The staff were incredibly friendly and warm. However the hotel itself was severely lacking. The Internet was out, there were holes in the walls in the room, the pool never had towels, the cable TV kept cutting out. That being said the Jacuzzi tub was nice.

Grounds were not taken care of. Lobby was a playroom for the kids of front desk staff. Toys, food and garbage all over. He was friendly-ish but not stellar service by any stretch. It was essentially his living room. Place needs help, but still comfortable enough.

The beds and linens and towels were clean. The floor of the bathroom, bedroom, and outside hallways were filthy. Couldn’t get additional clean towels for room or for the pool; were told there weren’t any. I understand this was a holiday weekend but not great service or cleanliness.

The condition of the rooms are dated and they need repairs. In one room things were broken so I had to be moved. The second room the lights didn’t work. I was told that they are under new management so hopefully they get the facilities repaired.

It had been a few years since we have stayed here and it has really been neglected since that time. Wallpaper was coming off the walls, trim was missing in the bathroom, linens were too short for the bed and it doesn't appear to have been updated since it was built. Two days after we checked out, we learned there was a shooting in the parking lot from a party that was in one of the rooms. This place has really changed and it is a shame, as it once was one of the nicer hotels in Bend, OR.

We tried to contact the front desk from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. No one was answering the phone so I used my cell phone to call. They answered. They were friendly. I asked that the laundry outside of our entry door be picked up. It had been there since we started to move our things into the room. I am handicapped. I have been recovering from surgery since November of 2024. We had to use a small flight of stairs from the small parking lot to get into our room [which was difficult to find at first]. We requested something else; I forget what. The laundry was still outside at midnight. We never had our other request fulfilled. When we checked out, we let the staff, who were friendly, know of our concerns. Bend is a nice location with many options to stay at. We suggest you avoid this Shilo and choose another hotel. We won't be using this Shilo again!

We arrived in town about 8 PM and there was no front desk person. One gal had been working in the office since early morning because other people didn’t show up to work. And there seemed to have been some drama going on with some guests.

The rug in the room was filthy. The bathroom sink took a long, long time to drain. The faucet in the bathroom sink was very difficult to turn on you had to pull very hard to get decent stream of wate10. Had to let the shower water run for about 10 min. before it got hot. We had reservations for 2 nights but didn’t stay the second night, found a different hotel.

One of my girlfriends and I stayed for a night after an event in Redmond, drove 20min and when we arrived, older gentleman at front desk was very friendly but when we walked in the room, the comforter was pulled back as if someone got out of bed and there was no housekeeping. The carpet was dirty/stained and disgusting as heck. The bed was comfortable but because we weren't sure if the bedding was clean (likely not considering the comforter), it was just a gross experience. The patio door was unlocked so someone could have broken in and harmed someone. I didnt say anything becauae we arrived at 1:00am after an extremely long day but definitely would never stay again.

I asked the staff to show me a couple of rooms before I checked in because of this, and when we entered the rooms, one had construction equipment in it, one had severely bubbled up carpet with stains everywhere, one the white sheets and pillows weren’t even white they were brown or gray stained. I went back to the lobby and canceled my reservation so I could go somewhere else and while I was in the lobby, another customer came in because they found bugs in their couch. This property is very poorly taken care of, and I do not suggest staying here, especially if you have a family.

The rooms, facilities, etc. need some serious TLC. The celing in our room was water damaged and the plaster was cracked and peeling right above the door to the room. On the other hand the staff were friendly and helpful, but not overly friendly, and the new hotel restaurant (an indian restaurant) was really excellent and very reasonably priced for their dinner buffet. This place would be really incredible if they could get everything repaired.

Room cleanliness wasn’t great. We found spiders and a bug in the bathroom. No towels were provided besides two small hand towels. When we asked for towels at the front desk, they acted surprised to hear this. However we hear other guests ask for towels as well. Plus other reviews show this is a regular occurrence. The shower had hair and the previous guests’ soap still.

Spent $500 on two nights. The room was disgusting. Sheets dirty, old food from previous stay in fridge. The room infested with spiders I killed over 15 large spiders. Very dated and just overall dirty. I’m glad all I did was have to sleep there. But also barely slept due to conditions and making sure kids would not wake up with a spider bite.

This was a joke. The room was spacious, as described for a King Suite with Kitchenette, but here were no towels. I called down, stating as much and requested some, which never came. We went to dinner without so much as a washcloth to wipe our hands on, wehn we hadhoped for a shower. When we got back and stopped at forn tdesk, they gave us a plastic bag with 2 awful towels and 2 handtwoels, no washcloth or floor mat. The towels were gross, thin, dingy, scratchy. As for the kitchenette, it was nice enough, but didnt have so much as a plastic cup for the coffeemaker. There was one saucepan and lid, and that was it. no utensils, no plates, no cups, no napkins. What a joke. Awful and not even a sincere apology for any of this. Hard Pass.

In general the property is dated and poorly maintained. Our room still had trash in it from previous guests. TV would flicker and die. Staff had trouble checking us in. First they gave us keys to a room with other guests already in it and then the replacement room had not been cleaned. The room we ended up staying had comfortable beds and good water pressure but those were the only perks.

This place could be so cool the way its set up, kind of like big cabins on the river, but it needs some maintenence and a little remodeling for sure. The furniture in the living quarter was very old and antiquated. The hideaway couch/bed was extremely broken. The seating was mismatched and old. This place screams 80’s shabby, shabby. The lighting is poor but the kitchenette had good lighting. The towels were thin and didn’t dry well after a shower (I uses two towels). However for the price and area it checks off the boxes. The room was so outdated and dirty it needs to be out of commission. They won’t even post a picture of a king suite online. Smelled like cigarette smoke, a used floss pick on the floor, and the phone was disconnected. Motel 6 is nicer. The nice woman at the front upgraded me to a bigger room after I complained of how gross it was. The bigger room had a toe nail and sunflower seeds on the carpet. Wall paper ripped, couch ripped up, and just as outdated. Very disappointing for how much I spent per night.

The bed didn't have a blanket so I searched the room and found one in the top dresser drawer and it looked like it was 15 years old with frayed edges, the main pool was closed and the surrounding area looked like a jungle. The inside pool had a oily film over it and the hot tub was not heated, the fitness room wasn't fit for fitness and overall the property was run down and appeared not to be maintained very well, lots of differed maintenance. Nothing we liked besides the smell of the shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. I’m reaching out after mine and my fiancé’s stay at Shilo Inn Bend, Oregon Saturday night, August 2nd and checked out yesterday morning, August 3rd. I spoke to a gentleman who refused to give me his name when I checked out. To start, we got to our room which we were told was not ready when we showed up to check in at 4:30pm, August 2nd. We sat in the lobby 15 minutes waiting to get a room. Then we dropped our suitcase off and left to visit family who does not have much time left and we didn’t even get a chance to check out the room. We returned to the room at approximately 10:30pm, upon using the room upon our return, we found a used cleaning glove in the bathroom sink, our trash for the whole room still had cleaning wipes and gloves in it, a toilet bowl that had a severe ring and looked like it had not been cleaned in a month. We went to crawl into the bed, and I noticed several used napkins on my side of the bed. We ran the ac all night cause we both sleep really hot, and it reeked of smoke the entire night. We woke up and went to shower, the shower did not look like it had been cleaned at all. There was hair and pieces of unknown items inside the shower so I had to clean it before we would even shower in it. After the shower, my fiancé asked me to go to the vending machine to get her a Diet Coke she has every morning. I purchased it, and upon returning to the room, both my fiancé noticed mold on the top of the can and then my fisnce looked at the expiration date and it was from October, 2024. I then went to the front desk where I brought up these issues we had and that we had wished we would have left and found another hotel when we returned to find our room disgusting and nasty. My fiance begged me to leave but I did not cause I said well we paid and she said we needed to bring this all up. So I went to check out yesterday morning, August 3rd at approximately 10:30am. The guy at the front desk gave me $1 back for the soda and said he would send

It was okay. Clearly old, which we don’t mind. But they didn’t provide the appropriate towels for us to use. The hot water took an extremely long time to heat up to the point we didn’t think we had any at all for a while. Otherwise, it was clean and beds were comfortable.

For the price I paid, wallpaper in the room was peeling in the edges of the walls, hair clip left on the curtains, lamp shade was stained, dingy, and completely off centered. Carpets were stained and dirty looking, no pictures on any walls, and the toilet seat was broken off the toilet, just sitting very loosely. Only a very tiny microwave, only a one cup tiny coffee maker, carpet outside on the stairs was very old and had major holes worn everywhere. I would not reccommend staying here at these prices.

The carpet was badly stained. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a year!! The smell in the room was bad . If I wasn’t tired I would have found a nother motel. Even the water had a bad smell. I am calling there corporate office and asking for at least half of my money back!!!

The room needs updates. I don’t think anything has been updated for decades besides the bedding. Carpet, fridge, microwave, furniture was very old and rundown. We did not use the coffee maker because it had a layer of dust in it. The shower did not look clean so we did not use it. There were people dumpster diving outside our room as well.

Beautiful view and conveniently located to shopping/restaurants. Room wasn't as clean or in good repair as I had hoped. Lack of security locks on entryways into room, other than key card lock on main door. Ant colony living in the toilet tank/lid, cobwebs and spiders (not small and multiple) clearly visible from all ceilings in each room, kitchenette plumbing leaked when being used, poor lighting due to multiple burnout bulbs in lamps, rotten spot in balcony flooring just outside the door, bedframe not assembled and secured properly so collapsed when weight added from luggage. So short staffed that they didn't have anybody on hand to deal with any of the problems. Overbooked so couldn't offer me a different room. Room and amenities way overpriced for what was offered.

The room was spacious. We arrived and there were no towels and only a 1/2 a roll of toilet paper. We went back to the front desk and asked for towels and were told they were out except for a couple floor towels. We took those for hand towels and they said there will be more in the morning. In the morning, we called and they said they had more towels, but we had to come and get them because of staffing. The toilet and shower had black mold and the toilet seat was broken. Overall, the room could be cleaner and better stocked, but served its purpose.

The shower felt like you were going to fall through the floor. There was only half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and when we called to get more they told us we had to come to the front desk if we wanted more. The pool was ice cold and the 2 hot tubs were barely above freezing. There were no towels at the pool area. The only positive thing about our stay was that the bed was very comfortable.

Smelled like smoke Fixtures from the 70s Cottage cheese ceiling Cracked lamp Nasty box springs Mouldy shower Ice machine not working Loose electrical outlets could not charge my phone by the bed because it kept falling out of the wall. No charging stations at all. I plugged it into the bathroom. The concrete sidewalks outside were probably poured in the 60s and were broken up and uneven. spiderwebs all over in the hallway to the four rooms that were in there. I would not recommend this place for anybody.

This place is trashed. Dirty, not vacuumed, carpet stains, drywall roof leaked water ( potential mold), no coffee cups, 1 towel for a king room. Perfect location, but zero maintenance or upgrades in 25 plus years. Hemstreet should be ashamed of himself. Shilo Bend Oregon is not at all what it is advertised and should be avoided. Do not take your kids there as the floors are disgusting.

The staff at Shilo Inn was amazing, that being said there were a few issues with our stay, no toilet paper or any paper products. These were supplied when we called for them but it seemed due to short staffing we were required to go to the front desk for everything, we never did get coffee cups. The ice machine wasn't working and we had to go to the next building, after getting a separate key since ours wasn't working in the other building. The pool outside our room was closed and the one that was opened the hot tub jets didn't work and the tile and concrete was broken and loose pieces around the pool and hot tub. Our toilet ran the entire weekend, while the room seemed clean (except for the giant stain on one of the box springs) it was dated. The last night our key stopped working, we had to go to the front desk multiple times to get it worked out. The maintenance guy was missing however the front desk clerk finally got us. Again I will say the staff that I encountered were wonderful and really tried their best to help us and fix any problems. With some updates, repairs and a few more staff this would be a great place to stay, currently though the quality does not match the rate charged. I would try again there in the future if they confirm some updates.

This hotel has so much potential it’s right up against the Deschutes river with beautiful trees and a very open layout plus the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. However, the room was one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in all the furniture had what looked to be blood stains on them (I don’t mean one little stain, I mean a lot) and the upholstery was completely falling apart. I debated on going across the street to buy my own linens just to be on the safe side. I understand it cost a lot to remodel a hotel but this one look like it hadn’t been touched since the 80s. The kitchenette was awesome, but super ran down I thought about not even using the fridge for drinks. On top of that the first night we were there we went out for dinner and when we came back, there were about seven police officers in the parking lot at someone’s room. I understand things happen and it may be just a one off occurrence, but it did happen.

So when we first checked in, we checked in around 1:30. In the afternoon on a Friday we noticed that the bathroom was filthy the toilet. The tub there was mold. There was hair. It wasn't vacuumed. There was no cups in the room so we asked for the room to be cleaned cuz we're going to the festival and we'd be back that night. When we got back nothing had been done and then I was talking to one of the guys. He was very very rude and he hung up on me so then they switched us to a different room and when we got to that room the toilet was still dirty. The garbage was full. The room had not been vacuumed and it was just gross. I will never stay there again and the staff was rude. The guy the lady the next day I think she was the manager. She was very sweet and nice but I will never stay there again!!

Hotel itself was in good shape, but never saw a maid. Room had a hand towel, washcloth and one bath towel. When I went to the desk the clerk apologized and said "Here is what I have", which was a bath towel and a couple pool towels. Next day maid never came to replenish towels. Table lamp between beds was not working. AC fan rattled. I get the impression owners arent staffing or putting money into upkeep. Sprinklers ran all night, many broken or spraying onto lot. Shame because a really nice property. Clerk on checking said, "I haven't had a chance to check your room, but if any problems let me know". Nice but not inspiring. Booked for an event in Redmond, so with event pricing was $500+ for two nights and hotel along with others in town all booked up.

Second room had a working A/C but and a moldy shower liner and a missing coffee machine and garbage cans. The indoor pool area was open but steam room was out of order and the hot tub badly needs to be resurfaced. The sauna has a broken light and a broken knob that prevents you from adjusting the temperature. The fitness center is NOT as advertised. It had one horizontal bike and one cable machine. It is clear that when this motel was designed it had great bones and details but it has NOT been well maintained. It is run down and honestly disgusting. It is FAR overpriced and not worth the money.

I booked a queen riverview and got a double double. The tub was cleaner after we took showers, there was dirt all around the edge of the tub. The freezer had ice build up and the rest of the fridge was dirty. The food we put in the fridge froze. The outside light was very poor and there were a lot of outside lights that were out. When we dead bolted our door the key card still opened it. That made us feel like anyone could come into the room. The outdoor pool was closed in July. It really needs to be updated. The staff was friendly.

This was absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I am used to staying at low budget hotels, so I dont have super high expectations as far being updated with a bunch of snazzy features. However, this hotel should be shut down. There was mold on the bath tub, carpets were dusgusting, there is a light inside the actual shower itself that was super rusty and dripping cold water on my head while I was showering. There was a nasty hole in the wall where the carpet meets the wall right next to the bed. The lamp shades were cracked and dented and just beat up and nasty looking. After being at a festival for 12 hours in the hot sun, I was so looking forward to getting to the room and taking a shower. We checked into the room at 1 am, went to the room, no towels anywhere. My husband then walked back to the office as the phone in the room wasnt even plugged into the wall, only to be told they were out of towels and could we wait until tomorrow. My husband expressed his unhappiness with this and was handed a stack of floor mat towels for us to use. I awoke to a nice big beetle ceawlingnon the nightstand. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. I was also looking forward to using the pools and hot tub before we checked out but after seeing the condition of the room, we decided to pass. The fact that I paid $170 for this room is insane and we, of course, will never be back.

Multiple stains on the carpet throughout the room, at least 3 spiders - one was in the bed, and the fridge, microwave and tv worked but were also very old. The room door didn't seal properly - light was shining through from outside. Jets in the hottub didn't work. Pool was cold and there was only one exercise bike and a small cable machine in the exercise room - which also smelled bad. Most of the ice machines didnt work or at least didnt work well. It was a hotel that you know you're only staying at for a night, it was cheap-ish and you'll be gone in the morning.

We were checking in late after a long day of driving and the check in was already so cumbersome (she didn’t understand how credit cards work, thought the expire date was a month and day, and didn’t even know if the room was upstairs or first floor) for the front desk to handle we just kept our flip flops and sweat pants on and cranked the AC to get some shut eye and the hell outta there in the early AM. I haven’t seen a state park vault toilet that was in worse condition than this room we got had paying for. Pick somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Beautiful property! Very quiet, we were only one of three rooms rented for the weekend. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the river view. However the carpet has threadbare spots. They chair has holes worn in the arm rests. Had to shut the bathroom door so as not to hear the toilet running all night. The front desk worker was completely rude, not polite at all, didn’t even list the amenities or anything. The first room we check into smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. Then we got moved to another room that had no pillows, towels, the hide a bed didn’t work, and the room hadn’t been vacuumed. We stayed because it was so late, and when we asked for towels and pillows, the front desk staff greeted us with “I don’t know if we have any left” the next morning, we checked out a night early, and the night auditor was rude and didn’t try to accommodate us in anyway for the issue. I called and spoke to the morning front desk agent, and she was very polite, offered me 1/2 off my rate and apologized profusely and offered us an upgrade if we stayed again. She was the only positive part of that place.
