Great value for an overnight stay. Excellent variety at breakfast. Pleasant and courteous staff. Would definitely stay here again!

Cleanliness of common areas needs improvement

The hotel and grounds were very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. The staff is where this hotel really shines. Everyone is so friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Overall we had a decent 2-night stay. We asked to be moved from the first room we were assigned (#117) as it had a weird layout with a dirty/stained chaise lounge in an alcove just as you came through the door. The bed was to the right of that area, kind of down a small hallway. The carpet in that area was stained. The second room we were assigned (floor #2) was fine (clean and no weird layout). It would have been nice to know we needed to use our room key/card to activate the elevator. The pool was closed (the water had been drained) so that was disappointing. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the a/c worked well. The free coffee and breakfast were your standard fare. The ice maker on the first floor was not working so we had to go to the third floor for ice. Everyone on the staff that we encountered was friendly.

The washing machine only takes quarters and the hotel couldn’t make change. They said the workers kept taking the quarters. When you need to wash a quick load after getting back to the hotel at night it was frustrating.

The staff and the room When we first checked in we asked about a 1st floor and was told there are not any and then over heard the front desk staff tell another customer that she could put them in a 1st floor but informed her to be quite. Then we were put in a room on the 2nd floor that smelled.

Regrettably we arrived too early in the season to enjoy the awesome pool and it was 85 degrees outside so those amenities would have been nice.

The breakfast was fresh and severed promptly at 6am every morning but the weekend the thimg was missing were grit tue staff was excellent but they were short staffed so we.had to clean our own rooms

While the facility is great, the customer service was top notch! Yvette was incredibly welcoming and helpful to this weary traveler, and made sure that I had everything I needed for my stay!

Check-In was a breeze and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and easy to access. However, we had a very loud person in the adjoining room so either the walls were thin or he was just obnoxious.

The toilets are for potty training- down to the floor/ the room has insufficient lighting. unless you’re an owl good luck. The microwave is located in the corner and you absolutely can not see the numbers or anything on it. Hot water is sub par.

The room was disgusting, looked like bloodstains on the floor next to bed, coffee maker had unidentifiable gunk in it, there were fruit loops trailed down the halls.. very disappointed and would never stay there again.

When we had a leak in the ceiling of our bathroom, it was quickly taken care of and we were moved to another room. The staff was helpful, the breakfast was good.

The parking was also inconvenient and unsafe especially for those who arrive at night. The floors were hideous and weren’t vacuumed. The towels, washcloths and linens weren’t clean. We reserved to room at short notice and we were pleasantly surprised, the room was clean and well kept., the water in the shower was piping hot, the breakfast choices were fantastic, and most of all ,we were very impressed with the woman at the front check in, who was super friendly and a wonderfull resource for this property, she seems to thoroughly enjoy working with people.

I wasn't a huge fan of the construction feeling from whatver was going on in front of the hotel, but thats temporary and beyond your control. Room was good, bed was comfy. Everything was clean and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. We had a good stay and will definitely consider staying here again.

The reason we booked this property specifically is the convenience of the pool. Without it working my kids did not have the pool area to play.

Construction on the premises, so the place didn’t look good, mud in the parking lot. Rooms were ok. Blinds were torn…the place kinda looked shabby.

I stayed with my family for the weekend. The stay at the front were really friendly and our check in lady had excellent customer service. The room could have been cleaner. I booked 2 rooms and we saw a roach in both rooms. I alerted the front desk and told it was a water bug. I nicely let her know it wasn't, it was a roach.

My stay at Holiday Inn Express was absolutely wonderful. My family was there for family reunion and several family members stayed at hotel. When I say the staff was so accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend it

Close to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, excellent breakfast. It wasn't as quiet as we would have liked. We didn't realize it was under construction so that was a bummer. Overall, it was good for the price we paid.

Our stay was very good. Our room was clean although there was a small tear in the window screen and there were several stink bugs trapped between the screen and the window. Not pleasant to see them stuck there every time we opened curtains. We really enjoy the included breakfasts, and the staff is great. They are all very friendly and very helpful and go above and beyond to provide great customer service!

A typical Holiday Inn Express for the most part, but newer facility. Bed was very comfortable, room was good, staff was nice. Full free breakfast. No surprises.

The room was spacious and comfortable but the bathroom set up was poorly designed. You entered the room, the door opened to the right. There was little room to get in as you were up against the shower door and had to walk in along side of the commode. The door had to be closed in order to turn on the light switch. Tough to find in the dark.

Chaise lounge and bottom of box matress had suspect biological stains. Not pleasant to look at. Bathroom fan not working. Pipes radiate other room noise. Tables could use a wipe down again. Iron had something on it that stained my dress shirt.

Our stay was good but the amount of dust & paint on carpets & elevators while in the building was a bit much. There should have been paper or something laid out when entering elevators & floors. Breakfast was good but eggs definitely need to be cooked more. Pancakes were gooey not cooked -check your machine. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We were getting in late from an overseas flight and decided to stay in Charlotte instead of driving 3 hrs home on little sleep. I searched a popular hotel site for something near the airport. We had had reasonable experiences with HIE’s before, so didn’t really think too much before booking this one. I should have read the other reviews……This was obviously another hotel chain that they converted to an HIE. They didn’t do a very good job. The overall appearance is very “tired” with apprentice-level workmanship in the bathrooms, hallways, etc. Exposed screws, terrible caulk work, misaligned toilet seats, and so on. My wife and I have travelled around the world, and stayed in some pretty poor hotels. After one bad experience, we now gauge all low-end hotels by whether they have “Cheetos and dog hair” on the bed. This place did not stoop to that level, but I don’t think it deserves to carry the HIE name either. At this price point I expected a little better. I may just have to start paying more. The breakfast was reasonable, with a few hot items, and pretty good warm cinnamon buns. Everything depends on your perspective, but I can’t recommend this hotel. Not Recommended

Overall a good, clean and convenient place to stay. The breakfast in the morning was great and staff was very friendly. We were not happy with the bathroom condition however and there were ceiling panels that needed replacing. Also There was no fan in the bathroom which wasn’t fun for anyone! The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Some furniture should be replaced but was functional. We would stay again for a good price and decent place to stay.

Currently being renovated. The bathtub in my tub needed to be reglazed or replaced. I am assuming this will be part of renovation. The pool water was dirty and unusable The morning I left, pool service was occuring. With all this said, the hotel room was pleasing, clean and had up to date furnishings. Kudos for the mattresses, pillows and linens. Good free breakfast food buffet with options. Food service staff and reception desk staff.professional and pleasant.
