Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center

The only thing I did not like was that we had an adjacent door to the room next door and we had a non smoking room but the neighbors were smoking and the smell traveled through to our room it woke me up from my sleep. I couldn’t breathe.

We stay here anytime we visit our family for holidays. I will say each time we have come to stay the pool amenities are not the best. The hot tub is not in good condition, and the pool is always dirty. We have yet to enjoy the pool in 3 years. But it hasnt stoped us from staying here because we enjoy the restaurant and how close it is to downtown.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Only downside was that the refrigerator in the room kept making loud sounds throughout the night and kept waking us up. So didn’t get a good nights sleep.

It was close to the convention center where the event I was going to was being held They charged my card after showing them proof of payment through a third party. They told me there would be a $50 hold and it was drop after we check out. They ended up lying to me and putting a $385 hold and only refunded the $50. Staff also tried telling me my card declined when I tried to pay online but that was never true.

The check in the elevators the parking was all convenient very easy. There wasn't enough communication the courtesy was really cut and blunt. Conversations was very short not sure why but very short.

Parking was a nightmare. There was a concert next door and everyone was parking in the parking lot. I think people staying at the hotel should have had priority in parking lot. No parking pass needed I was told.

Overall, our stay was pleasant; however, when we requested bathrobes from the front desk, it required two follow-up calls before they were delivered. The robes eventually arrived about an hour and a half later.

The television in my room never worked, which was a huge inconvenience because I needed to watch the news that was extremely disappointing. I was too tired to request another room.

This place was really nice, there seemed to be a little dating to a style of the room. The people there were very friendly, everything worked according to the way it should. I would definitely stay here again if needed.

We stay there about 2 times a year and have seen a decline in the room quality. The beds seem to be old so it makes noise moving on the bed. The caulking in the bathroom is pealing and the counter tops cracked and open not sealed. But over all the stays are nice with the staff and what we need.

There was no breakfast included. Food is available to be ordered at the bar. It was adequate, the food is full of preservesatives. Then they never promised fresh food. It was adequate. Nothing really.

Breakfast meals were delicious. It is a nice facility. Can't really complain about anything in particular.

We stay here when we attend an event at the arena (walking distance). Very nice hotel, with options for dining inside and around the hotel. There’s also a cinema close by. It’s within walking distance of the Library and Amtrak train station.

The jacuzzi needs a bit of repair to the hand rails. Also the jets and temperature were faulty.

Hotel and room ok. Bed a bit too firm for me but that’s personal preference of course. Good food in the restaurant and staff very friendly. Asked for a quiet room but put right next to ice machine. Also the air con and the fridge were pretty loud so we had to switch them off overnight. There was a slight smell of damp and the hotel and room just felt a little dated. Also the external doors being locked at night suggested the area may not be the safest, but to be fair we didn’t experience any problems.

Very clean and safe loved having the security. I felt like the bathroom towels did not absorb the water after my shower.

The draw backs are bathroom could be more spacious & updated & with better lighting. Women need to bring their own lighted makeup mirror if you use one, highly recommended because of the lighting. If you want room freshened up each day, need to call front desk each day or your request will be forgotten. Lastly, check your bill upon check out. Another rooms coffee bar charge was accidentally charged to our room.

The property was very clean, staff was nice. The bathroom was a bit small, and the shape of the bathtub, the curve, made it a bit dangerous, someone could fall if they're not careful. That's the only thing I would change, everything else about the property is great.

Close to the hospital. King bed is very very comfortable also king pillows very important. We needed to get dinner because my daughter had emergency surgery at the hospital. We came in at 10:30 11 and they were able to bring us room service so happy we had a full meal.

Put us in a room with a frosted window. Couldn’t see out of the window. Not sure why they’d put us in a room like that when they definitely were not at capacity. It was like being on a cruise ship with no window something a claustrophobic person would never do.

i booked for the convenient location next to an event I was attending the following day. I ordered the breakfast without knowing the opportunity I was booking ahead of my stay. When I asked about how the breakfast worked when I checked in, the registrar said you'll just use the key to go to the 9th floor and the breakfast buffet and all the coffee you want is available beginning at 7a. And, she said, you can go there this evening and enjoy appetizers and a beverage until 10p. I was meeting a friend for dinner...we stayed on the 9th floor visiting in comfort and quiet for 4 hours over a glass of wine and yummy appetizers. What I bonus it was. Many thanks for the stay. I can't think of anything I didn't like.

There was a large event held there or close by, and it took more than 1/2 hour for hotel guests to be abbe to park in hotel parking. There was no parking control.

We hadn’t been here in at least 10 years… the lobby is different but honestly the rooms aren’t really. Our room needs a new toilet and sink.. they were both cracked. Our mattresses are very uncomfortable!! On the plus side the bathroom towels were nice and big!!!

We arrived at the hotel early and wanted to see if we could get an early check in as we had a wedding to attend at 3pm (granted we understand that it’s not always possible. The front desk receptionist that we first spoke with was rude and unprofessional. She told us that there was nothing she could do and to come back at 3:30pm-4pm to check to see if our room was available because she wasn’t going to call to let us know that our room was available. Again, not once looking up from her screen to acknowledge that there was nothing she could do. Therefore, we sat in the lobby with our family who were accommodated for early check in, during that time other family members arrived and they were granted early check in (4 couples). When I returned to the front desk and spoke with another young lady who greeted us with respect. I asked her why we weren’t accommodated for early check in and she explained that we had a room with a king size bed and those are limited. She was able to successfully accommodate a queen size room for us in a matter of minutes, for that we were thankful as we had been on the road for 3hrs. Despite us getting a room 45mins after our initial arrival we weren’t able to attend the church portion of our close family members wedding. I cannot emphasize how disappointed we were with the first lady that we spoke to while checking in.

If you are going to Bakersfield by train, then this hotel is for you. Right next to the train station and easy walking to old town Bakersfield, resturants and antiques shops .

We were told we would be called or texted when our room was ready. Even though we arrived early and apparently our room was ready by at least 4, I had to call the front desk at 4:30 to be told I’d have to get back in the long line to officially check in. Staff did eventually agree to meet me at the front and get me through faster. Not sure why I bothered checking in virtually the night before or giving them my number when I arrived at 2:30 if they were just going to ignore it. For the price, I expected better service. The bartended who served us while we were waiting for our room was amazing and friendly. After the concert, there was no room at the bar, so we sat at a table. We were the only 2 people at a table. Instead of telling us that we needed to order at the bar, both servers simply looked at us a few times but ignored us. I guess they don’t care about providing good service since they tend to stay busy being next to the convention center. Lesson learned.

No adequate value breakfast. Other Marriotts very good. Bakersfield Marriott needs to keep pool area swept up.

Staff not very hospitable, pool was dirty, lots of don't do this don't do that. No outside food or drinks, but hotel faire was high priced and very mediocre. Will not recommend!

This is a nice hotel with good security, but I had problems with extra charges that were already pre- paid, and missing items from my breakfast orders. The front desk did correct the charges.
