Nice place. I stay here when I'm traveling with my entire family because they are pet friendly. The young lady I encountered on staff was really nice and accommodating. She works in the evenings. Everyone else it depends on who it is and what time of day I guess. Rooms were ok. Beds are definitely not queen size. My wife and I were practically on top of one another just to sleep. I suggest wood/tile floors because they allow pets. Didn't eat breakfast there so I don't know how the food taste. It is a restaurant so that's why it's an additional charge. All in all it was ok. Again I stay when I'm traveling with my 2 dogs.

We were very impressed with front desk personnel and even the maids we encountered in the hallways. Very personable and welcoming. Cleanliness of the room was superior and we felt that the shower was like a glorious waterfall instead of an annoying minimalist spray. Loved this place!

The air conditioning unit gave off a very moldy smell that was hard to deal with and felt unsafe

The air conditioner had a sign that said it was controlled by the wall thermostat. The wall thermostat would not go below 72 and did not turn on the. air conditioning unit. The room was 77 degrees first thing in the morning. The bed was extremely hard

Next to the bus and train station, cleanliness, good staff
- 4/5
Great room, comfortable bed. Had the most difficult TV remote I have ever tried to use. Took forever to figure out and get the TV on.
- 5/5
Great stay at this property passing through Bakersfield, I would stay there again.
- 4/5
The property is well maintained, clean with a security gate in downtown Bakersfield so much quieter than freeway locations. Breakfast costs extra.
- 5/5
The staff were all friendly. Easy check in and out. The coffee machine is excellent. Housekeeping staff were approachable. There was even a smoking area which a BIG plus to me. Thank you so much

The location is easy to find plenty of parking I was put in the room with the AC did not work I let them know early they assured me it would be working I had a 7:00 meeting turned at 9:00 and my room was 85°. So rather than relaxing I have to pack up my things and move to another

Great beds are comfortable

The staff members were all quite helpful and polite. Theres a lovely little resteraunt attached to this hotel called Mango Haus that had some terrific Chilaquiles and some really well done cocktails. There is alot of parking and its gated which is a plus for down town bakersfield. Only downside is youre no where close to any stores or gas its all just business and resteraunts in the area. But also super quick access to the Amtrak so that really weighed out bad.

Two things were unacceptable. First, the cleaning products used in the hallways were so strong, like carpet fresh on steroids, that the room stunk of it as well. I travel with a full room size hepa filter and the room was still disgustingly stinky the next morning. I would have gone elsewhere but I had already paid for the room. The woman at the counter said I should have asked for another room but since it was actually the hallway that was the problem, it wouldn’t have helped. Second, BREAKFAST NO LONGER INCLUDED. IT’S $10. That definitely should have been disclosed when I made the reservation. My recommendation is stay elsewhere unless these 2 things won’t bother you.

My family and I had an amazing experience stating at the Best western Plus. We had beautiful room and the pool was refreshing on a hot day.

I don't like the fact that there isn't some sort of Continental breakfast. I especially don't like the fact that they close their Gates so you're unable to exit and enter at your own. Will. You have to call someone in the office and hopefully their answer? If you can find a way to get their phone number. There shouldn't be any reason to completely lock up the residence or lock the residents out like that. I wouldn't stay here again because of that.

Within walking distance to Dignity Health Arena, Theater and Convention Center, so takes care of finding parking and traffic at same time. Secure facility after 11p. Offered us a discounted breakfast for $10 at the attached restaurant, BUT available menu was Prix Fixe at four items, so take it or leave it. Should have just stopped somewhere on the way out of town.

THIS PLACE WAS PERFECT THANK YOU
- 5/5
I loved the little bridge you drive over to get to our room

Service and room were excellent. Only fault was the chairs in the room are quite uncomfortable and the desk chair reclines excessively.
- 5/5
I didn't stay for breakfast - but i will absolutely be back and I am excited to try the next time I come. Staff is great, room was super comfortable, laid out nicely, as well.
- 5/5
Yes parking felt very secure and the place was the most fresh and clean establishment I have been in for awhile. Our room pas so nice am eagerly looking forward to coming back.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. I did not have the opportunity to eat breakfast, but had some great coffee. I did not use the parking lot, as I rode the train there.
- 5/5
Simple but clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Was able to check in a little early with no problems, we thought we were missing the ironing board so we asked room service for one and they were gonna bring it but we ended up finding it hehe. The property was really clean though.
- 4/5
Close to downtown and Amtrak
- 4/5
I did not have breakfast. It is available for a $10 fee. Do not know what it consists of. The property is enclosed by a steel fence, so it was very safe. Ample parking

Staff is very nice and friendly. I felt very safe there.

stayed for half marathon race the next day, got the exact room I wanted, clean everything I needed for my short 12 hour stay. Checking in was a breeze no problems very friendly staff, made extra effort to get the room I wanted. Housekeeping was in the hallway and asked for directions to ice machine and she was very friendly too. This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and will def be back again next year. Best part is gated parking area and well lit so your vehicle is safe.
- 5/5
The staff is the best, my son forgot his thermo bottle and the cleaning personnel came out looking for us with the bottle, that gesture was the best of that place, I was really grateful.
- 5/5
Receptionist was awesome.
- 5/5
Nice and clean. Comfortable bed. The shower products were very nice. Only there one night but I would be happy to stay there again when in Bakersfield.
- 5/5
Business trip, one night
- 4/5
Business trip- stay here due to safety. Locked parking area. Breakfast is a bit skimpy, more slightly above continental, but will need to go out for bigger plates. Nice room, clean and fairly spacious. Across from the transit terminal, and about a block to the arena events. Lots of restaurants to choose from, some walkable.
- 5/5
Wonderful! Extremely happy with our stay. The room was so clean and welcoming. The staff was so friendly. There was a gym with just the right amount of equipment. The pool was lovely.

The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff was simply wonderful! The evening clerk even took the time to assist me with my cellphone problem I was having.
- 4/5
The room was clean, bed comfortable price was fair. I did need a pen and paper and found none. There was a glitch on my Expedia payment and I had to pay BW on check out. Expedia eventually reimbursed me.
- 2/5
Front staff in checking in
- 2/5
If they send you to the rooms in the back, over the bridge, they reek of marijuana. The homeless in the area have access to that side of the hotel where you can see them inside the building getting ice in their buckets. My pillows reeked of cigarette smoke and the hotel carp[ets from the hallway and in the bedrooms are very outdated, dirty, old. It was all pretty gross. What you see in the picture under the Hotels.com website is NOT what the hotel looks like in reality.
- 3/5
great room - needed better bed.

Hotel is grimy and outdated. This day was fine.

The staff is wonderful. The rooms were nice. It was a quick walk to the Dignity Health Arena which was where our event was. Highly recommend

I should have known “pet friendly” I wasn’t going to get a clean room but finding a dry dog or cat poop inside the room under the table did it for me. Do not stay here!

Room was clean. Staff was extremely courteous. I have and would continue to recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Room was clean, well maintained and great location to downtown. Staff was excellent, courteous and very accommodating to our needs.
- 4/5
Ended up in the rooms over the bridge in the back, there was no gate to access the street and I had to walk back over the bridge and out through the entrance to get to the street to walk to the convention center which was very inconvenient.
- 3/5
Room wasn’t that clean. What looked like fecal matter by the toilet paper roll, floor felt like grit. The chair was ripped and a mirror was broken. Overall kind of a scummy feeling room. The grounds were clean and landscaped, and security fence was nice. Wouldn’t stay here again though.
- 4/5
It was fine. My room was clean but had a musty smell. My sister and brother in law stayed on the same floor and their room had no smell. That was my only complaint. No big deal. I didn’t even mention it to the staff.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
Room was clean, room temperature was perfect without having to use climate control, shower water was good and HOT, full-length windows had blinds to open and let in natural light. Perfect!
- 3/5
I was upstairs and wasn’t warned that there was no elevator! Seriously?! That should be routine. The carpet on the stairway was filthy but my room was nice, heater worked and the bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
Good value. Bed was reasonably comfortable, bathroom was very nice. Flooring was a bit strange, wood, like something you'd see in a mill or granary. TV had limited channels. Front desk staff were very nice and even allowed us to check in early. Located within walking distance of Dignity Health Arena so no need to pay for their parking. Overall, not a fancy place but I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Stay was great. Room was clean and recently renovated. Bed was very comfortable. Being pet friendly was a determining factor for us. We will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
There was plenty of parking, but only one entrance/exit gate. From the back building, you have to walk all the way back to the front of the hotel, then walk around the entire property to get to the restaurants that are located directly behind the hotel, then make the walk back afterwards. A pedestrian gate with key card access would be a great option from the back parking lot.
- 5/5

Comfortable room, good location
- 5/5
Staff was very pleasant ! I would stay there again !
- 4/5
The room was very clean and roomy. It was comfortable and modern looking.
- 4/5
first time stayed on first floor and room seemed dingy, dark.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfy bed, good shower, across from train station. Homeless in area, but not many or as extreme as some other towns.
- 1/5
Only to find out they charge extra for that
- 3/5
Both the outer bedding and sheets were stained making me feel uncomfortable. We asked for a replacement and were given a clean sheet. The furniture in the room was stained as well. The walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbors full conversation and music. It was almost as if we were in the same room as our neighbors.
- 3/5
That they didn't have breakfast
- 3/5
Everything was good except when I checked in I checked in for two adults, and I had my grandson with me, and when I said two adults to the worker, he looked over at my grandson. I then proceeded to tell him that he was not staying there. I was dropping him off also, I did not like that. I was told that I couldn’t have any visitors.
- 5/5
Clean quiet and a comfortable bed
- 5/5
The staff here are friendly and helpful. The recently remodeled room was very nice and well done. Parking is plentiful and within sight of my room. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Hotel is very quiet, very clean. The property is extremely safe. Layered Security, parking and building requires keycard access.
- 5/5
Cool spot
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
I make frequent trips to Bakersfield. Having stayed at many downtown Bakersfield hotels, this is my favorite. It's quiet and very clean. Parking is safe and convenient. Staff members are helpful and really look out for the customers.
- 5/5
I liked the property overall, and the staff were both great. The area around the property felt a little unsafe, outside of their control.
- 5/5
Spacious, clean, modern room. Friendly staff. Good value for the accommodations.
- 5/5
Great hotel within walking distance of the Dignity Health theater where we saw The Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience. Great taco place (Sancho's Tacos) real close too. Rock on.
- 5/5
every one was very nice.
- 4/5
Place was clean. Easy check in nice property updated rooms. The only thing I didn’t like was breakfast was an extra charge and they were really really strict on the no visitors when we are coming from out of town and I was just hoping my eight-year-old nephew could come visit my daughter, but they made it seem like it was strictly forbidden. It’s not like they were gonna have a Rager or anything. That’s why I can’t give them five stars or not locals that just came to trash the room. We’re coming to visit family out of town and we wouldn’t have stayed if they were gonna be so unwelcoming.
- 5/5
Handy & comfortable
- 5/5
We had a little problem at check in, but it was quickly fixed. We loved our room and the amenities. One of our favorite moments was the coffee service in the lobby. It was self-serve, but clean, fast, and no lines! The staff was very nice and helpful.
- 4/5
Jennifer was super kind and helped answer our every question. Great customer service!
- 5/5
All Great Thank you
- 3/5
Room clean but noise level high from corridor and it only had shutters at the windows which did not close properly so let in lots of light
- 5/5
My family had a pleasant stay with our pup. The room was clean and the property was nice with many trees, 2 swimming pool options (indoor and outdoor), friendly and accommodating staff, and a restaurant on the property with a great breakfast and lunch/dinner options. It hit all the marks we needed for a good and comfortable stay near Yosemite.
- 4/5
Safe and comfortable
- 5/5
Great location close to Arena
- 1/5
The ac was NOT on in common areas and temp was 93, no shower chairs available, room stunk like old and stale smoke. Ac/ heat unit and bathroom fan LOUD! Big dead bug right in middle of floor. Water was barely above Luke warm at sink and tub. Place was dirty, the bedding and towels stunk!
- 5/5
Quick check in
- 4/5
Breakfast at this location is extra
- 1/5
will never stay here.
- 5/5
The front desk was very helpful and easy to deal with. Its an older hotel but the rooms were clean and well kept.

Room smelled really bad.

Found bugs in my room wasn’t clean at all and costumer service was a absolute handful
- 4/5
I appreciate that the staff was accommodating when the AC in our room wasnt functioning properly.
- 4/5
Breakfast for $10 was fine although waiter didn’t appear to enjoy his job. Gates shut at 9pm which was easy to access and made it feel more secure
- 5/5
It was clean and comfortable. Had everything I needed and felt very safe.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly. Rooms and grounds well maintained and actually clean, not cover up with paint clean. Would stay again when passing through town.
- 4/5
Quiet enjoyable stay.
- 3/5
The room with as nice and big but had a funny smell. The hotel could use an upgrade for sure. The on site restaurant was awful. Very small portions for a high price. The service was also bad.
- 3/5
Ok
- 3/5
the room air conditioner was broke there wasnt a toilet paper holder its was placed on bathtube the roll of paper
- 3/5
Room was relatively clean, but the nonslip mat in the shower was absolutely disgusting and discolored around the edges. This should be replaced. Also, the wall a/c unit was so very loud all night long, but it was too stuffy without it and the room smelled musty. Front desk staff gets the job done but is not very friendly or welcoming. We arrived at 11 pm and all of the gates were locked and I was given no information about entering even though I let the hotel know I would be checking in late via an Expedia message which they did not respond to. I had to call after circling the area repeatedly after several hours on the road. They were accommodating of our late checkout request, but only by one hour, and they did let us leave our car in the lot for a few hours following checkout.
- 2/5
Twenty dollars, are you kidding me ?? I assure you, I am not exaggerating in any way shape or form . FYI we are members of your Best Western points program. Redpectfully, Laurence and Kristin Adams
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
For the price of the Stay, was our stay was good but with no amenities, such as continental breakfast, coffee was not fresh in the morning, Breakfast was offered at $10.00 perperson at connecting cafe which in fact was good for offering Organic choices for breakfast.
- 3/5
The only thing I didn't like was the dog urine smell upon entering the building. And someone left a dog in room barking. Staff was super nice and extremely helpful. She deserves a raise. She was so kind!

Check in super easy, friendly staff, room has everything you need and is super clean, safe parking inside gated lot good location away from bad parts of town.
- 4/5
The room was nice, and it was quiet. The beds were comfortable.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Friend said pancakes were gummy and worst she had ever had. Also, coffee very bitter. Needed lots of cream to be drinkable.
- 4/5
Came into town for a concert. Have stayed here a handful of times. I like that we can always check in early and no extea fee. Rooms are always clean and staff friendly. But this time we were put in a handicapped room. We told them we did not request that, when we checked in. Everything was low, the beds, the sink, and the shower was roll in. Just not the same as a regular room. Will stay here again but just will not accept a handicapped room. Location of the hotel is very convenient.
- 4/5
As a hotel in the heart of a good sized city, security at the hotel seems very good.
- 4/5
Everything was good to great except the matresses that were too soft and plush, not good for back sleeper.
- 2/5
Very disappointing stay, definitely not typical Best Western quality. Overall, the hotel was a bit run down, needs a refresh and a good clean. My room was somewhat dirty, floor sticky and shower did not seem clean. I was hoping to take a swim, but the pool is ice cold and gross, kinda green. They have an over priced system set up in the lobby for water and snacks, $6 for a water bottle in this dump. Definitely avoid and pay a couple bucks extra for another hotel in the area!
- 4/5
Hallway smelled like cigarettes. Other than that, everything was great
- 4/5
We stay at this hotel frequently. Not the most convenient location if you are not going to the arena or administrative offices, but we feel safe and there are several restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Staff is friendly and attentive. Our room shows a bit of age related wear and tear, but nothing major. Despite being across from the transit station and train terminal, is very quiet. The breakfast could use a little more volume, but decent if you want to stay on site. I'll keep coming back to this one!
- 5/5
The Property was great. There nothing within walking distance. But still a fairly safe area, very quite too
- 5/5
My favorite ❤️
- 5/5
This is a great place if you need a clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The neighborhood is rough. If you need a very quiet room, you can request and the front desk will make every effort to put you in a room far from street noise. Even though the neighborhood is sketchy, it has great places to eat! Just be back by 9 pm as the security gate that encloses the hotel is locked at that time.
- 4/5
It was ok
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! Very nice. Sweets was such a lovely hostess.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Neat and clean.
- 3/5
The king handicap room was spacious. Bed was fine. Overall fairly quiet. The bathroom had a very strong musty/old towel smell to it but was clean. The property itself is very pretty- a lot of nice trees and flowers! Convenient for attending an event at the convention center across the street. Parking was easy and they closed the gate to the street at night for security- could access with room key.
- 5/5
Staff members very friendly and welcoming. Easy access for DoorDash delivery. Room is spacious; carpet neds to be vacuumed. Do not like being next to the ice machine.
- 4/5
The staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We really appreciated their hospitality and had a wonderful experience. We’d definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Everything is always consistently wonderful!!! Only place we stay when we go to Bakersfield!!!
- 5/5
Good place to stay for road trips to Death Valley
- 4/5
Property was clean and kept well. Front desk person, Stella, was kind and courteous. Property seemed old, but was very nice.
- 4/5
Anyways, we were put in the second building on the second floor. After starting unpacking we found that A/C did not work. So they moved us to the first floor, and, comparing the rooms, it looked like the second floor room was refreshed more recently than the one on the first floor. The room on the first floor also had some old building odor. The bedding and appliances were OK, but the carpet looked quite worn and old. The staff was nice and helping, on a positive side. They also have some fancy looking restaurant
- 5/5
Great safe property, excellent customer service!
- 3/5
The woman that checked us in was nice in the beginning, however she was very rude when I asked about a grocery store in the area....she said yes! So I then asked where it was....she said "I'M not a mind reader". She's rude!! Also....the motel feeds stray cats (3) and they attacked my dog then me and my wife. I will never stay there again. What a shame !!
- 4/5
Mechanics Bank Arena is 1 block away. Amtrak train station is across the street.
- 5/5
It was all I expected.
- 4/5
Property was located close to town.
- 4/5
Grounds were good but the entire place is in need of an upgrade including the beds.
- 4/5
Very nice staff. Good that the area around the hotel was gated.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, close to many restaurants, quiet. Will definitely be our place to stay whenever I go see my son!

- 5/5
Hill House is always our first choice when we travel to Bakersfield,
- 5/5
The price is great, they’re allowed estoy check in at 2pm. Walking distance to downtown.
- 5/5
stayed at hotel was attending a wedding around the area
- 3/5
Property seems to have changed hands. Not as well maintained as before. Seem to be trying to cut corners.
- 5/5
Very comfortable and clean room.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. I stayed there with my mom and had a great experience. This hotel also has a fence around so your car is safe at night
- 4/5
Have stayed at this hotel for many years (more than 20) but it seemed not as popular as it was. Everything in the facility is fine, though no free breakfast buffet, might keep customers away. Couldn’t understand the low occupancy. I’ll stay there again as it’s very convenient for me.
- 3/5
This property is huge and has friendly staff. I did not like how its one way in and out. Sounds like a hazard waiting to happen when there is numerous locked gates around the property. Also be AWARE if your room has a conjoining door, you will hear your neighbors getting LOUD & BUSY if you catch my drift. The place is clean inside and out.
- 4/5
We came to town for a wedding.
- 5/5
I was in town for a wedding . I love this hotel it is conveniently located , the staff is so friendly and helpful plus early check in is never a problem
- 5/5
Friendly staff. On site breakfast option.
- 3/5
The AC would not work for me. When I touched the buttons, nothing would happen. Fortunately it was a cool night, so I opened the window and cooled the room down. I had to close the window around 1am because of noise. I mentioned it when I was checking out and they said did I look for a thermostat ? No, I did not. It was a typical AC unit that you see in many hotels where the controls are at the AC Unit. If it had a thermostat, they should put a note on the AC telling you that. I included a picture. has anyone ever seen one of these with a separate thermostat on the wall ? I haven't
- 3/5
There were also no real areas to walk dogs as most of the grass are immediately outside of someone's room, or the edge of a building. The grounds seem nice, and it's cool that it's rightbacriss from the arena. But for a hotel not to offer breakfast on top of having to provideba cresit card for incidentals when there's no incidentals to be had is disappointing.
- 4/5
The staff & their hospitality was super.
- 4/5
I like this place very much
- 4/5
Good
- 3/5
Hotel was quite smelly as you entered the hallway entrance. Room thankfully didnt smell and was clean. The patio door was unlocked when we arrived and was very hard to lock and felt very unsafe!

Nothing wrong with the property, I enjoyed my stay. The area around though is riddled with the homeless, but there are gates all around so they cant wander in.
