The motel was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is dated and could use some attention. There were several millers flying around the room, even though we had not been opening and closing the outside door. Okay stay for the price point.

Clean room, just outside the hustle & bustle of the shopping area. a place you can go to unwind. Park in front of your unit, and you enter at ground level. The Skaneatles Inn is located on Rt, 20, there is a green space for walking, they have a pool. It does not have all of the amenities as the big name locations, in town, the inn does not have a big overhead, they pass the savings on to you. Good, Clean, Safe

What I didn't like: no or inconsistent hot water in sink and shower; water had a 'funny' color (not clear and colorless); tub drain backed up immediately so must've been clogged with hair/other debris from previous guests

The photos on the website didn’t match the actual experience. Again — if I were paying $80–90, that’s what I would expect to get. But not for $200. True, it’s still relatively inexpensive, but it’s still $200 — and for that price you can deliver much more value. There were no available power outlets in the room — I had to move the bed just to find one. The old AC unit made an unpleasant noise. The tap water had a terrible taste; we didn’t drink it, of course, but even brushing our teeth with it was pretty shocking. One of the lamps was flickering like it was about to burn out, so I just turned it off. The toilet paper in the bathroom was whatever was left from the previous guest — a partially used roll. Not exactly pleasant. Bottom line, not the best experience...

This is my 2nd time staying here, it was about the same. Overall it was nice, convenient for my purposes but very out of the way for food and entertainment. The water pressure still sucks but I guess that's what happens in more rural and country areas. I do not like the water in general; I find that it smells bad, and it smelled bad last time too. Also, if not using the shower head but rather the faucet in the tub, the water did not look clean. The staff were nice and checked to see if we needed any housekeeping or anything like that. It was also very good for the pricing; affordable and relatively comfortable.

Pictures did not portray what the property or rooms really looked like. Our key and personal paperwork were left on the counter in the office and no one was available at check in even though it was only 5:15 pm. Guest next store smoked and was very loud. Water in the faucet was extremely pungent. Overall the facility is very outdated; the grounds, the motel room and the bathroom. No staff was available to guests. However, the room was fairly clean.

The beds were comfortable, the towels were clean, the lighting was ok. I did not like the water pressure, it was very low for both the sink and shower. Also, at some times, the water coming out of the faucet (not showerhead but bathtub faucet) was brown. And, at one point while showering the water shut off almost entirely for a couple seconds. This is more of a personal complaint but through Expedia it claims that bottled water is free but upon arrival water bottles are $1 (which isn't bad but they don't accept card and don't give change). Overall, I would probably stay here again because it was mostly quiet (apart from a noisy neighbor) and it was close to where I actually wanted to be in NY.

If everything wouldn’t have been booked up, I would’ve left. I asked to change rooms, but they were full. This was definitely a major disappointment for me and my kids. The second night, I got a big air mattress and used one of the cots with the better mattress, and let my kids sleep in the room with us so they wouldn’t be invaded by the stink bugs. STAY AWAY if you wish to stay in COMFORT with your family.

I stayed for 6 days-old timey motel with minimal renovations, but overall acceptable and way more affordable than other options. A trip down memory lane for us older folks who remember these type of motels back in the 60's and 70's. The younger crowd may not be impressed though.

Unable to use shower or water to brush teeth. Water actually shut off for a brief time. When it was working again there was a very strong sulfur presence in the water. Appears to have been ongoing for several years. Owners very nice but only credited small amount back for 2 night stay. ($50). Total for 2 nights was close to $350. My room was thick with the smell of insecticide to the point I feel it was probably unhealthy. I stayed four nights and the room was not serviced once during that time. I asked the front desk lady during checkout who told me they would have serviced the room had I asked. Maybe that's standard in the post-COVID era, but I expect my room to be serviced at least every other day without having to ask. Otherwise, the room was fine. Kind of old, but everything worked, it was clean upon my arrival. Parking is convenient.

Location was good and sheets/bedding seemed clean. However, the property and room was in need of repairs. The door had a cheap (unsafe) lock, the toilet seat was broken, air conditioner was blowing air, but we could not regulate the temperature. We left our sign (please clean room) out when we left early in the morning and when we returned after 6 it hadn't been cleaned. I called the office and was told the housekeeper "couldn't read the signs" ? She did ask what we needed and brought down two towels and some soap. Our room never got cleaned the four days we were there. The pool was locked - so unable to use or sit by (dirty chairs and water anyway) although it was 85 degrees. We did find someone to unlock it later. Used water bottles in frig and dirty carpet and bathroom floor.

This place used to be a wonderful retro roadside motel and the previous owners gave it a wonderful 50's vibe. The current owners have run it into the ground. It was dirty, smelled terrible, the small 2 person coffee maker was broken so we microwaved cold brew purchased at a store. The TV was very difficult to operate. The toilet seat was broken. The decor is best described as Flea Market chic. Very overpriced and never to be visited again. You can do way better with other local spots

Got to the hotel after 4pm, had to knock on the door at least 3 times. Older gentleman came to the door and couldn’t find our reservation. He called his wife and they ended up putting us in a room behind the hotel. The room had obviously been just sprayed down with Febreeze (floors were still wet with Febreeze) as we found out why a half hour later. The water had a VERY heavy sulfur smell just like rotten eggs. We complained to the front desk and they placed us in a different room. The new room had dead bugs on the bathroom floor, tv wouldn’t work, window was cracked and the water still smelled like sulfur, just not as bad as the other room. Terrible experience

We are easy going people who generally are satisfied enough with accommodations. This stay was horrible. We ended up leaving a day early and asking for a one day refund and they never had the curtesy to even respond. It was dirty, worn out, the water was sulfur filled so the shower, etc left you smelling badly. The only source of heat was a space heater sitting on the table. I can’t imagine that was safe or to code. The bed sagged to the middle and was bad for our backs. Avoid this place.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable The bathroom was very small. There was no complimentary breakfast. That was all ok except for the price. We had only paid 6 dollars more at a Best Western in Ithaca the night before. It was a larger room with a free breakfast

There was a thin bedspread and no blanket, and the heating system was hit or miss so it was a chilly night. Not much water pressure for the shower. The person who checked me in sprayed apple spray on the bed and in the room, without asking and then I interrupted. You can hear everything between the rooms. My room was an “adjoining room” with no easy way to prevent entry so I put a chair in front of that extra door.

with the replacement of things, I think this place could be a much better hotel then it was.

The mattress wasn’t the most comfortable, but we made do. My husband is 6’5 and a big guy, so being in a double when we usually sleep in a king was challenging. The shower was patched with duck tape, and there was a mildew, mold and sewage smell when the hot water was on. It did make the room smell after use. The bathroom could use some hooks for wet towels also. The annex is in the back of the main hotel so you parked at the end. We were unable to park once with multiple cars in our spot. People parked in front of others. They need to expand the parking area there. The hotel had a nice pool, our room looked to have been recently painted with new rugs. The had water, soda and snacks you could leave money in an envelope if you chose to utilize it. Great location to town, passing a nice ice cream/miniature golf store. If the water smell and better mattress issue could be fixed, I would definitely stay again.

Owner very flexible and accommodating when I did not know if we would make it before end of check in time. Cold water and soda available in room for very reasonable rate. Towels were a little rough, needed to be washed with fabric softener.

This motel has fallen on hard times. It’s outdated, has not been upgraded in years. We were given a room in a run down annex building The mattress was old and needed to be replaced, the shower was patched with duck tape, and there was mildew, mold and a sewerage smell when the hot water was turned on. We paid a premium price for the last room in the Skaneateles area and it was not worth it.
