Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Bakersfield Central

Hotel is heavy worn and dirty and in need of remodel badly. Don't stay here, but at the Fairfield by the airport instead which is the same price and vastly newer and cleaner.

Nothing Night auditor was very rude to me , security was stalking me And made me feel so uncomfortable so I canceled my reservation and they wouldn’t refund me and took all my money .

I didn’t like anything. I hated everything here ; very horrible. I will never go back.

Traffic noise was rough but everything else worked for me. (Weirdly their exhaust fans in the bathroom blow instead of suck so that’s weird but okay. I stayed twice in different rooms. Same thing.)

Easy access from the highway. Very noisy room and poor breakfast. They charged me for parking when it was clear in my reservation it was free. They didn’t inform me and took the money after my check out from the deposit. I sent several email and never received an answer. Awful experience.

Offer was free parking but they changed policy now charge $10. Broken glass in parking lot. Breakfast didn’t serve any juice. Machine broken. Only milk & coffee. Allowed older man to serve himself and eat in the dining room with no shoes. They rationed the butter. Had to ask for it and had to wait till attendant was available.

Amazing staff, and it was so close to the venue. We were going to also had a large variety of restaurants surrounding the area, which made dinner plans easy!

Breakfast had a wide selection to choose from.

The staff was very friendly and helpful when it came down to checking in. The breakfast bar was well stocked and the workers kept a close eye on it. Room was large and it was quiet at night. Would recommend.

Dominique was extremely helpful. One of your rooms smelled like cigarettes. She was able to accommodate me and the room I got was perfect . Her customer service skills were top notch.

The clerk that helped me check in was amazing. Made check-in super easy and fast. Property and room were clean. I will definitely stay here again.

I had a really great stay here. The room was really nice and had great ambience. It made me feel very comfortable. They also were able to accommodate me and my service animal which was amazing. The hotel was really clean and they had many options for the Continental breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to pay $10 a night for parking and the AC made loud noises. Granted, I am a light sleeper. Besides that I had a great stay and I would definitely come again.

It was quite area really nice room and had a good time in the room I found a bug on a bed I think it was like a tick or flea, also my tv stopped working in the middle of watching, I was switching channels and out of no where my tv went silent and frozen and then turned back on but and it displayed a no signal, I went down to the floor to talk to front desk and told him my issue, told me to disconnect it the tv from the power cord outlet wait 5 minutes and connect it back but didn’t work i didn’t want to mess with it scared I would get blame and not get my deposit back, once i checked out i let them know the issue and explained everything again. The cable box was making a weird noise when the signal went out on the tv, have a video recording of it and showed front desk

That I had booked a booking and it was given to another person when I had booked 4hrs before I even got there . I had to scramble and find another hotel. Shouldn’t they be checking the app as well.

When we checked in the guy working was so dry then we get to our room and it had a weird moldy stench and the welcome plate had another persons name on it. The bed was hard and the blackout curtains were not blackout it was just not it. The breakfast was also not it. And they charge for parking. I was happy it was only one night.

We picked this because it was in a safer part of town according to crime maps. Needed a place to stay on road trip

It was nice on the inside. Outside was kinda sketchy. It was suppose to be a suite. But really just had a couch and another TV that didn't work.

The hotel's television didn't work. There was no internet connection. The air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a train passing through our room. We asked to be moved to another room and were told that these problems were throughout the hotel. We made a special point to stay here because we like Marriott's. We were bitterly disappointed in our decision.

Hunter’s Steakhouse and Carl’s Jr. was just walking distance so that was very convenient. Front staff JCU was very kind. He made the check in and check out seamless. Will definitely be back.

Estrella was amazing, there was an issue with the air conditioning system and she was able to move me to another room right away. She was extremely professional and took action immediately.

The amenities listed on the website did not align with the hotel. Stuff made us wait an additional 30 minutes for check in and we made it to the hotel at 7pm. The breakfast was good, but the accessible room could have been better.

Literally an overnight stay, checked in late and left early. Room could use an update, bed was okay, window panes were thin heard the street traffic pretty loud had to turn ac on to drown out the outside noise, shower had noticeable mold issues.

The air conditioner is so loud when it cycles in it woke me up multiple times during the night. The shower had water damaged ceiling and peeling so it just looked gross.

Really enjoyed our stay, one of the cleanest hotels in Bakersfield. I do wish the windows were free of dust but they were high sized windows. The mattress and the pillows felt great and the rooms were spacious.

Bed was super comfortable. Check in was easy. Breakfast had good options. Would have liked to see more fruit and pastries. Check out was quick!

We love the food options and the staff are great

The only issue we had was the water didn’t get hot in the shower. They told us they were going to be working on them soon and didn’t realize our room was part of the problem too. I’d stay again if we need a room again.

I used to live in Bakersfield many years ago (30years ago) I still have family there so I return often and this was the first time I’ve stayed at this particular Fairfield location. I loved it so much , on my next visit plan to stay there again!

Requested 1st floor got second, breakfast was not a appealing, mixed fruit would have been nice.

Room was supposed to have a sofa and a table and all it had was a bed and desk.

Nice hotel! Room was clean and bed was comfy. Wish the AC worked better, seemed like it just wouldn’t cool the room and it would turn of on its own and we would wake up sweating.

The only thing i did not liked was the bathroom, old and needs remodeling . around the tub and sink .

The property is in excellent condition and the staff were very welcoming. The negatives were a very weak wi-fi signal in our room (519) and terrible breakfast sausage, dry, tasteless, and served at room temperature.

The customer service was great. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. I would give higher rating but unfortunately the 2nd elevator was not working which delayed access to the guest rooms.

Room had microwave, coffee maker and fridge and ice down the corridor.

It was super easy to Park, there were a couple of eating options next door and the room was super clean and the bed very comfortable

The main reason I stay at this hotel when traveling to Bakersfield (once a month) is because of the front desk clerk Dominque, the epitome of a kind & respectful employee.

Room was a bit grimey and extremely noisy from outside traffic and hallway. I was going to mention it to manager but they were busy dealing with others and their issues at the front desk.

Staff was very friendly. Room was not impressive. The bed was very uncomfortable and the road noise from outside was very loud. Usually, I turn on the fan on the air conditioning unit to create white noise but it wasn't possible with the unit. Would be helpful if the room had a white noise machine in the room and a new mattress. Bathroom also showed signs of age. Wall paper was shredded and obvious old water damage. Great location and nice staff but I assume stay here again unless they fix up the rooms.

I missed check-in on Monday eve duue to scheduling conflict on my part and arrived Tuesday afternoon. And although it could have been problematic, Dominique was FANTASTIC in handling any potential problems, straitened out the schedule, and an additional night at my behest. Great job! One downside was the maids missed servicing the room on Wednesday but things happen.

Booked the room about 30 min in advance on Hotels.com Presiden't's Day weekend Sunday due to needing an overnight break on a day-long family car drive on a dark and stormy night that was taking us past Bakersfield. Too tired to keep driving. We were sooo tired and hungry. The lobby was bright, clean and a sight for sore eyes. The front desk clerk was sooo welcoming, friendly and helpful. Happily gave us a couple extra Keurig cups for the morning as we had to be up before the free breakfast. Room was very quiet despite being next to the elevator. Room very clean and had mini fridge for our cooler items from our trip. Slept great. Bathroom a bit cramped at vanity our toiletry bags, but no way a deal breaker. Free breakfast was eggs, waffles you make yourself, croissant breakfast sandwiches with sausage and eggs, oatmeal (very runny rolled oats!), with loads of toppings to choose from. Lots of fresh coffee. Attendants were very friendly and the breakfast area was fairly spread out and very clean. We'd definitely crash here again if needing a stopover on a long road trip (we'll have plenty!). It's right off Hwy 99 and on hwy that cuts over to I-5. Booked this hotel because of it's excellent reviews, amenities, and we were going to drive right by it on our route. BTW, the front desk clerk recommended Rusty's for pizza delivery when we called down asking for a recommendation. Pizza was great!! Rusty's quoted 90 minute wait time, but it arrived in only 30-40 minutes.
