Staying at the Hoover Dam Lodge is like staying in a time warp from about 30 years ago. It is outdated but our room was clean. The pool was shaded on a hot day. Great location to the Hoover Dam and fun restaurants in Boulder City. The food on premises was bar food. Not bad and was inexpensive, along with the beer. Smelled like an old casino upon walking in but the rooms do not. It wasn’t busy so the restaurants weren’t staffed all the time but we had friendly and helpful service.

The staff is amazing. The facility is beautiful. But they have no restaurant. They have poorly stocked snack bars. I've been coming to this facility since Dotty's took over and things have slowly and steadily changed. No ice machines, no entertainment but the swimming pool for the kids. But my biggest complaint is the lack of a restaurant on site

  • Kay Jun 2026 · via expedia

Didn't like that there was no ice bucket in room. No ice on each floor, and you had to get a little ice at front desk and had to go down 10 floors for it. No coffee in rooms just vouchers for coffee 10 floors down. Only one elevator operational. No restaurant, only snack food at different vendors inside casino.

Their pool was closed, ac didn’t work real well for as hot as it was outside, ice machine on our floor was broken and the food options in the building were awful. we ended up changing places to stay and when we checked out the manager was so rude and unprofessional that one of the other ladies that worked at front desk hunted me down to apologize.

Many things not maintained. Hot tub not working no ice machines working. No coffee available. Rooms were ok but not above average at all. Staff were friendly. Prices definitely higher than worth of room. It was quiet. Not many people staying there. No breakfast or meals available. Apparently I expected more for my money!

I loved the spacious and large room, which was very comfortable and relaxing. One of my favorite parts of the stay was playing blackjack on the classic gaming machines—they were a lot of fun. The bar staff provided excellent hospitality, and the service while I was playing was outstanding. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again.

The property needs some upgrades. The hallways have a “peppery”’smell which I believe is rug bacteria and mold. The room was large. They need charging USB ports. The elevator was swift as we went back and forth from the 12th floor. The bed was comfortable.

Smoking allowed in casino on bottom floor. Only one elevator worked. Pool and hot tub were closed. No way to rooms except thru Smokey lobby. Lake view was not worth paying more for as could only see it if close to the window and looked way off to the side. Room was a good size, people at front desk were polite and helpful

One employee in the general store was not only rude but also very unhelpful. It seemed like all she was willing or able to do was run the register. Another employee had to step in and handle my issue, which was appreciated, but it shouldn’t have been necessary. This property has changed significantly since my previous visits, and unfortunately not for the better. One of the main reasons I wanted to bring my daughter here was because I remembered the amazing buffet. I was disappointed to learn that the buffet is gone and has been replaced by a few small food options with very limited selections. To make matters worse, the food outlets didn’t have change available, which created additional inconvenience. The property was also unusually quiet and lacked the lively atmosphere I remembered. The room itself was nice, but the decline in customer service, dining options, and overall experience makes this place much less appealing than it used to be.

We had driven by this hotel before and loved how it was near Hoover Dam nestled in between the rocky landscape. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and large but definitely dated. Downstairs in the casino had a lot of historic pictures and facts about the building of Hoover Dam.

  • Barbara May 2026 · via expedia

The website said the rooms were recently updated. Our rooms was so drab, brown, brown, brown. No artwork. Management has disconnected ALL ice machines so you need to go to front desk for a small bag of ice. The staff was always happy to give it to you but there are no ice buckets in the room to put it in. Coffee coupons are issued but early in the morning you need to take the elevator and walk through the casino to find the open restaurant. My first stop was the General Store but their machine was broken. Off to Dolly’s where the overnight gentleman was very pleasant. This was my third stay over many years, probably my last.

Close to Hoover Dam and they were able to get my room by an elevator. That’s the nicest thing I can say oh and the bartenders were nice. The front desk people cannot give you any information about the Hoover Dam or anything around their restaurants. They are very uninformative in dysfunctional. The ice machines were all broken and they gave you a little bag of ice at the front so you have to keep going down to get ice but most of all the pool was closed so no pool for me second the room was dirty very dirty. I have pictures. Out of all the restaurants they’re only one was open for coffee and the coffee was horrible. No help there for breakfast at all. Such a bad experience.

The Good: The receptionist, Vix, was incredibly professional, attentive, and made checking in a breeze. The cleaning lady was also wonderful; she kindly explained that full room service wasn't available but went out of her way to ensure we had fresh towel sets and plenty of shampoo and conditioner. The Bad: Elevator Issues: For a hotel with 17 floors, keeping only one elevator in service just to cut costs is unacceptable and caused major inconveniences. The flyers we were given for "free coffee" were useless because coffee was never actually ready. Additionally, the ice machine on our floor was completely out of service. Disappointing Dining: The three "24/7" restaurants were each staffed by only a single person. Worse, we were told all the food was just microwaved—there were zero fresh options available. While we understand it is a casino, there needs to be a better separation between smoking and non-smoking areas. All of our clothing ended up impregnated with the smell of cigarette smoke. The Room: The wall outlets were too loose/worn out, making it impossible for our plugs to stay in to charge our phones. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud but barely cooled the room. The window curtains had holes in them, letting the morning sun rays right through. The bathroom vanity/lavatory area was also far too small, with no room for our toiletries. In general, this hotel needs a BIG facelift! Great Staff

Rated based on what I guess I’ve come to expect from hotels in America in today’s world, which isn’t much unfortunately. The grounds, as far as outside and lobby area were nice. As far as the room itself, (351) the bed seemed clean and was fairly comfortable. I don’t think the shower had been cleaned at all, as there were long black hairs all over the walls and shower floor. When the AC kicked on I honestly thought a helicopter was landing outside. Fortunately my wife had cotton balls in her makeup case to stuff in our ears, (pack earplugs) ! Iron didn’t work either.

The hotel did not have a restaurant he had to leave the property to have a meal the food service inside the hotel was at best roller food from a gas station. The rooms only had one available power outlet without unplugging lamps or TVs or something so that we couldn’t Plug in our phone and computer at the same time. We will have four days without getting clean towels or sheets or even the room swept the carpet swept it was the fifth day when we finally got the carpeting, swept down and clean sheets and towels. If you want lodging that reflects local culture - as opposed to cookie-cutter corporate comfort - I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms and common areas are clean. There’s a charming general store in the huge downstairs common area, and the outdoor views (which we also enjoyed from our room window) are absolutely GORGEOUS. It’s located in a quiet, low-traffic area, less than 10 minutes from Hoover Dam and less than 40 minutes from Vegas. I enjoyed my 3-night stay so much, I was truly sad when the time came to leave.

The main floor area including gaming hotel registration and bar is truly unique and kinda awesome. They have no normal restaurant but instead have food options in each of the themed gaming areas and at the General Store. Lunch/dinner options were fine, but breakfast was very poor. The big negative were the guest rooms. Althythey were clean and the beds were comfortable, rooms below the 11th floor and very very dated with little furniture and in extreme need of refurbishment. Upon checkout, hotel cleark told us that rooms above the 10th floor had been refurbished so always book those. She noted their was no plans to finish the refurbishment of the lower floors. All considering, I would try this place again as long as I was ensured of a room above the tenth fool.

Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, views were great. Perfect place to stay when visiting Hoover Dam The Chinese restaurant downstairs had no one working there that day. The Mexican restaurant had no food left so we got food from the gift shop. The ladies working there were great! And the free coffee coupons came in handy. The coffee was good. Disappointed the pool and hot tub were closed. Other than that I'd stay there again.

This is a great hotel for 1 night with a dog! Room was nice, bed was comfortable! This was our 4th time staying here. We stay here after landing in Vegas on our way to see snowbirding parents in Lake Havasu AZ. Plenty of food options inside casino and just enough casino games to satisfy your gambling bug! They’re generous with the drinks if you’re playing at the bar! Boulder City is 7 minutes away for more food and entertainment options. The Hoover Dam is 10 minutes away! We’ll be back!

Has fridge and microwave. No coffee pot, no cable or movies, no jacuzzi, dirty room, dirty floors, poop? on wall by toilet, makeup on mirror. Comfy bed, no fitted sheet, lumpy pillows. No views if you have pets you can't stay in the tower rooms. They do allow pet but in rooms near the front desk. Seems they don't like you to receive Walmart or door dash delivery here. They get upset and call you to come get it from the front. It was awkward and the girl seemed to be reporting it to her manager. Telling them the driver was parked in front and she just thought they should know. Uuuum ok. Sorry I ordered snacks. Nice walking trails with nice views and benches to sit on. Morning walks was my favorite part of the stay. Near Hoover dam. Careful of the prices in general store the items are tagged wrong. Coffee in store is good and you get a voucher for a small for each day. It's dangerously hot so grab napkins or you won't make it to you room with it. Has potential and wasn't the worst but was a bit disappointing and unwelcoming.

The staff were friendly and nice, there was a lot of stuff to do in the casino if you were of age. Overall, was a pretty good experience and my hotel room was clean. The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that the pool wasn’t open, I really only bought that room because of the pool and it wasn’t clearly stated that it wasn’t open. We asked if we could switch rooms but were told they were sold out yet there was only like 5 people in casino and parking lot was not full. They said they would send someone up to look at the issues. We waited about 20-30 minutes then had to leave for a show and no one came and it didn’t appear like anyone came while we were out. The room is spacious but older. Did seem ok overall but nothing great. The bed has three flat sheets. There was no fitted sheet at all. Just two flat sheets a blanket and then another flat sheet as cover. Bathroom was not clean, others' hair on shower, etc... dated in general. shower was not even warm, just not ice cold. After camping several days, I was looking so forward to a hot shower and did not get it. Don't like carpet in hotel rooms (cleanliness issue), very slow elevator, only 1 of 2 working. Difficult to access, having to go through main lobby and up many floors, made multiple trips very inconvenient, as well as walking in with kids and gear through busy lobby and casino area with smoking. Parking too small for hotel, no empty spots, had to walk long distances to entrance lobby and leave car in dark, unmonitored lot area.

Staff was nice. Lodge is very outdated. The Bighorn Cafe which was so good and had great choice of food is no longer in the hotel. That was disappointing. Even if you were just sitting up at the bar and don't gamble they won't serve you another drink until 30 minutes later. Not very busy so it was quiet. Great location to the dam. Great view out your bedroom window.

The room was the least expensive available and was fine. The toilet and shower leaked and we notified the staff upon checkout but it wasn't a problem, we were just concerned about water waste. They wrote it up right away for repair. The Casino does not have any table games and is all slots and video poker, presumably some Keno as well. Was hoping they had some bubble craps machines but, they didn't. No sit down eating there except at the General store. We didn't try any of the other restaurants while we there but the prices looked very reasonable. For the price, it was a nice little getaway.

We had a standard king room. Most importantly, the room was clean. However, it could definitely use some updating. The furniture was rickety and felt quite unstable. It would be nice if they included 4 pillows on the bed instead of 3, but the bed was comfortable enough. Also, many of the staff were quite friendly and helpful, but two or three of them were down right grumpy. The restaurant was closed, so dining options were somewhat limited. The ice machines were all broken, however the staff was very willing to provide ice at the front desk when we needed it. I might stay there again, but I would maybe look into an upgraded room that had sturdy furniture. We appreciated the free coffee vouchers.

The location was excellent. The grounds were nicely kept, the staff was friendly, but the room was outdated and dinghy. There was no hot water in the 1970s style bathroom. the A/C unit souded like a gas generator which is either on or off. With such a beautiful location, and a large hotel with no real restaurant to eat at. Wouldnt recomend it. Very convenient location.

The toilet was running all night could hear the plumbing from the other rooms. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The front desk said upon check-in that the ice machines were not working if we wanted ice to come to the desk and get it however they were not very friendly in fact the woman working the following day we were departing was just downright nasty. We have been traveling for about a month now visiting each state and I can say out of the 27 hotels we have stayed at by far the rudest yet. Therefore I don't recommend a stay here. There are many other options nearby to have to waste your money there. In a positive note outside of the front desk the little cafe store they had there had the nicest staff and cheap food.

First when you get to the doors, they are dirty.. then you walk in and get hit with old smoke, mildew and cleaning products. The room was comfortable-ish. The beds were kings. There were 3 SMALL pillows on each bed. That was aggravating. The bed frames were also very creaky. But all of that was liveable until the curtains happened. Oye. They did not close all of the way and we were facing the 'lake'. That is the room we paid for. But we were facing the parking lot. And if we looked to the left corner, there was the lake. Come morning time, I was for sure facing the sun. Super crappy. That makes the whole stay worse. It could have been all so much better. Perfect. And this would have been a big deal. Huge bummer.

There was an event we were attending the weekend we went so rooms were limited and we didn't complain. The surroundings seemed nice but they closed the cafe. The Staff really made up for the shortcomings. I would inquire with the actual hotel desk concerning the rooms prior to booking online in the future if we were to stay there again.

Staff is nice, but no coffee maker in room, no ice in floor ice machines, all food options only offer previously frozen, microwaved food (ie pizza from a frozen box, breakfast sandwiches all frozen and microwaved). Swing/Evening shift staff was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable,& hospitable. The morning shift was NOT. Complete opposite...rude even. The hotel is old but decently maintained. Pool is outside shaded by building, open until 11pm. 24 hr workout room was nice with up to date equipment. The General Store open 24 hr has souvenirs, drinks, & snacks. The eating establishments advertised as 24 hr do NOT actually cook food; more like frozen dinner meals. We went into town (must have car) but go before 10pm because Boulder City shuts down after that. The standard room was clean, bed comfortable, had refrigerator and microwave, the shower water pressure was a drip literally and when brought this to front desk attention long delayed wait for "would you like me to send someone to fix it?" Hmmm. Yes the morning staff was unpleasant. Considering that the hotel was like a ghost town expected a little more. Last, a third party kayaking co. is located in the hotel...that the morning staff seemed to not know anything about it. The store was open/closed throughout day, never made it out kayaking due to road closed to beach, but seemed like it would have been legit. So hiking, padding, eating, and big lake which we had partial view of was all great adventures outside the hotel and would say it's cool for a day or two.

We are return guests of this hotel. We appreciate many things about it, but we see signs that it may not be able to continue. The restaurant was closed - as far as we can tell it is closed permanently. Food is available, but not a restaurant. Not a good situation especially when no other restaurants are available without a 20-30 minute drive. Additionally, one of the two elevators in the tower we we in was not operating. Since there were only a few people staying there it was not a big deal. However we were there on week days so it might be an issue on weekends. Security for the car - not confident in the arrangements. AC was loud and the TV speakers soft - not a good combo. I wish I could be more positive, but we might not be coming back.

They don’t clean the room every day , only every three days so if you stay there for four days they won’t clean it because you leaving after the third day , they don’t pick up the trash unless you call them to do it , rooms stink and when they offer lake view they don’t tell you that the “ view” is just a tiny piece on the window , also the hotels.com it’s not accurate , the three restaurants they said they have now are only slots machines and they offer frozen food , when you go to the bar and ask for a drink , you need to wait for 30 minutes before have another one , they don’t have ice machines , you need to go to the front desk to ask for ice and they will give you a small amount and you just entitled to two serves of ice when it’s a 115 degrees outside , overall terrible terrible stay , I don’t recommend it at all , the only good thing about is just there by the lake

The entrance area and the front desk staff are very nice and welcoming. That is where pretty everything ends in terms of positive impressions. The advertised dining opportunities at the hotel/ casino are literally absent unless you accept a fast food/ appetizer mix as ‘dining’. The bars carried no draft beers and the staff at the entrance was apparently unaware of that fact. The elevator didn’t have an inspection certificate displayed which usually wouldn’t be anything I would make a deal of but it seems as if only one elevator was actually operational (and there was no sign displayed that the other one was out of order, it just never seemed to move). The room, while relatively spacious, felt dated, no amenities such as a coffee maker (you get two vouchers for a couple for free coffee on the first floor). The bathroom was clean but the offered toiletries were in small plastic flasks, an environmentally irresponsible way, and - in my opinion - again not really contemporaneous practice. All in all the hotel had the feel that there was no investment made to upgrade the facility in years or decades. While the external appearance of the hotel from the road looks actually appealing, once you enter it feels as if this hotel is on the verge of shutting down.

The “restaurants” that they claim to have are a lot like the food stands in an airport. They weren't the sit-down and be waited on type of restaurants that they make them appear to be. Very disappointed with that. Booked a room with “lake views”…. If you stood right up against the window and looked hard to the left, you could see water. Other than that, it was just a view of the parking lot. At the front desk, the first girl, who checked us in, was very quiet. We had to ask her two or three times to repeat herself so we knew what she was saying. When we talked with the second lady, she acted like we should have known the answers to our questions. Rather condescending to us and others. Overall, its a mostly clean older hotel where you can rest after a long day of visiting Hoover Dam.

There are no options for sit down food. Children are not allowed to go into the restaurants so there were no food options for our son except frozen, reheated food available at the general store. No restaurants were near the hotel either. Customer service was great, the room was roomy & clean. No fan in the bathroom so not great after bathroom use. Also, the ice machines are not functional. You have to ask for ice from the front desk and you are only permitted 2 small bags (about 1lb each bag) per room. The pool was ice cold & the spa was nice and hot. Overall the stay was comfortable and price was reasonable. I would not stay again, due to the lack of food options.

The kids were shocked at the general smell of cigarette smoke. We were all taken aback at how outdated the room felt. Old carpet, one floral loveseat. And unfortunately there was no breakfast included, though we knew that when we made our reservations. I wish we could have spent a little more time exploring the hotel, because it seemed to have a lot of character, but we were eager to get to the Dam and happy to be so close.
