OYO Waterfront Hotel - Cape Coral/Fort Myers, FL

What a great little place right in the heart of Cape Coral,..very affordable..I couldn't believe every room had a full kitchen with a fridge, microwave and my favorite a coffee maker! and an oven and a stove! The rooms were very big and it was very nice to have a patio also..I'm going to stay here whenever I have more work up in Cape Coral.

This is the cutest darn place. It's on a canal, with water overlooks and little balconies, and it has kitchenettes. You can sit on your balcony and watch the sunset. I liked it.

Brian was very helpful and amazing! Definitely would book here again!

Although the hotel is not new, it is currently being renovated and well maintained. We had a great experience and highly recommend it. The staff were very kind, friendly, and always willing to help. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

The place smell so bad when you walk in the bed. The sheets was so filthy. I couldn’t even sit down in the bed. The floor was not even swept. The bathroom was not clean. Everything was terrible. I went to the front desk to try to change the room and he said nothing available. I’ll try to get a refund because that guy in the front name Mike told me that they was gonna refund me and at the end of the day they didn’t refund me nothing!!

I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean. There are no bugs. The water pressure is good and there is hot water. This property is on the water and my room has an outstanding view down the canal. Each room has a private balcony and a kitchenette. My room faces west ,so the sunsets are gorgeous. There is a nice pool area with 2 barbque grilles. The grounds are immaculate. The laundry area is big and very inexpensive washers and dryers. Brian, the manager, is the best. He is very friendly and extremely helpful should you need anything. This is an excellent place to stay.

For the price, you can’t ask for more, but they should at least invest a little more in cleaning the sheets, bathroom, and floors.

Wouldn’t stay again. It simply not a place I would stay again unless I had no other option.

There is always somebody available to answer any question. The property is very well maintained and clean. You could see somebody outside early morning cleaning and in the evening cleaning. Always a pleasure to stay there.

The room was very clean, it had a small stove and refrigerator, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly, helpful and understanding. I made a mistake on booking the second night and made it for one guest instead of two and we thought the hotel staff picked up the trash outside the door when we were supposed to bring it to the dumpster and my friend had her mom over while I wasn't there and after explaining the situation that I made a mistake during booking the second night he was very understanding and refused my offer to pay for two people and he said no but to please bring the trash out to the dumpster and to have her mother leave. He was extremely nice about the confusion I caused by mistake and we stayed the night with no issues and enjoyed watching the sunset from the balcony and just taking a break from everyday stressors. I highly recommend this hotel, it was quite, peaceful, and the staff and room were extremely nice and understanding

Was not able to use pool due to so many bugs floating in it. Laundry room had two washers, however, only one worked. Room very clean and large, looked like it has recently been freshend up. Still had some repairs to walls that needed to be painted. Had basic kitchen. I enjoyed the view of the canal.

This is an excellent place to stay. I have stayed here many times before. It is under new management. The rooms are clean. They have kitchens. The waterfront views are incredible with gorgeous sunsets. There is a beautiful pool. Fishing from the docks. The staff is wonderful.

There were bugs in our rooms (we got more than 1), what looked like poop smeared on the bathroom walls, the shower was angled toward the wall and you couldn't move it so you had to "hug the wall" just to shower. Our top safety latch was a random screw in the door that you would have to loosen or tighten to latch on, and the doors and walls could use a repaint or a serious cleaning because there's marks all over them. The cleaning ladies barely spoke any english, so communication was a problem. And at one point, we had an issue with our room went to the front desk and told them and that we did not want anybody in our room until we came back. When we had gotten back, it was beyond obvious that they did not listen to us and went in our room without us there. There were also no phones in the room to call the front desk/office. The pool furniture could use an update too, there were barely any (not like in the pictures, maybe 2 real tanning chairs total) and about 6-7 sitting chairs.

Absolutely disgusting. Pics on Hotels.com look great, hotel is a wreck. In renovation, no mention of this either. Booked and paid for the same day, they refused a refund even though we left without staying. No way was I spending the night. This property should not be listed until renovations are done and it's habitable.

This place was very efficient for what we needed. Nice location for where we needed to be. Nice people, friendly stall. Not the ritz but they are doing a pretty good fixing up stuff. Should Be a nice difference when they finished. The new owners like they serious about the updates. Goodluck folks!

This is one of the best places in Cape Coral to stay. And for the price it cant be beat. The staff was more than accommodating. The hotel itself may be outdated by standard, but clean, quiet, private, great views and for me, safe. If you have a chance look at some of the pictures around the propery as well. 10 star rating! If that were possible.

Air conditioning was effective, staff was very friendly and helpful especially Mike. Property could use some updating but our stay was great and we felt safe staying here. We loved fishing off the dock and relaxing in the pool every night.

This place is under construction, first glance is wth oh my but as you get passed a few things it’s really a decent place. I did laundry and hung out by the pool. I would stay again.

When I arrived at the property, the office was closed, so I couldn’t check in and had to stay at a different hotel. I called the customer service number, and someone from another country answered. She tried to contact the office or lobby but was unable to help me. I’m really disappointed with this experience—there was no guarantee or support for guests, and I feel like my money was taken unfairly.

The hotel def needs to be updated. Outside curb appearances was horrible, shame on them. The hotel def needs someone who cares about the property not just making money.

Much of the hotel is in disrepair. Chairs broken. Pool not heated. Dry wall patch on walls we stayed in. Good beds. No form of complimentary breakfast. Paid $142.

We were in the area for a last minute hospital shift and with limited options, this was the closest and reasonably priced. From the pictures it looks good. We were not expecting anything fancy; just a clean, safe, working condition place to sleep a couple of hours and take a shower. Oh my were we disappointed. Toilet does not flush, fridge never cooled, sink is clogged. Building is not kept up and it feels unsafe. If you can swing it book somewhere else. We left earlier than expected.

We stayed at OYO waterfront hotel for a few days. We had a good experience. The room was comfortable and safe and the staff was friendly. We had some time by the pool and the pool was clean and a relaxing way to spend our afternoon.

The room setup was actually pretty funny — it had a full-size headboard paired with a king-size bed, which clearly didn’t match. Honestly, the only great thing about this hotel was the view. The room has a musty smell, our sinuses started clogging up and caughing. We couldn't stay. Manager didnt charge us.

The room was good and the front office receptionists were amazing! But when it came to check out. No one was there at 7:30 am and we had to leave and come back before we could check out. Housekeeper accused one of my party of stealing a blanket and he has not seen or used a blanket or better yet knew there was a blanket on the top shelf. I will never stay there the next time.

No coffee maker in room as advertised (I did receive one when asked) No alarm clock. WIFI kept cutting out. Doors/walls very dirty. I cleaned something (feces??) off the side of the bathtub.

I've stayed here 3 or 4 times, it's quite decent, you get what you pay for. Good amount of TV channels but kinda odd options.The location is loaded with places to eat you can walk too. Front desk employees are always nice and helpful (unless you need sheets or blankets, good luck!) They definitely need to revamp the housekeeping.....

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in 100’s of hotels around the world. Totally outdated, dirty, loud, smells and 90% of people staying look like drug addicts. But absolutely the most rediculous thing is there is NO ONE AVAILABLE AT ALL FROM 12pm-8am!!! No one on site and no one you can call if there’s an emergency. They didn’t tell me my room key didn’t work on the back door and I had my front door deadbolted. So at 5am when I went out for coffee I was locked out of my room till 8am!!! Three hours in the dark, scared, in my pjs and no shoes. In the am when they finally got there they had no sympathy and offered me nothing. Horrible experience for anyone especially for Cape Coral.

I needed a convenient and reasonable priced hotel to stay for one week. This place is an excellent choice. It is quiet and very relaxing. Manager/Owner does a wonderful job of making you feel at home. So much so, that I’m staying an additional week. Convenient to stores, banks and restaurants.

Hotel still shows old name. Had a hard time looking for the registration office. Would recommend full renovation and upgrades. Not much parking space, right in front of main Street so cars noise is very strong, night surveillance would make family feel safer. Gentlemen at front desk was very professional. The bed, shower, sink and toilet were clean but the walls and doors were covered in what looked like poop finger prints. The door to the patio only had a deadbolt the latch mechanism was missing. The security latch on yhe room door was broken. The plug in the sink area for the blow dryer did not work.

I did not stay at this hotel. I tried to reach out to Hotels.com yesterday to see if I could get a refund as the front desk person, Mike said he would offer me a refund. But I got no response from Hotels.com virtually. When I got there, there was a car that was parked outside the front entrance and it was full of trash and other miscellaneous junk, and when you looked in the window, there was hundreds of cockroaches roaming the inside of it. There was a window that was open in this car was parked right in front of the main entrance. I thought maybe that die to this severe infestation there would be a very high chance that the room would have cockroaches. I did go in to look in the room to see if there are any cockroaches. I did not see any, but I felt uncomfortable with my first impression of this hotel and was creeped out by all the cockroaches. The room appeared to be cockroach free, however it was very dingy. I could not stay there.

I thought maybe that die to this severe infestation there would be a very high chance that the room would have cockroaches. I did go in to look in the room to see if there are any cockroaches. I did not see any, but I felt uncomfortable with my first impression of this hotel and was creeped out by all the cockroaches. The room appeared to be cockroach free, however it was very dingy. I could not stay there.

The room had a really bad odor. It was like I was sleeping under a rug because it smelled like concentrated dust. Could not fall asleep because of this horrible smell. Expedia should send secret shoppers to review this places before they promote them. Would not recommend to anyone to stay in this junk.

The location is amazing and the view of the canal is 5 stars but the tub had mold around it, dryer didnt work, mini kitchen area super dirty and needs paint and a good clean up...

The room had live roaches in the microwave and frig. The smoke detector was missing but the wires were there. The securtity privacy latch was removed from the door. Old, rusty appliances were in the kitchen. The pillows were dirty, had shams but no pillow cases. Another guest, across the hall, also had roaches. The actual room was misrepresented on Expedia's website.

The property picked it online is not the actual property, my room smelled of mold. It was old dirty. The walls had spots of different color paint all over with a patched holes. There was a deadbolt on the back door and no lock on the front door the windows were nailed shut it was, something out of a bad movie . I would never leave my dog in a place like that.

The TV didn’t work. It wasn’t very clean. I had a bad smell to it. It was very uncomfortable. I was up most of the night.

Well I arrived to find a broken head board lying on the ground. Half the lights in the room were either blinking or did not work. Five light switches in the room and two worked. Also there were two missing electrical outlets with no cover and one had exposed wires. Then there was no hot water four if the days I stayed. Then the pool was closed when I called in advance to see if the pool was open or was told yes. Upon arriving the pool was closed and management said it was open yet he would not remove the sign. I ran into the pool cleaner and he said he would not swim until n that pool it had barely touched bough suction for him to vacuum the pool and he said that the heater has electrical issues. I will return to Florida but will not ever stay here ever again.

Our room was not very clean. There were splotches of something on the bathroom door, the refrigerator was dirty and all woodwork was in need of painting. There were bugs in the sink and shower area. If it hadn’t been a holiday I would have left immediately.

This place is run down and in need of a complete makeover. Bed was uncomfortable, furniture looked like someone shop at local yard sales. The kitchen area had rusted cabinets, the water faucet didn’t work. The walls were not painted and appeared to be getting ready to paint. Would not and will not ever stay there again. Once you book it through Expedia there are no refunds, I can see why.

Person in office is very difficult to understand and wanted additional cash for a deposit, the room looks like it hasn't been renovated since it first opened. Television has wires hanging out around the table hanging over the ground making it easy to trip and fall to end up hurt. Bug infested, broken light fixtures and switches broken as well or missing panels having live wires exposed. The kitchen light does not work. There are so many problems with this hotel and room as well as for the staff on site, how is this place allowed on Expedia to profit and steal from its customers?? Tried to get it resolved in the office but I was told that's the room I rented on the Internet!!

There was no one at the front desk at checkout time; there was a lady attempting to check in early, but she stated that she had been there for a while and there was no one. I rang the manual bell, but no one came to the front desk, despite the fact that some personnel were speaking behind a glass door. Finally, a man employee arrived with a threatening and hostile attitude, yelling at us. BTW, it was approximately 9 a.m., he had a Middle Eastern accent and he did not wear badge or uniform

The front desk was very kind and obliging. Even when I wasn’t, the owner went above and beyond for me and I owe him my life. I didn’t even ask for my deposit back. He’s good man. I really appreciate all them. They were very nice. I don’t have family and I feel like they were like family.

The photos were nice, what we arrived to was the complete opposite of the photos, the room was run down and dirty with stained bed sheets, bathroom was just as nasty as it wasnt cleaned prior to arrival. The doors were damaged and the lights didnt work properly. Didnt even stay at the hotel and have to deal with Expedia for a refund. Do not recommend staying here

FILTHY! I refused to stay in such FILTH, they SCREAMED at me when I complained, refused to refund my money! It was during hurricane Milton, they were ripping locals off by putting reservation to nonrefundable, FORCING LOCALS to lose their money if they refused to stay in FILTH! HORRIBLE DRUG RIDEN ROACH MOTEL!! FILTHY!!

This place was absolutely disgusting, booked rooms for guys while we are down here fixing powerlines from the hurricane. We ended up leaving and getting rooms elsewhere front seat was no help and refused refunds. Do not ever book here it’s gross.

Horrible, we paid around 249 for 2 nights. I ended up renting another hotel and didn’t stayed the second night. We rented the hotel just to sleep, i wasn’t looking for amenities, but i need clean towels, sheets and bathroom at least. I did not recommend this place. Nasty bathtub, nasty towels, horrible mattress and sheets I can’t tell the color 😭🙈

I booked a room using hotels.com. I got there late in the evening. No one was in the office. It just so happened another couple had locked their room key in their room. There was a note with a number to call for service. It took multiple calls before anyone answered, the other couple got through to whoever answered first. Eventually, someone showed up who was at the hotel. That man let the other couple into their room, when I explained I booked a room through hotels.com, the man told me too bad, and that the office was closed!!!! I ended up having to sleep in my vehicle at a Walmart, after a very long day of travel!!!! I'm still pissed off!!!!!

Horribly dirty, roaches, hair all over bathroom dont recommend

Whole room smells musty and moldy. Floors feel slimey to walk on barefoot. Doorknob to the balcony was broken and road noise was deafening all night long. Office staff was friendly at check-in but let us know there isn't always someone on site.

Listing clearly states 24 hour front desk and does not list an end time for check in. I booked this around midnight as a last minute arrangement. Arrived at the hotel shortly after and a sign on the door stated call for service. The office was locked up. There was a ring doorbell that was shattered and not working. Place looked very run down. Called the number multiple times and just got a voicemail box which was full. Finally got through to someone who answered and said the front desk was closed (before I even made the reservation). He said to take it up with Expedia and hung up. I contacted Expedia who has then called the hotel, but since it's a non-refundable booking, they refuse to refund. This is absolutely insane to me. I booked based on the information in the listing, I showed for my booking, they did not provide service And are keeping the money. Thieves.

Pretty much only for resting while we were out partying and sightseeing. Id definitely recommend it.

The front desk was not friendly. Check out is at 11:00 they came knocking on our door at 10:56 demanding we leave the room, mind you it wasn’t anything to do with us we were quiet and they certainly weren’t full that they needed our room, just rude.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel, but after we saw the room we considered sleeping in the truck for the night. When we arrived there was nobody in the office, but luckily a nice person staying there helped us. When we finally got a person in the office, he was very kind and accommodating to our requests (ground floor, close to our truck, etc.) HOWEVER, when we got to the room, the swinging lock on the door was busted off on the front door, and on the back door leading to the patio the same thing had happened, but they replaced it with an industrial sliding pin lock. The bed sheets were stained with strange yellow and brown stains, the lamp shades had strange brown stains on it, there were smeared hand prints on the walls, patched drywall with no paint, dirt on the floors, broken furniture and peeling shower, the list goes on. The area isn’t extremely unsafe, but if I had not been with my boyfriend I would have turned around and left. We booked this hotel last minute as a cheap option, and we definitely overpaid at $111 for one night. The only reason it got 2 stars is because the view of the water from the patio was beautiful, and we had a place to rest our heads. Other than that, I do not recommend. We will never go back to this hotel.

I never got to stay there. No one greated me at check-in. My writings are just from the outside of the building. It looks as if you can pay by the week and stay at the establishment or by the day. I was in fear for my life just for being in the parking lot. They took my money and are saying I was a no show that’s a lie. No one was there to check us in look at the pictures below .

Horrible this was the worse experience I had. Hotel is dirty, poor maintenance, bed sheets have yellow spots, kitchen and cabinets rusted and in bad shapes, room walls have holes, mold in the shower and the list goes on and on, No recommended

The check-in gentleman was very friendly even though it was hard to locate the actual check-in desk. The outside of the building left alot to be desired which was the same for the inside. There were broken fixtures all throughout the room and the lock on the door didn't have a latch, we had to use a chair to feel it was secure. I could feel the literal springs in the mattress, and the water was luke warm at best. Compared to the photos provided when booking the hotel, it was a total bait and switch.

There were roaches in the kitchen area and the receptionist was rude and acted like he didn’t want to allow me to stay there because it was later at night.

The rooms smelled musty. The room I stayed in was horrible. The smell was so bad I had to sleep upright in a chair with my face mask and blanket over my face just so I could breathe. Checked out as soon as I could and would not recommend this to anyone.

Broken handles, unfinished walls, messy bed, the front office had a broken overhead light, the closet hang up area was in terrible shape. Guests were making noise in the hallways until 3AM! DID not get restful sleep

Shower had luke warm water at best, and all fixtures loose in the wall. Shower curtain rod was supported loosely on top of the shower insert. Otherwise the stay was comfortable.

This is a one star motel at best. Staff was friendly, but a sub standard room.

The hotel does not have an elevator to second floor. The door out to the porch didn’t close well and excessive traffic noise was heard late into the evening.

The front desk person was surly. Cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. There were many code violations. Bare electrical and trip hazards.

There was a man peeing in the bushes. NO security at all super sketchy. None painted areas. In process of remodeling. Can’t tell where office is.

The room he gave me was being repaired. Floors were dirty...broken bathtub...lights out...blinds broken...broken door locks...outside view of parking lot. Hotels.com gave it a 7 out of 10...I give it a solid 3. I only tried this Hotel because of the discount that I recieved on line (Platinum). It was so overpriced to the point that I think theyowe me. Me and my company will not stay there again.

We were here for a soccer tournament. The stay was pleasant and one of us even used the pool on the Saturday night. The front desk person was courteous and professional. The room definitely met our criteria for a place to relax and sleep.

Dirty sticky floors. Room smells musty from mold with black mold stains showing throughout. Very Poor maintenance and cheap looking repair. towels were stained and felt as if they should of been retired in the 70’s Truly a horrible experience. When I confronted the staff with thaws issues. Staff doesn’t care. I Would not stay there again if they paid me

Roaches in the room

The room was NOTHING like the photos pictured on Expedia website . The king mattress was leaned up against a queen headboard , not comfortable and very noisy , the air conditioner unit was coming off wall , the bath sink counter was coming off the wall , holes in the bathroom wall , no hot water . Room was disgusting. The coffee maker still had coffee grounds in the pot and coffee maker was filthy. Why is this place still offered on Expedia when I was told by Expedia customer service that there had been other complaints !!! I have photos .

This place is the definition of false advertising. Bright cheery rooms? Wrong. Absolutely wrong. You’re welcomed with the strongest chemical fragrance to cover the black mold smell. None of the chemicals were actually used to clean the room. Black mold clear as day in the corner above the shower, along with other water damage still happening from the room above. The sink is cracked and barely drains. The doors are covered with dirt and grime. Mini fridge doesn’t cool. Stove top pans needed to be replaced forever ago. Outlets don’t work unless you prop something under to keep things charging. Holes and patches all over the walls. Ants and cockroaches will be all over the kitchenette and bathroom. All this and more was brought up to the “manager/boss” Phillip and he became hostile and disrespectful. Called my boyfriend and I liars about the cleanliness and bugs. His attempt at righting this after being screamed at, was to give us a different room, in the exact same shape. For my own sanity and safety, we left to a much better hotel. Hopefully they will use my donated paid night to fix something. Highly, highly advised to avoid. I also took pictures of the property and sent to Expedia.
