagels, different little cake like pastries, fruit, oatmeal, OJ, Coffee. This is for the people that complain about the price while a agree a little over priced to me too however we are paying for location your right on the main strip we came early so we were able to park right on the curb in front so that was really nice and convenient. Staff was super nice and helped us to light the fire pit outside. No for the downside of things I do not like the bird poop all over everything outside and the turquoise table out back just really needs to be re painted with some rust oleum paint, could even be sanded a little and just hit with some spray paint bam new table. The rooms are super small so if you do not like small places this boutique hotel is not for you. But if you like have the location and being right where everything is you will love this place. We had a nice time and slept well probably one of the nicest beds we have slept in. We would definitely come back again so thank you Capitola Hotel and staff!
- 5/5
The workers seemed very friendly always acknowledge us the only thing I didn’t like is the parking but that’s always Capitola parking….. I do think our room was haunted and yet I didn’t mind it too much. He just wanted to be acknowledged. Interested if anyone else had the feeling of that. But I do think maybe a smart tv would make it better for movies but we made due.
- 5/5
Had a great time.
- 5/5
very good
- 4/5
Stay was nice but stairs would be a concern to stay again (no elevator).
- 5/5
Amazing stay! Great location and morning breakfast. Very clean and close to everything. Very friendly host.
- 5/5
Trip was for our 20 yr Anniversary and the staff was amazing Jessica is so awesome arranged for our taxi to Shadowbrook and any questions we had either her or Mark were there to answer
- 5/5
Our stay was Amazing, Phenomenal and Excellent due to the Staff: Julie, Jessica, Haley and Mark what an exceptional team, just awesome level of Customer Service!! The Hotel was spotless clean and the Grand Caymen Room made such a perfect stay, having our Hot Coffee in the Morning Outside the front door of the room in a Private Patio, Yes, Wow Amazing with the Sun warming you up in the coolness of the Ocean Breeze!!
- 5/5
I love this place. For sure I will come back❤️

- 5/5
Wonderful boutique hotel in heart of CApitola village!
- 5/5
Would love to stay again
- 5/5
The staff was excellent and made arrangement for my handicap quite quickly. They also made sure we were safe crossing the street when on our way to dinner.
- 4/5
Well kept boutique hotel with beach and restaurants across the street. Parking pass nearby helpful though not guaranteed. Nice continental breakfast which you can also eat outside on the patio between building. Coffee or tea available all hours. Use the provided ear plugs if you have rooms facing the street. Tends to be noisy late night and early morning.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay in Capitola. Right in the heart of the downtown restaurants and shopping.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Cute hotel right by the beach and fun restaurants. Walking distance to everything
- 5/5
This was a very nice place centered in downtown. Plenty of food and shops and beach access. The staff were friendly and nice. We will be back
- 5/5
Employees were great!
- 3/5
Good place to stay. Walking distance to beach, restaurants and shopping. Parking is a challenge. Stayed here many times. Staff not very available. Love Capitola!
- 5/5
Great location. Seconds away from the beach. Can be a little noisy at times being so close to the action, but still worth it.
- 5/5
Not for you if you’re looking for quiet.
- 1/5
Don’t stay here. The beds are feel like sleeping on concrete with a a thin camping pad. But don’t worry, you won’t be sleeping because the noise from all the drunks on the street will keep you up to at least 4 AM. They even put earplugs in the room which do not help at all!
- 5/5
Very comfortable and convenient.
- 5/5
Very cute place to stay, perfect location definatley stay there again
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay at the Capitola Hotel. It's right across from the restaurants on the beach and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do in the beach area. The hotel has a nice outside seating area so we could relax outside in the shade between outings.
- 1/5
Horrible stay!!! Staff has an issue with communication. Housekeeping kept walking into my room while I was in bed. Creepy!! Let the front desk know I had a late checkout and she was rude and brushed it off. Never staying here again!
- 4/5
Right next to beach, you can’t beat the location. The room was clean and small. The hotel has a bed and breakfast vibe.
- 5/5
Everything was great!!
- 5/5
This is a special little place!
- 5/5
Very nice and professional staff. Location is excellent.
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing property to stay at! We will definitely be back!
- 3/5
It’s cute but it smelled upon entry. Musty. And extremely small. I had the biggest room and it was still small. I know it’s a boutique hotel but damn. My only complaints inside. The outside it just gets noisy bc restaurants and bars are across the street. Beach is walking distance but capitola is not what it used to be. The damage from storms is really bad :/
- 5/5
Perfect !!
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Such a wonderful stay. Thank you!
- 5/5
One of the best places
- 5/5
Easy access to the Village.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved the room, the service, everything was 150% excellent!!!!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel in a perfect location. We never moved our car. Restaurants, entertainment and the beach were all within a block. Very friendly staff and comfortable room.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and easy to find. The staff, Jacqueline, Mark at check in and Sasha at check out, were so friendly and great,
- 3/5
Ours was the room right on the street (with 2 queen beds) and they provided earplugs which we forgot to use. It wasn't a problem until 5:30 in the morning when the trash truck did its thing and then at 6:00 when restaurant deliveries started. In my opinion the coffee/breakfast should be available earlier for travelers.
- 5/5
It’s a small Hotel in the Heart of Capitola. Cute rooms and friendly service - Sasha the manager is terrific. Awesome place to stay- highly recommend Capitola Hotel
- 5/5
We had a amazing stay and Sasha the hotel manager was so professional and helpful. They went up and beyond to make our stay wonderful
- 5/5
Manager Sasha went above and beyond to make our stay a great one!
- 5/5
The room was clean and the bed was great! We were right in the heart of capitola, once we parked the car we were able to walk to everything we needed.

- 5/5
Very quaint and right near the beach and inlet. Great little town and walkable. Wonderful dining options right across the street.
- 5/5
The Caymen room was perfect--great beds, little kitchenette. The location is ideal in the heart of the city across from the ocean
- 5/5
Great place and location.
- 5/5
Loved the staff and location
- 5/5
Great stay. Thank you
- 2/5
After requesting an ADA room, I arrived and there was no rooms available. They have to elevator to the floors above.
- 5/5
Very nice clean little hotel in the center of town was a little noisy but that's expected when you stay directly across from the restaurants and bars that are Oceanfront
- 5/5
This place is just as I thought it would be, AMAZING!!!
- 5/5
It's very nice location easy to walk to restaurants and the beach ,we stayed two nights and loved it.
- 5/5
In addition to the perfect location, this hotel was immaculate. Comfy sheets and towels, very friendly staff.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel. Stayed in the Martinique suite which allowed us our own entrance to our room rather than going through the Lobby.
- 5/5
My niece and I were very happy with the Capitola hotel. When entering into our room, decor was done very well. It was just what we were looking for. It has the cutest patio area. The front desk was very friendly. We liked our room. It was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We will surely be returning.
- 5/5
Location is perfect, check in was easy and early. Room was great, linens perfect.
- 4/5
Lost a star because the air conditioner didn’t work. That made our overall experience less than stellar because a grunge band began around 10pm across the street until about midnight. I was forced to open all our windows and run the fans because of the lack of AC. I feel we wouldn’t have been bothered had we had the window closed. I had trouble hearing the television whenever the bar opened their doors. That being said I loved the outdoor seating area, the convenience of location and how clean it was and how sweet the staff was. They let us check in much earlier than 4pm and we parked in their garage for just $35. I’d come back.
- 5/5
Very nice. Only thing I'd change is a nightstand on each side of the bed, and a few more electrical outlets. Breakfast much better than expected. Fresh coffee!
- 5/5
It was the perfect location to walk around our entire trip. The service was good and over a really nice stay. I will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Hotel in the middle of town so can park and not drive anywhere in downtown village. Parking pass provided which is wonderful as parking difficult in this small village
- 5/5
It was amazing! I found parking within 5 minutes of arriving, the hosts were so friendly, and it’s so quaint and clean and close to everything! I was a little nervous because I have two small kids but it’s perfect- we ate our breakfast in the courtyard, we stayed on the first floor in the paradise island room, and it’s right in the heart of Capitola village for those single mamas who don’t want to lug strollers and kids toys in and out of their car… you can literally walk everywhere. They even have a small shower head for the littles. It’s also really nice for a romantic getaway.. exceeded my expectations. I heard close to nothing at night even though the nearby restaurants had live music. 10 out of 10 recommend.
- 4/5
Walking distance from everything
- 5/5
Charming!!!
- 5/5
Awsome staff, very clean nice place to stay, parking can be difficult. Once you park your car you can walk just anywhere you wish
- 5/5
Mark was an outstanding host and was most helpful with anything I needed. I think you day person is Julie and she was kind enough to arrange for me to have her parking spot right in front of your hotel!!!
- 5/5
Nice location in the heart of Capitola.
- 5/5
Everyone was amazing and friendly
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time staying here for our 11 year anniversary. The staff reached out to ask if we wanted something extra for our anniversary. Thank you to the staff for the beautiful flowers and chocolates. Everything was in walking distance. The bed was super comfortable.
- 3/5
Too expensive for the room and stay!! 4 spiders in room! Loud outside!!
- 5/5
This is a great property. Right in the center of everything. We parked our car and walked everywhere until it was time to check out. The room was very nice!!
- 5/5
Absolutely loved the hotel. My room was clean and really nice. Comfy bed, nice bathroom. I loooved the private entrance right outside. Very cool.
- 5/5
The Hotel is right across the street from Margaritaville in the Village. Close to the beach and restaurants. No fighting traffic and finding parking. Public bathrooms are few and far between. So, it is nice to go to your room instead of waiting in line.
- 4/5
Great location but very noisy and did not describe parking situation on website. You have to find street parking which is next to impossible on the weekends even if the pass they provide. We were hoodwinked into paying an additional $45 to squeeze into a small spot adjacent to the hotel. Nice staff and friendly. Small rooms.
- 3/5
I stayed in one of the rooms at the front of the hotel, and it was quite noisy at night and early in the morning. The hotel does provide earplugs right on the bedside table, but they weren't enough to block out the noise. Other than that problem, I had a fine stay.
- 5/5
Excellent staff . Thanks Julie
- 5/5
Perfect location being steps away from the beach and a stoned toss to multiple restaurants. The staff is very friendly and sets out a nice breakfast every morning. The parking pass worked great even on a Memorial Day weekend. Can’t wait to stay in this clean and cozy gem again!
