Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its proximity to the airport, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, common complaints include issues with the shuttle service, breakfast quality and variety, and room comfort, particularly the beds and pillows.
- Close to the airport
- Clean rooms and facilities
- Unreliable shuttle service
- Poor breakfast quality and variety

Besides my bed feeling like an old pullout sofa bed (really, Hampton Inn??), the check in experience was terrible. The staff member was very unhelpful and continued to double down on an unreasonable position. I’ve never had an experience like that, in fact ever.

The breakfast was not very tasty, but there were a lot of grab-n-go options, more than a continental breakfast. There was a waffle station which seemed to be good. The eggs were not good and the oatmeal was not very good either, but if you top them off with the condiments, that would make it OK.

Very clean. Staff is helpful. Breakfast is a big hit for us. Downside can be the airport noise. This is our go to when flying early from SFO.
- 5/5
It wasn't clear before booking (or I missed it) that the shuttle from the airport stops at 9:25am. But the room was great, bed comfy, and good continental breakfast.

First impressions the place looked and felt dated. The room itself was much better than the public area so we were pleasantly surprised. There is no bar at this hotel nor any coffee lounge and the only food was breakfast. The breakfast had a variety of choices and was all self serve. My only complaint of the breakfast was the bacon which was thinner than a cigarette roll up paper and was pieces of fat held together with the odd bit of meat, some folk would like this , I don't. I much prefer short back. By far the biggest complaint was that they took $33 from my account to pay for a movie that they say we watched and which I told them we didn't. Despite arguing for a week or so over the phone they would not relent. So to have it inferred that I am dishonest and a liar has helped me to decide never to use this hotel or it's sister hotels again. The Marriot hotel across the road was where we got our refreshment and loads of information from Amanda behind the bar. Maybe we will stay there next time.

Great place to stay for a short vacation in SF. However, we dont like the smell of the pillows. It is musty and old. Staff are very helpful with our needs. Shuttle doesn't follow the schedule

Room was very clean. Property well maintained. Continental breakfast was a plus, basic foods as expected. Be careful as the shuttle from the airport only runs during certain times. The public transit is very close and can drop off and pick up in front on the hotel to take you to the airport and even directly downtown San Fransisco for less than $4!
- 5/5
Room was very nice on the 4th floor. Staff was friendly, and good free breakfast.
- 4/5
Breakfast had TONs of options, very good. Clean place overall. There was not a single staff member that was actually welcoming or friendly. They do their jobs but that was all. Pillows were soft but beds were hard. MUST PAY FOR PARKING $35 per night.
- 3/5
The bed is a standard spring mattress and am used to memory foam.
- 4/5
I missed the 9:15A shuttle to SFO which was a bit inconvenient. I liked that property kept prices low. Close to New England Lobster open air restaurant which I love. I will be back. Thank You
- 5/5
Room was very clean and the view of the Bay was cool. We had to pay extra for parking but that was fine because it is a gated lot so we felt safe. Very close to shopping and restaurants. It is only 5 minutes from the airport so that was great!

Last shuttle just met my flight in time but times of shuttle should have been posted prior to booking. Otherwise 9/10

Staff was very nice and helpful, room was clean . Good breakfast. The only problem with this hotel was the Airport shuttle. The shuttle is not available 24 hours . Only from 5am to 9am and then from 5pm to 9pm , it is a little disappointing, in between those hours, there is no shuttle available.
- 3.5/5
There was a convenient airport shuttle. There was a nice walking path across the street from the hotel along with several nice restaurants within walking distance. The window opened allowing fresh air. From the walking path, you can watch the planes lining up to take off and land - very cool. A bit dated but quite functional. Someone had tracked ketchup or jelly on the main lobby floor and I cleaned it up. The remnants were still there the following morning so not fully attended to by staff.

Location with the hotel was. The staff was very friendly. A little below average. Not that the food wasn’t fresh or anything just not a lot of options. The accessible bathroom shower drain over ran every time you showered that’s something I think they can be fix

Entire hotel was bright and clean . The only complaint was the bathroom tub- not comfortable getting into the shower - only had one safety bar and needed another one at the other side - tub was slippery
- 4/5
The having to pay for parking when am a guest there already .
- 3/5
The staff is not really helpful and friendly. Never reply message or phone call even they are not busy there. We kept calling from airport to check about shuttle service coz we arrived quite late but never get answer. Location closed to airport so it was easy for short connecting flight.
- 3/5
Since the hotel didn’t share the whole schedule of shuttle before the trip, I just the shuttle would pickup between 5pm to 11pm. We waited over 35 minutes for shuttle. After getting the shuttle, it took over 20 minutes to hotel because the driver went to gas station to fill gas. So i remove 1 star. Another issue was the air conditioning was very lousy. However the breakfast was very good and the staffs were very niceI think it is still a good hotel to stay.
- 5/5

Nothing. Front desk attendant wasn't very kind and didn't not provide us information on any aspect of our stay. She simply just asked if we wanted to join Hilton Honors. She didn't provide information on free wifi for members or any perks associated. She didn't tell us where to find the elevator or our room or how to pay for parking on our way out. The only thing she said was parking is $35 plus tax, and asked for the card on file. We came across the attendant who cleans rooms, no smile or greeting from them either, even when we said hello in passing. Our room was not equipment with toiletries - the shampoo and conditioner were both empty and the body gel was nearly gone. There was black mold and discolored spots all over the ceiling above the bathtub - which makes sense considering there was no fan system in the bathroom to clear moisture. We were also under the impression that parking was included in the overnight stay and it was not - that is $35+ taxes. We will not be returning to Hampton Inn properties moving forward.
- 5/5
Clean room and comfy. Easy check-in.
- 3/5
Carpet was really dusty and had fingernail clippings and debris on it. Shampoo bottle was empty.
- 5/5
Room spotless good stay.
- 3/5
Tried using the heater in the room. It only blew cold air. Told the front desk but nothing was done. Nights were cold on rainy days. Rooom good size.

Elevator broken before my stay and not scheduled to be fixed until after my stay. Black out curtains wouldn’t close and lights from out side lighted my room. The heater control in the room didn’t work and it was chilly in the morning. Bathroom light was on automatic switch and when it came on it stayed on long after you left the bathroom giving to much light to watch TV and the TV did not have a program guide! Oh and it sounded like I was on the run way with planes taking off and landing. I have stayed at both the Westin and Aloft and didn’t have that much noise!
- 5/5
Nice room and were able to check in early
- 2/5
Probably the worst Hampton Inn I’ll stayed at. Stayed on the 3rd floor with the elevator out of service . Which apparently has been broken for a while. Which you can till by all the foot traffic is the staircase. They close and open under new owners who care to donate basics in maintenance and cosmetics.. Might have to rethink of booking at Hampton Inns .

Convenience to sfo Breakfast was quick and easy Shuttles served me well, good times Heater too noisy All takeoff and landings drones in room it felt Check in stupid. Tkt. At gate Got room key that wouldn't open gate to leave location for dinner. Had to go inside and have clerk open gate by hand. Very annoying. Plus, asian woman disappeared so had to wait for her return. No bell at desk.

Unfriendly staff. The property needs an update and repairs. Equipment not working like ice machine down, front gates do not work. No stock for laundry soap. Out since Friday and staff do not know if there is stock.
- 4/5
Excellent location and staff. Older hotel in need of refurbishment but the hotel facilities are excellent and clean
- 5/5
The property is very nice. It is gated, and parking was $35 per night. The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff very nice and helpful, and the breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Lots of food choices within a mile or two
- 5/5
Great place. Awesome service. If for any reason you missed or gonna miss a flight so tou can not make it to the hotel. Call expedia 24 hours early so they can change it or pay extra for your reservation so that you won’t lose tour money or points.
- 4/5
Spacious room and generally quiet.
- 4/5
Was only there for a couple of hours to shower before a late flight.
- 1/5
HVAC was broken. The night desk attendant informed us he could move us, but they have been having issues with the HVAC for weeks and the new room was likely the same. He would not let us check a new room because he said it would be contaminated
- 5/5
Older hotel but clean. Can hear airplanes but it’s at the airport so it’s expected!
- 0.5/5
Nothing. I canceled this over a month ago, within the 24 hour cancelation period and they still charged me. I'm still fighting them now to get me money back. The kicker is, they told me they'd refund me, then changed their minds. I have it in writing though. I'll continue to Persue this. But I'd never stay there based on this alone. See above. They're not people of their word. Don't stay there, go to a LaQuinta instead
- 1/5
I didn’t like that we had to pay for parking. Unaware. Also, couldn’t get a free bottle of water
- 5/5
Room was very clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast first-rate and pc room that I needed to use, the best. Overall, a very impressive hotel.

The listed price is misleading, as it doesn’t include the $35 per night parking fee. Aside from that, the hotel is very good.

After a late night flight from Boston, checked in just after midnight and got some needed rest.

Staff was friendly!
- 2/5
The hotel was way too warm in the lobbies etc. the breakfast was sub standard and gross. The parking fees are way too expensive for someone staying in the hotel. The room was small and bed was extremely uncomfortable. The decor looked cheap. It was overall disappointing.
- 4/5
Rooms are clean, sheets are soft and comfortable.
- 5/5
Staff is very kind! Room was clean and nice! Enjoyed our stay!

We booked here for the airport shuttle but the hours it runs didn’t end up working once we arrived. Spacious and clean room. Lumpy pillow. Good breakfast!

EXCELLENT HOTEL....SERVICE...BREAKFAST....LOCATION...
- 5/5
Close to airport…shuttle available. Free breakfast.
- 5/5
It's nice
- 4/5
Nice property with big clean rooms. Was disappointed that the roomsndo no not have safesnfor your valuables.
- 4/5
Good self-serve breakfast included. We would have used their airport shuttle but the hours of operation were a little bit limited. I would definitely stay here again should I need something near SFO.
- 5/5
This hotel is very convenient for stays if you have business near the SFO Airport , However it is not close to Downtown San Francisco , but can certainly ride and UBER there
- 4/5
This hotel is very convenient if you are OK staying near the airport , there is transportation to Downtown through UBER or LYFT , the included breakfast is a plus but note that the free shuttle only works from 7 to 10AM and from 5 to 9pm so if you arrive or depart outside of that timeframe you will need to manage your transportation needs to and from the airport your self .
- 4/5
I wish guest get free parking
- 2/5
Blankets and sheets were not cleans and smelly
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
We often stay at Hampton Inn Burlingame. We appreciate the quiet night's sleep away from the noise of San Francisco. The beds are especially comfortable. The free hot breakfast is an added bonus.

The staff behind the desk were extremely helpful! They answered all my questions about returning my rental vehicle and arriving at the airport. Breakfast was good and the facility was clean.

Cerca del aeropuerto y el personal es ameno; siempre dispuesto a ayudar.
- 1/5
Run down property and the breakfast was poor quality
- 5/5
Easy access to airport. Clean and quiet. Great breakfast!
- 2/5
The hotel has self parking BUT we had to pay for the parking. First day we left for lunch had to pay $3.00. Left for a party had to pay $3.00. Stay over night had to pay $25.00. We were NOT happy with these extra charges. The site lists self parking but if you click on details in small print is states the $25.00 fee but nothing about the hourly in and out rate. Room was clean, staff were pleasant. Mattress is very hard and a strange loud banging occurred about every 2 hours the night.
- 5/5
Very clean!!
- 2/5
There was blood on a bed sheet and found that when I was about to sleep. Not so clean and TV was too old.
- 4/5
Hotel charges parking fee daily & hourly… it adds up! Not good at all.
- 4/5
The hotel is nice and we loved the breakfast. We did not like the fact that you pay for parking and if you leave they charge you to leave. When your traveling it’s such an inconvenience to be stuck at your hotel unless you want to pay a higher price for parking :/
- 3/5
The property itself was updated, clean, and the staff was freindly. Food choices after 7 pm were very limited to expensive 3 star sit down places. Parking would be negative stars if i could. It is PAY BY THE HOUR at $6.00 per hour with a MAXIMUM of $25. Arrived at 3:45 wanted to go out for dinner at 7 had to pay for 3 hours of parking at $6.00 so $18.00. Came back 8pm and left at 5am the next morning and had to pay $25.00 to get out of the parking lot. This ends up being significantly more than $25.00 per 24 hour period. In fact it was $43.00 for only 13 hours at the hotel. And NO Receipts available so I cannot get reimbersed by my comapy for the parking as I MUST have a receipt.
- 5/5
Quick overnight to death early plane.
- 3/5
Hotels.com states the Hampton has a restaurant and bar. It does not. Both are across the street. The shuttle schedule is weak with the last morning shuttle leaving around 9:15am. I dropped off my rental car the night before and did not see the shuttle at the airport two consecutive times on the schedule. I had to catch the shuttle to the hotel across the street... I will stay elsewhere next time due to mainly the shuttle
- 3/5
I like Hampton Inns because of their consistency. Of my stays, this one was fine, although possibly the worst. Building had been remodeled but shower curtain was stained and tub in not great condition. Breakfast was the usual Hampton Inn fare, but clearly the person cooking did not to the best job-things were overcooked.
- 2/5
Expensive parking and uncooperative staff.
- 5/5
Easy access to the airport with the convienent shuttle.
- 5/5
We are in a safe little spot for the evening and nice and close to the airport.
- 4/5
Close to Airport and waterfront park.
- 4/5
The fact that parking is $25 per day, but there's an extra charge each time you go in and out is double charging. This has never happened anywhere before.
- 5/5
Excellent location near the airport
- 5/5
It was quiet and very clean. The bed was a little on the hard side, but it could be good for people who like that.
- 5/5
Clean big rooms that are fresh smelling. With free shuttle from the airport and free breakfast. Parking is not free at $3/hour.
- 1/5
Sticky floors. Someone’s hair all over the bathroom super gross. When I checked in the lady at the front was super rude. When checking out same lady said I was all set but I asked about parking I haven’t been charged she pointed outside and said go pay there. I was confused. Better explanation of breakfast and parking would be appreciated. Not to mention a notice ahead of booking about the amount of construction around the entire building would have been helpful as well.
- 3/5
I normally lower my expectations when it comes to properties located near a big airport like SFO. Room size was average for this city but looked a little tired. Their parking cost structure was very unique. They charge $25 per night which is reasonable but then they charge you $6 every time you exit their parking lot. The sink drain was clogged and we run out of hot water in the shower (evening hours). Bed comfort was decent and considering the proximity to the airport it was fairly quiet. There is heavy construction next door with another hotel or apartments being built starting at 8am.
- 4/5
Overnight stay before a long flight overseas. The hotel location is convenient and within close proximity to the airport. The free shuttle service run every 45 minutes. The rooms are very spacious and the in house breakfast is suitable. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Was only in my room. No chance to see Al of property
- 3/5
Average Hampton inn. Staff unresponsive, Had to go looking for staff every time I left the carpark, kind of a pain.
- 3/5
Alright. Nothing special
- 1/5
Check in terrible costumer service unable to answer questions. Poor costumer service, parking horrible system bad , why not have a flat rate instead of paying every time you go out.
- 5/5
Very good locations to food ,airport and nice view of Bay
- 4/5
It was a decent stay; the breakfast option could have been better. The limited use of airport shuttle service was not what we expected.
- 2/5
Shiwer backed up. Toilet handle bŕoke we fixed. Could not use shower or tub.. second room tub would not hold water.
- 5/5
The lady at the desk was very welcoming.
- 4/5
Wish there was a safe located in the room and the single elevator was old and slow. A lot of shaking. Overall, my stay was pleasant.
- 5/5
Breakfast is great with plenty of options for the whole family
- 5/5
Fast and easy check in.
- 3/5
The olny good thing about this place is the clean room. Other than that. They front desk clerk yell at me because I ask for plastic forks and spoons. There is $30 parking fee and the breakfast sucks. No bacon no sauage. I definitely will not be coming back.
- 5/5
New property. Really good GYM and good breakfast.
- 5/5
They have a very good breakfast with many options for the whole family
- 5/5
I was not sure why there were no bananas for the continental breakfast. The first day was the only dsy i coukd eat banana for breakfast.
- 3/5
The shuttle bus doesn’t follow the schedule
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
The lady at front desk was rude when asked about the parking fee as this was an additional cost . This was a new a new feature as I have stayed here many times in the past without having to pay for parking - her explanation and overall interaction was brash
- 2/5
The shower was cold. Bathroom door didn’t shut all the way
- 3/5
The front desk lady was very helpful but seemed like her manager left her with no help. The room keys weren’t working so we were walked to our room. We walked into our room with the beds not made a bag of trash left in the room and clearly not cleaned or was still occupied. She then apologized and walked us to a different room with someone in there. The third room was clean and ready for us but the front desk lady seemed overwhelmed and was not informed what was gong on. Wasn’t her fault she handled it professionally but this should have never happened. The room we finally stayed in was quite clean and was good for our short stay maybe don’t leave your workers with no communication
- 4/5
This hotel is older and hasn’t seen a major update in a long while. The room was fine - clean, updated bathroom. Very close to the SFO airport with multiple shuttle times
- 5/5
The staff that checked me in was awesome after having horrible issues with United
- 4/5
The Expedia ad failed to indicate that the shuttle has a very limited operational schedule
- 3/5
At check in we were suddenly informed that parking was $30, and if something happened to our vehicle the hotel was not responsible. There was a homeless person who kept coming in and out of the hotel,, and as my husband and 9 year old son we’re pulling up saw her urinate in a bush in front of the Hotel. They next day she came back to breakfast and was grabbing food. My husband informed them again that she was in the hotel and the police had to be called.
- 5/5
Right next to the airport for convenience. I had an early flight and didn't want to drive that morning.
