Was only one of two available options that evening. Okay for somewhere to sleep; wouldn’t want to “vacation” there as there were no amenities and there seemed to be some long term tenants staying there as well. Room was clean.

We’ve stayed here multiple times and normally the facilities are fine, however when we arrived an 18 wheel was in the parking lot with its generator on. It stayed there all night and kept the entire hotel up. It finally let early in the morning at about 5am. This was unacceptable for anyone staying at the hotel.

The first thing we noticed about room 106 was that the door didn't close well; it was missing the strike plate. Even with the deadbolt latched, we worried that someone could push the door in. The toilet ran the whole time we were there. There were things in the closet (tampon), no grab rails in the shower, and the bottom of the shower was slippery. The water in the shower pulsed while taking a shower, not sure if this was because someone else was using the water elsewhere on the property. The bathroom sink had a very slow drain...maybe clogged? The heater was very loud. There were lines on the TV like the screen was getting ready to die. Overall, the room was very tired. Not sure if the whole facility was like this or only this room, because we had a pet. If this is what you call a pet-friendly room, then the extra charge for the room is overpriced. I would never stay here again. If all the rooms are like this, then it's time for an upgrade. The rooms were very pricey. We only stayed here due to the proximity to our travel plans.

Wonderful place to stay on the southern eastern shore. Units have full kitchens. You could stay here for a night or for a week!

The room was dated and basic, but impeccably clean. Also, we loved the beautiful barn swallows that nested around the hotel. The refrigerator had some rusty spots on the exterior and the room was very basic, but everything was clean, and worked.

The stove didn't work, the strip on the floor between kitchen floor and carpet was not attached and kept tripping on it. The trim on around the floor was peeling. The place is in need of serious maintenance.

Rooms were spacious, clean, so serene! Comes with a nice kitchenette, stocked. Closet door mirrored. It actually has a pantry. These could actually be comparable to vacation condos. It’s in the middle of a field, not busy. I actually would stay there a week. Price was reasonable. A few maintenance and housekeeping issues. Mostly minor things. It appeared someone cooked and threw a skillet or grease into the fridge side. I didn’t cook but tried to scrub it with the kitchen sponge. It also needed an over cleaning. Maybe a steaming treatment for both. I didn’t cook but noticed it after the first day. Also post toppers outside missing. One soft spot on second floor decking opposite from office. No breakfast BUT McDonalds and Hardee’s are close by as is Food Lion and Dollar Tree. Staff weren’t there to inform so listing it here. (We left early and used the drop box for the key…) But overall was very pleased.

Quiet, either newer or relatively new renovation. Good views. No problem finding it. Pretty nice! Kitchenette could belong in a lot of houses. It’s only missing a dishwasher for that purpose. Could definitely live in a space this large. Has GFCI outlets, a microwave, some included kitchen wares to use. Stove oven and apartment sized fridge. Really comfortable heat/air system. Location is right on the Lankford HWY/US 13. the room could fit one or two more beds. Very generous homey size. The bathtub is a step up. It wasn’t bad but that and the stairs no elevator would be treacherous for someone who is older and or someone with children. Would definitely want a first floor room in those instances. The decking is very pretty and it feels like a southern front porch.

No chairs to sit in

The location is great and it is a quiet area. Our deadbolt wouldn't lock and yes, it is very unlikely that someone would get in but I travel solo and often for work and if that was the case, it would have bothered me that staff said there is nothing they can do about it that night, not even an offer to change rooms. The refrigerator was very dirty on the outside, not worn which is understandable but just not cleaned so I did that before using. This motel is the only game in town during this time so you make do. It wasn't horrible, just not worth the $160 I paid which included a pet fee.

The location The shower water pressure was horrible. The bathroom sink was clocked. The kitchen was not even minimally stocked. The blanket provided was full of sand

The location of our window was directly lite with an outside light. We were not able to draw the curtains. And my husband complained because our room was lite up like daylite.

Room felt "old". Broken blind at window allowed anyone walking by to see in. Also, lights on outside door with now way to turn off meant the room never got dark at night. It was like sleeping in the afternoon, not the evening. Shower/tub caulk was moldy (black mold).

the location was perfect, the room was well laid out - very clean and quiet. I can imagine it's a good place to stay in the season. The toilet had a little leak from the tank (maybe the stopper was not 'seated; well over the hole), so we heard the re-filling of the bowl all night.

Would have gave them a five but there was a utility truck in the parking lot that had its emergency lights on half the night. Rooms are always clean and the people are always nice.

Location only. This place was horrible. No heat. Unit was not working at all. The whole unit was dirty. Flooring needs to be replaced. Mattresses need replacement. Refrigerator. toaster, coffee pot. utensils. Just about everything needs to be replaced. Towels, face cloths are very old and yellow. Cable TV was not working as well. Unbelievable! This place should be condemned and by right I should be reimbursed for my stay. If you don’t believe what I’m saying in my review, please visit and stay the night. You will see this is no BS!

Full Kitchen was helpful to have to start the day with breakfast and prepare lunches to go. Water pressure in shower not great. Overall it worked well for our short stay, was convenient to where we wanted to go, comfortable nice big bed. Would stay again.

Very outdated. Door knobs were falling apart. Didn’t feel safe having our stuff in the room. Had to wait 30 mins past check in time because rooms were not ready.

That being said, the full kitchen offered a full sized stove with oven/broiler, sink and refrigerator with top freezer. However u works recommend you bring your own cooking utensils. There were no bowls of any kind, the sauce pan would have been rejected as a donation at Goodwill, it was so scratched and gouged as to make the not stick surface unusable. The baking sheet was severely warped. When i went to the office to turn in a dinner plate i found broken when i did a quick inspection upon arrival, staff said they didn't keep an inventory of what was in each room and they didn't have replacements because previous visitors often took the good did with them.

I travel with a dog, so I’m not a super picky hotel person, but I left here early. The door didn’t latch securely, and I ended up pushing the chair against the door and my suitcase against the door. Everything felt somewhat sticky, so much so that I wiped down the nightstand, counter, and table. I pulled the bedspreads immediately, which I don’t normally do. The shower curtain looked gross, so I skipped showering. The nightstand was missing a leg…well, technically it was under the nightstand, so not missing but not attached. Then the bed collapsed when my dog stood on it. He’s not that big of a dog, and he wasn’t even jumping. He was just lying down and stood up and it collapsed. The lady at the front desk was pretty apathetic and said there were no other rooms. It was a busy season, so I couldn’t find any other place to stay. Luckily, it was a two bed room, so I didn’t have to sleep on the collapsed bed. The one positive note is that the gentleman at the desk in the morning agreed to let me cancel my remaining nights, but it looks like they double charged me for the pet fee!

Stayed here for the evening with my kids and needed a dog friendly hotel. Out of all the hotels this had the smallest pet fee of only $25! When most hotels are charging $75. the kitchen was a huge plus for me that way i could stay in and cook without having to spend extra money or worry about leaving the dogs unattended. If your traveling with kids just know there are no amenities to keep the kids occupied , like a pool etc. But it was quick overnight stop after a long days drive and was perfect for our situation.

This is a perfect stop for us as we drive from New York to OBX, but this year the flies were pretty bad. We spent a good portion of time trying to kill the ones that got into the room. The room is a great size, and having a full kitchen is nice. The AC was great, and beds were comfortable.

Five miles from downtown Cape Charles, convenient location. Room clean but no housekeeping one of three days. Says has full kitchen. Refrigerator rusted and smells like fish. Only one drinking glass. No sharp knife or pans.

The price was raised because of the 4th July. That's fine, but the mandatory charge for 1 night to book the reservation was another issue. Then not being able to pay balance the day of check in was crazy. Had to pay 5 days before check in or threatened to cancel our reservation with no refund of 1st night. CRAZY!

Arrived at 3pm for check in. Was told rooms aren't ready it'll be about 3:30pm from the front desk guy who seemed to have an attitude. We rented 4 rooms, not a single room is ready. Rooms are big however the door locks on 2 of the rooms are sketchy, the doors are loose when closed and door knobs feel like they are broken. Location is ideal and rooms are large but sadly it is badly managed.

It was okay. There isn't a lot of options around Cape Charles. We had a dog so wanted a suite so we could eat in. However, there were no kitchen utensils, no pots, no bowls. I wasn't expecting that so I had to pick up disposable plates, bowls, utensils from Food Lion (not eco-friendly) and then buy a pot from the smelliest Dollar General ever. The rooms are big but not a lot of lights or chairs.

We liked the location and the size of the room. Kitchen was large but had few supplies if you were staying there any length of time. We were assigned first to a room where the heater wasn't working. The reftugeratie had rust.When we told the woman that the heat wasn't working, she did immediately change us to another room and the heat was fine. Close to town and grocery. Would stay again

Uncomfortable mattresses. (No foundation?). I haven't gone back to verify but, almost certain that I requested/reserved a king bed. Quite clean room and property.

Room infested with roaches. Highway noise. Blinds only filtered the harsh lighting from the outdoor walkway illuminating the room and making sleep difficult. Old filthy carpet. Good for travelers with dogs.

This place was perfect...our only complaint was that the coffee pot wouldnt work...but we just bought some instant coffee...problem solved

A couple of the lights were not working - one in the bathroom, one bed-side. Otherwise all fine.

On the plus side, the property is convenient and the price was right. We have stayed here many times, but this will be our last. The coffee maker did not work, hairdryer was broken and smelled like it was burning, there are not enough plates, we had to ask for silverware, the bed was not comfortable, and the door latch jammed and was very difficult to open. We will not be returning.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was very spacious and pretty well equipped. Slept well. Easy in and out and parking.

We would never , ever go back to Shore Stay Suites of Northhampton County Virginia.

Our room was large and comfortable, check in was easy and friendly. The location is right on the highway which was not a problem for us - we had beautiful sunrise views and it was peaceful. There was not anything walkable from us but we were there just as a place to sleep. The floors, bathroom, bedding and surfaces were very clean, however the interior of the kitchenette cabinets and some of the dishes were dirty. That was the only issue and I did not address it with staff since we were only making coffee. I would stay there again and have no doubt they would address any concerns!

I was amazed by the room decor and the cleanliness and the abundance of towels. They thought of everything! I would definitely stay here again!🙂

Better than expected ! this was a family owned property where it was evident the owners had done many renovations and updates and their care showed. One night stay and would recommend.

Room was very clean. Air was on and room nice and cool after a hot day of site seeing. Upstairs noise was so so. Could have been some excited kids but finally settled down. I would definitely plan on staying here again.

This was a really nice hotel and the staff was wonderful. The beds were a little too soft and the pillows flat but they were clean and that’s what matters to us. The kitchenette had a few dishes but by no means was it stocked with what we needed. I loved how spacious our room was.

I made the reservation through Expedia about 3 months ago. At the time I called the property and asked for a fee waiver for my ESA dog. I spoke with the manager and he said it would not be a problem. Then yesterday he said he didn’t remember our conversation and made me pay the $25 fee. I am not happy about that.

I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious and nice our room was. We only needed it for an overnight stay, but it was great, and I can see why people would have extended stays. The staff checking us in and out were very friendly.

Great customer service, late due to illness and very clean.

Room was adequate. Our problem was the ever present of 4-5 flies during our whole stay. They buzzed our faces at night. Also, there were a number of birds' nests in the walkway outside the room. The chairs and outside steps were covered with bird poop. A little maintenance attention could have alleviated the problems. Certainly not what we expected. When we checked in, the computer was down and we had problems off and on with the WiFi connection.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this suite was spacious, clean and updated. The owner is very nice.

I would not recommend this hotel. There was an extreme amount of bird droppings. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen at a hotel/motel

Nice quiet, comfortable, room

It’s dated, but everything works as it should. The WiFi is excellent! The kitchen, however, is lacking in cleanliness. There is a sign in the kitchen that states housekeeping is not responsible for dirty dishes. As such, the prior occupants left a mess (dirty pots and pans, and the remains of a dead animal in the warming tray under the oven). There are also two broken-down automobiles in the parking lot that should be removed to allow for more parking and take away the, “sketchiness” of the facility. Despite these shortcomings, I’d stay here again.

The room was large and clean, if a bit dated. We did not need to use the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable for those who like soft beds (we did) Air conditioning worked fine, but the window unit did make some noise at night. The location is convenient to a lot of great places Manage expectations and you will be happy. this is a motel, not a resort. Checking in and out were easy for us.
