Considering the location near the heart of UC Berkeley, the rate was pretty decent, but, the hotel was a bit run-down. Rooms were decent, staff was very friendly, parking was easy. Bathroom vanity was so small there was literally no place to set our toiletries but in the other room. Shower was very nice. Bed was stiff. NO A/C!

Room was clean, towels and sheets very clean and white. The bathroom was very clean. Refrigerator, and microwave in room. The carpet could use a good cleaning.

Outside is pretty plain but room Was clean and simple. Off street parking, doesn’t feel super safe though. No breakfast or ice machine or lobby for that matter. But it is right on university ave with good coffee and restaurants nearby.

We've stayed at the Marina several times. Its a quiet, clean family owned budget motel. Free on site parking and wi-fi. Two stories. Conveniently located to the freeway and main streets.

The basics. Old school. Cheap, only spent time sleeping there, no amenities. Not really a pleasant place but close to where I was spending my time. Easy check-in, but I probably won’t be staying there again, certainly not if my wife was with me (she would have hated this place). I didn’t have a car with me, but if I did, the free parking would have been a plus.

the room was clean no air conditioning staff was rude and they don't except cash or debit only credit cards and the want 60 cash deposit but they don't except cash. makes no sense

This is a legacy motel with comfortable rooms and a very affordable price. I stayed here once, and I liked it enough to come back. Each room has a heater and a clean bathroom with a very satisfying shower. AC Transit buses stop nearby, and they're easy to use. Front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. Parking on site without extra charge.

I love the Marriott Napa Vallejo the room was spotless. The service was great. I just really love staying there. The bids are unbelievably comfortable and it’s a great price. This is my go to every time I go down to see my mom.

I thought the place was easy to check in staff were kind. I did not like that there was no safety lock for inside the room to put a chain over the door. There was one deadbolt but staff could open it if needed. Something to keep in mind if you also bring small children and want a safety lock.

The soundproof was extremely bad and I can hear the noise from the street whole night. The front desk staff was not welcoming. The area around was sketchy at night.

Super warm, no AC, at least 85 degrees in the room. After a sleepless night I was offered 10% off... Not enough for a completely disatissfied customer who will now never stay there again.

The desk clerk was incredibly gracious and tried to do what she could to make the stay a good one. That being said, the room itself was not even furnished with a small bar of soap, it had one half box of cheap tissue, the bedroom floor was filthy, the bedside desk handle was tacky, the shower ran burning hot or cold without warning, there's no air conditioning just a circulating fan and I was there for two nights and didn't have any maid service provided. When I spoke with the clerk at the main desk she told me that they have made service every 3 days and then offered me towels and asked if there was anything she could do for me. As I stated in the beginning of this review the desk clerk was amazing and as helpful as she could be but the condition of that Motel I'll never be back

Everything was great until house cleaning threw away my items . I asked for clean towels and that was it! She went in my room rearranged everything i had and tossed my personal items against my wishes.

I didn't like bars on bathroom windows because of bars are needed then they should also have them in front window. FYI: I'm used to staying in 4 and 5 star hotels with my family, but was solo and only needed a place to shower sleep a few hours.

Simple and clean room.

I was a bit worried because the area this is in is not the nicest (I’m from here). However I was pleasantly surprised. There was ample parking and the hotel seemed safe. The room was pretty nice, nothing spectacular, but comfortable. The guy in the office was helpful. I would definitely stay again.

It was very convenient. The restaurant I went to was just around the corner so that was good. It was cleanly, it had an extra blanket if I got cold and the manager showed me how to turn the heater on (it was kinda weird). I was able to turn on the TV (I had trouble at another place a few years ago). So all in all, it was a good night there. The bed was comfortable as well. Since I was just there for one night, I didn't use the shower or anything.

The room smelled of mold. The shower handle fell off. The toilet handle looked like it wanted to fall off. The toilet was small. Room service kept trying to come in even though i had the "Do not disturb" notice on the door handle. There is another hotel with this name in the area and I think they enjoy the confusion over that much better property who's web site comes up if you try to research Marina Inn. The cost was atrocious considering the quality of room and facilities.

Nice staff at this family run motel BUT thin walls and noisy neighbors next door and above made for a sleepless night. Unfortunately, as nice as they were they would not offer any kind of deal after such a rough night. This alone will keep me from ever staying again. Disappointed for sure.

We planned to stay a total of 3 nights but decided to switch to a different hotel for the last two. Not sure why (maybe from the wood on the ceiling) but there was a strong unpleasant smell in the room. We chose the place because it included free parking but we’ll not return in the future.

Amenities are very good -- large screen cable tv, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Many electrical outlets for your rechargers. Hot water is very hot and there's a lot of it. Front desk provided free soap, shampoo, and coffee for the coffee maker. Hotel is right on the main bus line, the 51B. Also near a major shopping area on 4th Street. Wall heater was malfunctioning and upon being informed, they replaced it with a new one immediately. Excellent experience in every way.

The room was very nice as was free parking. It's a bit noisy as others come in at night and I tried to get more coffee in the morning and no one answered the phone or came to the door.

Given the neighborhood and price, I expected less. For example, the bed was more comfortable than expected and the area mostly quiet at night. But the lighting was either dim or glaring, making reading difficult. Heat is provided by an electric space heater, which was not quite adequate on cold nights. And most of all whatever cleaning products are used have an overwhelming scent and irritated my eyes and throat. If management used more eco-friendly products, the place could be a little gem. Very clean, nicely decorated, and within walking distance of Berkeley's Fourth Street shops.

I stay here whenever I visit Berkeley

My go to place in Berkeley. Always clean, great staff and safe parking off the street. I was on a motorcycle trip, felt my bike was safe there. Will be back!

Great. The ac didn’t work but we had a fan. They told us in advance and said we can cancel if the fan is not enough.

I don’t usually stay in hotels like this, but I was pleasantly surprised! Rooms were a bit dated but in good condition. There was no ac, it they had fans in place to make things comfortable. Hotel is run by a family who was very nice.

Everything was great from the check-in to the check out. front desk receptionist was very helpful and polite and friendly and helpful, staff was helpful and thorough, will stay rgere again and recit to everyone.

Staff were very friendly and room seemed clean overall (except for mold/dirt around bathroom window frame). This is a very basic, old-fashioned motel in a not-so-nice part of Berkeley. It was fine for a one night stay for a good price. Free parking was a plus.

The staff at this motel are terrific. Check-in was fast and easy. I had emailed ahead to request a ground floor room as my suitcases were heavy, and received a return email confirmation the same day (the property is a two floor walk up). The room is clean and the bathroom fixtures have been updated. There is a small microwave, refrige, coffeemaker and tv in the room. There was a portable tower fan instead of a wall air conditioner, I'm not sure if this is permanent.

My critique is that there was no air conditioning. You just had a fan. Granted, it is the Bay Area and doesn’t get too hot. Also, if you wanted any shampoo or conditioner or soap you have to ask for it as it’s not in the room.

My husband and I were picking up our son from Summer School, we needed a place to stay for only one night and came across this hotel in Expedia. It’s a nice small hotel. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Bathroom clean. Fast and easy check in and check out. Restaurants and convenience stores nearby. It’s a great option, and we highly recommend it.

Nice place to stay, in the heart of all things Berkeley! Easy walk to cute coffee shops and eateries. Asian, Mexican, and many other types of restaurants are a short walk. The price was great comparatively to bigger name hotels and motels.
