Portofino Inn Burbank

The outside of the property is well maintained. The room cleaning was mediocre at best (not well vacuumed, dust, prints on the mirror). The staff is great - friendly & helpful. I didn’t make it to breakfast but I saw it being set up the night before during check in. Looked well stocked. Disappointed that there is no in-room coffee. Kind of a fun location if you are into TV & Movie filming locations.

This is a great place to stay in. I was not expecting how clean it was and to my surprise it had a mini fridge and a microwave. I will definitely be staying here again.

The staff is very courteous, kind and very helpful. Breakfast is minimal, but adequate for us. We stayed here many times and appreciate the lodging, location and care the staff takes to makes the Portofino Inn a wonderful place to stay.

Clean, updated rooms, quick easy check in. Coffee and juice available during office hours. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast. Easy walk to 7-11. Plenty of parking - we always got a spot right by our room. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. Anything near to LA can be sketchy but this was pretty good. This was our second time staying here and would stay again.

The location is great - central Burbank. The room was clean, the staff was efficient and helpful. No problems. One thing that was interesting was that the toilet in our room was evidently connected to the hot water supply. This made sitting on the toilet a warm and pleasant experience! Highly rated!

I really enjoyed my stay here.The staff were very friendly and when we went to the 711 late at night, as we walked back, we tried to open the front office.Door to get some free juice and it was locked.But a stuff notice from the parking lot and unlocked it and let us get some juice which was nice & he was really nice about it

Everything was great. The AC would just turn on and off so that was annoying. Other than that it was a nice stay. Parking was also convenient.

I like staying at Portfino Inn since it is very convenient to visit Universal Studios Hollywood and Griffith Park; as well as my friends in Burbank, Los Feliz, and Hollywood. I appreciate the free Hotel Breakfast and free Parking. My King size bed was very comfy. The hotel staff was friendly and I've stayed here before. I will stay here again.

This is my 3rd or 4th staying here. The owner and front desk are always friendly. It you flew in and didn't Drive there’s a 1 dollar bus or 1.75 bus that will take you to bottom of the universal hill where you can catch a free shuttle up to the park or a very short walk to Warner brothers. It’s very convenient and I am already to planning to stay here for my horror nights trip. The area over all is very quiet. The breakfast isn’t the Hilton but good for that it is and nice so you’re not hungry when you leave. They have a lot of options.

This is a nicely priced hotel close to lots of restaurants. The staff is so friendly. We've stayed here several times and it's always surprisingly quiet! Never had issues with noisy neighbors or excessive street noise.

The breakfast provided was the usual: prepackaged bread choices, fresh fruit, instant oatmeal, cereal and yogurt. There was coffee, juice andmilk as well.

The property was clean, but it was not in a good area. Once I arrived at the hotel, had I not paid in advance and it wasn’t refundable, I would’ve left and found another hotel. The room was clean however it was not updated, furnishings were old, the air conditioner did not properly cool the room and it was hot throughout the night, we wanted to call the front desk and complained or see if we could switch rooms, but the phone did not even have a cord to even connect to the wall. So if I needed something, I would’ve had to go back to the front office instead of call them.

This hotel is our go to lodging whenever we are in Burbank. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with plenty of parking and we enjoy the variety of the breakfast.

Breakfast was outstanding, with great coffee and a variety of options, including a selection of pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit. We would not hesitate to stay there again, and want to thank Alfredo for making our stay so enjoyable!

An amazing staff and a steal compared to the price of surrounding properties. A cute motel with a film history, if you need to stay in the area, look no place else. You will not regret it.

The Portofino was great. It is an older inn with modern immunities. The staff and especially the manager are very proud of the inn and that transitioned well to the service we got! The parking was FREE which is like a unicorn in this area. Lots of filming history at Franks restaurant which is on the same lot. The provided breakfast included some pastry’s, bagels, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit. If you’re a light breakfast person this is all you will need. I highly recommend staying here. The area is safe and close to lots of activities.

Breakfast was standard prepackaged fare, but the time were clean and staff was to friendly. Site has a rich Hollywood history, which made it an interesting stay. Some amenities, such as a smart TV or more comfortable mattresses, could use upgrades, but the price was fair for that too.

Parking was a little challenging in our truck, but other than that, the room was very clean, everything worked!!!! Staff was very friendly and polite. I found my new place to stay when I come over to visit my family in the future 😎❤️

This is my go to place in Burbank because it’s clean, comfortable and they are always friendly.

Shockingly, even with the Movie set going on. It was quiet and the room was clean and fresh. Will be going back and staying other nights soon

The rooms are quite decent, good bed and a sorta chaise lounge. LA was hot and the air conditioning worked good but being that the room is about 300sf the air is loud. The management was quite responsive and helpful, there was an internet problem that took a number of days to repair but they reduced my bill which I thought was very decent. If you’re into healthy breakfasts you’ll be disappointed, however cereal, bagels, yogurt, some fruit and a large array of cellophane wrapped pastries are available. It’s really close to Metrolink which I used and the area is both safe and convenient. It’s quite quiet there, and everyone seemed nice…management keeps eyes on the property. I’d stay here again.

The layout of the room was great. It was 10 to 15 min from universal studios and Hollywood walk of fame and the Hollywood sign. The staff was friendly, but the wifi was spotty and the breakfast was ok, it was mostly sweet snacks, cereal and oatmeal and coffee, was expecting more. The stay was pleasant.

The internet was fine. We enjoyed the location and it was very clean and secure. They have spent a lot of time renovating the property and it shows. I like to support small businesses and was happy to do so and would stay there again. If any constructive comments would be to have a higher temp hot water supply.

We were taken aback by how spacious the room was and how clean the place was. Unfortunately the wifi was down during our stay. But they offered a gracious discount for future stays. Continental breakfast offered. I would recommend getting a new toaster as it took a bit and still didn't toast as much as I would've liked it to be. Our sink water temp was not working properly, it was either super hot or cold, however, I forgot to report it, FYI, it was room 124. Location was conveniently located and near the freeway. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Portofino Inn for a nice, clean, quiet stay!

The area of town seemed pretty safe considering. I like the area more than the hotel. Lots of restaurants nearby. The deadbolt wouldn’t work in the room. It was just me & my kids so that was disappointing. If the area was more sketchy I would have changed rooms. The room is what you would expect a 2 star hotel to be like. Nothing fancy. Clean but not clean clean and very basic. The bath towels were like large hand towels. They were comically small. I am petite & it was insane, I can’t imagine any man using these towels. Nothing says you are at a low end hotel then a really bad towel in my opinion. Complimentary breakfast was nice to have. Nothing fancy. All grab and go type of food. Free parking was nice & convenient getting in and out of. The plants around the parking lot were nice even though some of them really need to be repotted. The restaurant filming location was cool to see. It would be cool if they offered a photo op inside once a day or something. I would say this is a nice two star hotel for a night. But I would never book it if the WiFi isn’t working and not stay for multiple days.

Stayed for three days while on vacation in the area. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Nothing fancy, but great if you're just needing a place to sleep. No pool but free parking and breakfast which was nice.

Our stay here was great! The room was clean and cosmetically updated. The mattress on our bed could have been updated as it did sag a bit. The manager and other staff were very attentive. The breakfast and coffee provided was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Burbank again and will recommend to anyone we know of going to Burbank. Thank you!

The inn is very clean and there is daily housekeeping. The only complaint would be that the housekeepers don’t pay too close attention. They don’t always make the bed and don’t seem able to leave the correct number of towels, wash cloths etc

We had good stay. The carpet wasn't vacuumed when we got there we started for two nights and the second day the carpet was not vacuumed . They only went in and put out new towel.

Great location. Friendly staff. Super comfortable room with ample space, fully equipped with even a frig and microwave?! Shower pressure is great, and breakfast was a great perk. (It was provided even if my rezzo said it wouldn’t be!). Parking is ample, well-lit, free. I’d stay here again. So cool to be on site where actual big-screen films have been made before! Fun perk only in LA. Thank you also for allowing us to check in early, it really made all the difference in the world. N/A

Staff was amazing. Breakfast was decent. Shampoos, soaps were really nice. Clean Door didn't have weatherstripping making the room loud and the lock didn't seem secure make me feel paranoid. Dressers were best up. Bed a bit too soft. Pillows were gross.

It was an easy, clean, quiet place to stay for one evening passing through the area. We were able to walk over to the downtown area and catch a movie and dinner. It was an easy, safe 20 minute walk.

This is an older motel, but they have renovated the rooms and have done a nice job with them. The staff is wonderful and very helpful, it’s incredibly convenient to be able to park right in front of your room, the rooms are clean, and it’s a perfect location. We will definitely return to this motel!

Room was clean but outdated, thin walls could hear the upstairs neighbors and all traffic. Breakfast options advertised were limited and small.

Great history of the property. Staff so friendly. Unfortunately, our bed sheets were stained and kind of grossed us out.

Didn't eat there

It was in a not really busy area and the property was enclosed, which was really nice. Didn’t feel like I was on the street and the staff were always super helpful Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like about the property. I thought everything was great. I do wish that the breakfast options were better and that there was a self-serve ice machine, but that’s just me being picky.

Honestly surprisingly, very pleasant! And the service was great! Definitely recommend it!

Nice people, rooms were clean & nice

Nice to have fresh coffee and an array of choices for breakfast. I felt secure in my room and comfortable. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy. It came on every time the light was turned on, so there was no turning it off unless the light went off.

Breakfast was not really breakfast, dry cereal, sugary yogurt, bagels, bananas, oranges and coffee lacking the coffee. There were no high protein cooked foods, low sugar or options for people who are lactose free.

The complementary breakfast had a lot of variety (much more then we had other budget motels at Disneyland). The morning manager Alfredo was very accommodating too. My son wanted to eat peanut butter and even though not in the menu Alfredo went and brought us a small brand new container of peanut butter and asked us to keep it. Overall very happy with our stay. The beds were comfortable, rooms are very spacious with microwaves. Free parking right in front of my room. Altough the building is old but I would stay here anytime I visit this area again

This place was close to everything! Very centrally located and an easy commute to Hollywood and Universal Studios. Also, nearby shops, great restaurants, and stores.

I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider going back next time!

I stayed here for universal so I wasnt in my room living there. They have breakfast option and the lobby will reopen from 10 to 2 am which is great if you want to coffee after a long day at universal or getting back from horror nights. Pink line bus 5 will get you to universal for 1 dollar if you flew didn’t drive. I’ve stayed multiple times and came complain.

Portofino Inn staff were professional and very courteous. My room was clean and comfortable.

--The sink water is sometimes hard to control. I had trouble getting back to cold from hot. --There are sometimes bugs in our room (some ants, and I had to kill a cockroach). --Re-open Frank's Restaurant. We loved eating breakfast there. If it had been open, it would have been so convenient for us since we were staying right there at the hotel. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and service was excellent.

It was a nice place to stay

I was worried because I’m so picky where I stay. I usually stay at major hotels but they are getting so expensive for overnight stays . I was nervous that this smaller and inn would not be up to standard. Happy to report very clean and comfortable room. Free parking ( never usually get that anymore) quiet atmosphere and friendly late night check . Will stay here again

Overall had a great stay. Play was clean, quiet and plenty of parking was available. The breakfast was also surprisingly good, they had a variety of options.

Mike, who checked me in, was very friendly and communicative, giving me good advice on places to eat within walking distance. The place is obviously of 1960s vintage and while the furniture in my room was showing some wear, my space was very neat and clean as was the lobby. Good choices at the free breakfast bar. It would be nice if the adjacent Franks's cafe was open for business but I think they are doing better renting it out as a location for TV shows, movies and commercials, there are photos all over the lobby showing what productions have used it which is fun to see.

This hotel is pretty close to Universal Studios and to Hollywood. There weren’t too many dining options close by. The pillows need to be replaced.

The manager really cared about guests and making sure they had what they needed. The continental breakfast was nice and had multiple options that were refilled quickly. The rooms were spacious and clean. Good location to Universal, only about a 12 minute drive.

Very much deserving of praise, a true diamond in a sea of rough. You can easily see the thoughtfulness of the owner when you sit back and take in the attention to detail. I know everyone recalls modest places like this that just make you feel good—not fancy, just lovely. A perfect lavender sunset over the mountains as the backdrop, framed by a few towering palms that seem to defy gravity. The owner and his modest inn are referenced under “charm” in the dictionary. It makes me want have a cup of tea, put on a cardigan, and just be silent and still. I love it.

Nice, clean motel.

We have stayed here many times over the years, and you can tell that they are updating and improving a bit each year. Great friendly staff near quite a few small restaurants and near enough to various studios too. Our room was very clean but did have a few cosmetic things such as a broken small shelf in shower, some worn thru spots on furniture but again just cosmetic. We liked that there was a small fridge and microwave and a small set of outside tables near breakfast area. parking was right outside our room. Breakfast had a variety of juices, milk, coffees. Some bagels, pastries and breakfast wrapped snacks and pastries for on the go. If you are lucky enough you might see a film crew filming at franks restaurant diner which is on the property. We happened to be there and watched the setup, the actors coming and going and it was a fun behind the scenes look. Nice motel/hotel, no big fancy frills but clean and friendly place.

Very good customer service at check in.

A hidden gem. Not fancy, not new, not glitzy, but perfect for a few nights, Alfredo and Anna as well as the entire front desk staff are exceptional and accomadating. Their customer service was top notch. I was in a handicapped room and would of appreciated a mat in the shower as it was a bit slick and I must be cautious of falls. I also felt the bed pillows could be upgraded :-) but all in all, two thumbs up!!!

The Portofino Inn was decent enough for a short stay sort of near Universal Studios, but the motel itself and the immediate area were rather run down. The place is a true motor inn and it looks like people may be living there, perhaps due to the LA Fires, which would be understandable. The room was ok, clean enough, the bed was comfortable but bring your own pillow unless you like super flat ones. It was surprisingly quiet, which was great. We also had an ok view of the mountains from the second floor. Breakfast was simple with bagels, basic fruit options, and pastries with coffee and juice. Service was fine. Overall, it was ok, but I'll look at other options next time.

Our room was spacious, the fridge and microwave worked great. The beds were comfortable, not super plush, but fine for a weekend. The facilities were well maintained, and the hospitality staff were friendly and efficient, even when we didn’t leave our room until after noon! We would happily stay here again the next time we’re in the Burbank area or going to see a show at the Hollywood Bowl.

I did not like this hotel did not look nothing like the pictures online. The room was so outdated . Everything looked old.

We stayed for one night as a family of 4. Perfect spot to stay for Universal Studios Hollywood. Was quiet at night and we enjoyed the breakfast. Easy and fast check in, thanks!

While the exterior may appear rough, the room exceeded the expectations I had formed upon my arrival. Frank's was closed during my stay, yet the fact that so many shows had been filmed on site was one of the biggest indications to me that this would be a great place to stay. I walked a block or two twice during my stay again, and found a pleasant liquor store and a great cup of coffee!

The Hotel Managers during the day shift and the night shift were extremely hospitable and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay here.

Stay here every time we are in Burbank for business or friends.

This place was easy to find and easy to navigate to and from. The room did not have a coffee maker, and it was also difficult to get snacks which could only be obtained from a vending machine, although I was grateful for that vending machine! I did appreciate the breakfast buffet, too. The room was acceptable though not as immaculate as I like to see for a hotel room.

Ameneties were skimpy: two tiny bottles of water, small hand soap, shampoo (no conditioner) and lotion. Although its not a cheap place to stay, it felt cheap. While the location is okay, its too far to walk to dt Burbank shopping or grocery store.

Room needs some upgrades. Cabinets are old and chipped. Microwave should be on a stand not on the floor for sanitary reasons. Housekeepers were very friendly! Room was clean otherwise.

I must admit the outside of the hotel looks older, but everything on the inside was beautifully done. Clean, comfortable bed, lots of room and I never had to worry about finding a parking spot. Close to shops, the mall and the fwy. Great experience!

I had a fantastic stay at Portofino Hotel. The staff was friendly and attentive, making me feel very welcome. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The location was perfect, close to major attractions. Overall, a wonderful experience that I highly recommend!

It was convenient and clean. My room was a bit dated as far as the furniture was concerned, but the bed was extremely comfortable. I didn’t take advantage of the continental breakfast as I am diabetic and all of the choices were either to sugary or carb heavy. The desk people I encountered were friendly and efficient.

The room was clean. The air conditioner was way too loud and not that effective. There was no ice machine. We had to go to the front desk and have the guy go get us some ice from the neighboring restaurant and the cottontail breakfast was more carbs than anything else

We needed a centrally located property. Portofino Inn was clean and safe with free parking and breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was an easy drive to Warner Brothers Studios and Universal Studios. Lots of shopping/restaurants and Costco a mile away. There were also restaurants across the street. Thank you for a great stay!

The location of the Portofino Inn is incredible! It was within 30 minutes of everything we did, including the LA Zoo, the WB studio tour, the Hollywood Bowl, the La Brea Tar Pits, and the Griffith Observatory, with the zoo, the studio, and the Burbank airport just minutes away. We felt very safe there at all times of the day and night. The staff was very kind, and the hotel provided a generous continental breakfast. We will stay there again should we find ourselves in Burbank in the future.

Having lived in Burbank years ago I remembered this cute little hotel when visiting this weekend. The rooms are simple but very clean, with very comfortable beds. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

Stayed for 2 nights on trip to Universal Studios. This hotel was perfect! Quick 10 minute, straight shot drive to the park! Hotel has free parking, and the office stays open late. They serve a continental breakfast of cereal, breads, bagels, yogurt, cuties, and coffee or juices. The rooms are no frills but the were clean! The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great! Good price for the area! Will definitely stay here again!

I love coming to stay at this hotel! The service is phenomenal, the room is large and comfortable, and the location is terrific. I left to early for the breakfast, but it’s been great in the past. This is a comfortable, cozy hotel. I only wish Frank’s coffee shop was still open! I would have to come a lot more often!

Nice clean older motel. All the staff members were very nice and helpful. Parking is great on property. Try the Tally Rand restaurant just a couple blocks down the street for a great breakfast or lunch.

The inside of the room was fine but it was a little scary at night it felt like someone was going to break in because it sounded like the door kept on trying to get opened from the outside. and the deadbolt lock kept on jamming. Hopefully they can fix that for future bookers!
