Reviews
The hotel's location is praised for its proximity to local attractions and restaurants, but the condition of the rooms is a consistent complaint. Guests frequently mention outdated decor, stained carpets, and malfunctioning amenities. The staff's service is also a mixed bag, with some guests praising their friendliness while others describe them as unhelpful or rude.
- Great location
- Friendly staff (in some instances)
- Outdated and poorly maintained rooms
- Inconsistent service from staff

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the inner harbor. The towels going on the rack in the bathroom is very odd.
- 4/5
The view of the garden and the city was great. The romm and bed were clean and comfortable.

Rooms a bit dated , stained carpet from mini fridge etc. But overall, good location. Pablo - bellhop was excellent as its not an easy place to get in and out of w your vehicle. Quiet , Overall stay was just below excellent

We were here for a night and everything was great. Liked that the parking garage was attached to the hotel. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, shout out to Tyrone in the restaurant who gave exceptional service. The pool belongs to the gym, which is also attached and my son enjoyed swimming there. It’s a close walk to Inner Harbor and there is a Starbucks attached to it which was perfect. Definitely recommend!

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. However it took use 30-45 minutes to get checked in because 2 of the front desk stations were down. Also the pool was not listed on the amenities of the hotel, and neither was it's open hours so we were unable to swim at all during the stay. We were not provided any bottles of water in our room. Because the room is only made up every 2 days, it was not cleaned during our 2 day stay. Therefore the room's coffee station was not replenished. The staff at breakfast was friendly and helpful.

Great location and wonderful staff
- 5/5
The parking is very convenient - it's internally connected to the hotel(s - see below), and payment is much easier now. Self-serve parking with unlimited in-and-out privileges is also very much appreciated, and the flexible parking duration options integrated with text message notifications also worked out quite well. I found it quite convenient. And yes, I know that not everyone is a fan of Starbucks, but it's really convenient to have a meal and coffee option right there in the lobby until 8PM! Especially for people with physical disabilities. The staff there is also fabulous, as they brought daily smiles for us. (Kudos to the barista who was working on his smoooooth twirly paper bag trick. SO. GOOD.) The only complaint is this: The door between the lobby and the Starbucks is not ADA compliant, and having to go outside the lobby just to go to the coffee shop seems a bit unfair. If you could add an ADA push button to open that door that connects the lobby to the Starbucks, then I'd give this Starbucks a 10/10. If we visit the Baltimore area again, we are very likely to be repeat customers - either at the HGI or the Homewood Suites - owned by the same chain and connected internally.

Great place to stay near the Inner Harbor and in close proximity to restaurants and special attractions and events. The room and hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was not the greatest. But there are lots of restaurants to choose from to eat breakfast.

Definitely the coolest room I have had. Very interesting shape and location
- 5/5
Very pleased with my stay. I had a clean, comfortable room with a nice “peekaboo” view of the harbor between buildings. The room furnishings such as the desk and surround for the fridge, etc. were worn and scratched in places and the tub and faucet fixtures could use some attention. Of note, the front desk staff and porter, Pablo, were very pleasant and helpful. I had a quiet 2 night stay and was too busy with my events to use the amenities but did walk into the gym area to get to the garage. I felt the downtown area was fairly safe but only went back/forth to the Marriott for the wedding festivities and took a short walk to Whole Foods and along the harbor walk. Frequent visible presence of tactical police patrolling the area. Parking was easy and reasonable too. I did not eat any food at this hotel, so I can’t offer any feedback on that.

Nice hotel. Clean, comfortable & great view. However, we had booked a king size room. When we got to the property, no one at the front desk told me that they were not available anymore. They just checked us in and handed us keys. When we went to the room, we discovered that they were two very small beds. I called the front desk immediately and they told me that they were going to correct correct it and call me right back. This turned into me calling the front desk three times and then promising to call us back three times. They then told us after an hour that they couldn't do anything so we were just standing in this hotel room for an hour, not unpacking anything and not wanting to dirty the room waiting for them to reassign us when no one called us back the fourth phone call was finally successful after an agent from booking.com called them to file a complaint and try to rectify the situation. The room that they finally gave us was nice, but there was no hot water for showers in the evening or the morning. Very dissapointed. Such a nice hotel but will never stay here again as we are told "rooms are never guaranteed. " After a 6 hour car trip, and a planned anniversary trip, the room better be guaranteed!. Actually be given the room that we reserved. Not given a hard time for asking for the room that we had reserved. Faster responses to our asking to be put into the room reserved. And HOT WATER.

The pool IS UNDER RENOVATIONS FOR WEEKS NOW - and no one bothered to mention that on their hotel.com listing! Booked a hotel night for a conference i had in Baltimore, specifically looking for a hotel with pool, and wonder is close to the convention center, neither of these were actually true ! Talk about misleading false advertisement ! I don’t think I will book on hotel.com again!

The room was nice and clean but no one at the desk advised me that you have to swipe your room card in the elevator to make it work and I thought the elevator was broken. I ended up stuck in a stairwell and lost in the garage and had to carry two heavy bags all the way around the corner and back inside to the desk. It was a very frustrating experience!

I liked how easy and quick Check in was. The vent in my room closed really loudly when the air would turn off. It literally slammed shut every time the heat would turn off that I could barely sleep. It would wake me up in the middle of my sleep.
- 0.5/5
Convenient downtown location Pool was closed despite being advertised and promoted as being open. We wanted to cancel the second night as we were in town for a basketball tournament and lost the first round so didn’t need to stay. We booked thru bookings.com and they were fine canceling but front desk had to approve. Front desk would not allow us to cancel so we were forced to stay an additional night. There was no housekeeping service - our beds were unmade and there were no fresh towels. When I complained to the front desk they said they would tell the housekeeping manager and send someone right up. No one ever came to make up our room.

This is a great location, close to Little Italy and Pier 5, many excellent restaurants, and attractions. The room was spotless, very nicely appointed, and a nice layout. The staff was fabulous, very friendly and kind. They went out of their way to make our anniversary stay enjoyable and problem free. Even guided us through the location and use of the parking garage.

Great central location for walking to Stadium and back, enjoying the sights of the Inner Harbor. In walking distance to the Fells Point too, so much to do. Highly Recommend this Hotel!
- 1/5
The beds were hard as a rock..they charge $25 a day for parking!!?? Who does that? I didn't pay for parking right away so they charged me $50 fee!! No free continental breakfast, if you want breakfast, you pay for it. It was definitely the worst experience ive had at a "Hilton" hotel
- 1/5
The state of the hotel is awful. Starting from the lobby with ripped, stained filthy carpets to the hallways and rooms with dirty peeling wallpaper, stained lampshades and scotch tape all over the ceilings from past parties perhaps? I was shocked to see a curtain in the shower which was also dirty. Sink and bathtub were not clean and both filled up with water when in use getting clogged up. Both our friends and us were freezing in the room every day no matter how high we put the thermostat it blew cold air. All the furniture had seen better days being all banged up and worn. I was there four days and not once did I happen to see a cleaning person or cart. I’m not sure why a hotel of any caliber wouldn’t have a safe. And felt very uncomfortable sharing the elevator with many people in hospital gowns. I have to say the view was incredible and the bed was very comfortable.

The bed we slept in was slumpy and didn’t feel comfortable. The best part of this hotel was the location. Most of the staff we encountered were pleasant buy there were also one or two who are not helpful or friendly.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night and had a great experience! We flew in for a wedding we were attending on a Saturday morning. We were hoping to have early check in for our room, as the wedding we were attending was at 5:00 pm and entering the room at 3:00 pm wouldn’t be sufficient time to get ready. When we arrived at the hotel by 10:15 am, they informed us they had early check in available right away, free of charge! We were very thankful and appreciate to have access to the room early. It allowed us to leave our luggage in the room, enjoy the hotel’s breakfast buffet (for a decently priced fee), and have time to go shop for needed items at a CVS right around the corner. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful corner window that we could look out to the Harbor too. Overall, while our stay was short, we felt very well attendend and comfortable. We definitely intend to return to this hotel if we’re in the area again!

The room was spotless and the view was great. Staff was extremely nice and very helpful. The location was great, plenty of shopping and restaurants and close to the main attractions in Bmore.

Did not eat breakfast at hotel. Directions from staff for parking could of been a little clearer, but found location. Outside of that, everything was good except our hot water ran out quickly and had to wait inbetween showers to give it time to heat back up.
- 5/5
The Front Desk staff were very welcoming and pleasant throughout the duration of my stay! This hotel simply feels like “home”. The breakfast was great and convenient and there were always events in the restaurant during the nighttime for those staying. 5 star service ⭐️
- 5/5
We were in town for the half marathon and the hotel is in walking distance to the starting/finishing line. The staff was super nice, the room was clean, the hotel's breakfast was great, and there were multiple restaurants around. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Wasn’t the worst stay, but wasn’t the best.
- 3/5
Small room, bit beat up and the temperature is fixed so you can't really get the room cold. Shower water pressure also comes and goes. Stay were friendly and helpful
- 3/5
Parking for the building is not intuitive and hard to find without going in and asking first, which is a pain as theres no parking outside the building. In the corner room, there is a giant pillar that prevents the curtains from closing completely, leaking in light.
- 5/5
Excellent stay in a nice, walkable area. Will stay again.
- 2/5
The air conditioning was not working in our room. We called at 3 am to either get another room or try to fix the problem. Maitenence came up at 8 am, which woke us up. There was not extra toilet paper. The shower turned on and off while showering. Our room did not work so we had to spend time to get a replacement.

- 3/5
Hotel was ok but quite rundown for the area and the cost. It was not especially dirty but the wallpaper was peeling, the carpets in the whole place were stained, the bedding didnt fit well and it just seemed like Hilton forgot about this place. The location is great but i should have paid the extra $40 to stay at the Marriott. Also, the vents in the room blow directly at the head of the bed, so its like sleeping with a face in your face.
- 5/5
Room was fabulous!!!
- 5/5
I appreciated the ladies at the front desk Asia and her coworker. I ABSOLUTELY loved the view and walking distance! We will be back!

While the location of the hotel is great-walkable to the waterfront, Fell’s Point, shopping and dining options-the staff are the true all-stars. The team at the front desk is exceptional-genuinely friendly, attentive, professional and clearly focused on ensuring their guests have an enjoyable stay. The gentleman at the door was also a gem-we were greeted with a big smile and a helping hand when we arrived, and he had a great rapport with his teammates and other guests. Definitely recommend if you are staying in the Inner Harbor area-great spot and excellent staff!

Big, comfortable, clean room … nice breakfast. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Only thing I missed: a “grab and go” type shop in the lobby— for cold drinks, snacks, etc.
- 4/5
The hotel has an excellent location and offers a very good breakfast. I loved the direct connection to the gym and pool, which made staying active super convenient. That said, the rooms could use some updates. The bathroom has double doors that don’t offer much privacy—I think a standard single door would be a better choice. Some refreshed décor and more comfortable comforters would also enhance the overall experience.
- 5/5
The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. The room was great and we enjoyed the view. The location is very convenient for local tourists to walk to many inner harbor sites. The Garden Inn is a great place the stay when visiting Baltimore!

The staff at this property was really rude. First they gave me the wrong room with two beds instead of a king size like I made in my reservation. When I called to complain they told they were booked and to deal with it. No apologies, nothing . When we checked out the lady in the front was again rude . She asked how stay was and we said it was bad she interrumpted us and stated “ oh , you paid through expedia you are good to go” horrible service no apologies . Their customer service is non existent

I booked this hotel specifically because it was my son's birthday day and this hotel had a pool. Little did I know that the pool closed at 3:30 pm while check in was 3:00 pm. Wouldn't have stayed here if i knew this info.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean and neat. The staff was superb, especially Leticia at the front desk. We arrived 45 minutes before check in. However, at 3 p.m., which is check in time, no rooms were available due to housekeeping issues. Fourty five minutes later our room was ready. When we got to our room, it had two double beds and we reserved a king bed. Leticia quickly helped us with this issue.

- 4/5
This property was a good value for the money. The staff was friendly and efficient. The bellman superb, with helpful information on parking, checkin and the area. Lots of restaurant choices but be sure to check google before you pick one as there are several fine dining ($100 ) establishments mixed in. On-site breakfast - Omelettes and French Toast were VERY good as well as the service. Continental breakfast was ‘free’ if ordering from the menu. Not so great - no clear direction on the onsite parking (behind the building/around the block). The pool is part of a fitness center attached to the building. The hours on the weekend are very restricted which is disappointing when the kids are counting on it. Pool closed at 3 on Saturday and was only open from 8-9 a.m. on Sunday before checkout. Pool itself was super warm and there was a hot tub and sauna as well which were not busy at 8 a.m. :). Last but not least, maid or someone had peed in the toilet and left it there which is certainly a turnoff to see first thing. Despite those couple of drawbacks, we spent $50-$75 less than on comparable hotels and I would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Broken refrigerator. Moved to another room. Broken refrigerator again this one ruined food.
- 1/5
Did not disclose a $30 parking fee!! No valet service. Parking garage is totally inconvenient as I had to drive around aimlessly to find it. Poorly marked. Bed was uncomfortable. Rooms are tiny. Door is broken at the bottom. They gave me an argument for a breakfast I paid for. Small TV.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon, traveling with our two little ones, expecting a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Instead, we encountered a series of disappointments, rude service, and a serious safety concern that completely ruined our trip. First, the bathroom situation was unacceptable—there was no exhaust fan, and instead of a proper door, there was a closet-style door that provided no privacy whatsoever. This was incredibly inconvenient for a family stay. Breakfast was another major issue. For a Hilton-branded hotel, we never expected that breakfast would not be included—something even the most budget-friendly hotels offer. Not only was there zero communication about the additional charge, but the selection was shockingly poor. When we inquired about hot breakfast options, we were told they weren’t available because there weren’t enough guests. Yet, we were only informed that breakfast was an extra charge after we had already eaten—when we were unexpectedly handed a check to sign. The lack of transparency and quality was completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. However, the most alarming issue was a serious safety hazard. Our 8-year-old daughter got bundled up and stuck in her tightly tucked sheets during the night. She was struggling to free herself, and if we hadn’t noticed in time, this could have led to a choking hazard.!
- 5/5
Great location. Easy to walk around and go visit fells point. Would recommend this location to anyone.
- 1/5
My honest opinion, the room provided wasn’t up to par to the standards expected. Wasn’t my first time staying at this hotel, I know the types of rooms they have. For some reason they provided me a room that wasn’t what I asked and paid for as well as a that was frankly falling apart. I have pictures of every issue too. Unacceptable.

The room was very clean. I appreciated the view, especially at night. The staff was polite and helpful. The one thing i didn't like was there was a homeless man in the lobby of the hotel, and when i was checking out their were a couple that was standing sround in front.

This is a Hilton Garden is a 5 star hotel (maybe minus a spa lol)… Truly a fantastic location and very well kept! Stay here with confidence!

Great location. Property was very clean although the rooms were on the small size and needed some updating. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

I will say my biggest pet peeve has to be the parking garage. I truly don't understand why a rate is not created for your guest. I may have spent more in parking than I did the actual room.

Got there in the afternoon first had to pay $55 a day to park parked at wrong parking garage first time so lost $55 then had to pay another $55 to park at my hotel asked the person behind the counter if I could stay an extra day, she said, of course I could if I needed it coffee was cold never no coffee cups was told there was a complementary breakfast was nothing asked where parking garage was was handed a piece of paper. Nothing else next time I will do my research before I stay somewhere.

All in all we were very pleased with our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. The food in the restaurant on the second floor of the hotel was excellent! We did not care for however, the pillows! They were so flat, that even when we put all the pillows together, they were still very uncomfortable.

The heat in the door was not working properly

Location was great.

The hotel location is great! So much is within walking distance, inner harbor, stores, restaurants, movie theater, and markets! Everything you need.

Greeted by friendly staff. We were given bottles of water. We went to the hotel bar for happy hour. Margaritas were great! We had a great time! My only complaint, I wish we had a blanket. We only had 2 sheets on our bed.

Had an issue with my room door rubbing at the top-had a piece come off. Turned the piece on to the staff at the front desk. And the elevators are loose where the button panel is. The whole thing was rocking back and forth. Need to spend time on maintenance/repairs. Other than that, everything was awesome!

The welcome was lukewarm

Nice property. Parking was a little difficult.

Breakfast was $7 per child and $16 per adult. Do not book your stay here if you’re looking for a pool. We were mislead by a private club within the hotel that offers pool with limited hours. Closes right after check in and has private lessons till 12:30 during weekend. Paid almost $300 for the night, would have spent that somewhere on the actual harbor. Staff awesome. Rooms had a lot of stains. Air conditioner in room worked some of the time.

Nice location

This place is super convenient, a block from the water and lots restaurants..crabcakes... hotel staff super friendly/helpful. The hotel is older, so maybe that's why its such a good deal? I like the bar and fitness center.

Location was good but actual property was horrible. Old and outdated.

The linens were very old and did not fit the bed. The fitted sheet kept popping off because it was too small for the deep mattress. The king bed was so soft that my husband and I sank to the middle all night. Thank goodness this was only a one-night stay. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, helpful and kind.

Fantastic location and staff was wonderful but the hotel iteself needs an update. Beds and bedding was motel 6 quality and needs new carpet and wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Needs updating.

We were in Baltimore for a Bruce Springsteen Concert in September 2024. We travel with are 2 small fur babies, so, of course they put us in a room for pets (which means the carpet has not been steamed cleaned). Upon opening the door the room had a non agreeable smell (hotel booked could not change rooms. Asked for towels one day got them a day and a half later. No top for ice bucket. Yes, we tried to speak to a manager but no go.

The hotel is great, maybe old, breakfast is not free and very simple. Anyway it’s acceptable.

Sheets were dirty , carpet extremely dirty. Uncomfortable bed, reservation was for a king size bed and was placed in a double full size Uncomfortable mattress.

The staff were amazing. Only issue was the bartender, had no idea how to make drinks! I am talking a simple vodka and lemon. He messed that up

Our room wasn't ready at 3PM check in time. Normally we wouldnt worry about it, but we had an event at 4pm. Once room was ready the check in person was very efficient. Lobby is very nice. Plenty of seating. Our room, was on.the corner and it 2 walls of windows. It was a great view. It could use some updates. Tableside lamps didn't work, shower handle fell off, shower door handle was loose. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. All in all we would stay again for the location.
