Hampton Inn & Suites Bakersfield/Hwy 58, CA

Loved the location, the pet friendly community. Breakfast was nice. Only complaint was the train in the morning, and the one elevator. Otherwise would def stay again.

Good location. We stayed here last year and were looking forward to it again. Unfortunately, things seemed to have gone downhill. I tried to make tea when we got there and the water was lukewarm. My husband wanted coffee and there wasn’t any dark roast. So he settled for light roast but it was also lukewarm. Our room was fine but they had turned the air conditioner off so the room was around 90 degrees. Took quite a while to get it cooled down. When I went to use the bathroom the toilet paper holder fell off the wall. I did appreciate the size of the refrigerator with separate freezer. Breakfast was good but again no dark roast coffee. Will probably look for a different place next year.

Only one problem but it was a big one. We stayed at the same Hampton Inn in Bakersfield on Monday and on Friday. Both nights we got very little sleep due to pounding noises above us. They persisted. On Friday night and into the morning hours we tried to have the night clerk resolve it but without success.

I was very tired had a long drive / long day we check in slept on very comfortable bed in a clean hotel.

The breakfast was a nice feature, giving us a good start to each day of our stay. Also -- my wife loved the water pressure in the shower. Apparently she needs a certain level of pressure to rinse the soap out of her hair, and most lodging establishment have not pleased her in that regard. She gives an A+ to the Hampton Inn, from a woman's point of view.

Was very happy with my stay. Was in town for work for a couple days. The room was clean and very cozy, the bed was very soft and comfy. Would definitely stay again.

I had 2 rooms paid over $600 and was charged $250 because staff said one of the rooms smelled like smoke I explained to them my daughter is 5 months pregnant and doesn't smoke we smelled smoke coming from a other room and maids were using a fan to air it out but we were blamed and charged mind you we have stayed at this hotel several times and have never had a problem I contacted management and no one called me back I called again no call back I called again and was told to o call tomorrow because house keeping had different management I have spent over $1100 in a week at this location and a few thousand at the other hotels in the past 2-3 weeks and have had no issues anywhere else I will not stay at this location again I don't like the way management handled this issue or being blamed for something we did not do also no one getting back to me about the matter

Staff was great. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and well stocked. Parking was easy and safe. This Hampton Inn is one of the nicest ones I have stayed at. Our only complaint was that we had some noisy neighbors upstairs who were stomping around in their room (our ceiling).

In general, the facility was above average. For some reason we were assigned a room for physically challenged. Maybe it was their pet room. But speaking of pet friendly, the pet adder was three and a half times everyone else, $75. The bath faucet needed work and the toilet would randomly auto flush. The desk clerk when we checked in lacked friendliness.

The motel was quiet and the rooms were clean. The Mexican restaurant next door was very good and a relaxing place to have dinner.

The location the breakfast and the employees were excellent. Easy to access. Can’t think of anything.

The furniture was old, the mattress was saggy, deferred maintenance. The pet fee was extremely high and taxes were added to pet fee.

The staff is AWESOME!!!! The location being soooo close to the busy railroad tracks isn’t ideal & really sucked when the trains blew their horns constantly between 1 AM and 3 AM.

First floor room I had no phone signal and there were people outside my window talking loudly. I requested a different room. The young man on duty kindly moved me. This Hampton is old. It feels dirty. Chairs with big dirty spots. The 3rd floor room was ok. The restaurant bar next door was loud./music. I didn’t get much rest!

Breakfast was okay. We had issues with the plumbing since we got there, everyday we had to contact management. We took pictures, showed them to management and they couldn’t do anything for us. Their solution was a $10 gift card. The people above us wouldn’t let us sleep, they would be stomping their feet and we could hear it loud and clear, waking us up from our sleep.

Maria was too busy on phone to help with pillows. Took an hour and she kept forgetting. Even though we love free stuff she did not charge us for our drinks at the front desk. The room appeard clean but there was a pincher bug in my bed, and the other bed had stains on the comforter. There were gnats in the sink.. they kept coming back, but from where? The concierge/front desk attendant offered to sitch rooms for us but we were exhausted at that point. We also tried to book another hotel on the west side of town, but they were booked. This hotel was also next to manufacturing facilities that emitted some sort of steam/smoke that smelled like fertilizer mixed with vinegar.

Overall a good room. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. The carpet looked a little worn. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. We loved all the extra pillows. The breakfast buffet had oatmeal, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, potatoes, toast, make your own waffles, yogurt, fruit, juices, and coffee. Everything tasted good. A dedicated employee made sure nothing ran out.

The stains on the furniture and bedding looked suspiciously like bedbug stains, which made me very uneasy. The only reason I stayed the night at all was because I had my two-year-old child with me, already asleep, and I didn’t want to wake them at midnight to move to another hotel. However, I checked out the very next morning, far earlier than I had planned, because I could not tolerate staying any longer. What made the situation worse is that the staff didn’t even ask why I was leaving early or show any concern for the condition of the room. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would never stay here again.

Staff was amazing Laura helped us check in after a 4 hour drive she was very nice and attentive. Also the breakfast crew on Sunday were really nice this hotel is my favorite when I come visit family in Bakersfield!.

We were there for a wedding which made it convenient to get to the venue. Lots of gas stations. Right of the freeway. Also available fast food restaurants. Hotel provided breakfast in the morning-which made it easier for us.

Just off the highway when enter the outskirts of Bakersfield. Only downside is that the windows let though a lot of outside noise. for one reason or an other a outside work crew started with a leaf blower at 4am. So did not get a full nigh of sleep. The rest of the hotel was good.

We have stayed here several times over several years. The property is starting to show its age. Broken tiles in the elevators, coffee maker in the room didn’t work. The breakfast was okay but the staff weren’t very attentive. No brown sugar for the oatmeal, eggs were dried out, hash browns were almost gone. The wifi wouldn’t connect to the internet. Things are starting to slip there.

The complementary breakfast was delicious. Much better than I was expecting.! All the staff was very friendly and inviting. The room was spacious and there was plenty of parking. My family and I are very satisfied.

It was confusing to find the outdoor pool. There needed to be more signage to locate it. They should have more luggage carts, since another guest came & got it from me the second I'd unloaded it, both arriving & departing. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay, & we enjoyed the wide selection of breakfast items.

We like Hampton Inns and Suites for their friendly staff, consistency in neatness and cleanliness. We’ve stayed in this HIS several times before. The only complaint we have is that the shower has soap buildup on the door around the edges and corners. Otherwise, we’re happy.

Only stayed to sleep from 9pm to sunrise. Comfy bed. AC in room was wonky (controller) so only thermostat controlled it. Kept shutting off during the night & prefer to keep fan/noise on as white noise. Oh well. A few wobbly lamp shades & loose outlets (wouldn’t hold charger plug in). Took a while for hot water in bath faucet but shower ok. Needs better or newer shower doors. Pretty spacious room. Good size fridge. Microwave could be bigger but sufficed. Breakfast was decent & hot. Plentiful selections & good seating area to eat. Well worth the $100 on Expedia to stay here as 1/2 way point to our destination. Also right off Hwy 58 and super convenient with Dennys next door & a cute lil mex place out front. Didn’t get to eat at either but appears clean and decent. Parking is good size but we use handy-placard so ADA spots were good. I’d recommend. Didn’t get to use or see pool either :/

Not the best experience here. We booked this hotel because of the convenience of breakfast every morning @6:30 but one morning we waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing. Because we needed to leave early, we left at 6:40 with no breakfast. Very disappointing and definitely not in our schedule to have to buy breakfast elsewhere when we should have eaten at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Easy check in, once we got to the room it was overall fairly clean there was hair still on floor and in shower drain. The water in the shower took a REALLY long time to get hot. (Roughly 1-2 mins). No complaints and if in the area again we would book it again.

Convenient close to Fwy 58

Quiet area of town with places to eat nearby. The rooms were nice and clean. The king sized bed was very comfortable. We loved the blackout shades which kept the room very dark and allowed us to sleep in longer than we expected.

The power was out most of my first day there. The receptionist was not at all welcoming. The bedsheets and towels has a very off and foul odor.

Our stay at this Hampton Inn was good. The room was spacious and comfortable. We got a room away the traffic, but didn’t know about the trains passing close by. Of course each train had to blow its horn four times.

Check in was very lengthy, there was a huge insect in my room that I had to hunt down, it was noisy from the nearby freeway, and there are no usb ports in rooms to charge devices.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The sheets were dingy. The breakfast was less to be desired. I ate there the first morning after check in but I passed on the 2nd day. The fitness room smelled like animals had been in there. It made me nauseous!! There was a leaf blower going at 03:55am on a Friday morning .Totally unexpectible!!!

Great location right off the freeway, quiet, dennys right next door if you mention you’re staying at Hampton Inn you get a discount!!

I had to drive 3 hrs home after having a few drinks and they still have not refunded my room I paid for.

We stayed here traveling back from San Francisco. This hotel had a good breakfast and the rooms were cleaning. I would stay here again if we travel through.

This is a great location to take a rest on a road trip. Right off freeway, clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, close to a Mexican restaurant, Denny's, Starbucks, gas stations, and a McDonalds.

Had to switch rooms due to back flowing sink. Traveling with small children so this was not ideal. Breakfast eggs and sausage were terrible. All other items were fine. Will most likely stay again due to convenient location.

Just stayed 1 night but room was clean and breakfast was good with several choices to eat. Bed was comfortable and several restaurants near by. Great stay.

Contactless check in does not work. I waited at the door for the digital key but no key was provided. Had to go back down to the front desk to recheck in. The clerck wasnt that nice either. Then no room service after first night. You have to ask for room service. They the coffe so you can make it but they dont give you water. I will not stay there anymore.

Great customer service by "Greg" my walk in to the hotel i felt welcome. As soon I walk to the lobby he welcome me in with a big smile. He told me if had been to downtown bakersfield before and advised me to keep my personal and expensive items in the hotel. That made me think that he looks out for his customers. The stay and room was 💯 satisfy. I will return back to the hotel on my next visit to bakersfield.

We are older and very mobile. Our room was a handicap room. We were fine with that but the tub needs a vertical grab bar at the shower head end for safety and a towel hook near tub for convenience. Breakfast not up to standards…coffee cold, eggs watery, & oatmeal too thick.

Friendly check in host. Great information when asking about dinner options in the area.

Staff was friendly and hotel seemed clean. However, the towels were small & thin from so many washes. The pillows were cruddy & thin. Things just seemed worn out a bit overall

It’s a good place to stop if you must.

The shower doors were covered in mold, the room was noisy and they sprayed it with air fresheners that were too strong.It smelled like the guy at the front desk was smoking pot when we checked in. I will not recommend or return to that hotel ever
