Reviews
The hotel resort is beautiful with stunning views and outstanding facilities, particularly the golf course. However, there are inconsistencies in customer service, with some staff being exceptionally helpful while others are less attentive. Some amenities were not available or closed, and the restaurant options were limited.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were amazing! I would definitely stay here again.

It’s a bit on the outskirts to Bend, but if you want peaceful and clean, you gotta check it out.

The property is absolutely gorgeous and the amenities are amazing! We had so much fun in the pools and they have a cool rock waterslide for kids. The hot tub could fit 30 people and was the perfect temperature. They had an outdoor fire pit that you could sit at during the evenings and you could see all the stars they had live music come in to the bar area, which was really cool. The food at the trailhead grill was amazing and they smoke their meats in house. We had the brisket it was delicious with whiskey barbecue sauce ! We rented the bikes and rode the 5 mile trail around the property and it was beautiful and the price was very reasonable at $15 for the rental per bike And our most favorite memorable experience of this trip was the cave tour!!! I highly recommend it was a personal tour just for the two of us and Tracy was an amazing guide. We got to see a porcupine sleeping in the cave and she showed us the two swans that live on property , we picked herbs and made sage bundles and then we ended with a sound bath, which was a cool experience that we've never done before. We will be coming back to Juniper Preserve, everything about the trip was 10 out of 10 and the Lodge is absolutely gorgeous!

The fire pit and heated pool were really nice in the cooler weather. A beautiful view when waking up too

Isolated but all around an amazing resort. Would love to come back! Our room was a bit dirty with the sink having hairs, towels stained with makeup and hair in the shower and walls. A bit yucky but we were exhausted from a long drive.

Beautiful hotel and setting. It’s pretty far from town but it makes for a very relaxed and peaceful setting. Great place to golf with a group! Nice big rooms. Wonderful pool and hot tub. Really friendly staff. Didn’t have a chance to try the spa. Dinner in the restaurant was just ok.

We’re here on Monday and Tuesday and unfortunately the spa isn’t open those days. But it’s quite lovely.

Gorgeous property with beautiful views of mountains and desert. Trailhead restaurant had delicious selections. Although we were surprised at distance to town, its worth the drive. We look forward to returning.

The property was beautiful beyond what I was expecting. The staff and the whole experience was exemplary. Great customer service and very engaging people.
- 5/5
Clean room staff were amazing and the pool and sauna were wonderful
- 5/5
This is the perfect place to relax and just enjoy the scenery
- 5/5
The view from our room was stunning, as was the entire property. The staff were all very warm, welcoming, and very helpful. This was a great alternative to enjoying the Bend area since we usually stay in-town. Juniper Preserve was a lovely spot to treat ourselves! Very serene.
- 5/5
From the moment we entered the resort we felt pampered.
- 4/5
Property is at least a half an hour from EVERYWHERE. Add 30 minutes to ANYWHERE you want it go. Not conveniently located
- 5/5
Wish the sauna worked properly . It didn’t work the entire time we were there which was a bummer , but otherwise was a wonderful time, beautiful property !
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and efficient; the facility was comfortable and immaculately clean! Slept awesome, beds are SO comfortable. Ate breakfast at Iris and it was fresh and delicious!
- 4/5
This is a beautiful property but 30 minutes from Redmond/Bend. Great for an extended stay if you don't plan to go into town often, but I would NOT recommend this if you are going to need to go into Redmond/Bend daily.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Nice pool and overall hotel
- 5/5
The staff was lovely. They treated us like family every time we saw anyone from the staff. Very welcoming!! The property itself was just perfect. The pool and hot tub were so relaxing. The food at the restaurant was delicious! We watched the star-studded sky around the fire pit as we rocked in our rocking chairs, listening to the coyotes sing in the not too distant field. Incredible. ❤️
- 3/5
This property was absolutely beautiful but if you are on a budget, it's not for you. We only needed an overnight stay and the site said they were pet friendly. They charged a pet fee of $75 for the one night which turned a $160 room into a $230 room. There was only one place to eat which was supper expensive. I addressed these issues with the managers both at check in and check out--no one really cared. Will definitely not return. Can't afford it.
- 5/5
Best hotel around for sure !!!! Super exclusive and luxury vibes!!! Staff was amazing 😍😍 all the amenities are as beautiful and perfect as in the pictures😍 spotless room!!!
- 5/5
When we arrived we had a person ready to take out bags up to our rooms. We walked up to the front desk and they already had everything ready for us (Gate person called in as we drove up the drive). Staff was friendly, the grounds were nicely kept. It was fun to walk along the golf course pathways at night. The gym was a good sized gym. I wish the cafe in the lobby was open in the morning but understand it's off season.
- 3/5
Hotel was great. But general store closes at 3pm. Only one restaurant was open. Food was sub par, for price.
- 4/5
The hot tub was tepid at best. There were not enough food options.
- 3/5
We scheduled this trip for a romantic Valentines weekend. No options other than $150 ahead for the Valentines dinner at the one restaurant that was open. Only three food choices for $150. The little grocery store closes at 3 PM and is only open three days a week so when you get there to check in the store is already closed so forget about getting any snacks or late night beverages. There is no snacks to be had in the lodge itself so you are on your own to pack in your own grub. The Jacuzzi was out of service the whole time we were there and they wanted $30 just to use the rinky-dink little sauna that was out by the pool. On our final day there at 7 o’clock in the morning, the landscapers deemed it necessary to fire up the leaf blowers right in front of our sliding glass door, which woke us up so we did not get very much sleep. All in all it would take a lot to get me to come back.
- 3/5
I love this place and it's surroundings. I come here a couple times a year. Unfortunately, this time we had a very noisy family next door that didn't go to bed until after midnight. So it was the least relaxing experience I've ever had here.
- 5/5
Room was beautiful. Very well kept grounds. Peaceful area!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Lovely room and facilities.
- 5/5
Very courteous and welcoming staff.
- 5/5
If there were more stars available I would give them. This stay is perfection from top to bottom!
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing! Can't wait to go back in a few weeks for another stay!
- 5/5
This was my second time staying here this year. It's a very private and high end setting. Pool and hot tub are open year-round. Great amenities and beautiful golf course and grounds. The best place to relax - which is why I come here every year.
- 5/5
No one thing stood out. The property location, the peacefulness, the amenities, the staff. All 10+. Joseph was particularly helpful... we had a mishap with our coffee maker and he made us a personal cup of coffee which was even better! Major kudos to Joseph!
- 4/5
Amazing staff. Room was great but little details needed to be taken care of. Breakfast was good, but not as great as the last time we stayed. Beautiful property.
- 5/5

The hotel offers a welcoming relaxing resort experience. Sunsets and moon rises over the colorful high desert are not to be missed. The resort serves up incredible views daily! Star gazing at night is exceptional.

Peaceful and relaxing in the fall. A perfect getaway for our 10 year anniversary.
- 5/5
This property is beautiful and relaxing. Seems very special and we were taken care of as if we were special. Beds are very comfortable, very nice shower and the inside and outside are immaculate.
- 5/5
Beautiful mountain views
- 5/5
Pronghorn is a very nice place to stay. Very convenient to the golf courses.
- 5/5
Great little oasis in the desert! We would definitely go back!
- 5/5
An experience I shall not soon forget.
- 5/5
This property is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is professional and excellent. I think the walls are quite thin as both nights. I heard the neighboring room talking and laughing quite clearly as well as a lot of thumping around from the floor above, but other than that a fantastic day.
- 5/5
Although Juniper Preserve was not as close to Bend as I thought, the facilities there are very nice. The preserve is roughly 30 minutes from Bend and 32 minutes from Redmond. Aside from the absolutely beautiful surroundings and the fact that it is dog-friendly, the service really stood out. All of the staff we spoke with (front desk, restaurant, bar, snack bar) were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to answer questions. It is apparent that they love their jobs and they want the guest to love Juniper Preserve as much as they do. I'll be back!
- 2/5
Room was not ready by check-in time. Pool area was a mess. Extremely noisy.
- 5/5

- 2/5
Property was average and no food options.
- 5/5
Amazing property
- 4/5
Dining is limited, but food was great. Service is hot or miss at restaurants. Adult only pool is worth the trip, room was great, slept great.
- 2/5
The property is beautiful, but I would not go back.
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 4/5
Overall, it was a great experience. We really like the new wellness program and enjoyed a breath work class and massage. The property is beautiful. The main challenges we experienced were related to food options onsite, which is important with the remote location.
- 5/5
Recommend it to anyone. Also try out the SPA the therapist was very good, get the deep tissue massage and CBD facial it was excellent. The only thing that could be improve a little was the pool is kinda cold. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I wish the place has more food options. I recommend ppl to bring some snacks and drinks specially if u have kids or want some snacks after swimming and at night time.
- 4/5
We like the view, scenery , golf course and the staff are helpful and friendly. Love the spa Iris restaurant serves breakfast , lunch and dinner. There was no microwave in the room, if you want to explore outside the resort you need to have a car but they provide a shuttle
- 5/5
Bed was very comfortable
- 5/5
Amazing sunset views, very relaxing and peaceful
- 4/5
It is a beautiful property and a great price. unfortunately it was way under staffed when we were there so restaurant service was extremely slow and only one was open. They had an event one evening that you could tell they couldn’t keep up and people were upset. It was Memorial Day so maybe before season gets started? About half hour from the town of bend.
- 5/5
Great place quite and tranquil. Good rooms and has great pools that are split with a family pool and adults only pool.
- 5/5
Not great dining options, open and available
- 5/5
This property is a hidden jem!
- 4/5
Overall a beautiful property. However it’s literally in the middle of nowhere so we were pretty disappointed to find that one of the two restaurants was closed for the season. (All summer for a golf resort?) Also, there is only one small shop for groceries and things that I wish had more to it. But most annoying was the lack of coffee service in the hotel itself. (They have pods in the rooms but I’m talking real coffee selection). If you want an espresso or latte you have to hoof it to a totally separate building on the property. Not exactly what I want to do first thing in the morning before I’ve had said coffee. Also no room service was a bummer. It’s beautiful but for $300+ a night I want all the luxuries.
- 4/5
The restaurant and bar were under staffed and after 9pm there was no food to be found on the property. This location is remote and it was difficult to get any restaurant to deliver to their location. Additionally, some of the staff, clearly under stress from the lack of staff to help them, were rude.
- 5/5
Beautiful property! Staff was great! Room was anazing
- 2/5
Arrived on memorial day weekend to the fairly remote hotel and learned that all but one restaurant was closed. The restaurant that was open had a two hour wait and the nearest food was 30 minuets away. We had brought some food with us but our room did not have a fridge microwave like it was supposed to so we were out of luck. I’m not sure what’s going on here at this place. Seems like the are in bankruptcy or something because it was a host town on what should have been a busy holiday weekend. However, the staff were all very nice and the bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
It was pretty good. Seems better for families with kids. Mattress was just Okay, AC system in Room worked great and air was fresh. Food at restaurant was supreme!! Seems safe And like lot of stuff to do on property. Seems like they want to be a nice enough place to offer fresh coffee in the Lobby in the morning to their guests. They want you to go buy it instead. Average hospitality. The place has potential to be 4 or 5 stars. The landscaping And food offerings stood out as excellent to me. Make everything else that good.
- 5/5
This property is beautifully maintained, with wonderful staff and great amenities. The rooms are larger with more quality in their selected appliances and equipment than commercial hotels. The pricing was also similar to the others in the area but this resort gives the luxury experience.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and attentive and the room was clean. Would stay here again in the future.
- 5/5
Gorgeous
- 5/5
Amazing place
- 5/5
Very relaxing stay. Great property with even greater service
- 5/5
Exceptional on every level!
- 5/5
Incredible location for a couples getaway.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and always helpful. Beautiful place.
- 5/5
Beautiful place with great views. There is a convenience store on site with some good snack options and two restaurants. One restaurant was closed which limited food choices and the other place required table reservations for dinner and charged for cancellation. The cancellation charge was a bummer and the menu was very small.
- 5/5
I recently spent a weekend at Juniper Preserve for a much-needed escape from the city, and it exceeded all my expectations. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm smiles from the staff, making us feel right at home. Our accommodations were nothing short of spectacular. The room was beautifully designed with natural wood accents, offering a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The amenities at Juniper Preserve are top-notch. We took full advantage of the outdoor activities. The onsite spa was a perfect way to unwind; I highly recommend the deep tissue massage! Dining at the restaurant was a highlight of our stay. The menu featured locally sourced ingredients, and each dish was delicious. Don’t miss the signature cocktails at the bar—they were refreshing and creative! The location is ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in nature while still having access to modern comforts. We explored nearby attractions and appreciated the peaceful surroundings. Overall, our experience at Juniper Preserve was wonderful, and we left feeling rejuvenated. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a tranquil getaway.
- 5/5
Salt water pool was fantastic.
- 3/5
The facility was good . I didn’t like that there’s no food vending machine or their supermarket closes early since the property is too far from the down town or any stores.
- 5/5
Everything was very nice
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
amazing!!!!
- 3/5
We were so excited to stay at Juniper Preserve after golfing there last year. We were disappointed to find there was only one restaurant (the grill) open and half of the staff was let go for the season. They were severely understaffed and it did not go unnoticed. No pool side service, the barista stand/bar did not have consistent hours. Sometimes they were there and sometimes not. With grounds so far outside of town (30 minutes) it would have been nice to know prior to booking. With that being said, the staff was still friendly and the grill was great. Hopefully they will be built up a little more in the future.
- 5/5
Beautiful and relaxing!!
- 2/5
But when we checked in on Saturday they gave us a small room right next to the front desk and the boiler room , not the room I booked, people were sitting on our porch all day and night right next to our window we couldn’t even open the drapes as the hotel had couches and fire pit immediately next to the room window were people will sit and eat and talk. I wanted a nice getaway for my birthday weekend but I got dumped in the worst room possible at the property , when I tried to change the room they said that they were sold out. If they didn’t have the room I paid for they should’ve give me the rate for that room which was about half what I paid . THAT WAS NOT WHAT I BOOKED!!!! THAT WAS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR!!!
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay at Juniper Preserve! I stayed for three nights and had delicious meals at the onsite trailhead grill restaurant. The adult only salt water pool was perfect for lounging in the sun and enjoying cocktails from the bar. The Nicklaus golf course was spectacular and challenging; it is an absolute must play if you choose to stay here. Bring snacks because there are limited late night options. Safeway is about a 20 minute drive away and closes at midnight if you need to make a late night run. The staff were so friendly and approachable. I will definitely return!
- 5/5
One of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed at, my wife and I can't wait to go back
- 5/5
Scenically speaking, it’s beautiful!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay! No complaints what so ever. We hope to visit again soon. Thnak you to the lovely staff as well
- 4/5
Lovely stay! The facilities were great. My only suggestion is improvement on food options in their dining and small cafe areas - it was somewhat limited for being more in a remote area. However we enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Food options are limited if you are staying more than a few days. Basically just one restaurant.
- 5/5
It is a beautiful property and golf facility. The staff was super friendly and welcoming everywhere I went. The room was comfortable. All around awesome place. Will return.
- 5/5
This is a gated community with a really nice golf course. When you enter the gate, you are stopped and greeted and asked your name. It seems as though they then patiently await your arrival at the hotel as we were greeted smile, and that was something unique.
- 2/5
The property reminded us of staying at the Inn in the movie “the shining”. Aside from golf, it was basically dead. Very few people around and everything was closed or locked up. They either need to become a real resort or just sell the lodge as condos.
- 3/5
Empty wine bottle left in room upon arrival. Room was not serviced after first night, had to request fresh towels after hot day in desert conditions. Food at Grill very unusual.
- 5/5
I just loved everything about this property. I’m just sad I only stayed one night on a road trip. I’m definitely coming back!
- 5/5
Property was excellent and so were the staff !
- 5/5
Thank you, Juniper staff!
- 5/5
Staff members were very accommodating! Facilities clean & well maintained.
- 5/5
Excellent place staff was wonderful
- 4/5
Beautiful
- 2/5
unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this stay. The Resort is beautiful and is in a great location. But they don't allow you to check in early which was a bummer since we went here for a wedding and they didn't have a fridge in the room which was a problem for a breastfeeding mother.
- 3/5
Everything closes so early :( couldn’t get a drink at the turn for golf, couldn’t get a drink at the bar, here with friends and had very little to do after golf
- 5/5
Beautiful. Tranquil and peaceful. Location and desert and the stars are beautiful.
- 5/5
A bit of a drive…. But worth it
- 5/5
This is the third time I have stayed at Pronghorn/Juniper Preserve and it gets better every time. Everyone is so friendly. The rooms are spacious with beautiful views and great beds!
- 5/5
So relaxing and serene. Definitely a place that makes you take a step back and self-care.
- 5/5
We highly recommend a stay at the Juniper Preserve! The property is stunning. The staff is friendly and attentive.
- 5/5
A little bit off the beaten path, this resort is beautiful and the service is fantastic. We arrived with a last minute reservation but the deal was all ready for us. Spacious rooms, great restaurant.
- 5/5
Gorgeous salt water pool, Beautiful views, great golf Course, although we didn’t play golf, has a nice spa and is rebranding to emphasize that, pickleball and work out facilities. Just a lucky find! I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Nice property. Poor dining options. Hit or miss staff.
- 5/5
Great experience. My only critique was no microwave or fridge. Other than that I had the best night sleep. Definitely geared towards the older crowd. Also very secluded which I liked.

Property was pretty, staff at the hotel lobby bar and at the restaurant were amazing. Lady at the front desk could have been more friendly. Surprised that such a high end place does not offer room service. Love that our furry friends are allowed.
- 5/5
Resort was fabulous, scenic views, golf courses, and the pools had tons of shade and salt water.

The facilities are outstanding. Golf course is pro like course with amazing views. The restaurant, pool, pickleball courts, spa, and workout rooms are amazing as well. Room is verify spacious and clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

My partner and I loved staying here and had a great weekend. Staff were very helpful with anything we needed. The pool and hot tub were great and our couples massage was stellar. Will be back!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. The staff was very frienly and accommodating. The heated pool and hot tub were nice for the cold evening.
- 5/5
Beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting!
- 5/5
Great experience! Loved the property
- 5/5
Fabulous service! Joseph welcomed us right away and accommodated us with a heated salt pool and hot tubs! Wonderful staff, fantastic building, excellent food and a fabulous stay!
- 3/5
It’s a beautiful property, but at this time of year most of the amenities were closed, but you will still be charged the resort fee. There was one restaurant open for service, the workout room and the outside spa.
- 4/5
Juna at front desk was exceptionally helpful getting us reservations for dinner and upgraded our accommodations. She was great!
- 5/5
Juniper has an incredible staff. The staff really made our stay. We loved the spa technicians and the restaurant staff. The spa is pricey in comparison to other services in Bend but they are talented and I felt that the purchased services were worth what we paid. I would probably not return to the spa, but mainly because of the price, unrelated to the services. The entire staff treated us like family. very thoughtful and considerate and kind. Evident that the staff loves working at Juniper. We ran into the hotel manager a few times and he treated his staff with respect and kindness. This is a really special place. The resort is lovely, a ways out of Bend, and far off major roads. Mostly quiet, though the linked rooms do not have a lot of privacy in regards to sound. Our neighbor let his alarm go off for over an hour, which woke us and was largely irritating. Otherwise we loved our room, the fireplace was wonderful and we enjoyed watching the sunrise with coffee from the hotel in the mornings. Thoughtful holiday decor and family activities, which we did not participate in but we did enjoy the homemade holiday cookies. Good food. The pool and hot tub are heated year round and are salt water. I would have liked to see more biodegradable and eco friendly products throughout the hotel, not a deal breaker just behind the times. Loved our stay, we would return in a heart beat. Again, the staff is amazing and truly made our stay very special. The perfect way to spend our holiday.
- 5/5
Every thing is
- 3/5
The area is so beautiful being in the high desert. I felt very secluded though from Bend.
- 5/5
Will definitely return
- 5/5
Stay and property were great, staff very friendly and attentive. Put in at least a level 2 EV charger
- 4/5
There was a golf convention during our stay and the player in the pool area were very rowdy and rude.
- 2/5
1) The website lists 4 restaurants. In reality, there is ONE overpriced restaurant & 1 small coffee bar. The menu is the same for lunch, dinner, & poolside. 2) The resort lacks a policy regarding inappropriate guests. The sole activity is a salt water pool with a jacuzzi. We would have spent more time there, but two other guests relentlessly followed us from pool to hot tub to pool, touched us underwater, & were so creepy in what they said/how they looked at us that we were forced to leave the pool area multiple times. At other locations we have stayed, staff keep an eye out & blacklist inappropriate guests. 3) JP advertises feeding 2 swans on the property as an activity both online & on brochures. We went on an evening walk that looped around the pond w/o any data indicating that could be a bad choice. We ended up being attacked by the male swan, which is objectively hilarious, but was truly scary. There was ONE sign on 600 acres saying swans were not to be fed due to nesting season. Why not tell guests that info at check-in? 4) The spa seemed incredible. We will never know b/c there was only ONE - fully booked - masseuse available for a 3-day weekend. We write this in hopes of helping you save $, stay safe, & have fun in Bend.
