La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bannockburn-Deerfield

Hotel was decent, the breakfast was ok, parking was good, room was clean. This was our 3rd time staying there as it is the closest hotel to our family’s house. Never had a problem there. Will continue to stay at this hotel when visiting family as it is also affordable. Staff were nice!

The beds were hard and woke up every morning with a back ache. There obviously wasnt anything the hotel can do about it but over all it was a nice hotel with a nice pool as well. We enjoyed our stay.

Location was great, close to highway. Easy access Our room smelled absolutely awful. Like stale musty smoke. I finally complained after my daughter couldn’t breathe after 45 min of being in the room. They offered room across hallway. Smelled just as bad. Finally went and asked for menu back and was given a room on another floor and different wing. It was still old, musty smell but at least it didn’t smell like old cigarette smoke.

The after midnight gentlemen that was there the night we checked in, only said a few weeks when I asked how his evening was, he said he was tired (hella tired) when we checked in at 2am. He also happened to be the same person who was there when we checked out at 3am. I waited for him to offer the room bill, but when I handed him the 2 key cards he said "that's all".

Strange that there was always a Wet Floor sign in the elevators. The property is well kept, and the rooms were very comfortable with nice amenities.

The place is extremely clean, which is big plus. The suites are spacious. The bed was not great. Pillows were lumpy, the mattress had to be a good 20 years or so old and it showed both in how it felt and its nice yellowed hue, and the bed sheet barely fit the bed, so it bunched up easily as I slept. Needless to say, it wasn't a great night's rest, which was really the only thing I needed the room for. Beyond that, I didn't spend much time in the room. My key cards also stopped working twice in the barely 2 nights I was there. It was quite inconvenient to have my arms full of stuff only to realize my key wasn't working, and then have to reload everything back into my car and drive around to the front of the building to get a new key card before driving back to the entrance closest to my room to unload again. All I wanted to do was sleep, and it seemed like so much hassle for such a short stay. My key card quit working AGAIN, as I was preparing for checkout.

The bathroom wasn't fully cleaned. Back and side of toilet had urine and urine stains. Tub had hair all in it when we arrived

Excellent help and service from all front desk employees. Missed wake-up calls were thoroughly investigated by morning front desk morning employee who found that the previous guest had turned off the telephone ringer. She made inquiries as to why the phone calls seamed to not responded to. Accomodations were quickly offered to correct the situation. Outstanding service by both this morning employee and also by the evening check-in employee. Thank you. Both staff members were extremely plesant and helpful.

Overall, a good stay. The location was convenient, check-in was easy, the room was attractive and clean and breakfast was adequate. The only problem was a malfunctioning toilet which had to be manually jiggled after each use to refill the tank. We reported that and management apologized and assured us it would be fixed.

Everything was great beside the shower not draining properly.

The room is clean and cozy. Apparently, the TV size is not good enough for a hotel and the worst is the picture brightness is terrible which we could not find the way to brighten it and we called the frontdesk 2x but nobody came to assist us up until the following day still to no avail. It sucks! we didnt enjoy to have movie marathon.

The hotel smelled like chlorine I started to feel sick and the AC didn’t work in my room and it was kinda warm out. I switched room to that room was worse de chlorine and a gas smell no maintenance person to help you out the one girl who I originally checked in with that day, it wasn’t very.The young blonde who just came in was the worst customer I have ever experienced!

Overall, I had a bad experience. The breakfast had very limited options, and the staff was not cooperative at all. Definitely not what I expected from this place needs major improvement in both service and hospitality.

I felt welcome and cared about at this hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I would only criticize the sound quality of the television. Everything else was excellent!

I was there for 2 weeks so the breakfast felt repetitive, but the egg and potato quality has improved from my last stay. I enjoyed the Halloween music in the halls and movies in the lobby.

The room cleaning staff was on their phone in the hall ourside my door at just after 8:00 am with a LOUD speaker on for like 20 minutes. I even opened my door to stink eye them, and that did not help. Posted quiet time is untill 9:00!!! Crazy rude and obnoxious. The room was nice though.

The room was a minimalist type mod style. Very clean , comfy beds, great lighting. Elevator needs some sprucing up cause it doesnt match the updated lobby, rooms. Front desk staff were so pleasant and helpful even when i booked the wrong date. I will have to talk to Hotels.com about my confusion.

All staff were very thoughtful and the hotel was updated. Nice pool, vigilant staff so you feel safe. Breakfast had no meats! However bread, bagels, muffins were very fresh. Elevator works well but needs touch up. Beds were comfy.

Earlier, in the heat of the check-in moment I made unfair comments about this property. I stand corrected, the room and staff were wonderful and our stay was very pleasant. Please disregard my previous rant.

Better than expected

Property was fine. Check-in fine. Got to room and it was trashed,, front desk provided 2nd room, it also was trashed. Desk offered 3rd room which was ok. Reason: cleaning staff didn’t do their job of cleaning the first 2 rooms. Young lady at front desk was very embarrassed. Ultimately got a room that was ok. Not a lot of quality control. Pretty much no management in sight, just a single young person at the front desk who embarrassed.

Our room & all other common areas we saw were VERY CLEAN & well maintained. Our room was very spacious &our nightly rate was budget friendly!! The free breakfast here was the best we’ve ever had @ a hotel. They offered a BIG variety of hot & cold breakfast foods. We stayed 3 days & each day the hot food was switched up so we weren’t eating the same breakfast every day. We will be visiting this area very frequently now that a daughter started college here — I know we will be staying at this hotel many more times if not every time we come visit.

Perfect location for our son's graduation from Great Lakes Naval Base Graduation. It took about 15 minutes to get from the parking lot of the hotel to the front gate of the base. La Quinta was not listed on any of the Navy sites I looked , and I was a little nervous over this for no reason. The location was clean, the staff was some of the most friendly I have ever encountered, even remembering our names from day to day. There is a pool and gym and free breakfast that was perfectly acceptable. The hotel is a little dated but looks like it is being renovated and the price, the option of a sofa bed, the location and the fact that they did not charge extra to make the room refundable. (La Quinta Deerfield was the only hotel I found that did not charge extra for the room to be refundable which is a huge thing for Navy families. ) It was also about 15 mintues from Sarge's meet and Greet (the dinner held for Navy families the day before graduation) and was less than an hour drive to downtown Chicago and about 30 minutes to Wisconsin! I was very happy with our stay.

Dirty needs to be updated

It was a nice hotel. I didn’t like the fact the air conditioner would not go any lower than 70 and there was no constant fan on button. The pool head way too much chlorine. I’m happy to see that you’re conscious about that, but it was stinging our noses

This was my first stay at a La Quinta. They exceeded my expectations in every catagory. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were large and comfortable. I will definitely stay again, given the opportunity.

This hotel does not offer room cleaning service unless you request it 24 hrs in advance. My room smelled like a smoker’s paradise even though no smoking is part of their policy. Bed was too soft, hammock comes to mind, and it was hard to sleep. Appreciated 24hr access to lemon water and hot water in the lobby and breakfast area.

The facility was rundown, first room was not the best. Ants on the pull out couch bed, sheets on the main bed felt damp. TVs are bizarrely small. They stated it slept 4, but that meant 3 people in the king bed. The couch bed was so small and smelled of mildew. The chair in the living area had stains all over it. The front desk was helpful to move to another room but didn’t offer to discount the price since the options were to move to a smaller, two double bed room. Overall not impressed and would never stay here again. Not for $140 a night. What a joke.

Great Place to stay at while attending US Navy Graduation.

Ants and nats everywhere under the blankets on the tables by the beds it was really bad unfortunately wont be back i had to wipe everything down when packing to leave i expect more for the price i paid.

Breakfast was great! Loved the lobby area. Staff was nice. The rooms need to be renovated. The first room we had the mattress was so oddly shaped. It caved inward and it was very noticeable as soon as u walked in. The air conditioner was not working right. Ended up breaking and they were able to move us in a different room. But still felt the hotel was old or something. New room had like an odor.

Had to check out one day early from a four day trip to return home due to a health emergency in my family. Asked for a refund for the one day unused. Denied by the hotel. Asked Expedia to help and they could not. What should bother Expedia who I have used for more than 25 years is the hotel said if I had booked through them and not Expedia, they would have refunded my money. So why do we use Expedia if they don’t have the ability to offer the same refund to its loyal customers? Highly disappointed.

Bed, that was described as "premium" had dark reddish brown stains on either side of the very worn bed. The room had a strong odor from cleaning products. Walls are THIN. I could hear the people in the next room making rhythmic noises and others running down the hall yelling and laughing at 0200. ONE elevator for the entire 3 floor hotel that was small, hot, and took forever to arrive.

This was my first stay and it exceeded my expectations. I will stay here again in the near future.

Everything was new and squeaky clean. The staff was kind and helpful. I kept accidentally wiping my key card and I had no idea why. So I learned something at this visit. They were so awesome about it.

It was clean. But there was no feeling of abundance. The breakfast seemed sparse. The decorations in the rooms seemed sparse. And hotel management seemed very cheap.

Only negatives would be it might be time for new towels - I found a thin spot in one and some fraying; the shower curtain had some holes in the plastic and the ink from the letters was fading and peeling; and the breakfast was mediocre. Appreciated it had a lot of offerings for breakfast, but the potatoes were dry and stale tater tots, not crispy, and the scrambled eggs were not soft and fluffy, seemed to be powdered eggs.

The hotel was older but nice. Can hear the highway on the side of the hotel that faces the road. Room was clean but dated. Elevator was very old and slow and only one for the whole place which felt a bit inadequate. Overall not a bad place to stay for the night and huge plus for being pet friendly!

Breakfast was ok but very basic. One day overcooked microwave scrambled eggs and sausage gravy. One day fold egg with a little cheese and sausage. The sausage links were very salty. I don't do bread or waffles so I can't comment. Put out some fresh salsa, Pico de Gallo, hard boiled eggs, needed more variety of items.
