I would give Stonehurst Place an 11 if I could! We love everything about this bed and breakfast! Walking through the beautiful and well appointed historical home felt like we were walking through time - right in the middle of modern day downtown Atlanta. Our room was well decorated and comfortable. The bed is plush and the bathroom is modern and luxurious. Judy is the sweetest host and her team is so charming and talented. They went above and beyond to cultivate such a wonderful experience for us, especially at breakfast. Best pancakes ever! Nothing. Our stay was perfect.

Stonehurst Place is a beautiful B&B, run by Judy and Anna with the sole purpose of providing their guests with a wonderful experience. They were us a step ahead all the time and think about every little detail to make your stay comfortable. Being on a diet, like we are, makes it even better: the team goes out of their way to cook & bake you the most delicious breakfast! The beds are the best you are ever going to find in a B&B, and so is the bathroom, the launch room, etc etc. Nothing.

My daughter wanted to visit the Georgia Aquarium for her 17th birthday, and we live about four hours away in Charlotte, so an overnight stay was a must. I decided we should make it extra special by staying at a B&B. All I can say is WOW. Stonehurst exceeded my expectations in every way! My daughter and I have traveled together before, but when we walked into our room, she turned to me and said "This is officially the best place we've ever stayed!" Where to begin? Location: it's in a great neighborhood close to the city, but you'd never know it! Once you're onsite, you feel like you're in a sanctuary; quiet, peaceful, beautifully wooded yet easy to get to and close to everything! Decor & Amenities: they've thought of everything! There are so many places in this property where you can just sit and relax, read, talk, work, have a snack, or just enjoy the scenery. Every detail is so thoughtful: dishes of sweeets, baskets of chips, a fridge with canned drinks, bottles of water, coffee and tea stations, and an ice bucket and water waiting in the room! The decor is classy, but comfortable and welcoming. We felt like we were in a magazine spread, minus the pretentiousness. And let me tell you about the shower in our room...PERFECTION!!!! Hospitality: Judy and Cynthia made us feel at home from the minute we walked in and then went above and beyond to make my daughter's birthday special! From the little treats they left her in the room, complete with a personalized welcome note, to the customized breakfast, complete with birthday balloon and cake, they made this stay memorable! I hope to return someday with my husband! Nothing!

We've started to travel to Atlanta often to see family, and we've been searching each visit for a place to stay that we really enjoy. Enter Stonehurst Place B&B!! I could gush about so many things ... the excellent communication/service/hospitality from the Innkeepers/Owners (Kris & Jason), the impeccable upkeep of the property - both inside & out, the delicious/wonderful breakfast experience, the comfort & style of the rooms themselves, the close proximity to Piedmont Park & other city sites, etc., etc., etc. But, suffice it to say that if you're heading to Atlanta and looking to stay somewhere special, you've found it at Stonehurst Place B&B. We were greeted like old friends through the back door not on to the porch. We got a quick tour of the inn so we would be familiar with every thing. It felt welcoming and inviting in every way. Our room was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully comfortable. The Inn was a quiet place. Stonehurst has a fantastic location on Piedmont. We were less than a mile away from the Fox. The breakfast was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed the couple we sat with. Meeting fellow guests can be a great part of staying at an inn. We will be back.

This was my first time staying at Stonehurst, and my girlfriend’s first time staying at a bed and breakfast. We were in town for Music Midtown, we chose the location because of its relatively cheap pricing compared to nearby hotels and its location close to the event. Needless to say we were amazed by the service and comfort, the breakfast itself is worth a visit alone! We are both extremely happy with our stay, if we’re ever in town again this is the first place we would stay.

This property is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about it. I travel a lot for business and pleasure and was a bit skeptical of staying at a B&B in an inner city as I’ve had some mediocre to poor experiences in the past but NOT this time. The property itself is really lovely and the hosts John and Grace couldn’t be more wonderful and welcoming. Grace cooks everything from scratch and accommodated the dietary restrictions of some of the other guests without question. In addition to breakfast she baked and put out an assortment of treats (brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and the most delicious pecan pie) every night, and they offered complimentary wine and nuts/bar snacks for Happy Hour. Stonehurst is truly a gem in the center of Atlanta and I plan to stay whenever I get back there.

The house is absolutely gorgeous and full of cool history. Our room was massive - we had a very comfortable well stated king sized bed with the best Egyptian cotton sheets. Plenty of windows in the room - but also plenty of shades to keep the room dark for late risers like my wife. The bathroom - we had 6 shower heads! This place made my wife very happy. It’s quiet (can’t hear a peep out of the other guests),yet surprisingly in walking distance to a great little hub bub of restaurants and shops and Piedmont Park. Great for newlyweds, couples looking for a quick staycation, or anyone from out of town wanting a charming, southern hospitality experience within the heart of Midtown Atlanta.

Incredible experience. Large estate on a beautiful landscaped property. Multiple eating areas to relax, read, work on your computer. The host & hostess went above and beyond in every way possible. They hostess & chef creates one of the most imaginative, beautiful, and delicious breakfasts you'll ever experience. Amazing property and overall experience. I plan on hosting my team for an-off site at the facilities in the upcoming months, knowing they will all be impressed and appreciate the choice vs. scheduling at a typical mainline hotel. The location is within walking distance of numerous wonderful restaurants and nightlife. A definitely bed & breakfast not to be missed when visiting Atlanta.

I stumbled across this hidden gem while booking a room for a work trip. Most of the hotels in the Atlanta area were sold out, but there was still one room available at Stonehurst Place. I quickly booked the room, as it was the closest available room to the World Congress Center, without realizing what an amazing find I had made. The house, built just before the 1900s, has been renovated and restored and strikes a perfect balance between maintaining the overall historic feel while modernizing many of the amenities. Added bonus, they are very ecologically conscious. The Innkeepers went above and beyond with their level of customer service and attention to detail. I stayed in the Hinman suite which featured a large king-sized canopy bed, fireplace, and spa bathroom (complete with heated floors, heated towel racks, air-jetted bathtub, and an enormous shower which even included a bench). The hot breakfasts each morning were amazing!! My only regret was that, due to it being a quick trip with a busy meeting schedule, I did not get to enjoy the BnB as much as I would have liked. I've already told my husband that we will have to plan a non-work trip to Atlanta, just to return to Stonehurst!

If you are interested in luxurious and comfortable surroundings, want to enjoy easy access to many places in Atlanta, while having caretakers of this B and B taking care of your needs, while affording you privacy, this is the place for you. The breakfasts were gourmet breakfasts which were expertly prepared and presented by Lori while Paul was attentive to any request you may have. Artwork was beautiful with a grand piano in the sitting room. Can't say enough good about this place!! Will definitely stay there again.

I am not normally a B&B type person but with the hotels all booked for a trade show we gave it a shot. Boy am I glad that we did. This was a positively lovely experience. After booking we received a personal welcome email from Stonehurst inviting questions or concerns. The facilities are breathtaking and the Midtown area was perfect (a short MARTA ride to GWCC). There is a gorgeous covered front porch area softly piping music (turns off at 11). There are a couple cabinets that have drinks and snacks to enjoy at any time of the day. There is also a selection of baked goods in the breakfast area that are available at any time. But the most amazing part of the stay is the gourmet breakfast they serve each morning. The food was amazing, the service exceptional and the french press coffee fantastic. The bedding was soft and luxurious and the bed was very comfortable. The bath towels were the softest I've EVER felt and rested upon a heated towel rack for optimal comfort. The staff here are very friendly and seemed to have a sixth sense to appear when needed without feeling like they were hovering. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and will absolutely be back when our travels take us to Atlanta. I can't imagine staying anywhere else after such a superb experience.

Excellent! Look forward to returning and choosing the different rooms. We had the Piedmont which was super nice and quiet. The only thing was remembering to close the front curtain as it is on the ground floor and looks out onto the awesome front porch, where other guests would gather. Not an issue I just had to get used to it! Highly recommend visiting.

We booked at the last minute. We were travelling to Pensacola, FL and tan into heavy traffic which had slowed us down. I booked through my cellphone and saw the photos of the inn and the room. Upon arrival we found everything was exactly as described and the innkeeper and his wife were extremely nice. Breakfast was fantastic.

Enjoyed the rain shower, but used the regular shower head to be practical. Hosts were concerned about my stay but didn't explain the procedure for breakfast. I thought it would be self-serve from a buffet as experienced elsewhere. At Stonehurst Place, you seat yourself at the breakfast table and they serve you breakfast. Don't be shy about breakfast!

Stonehurst Place is simply magnificent. It is beautiful, comfortable, friendly, and a thoughtfully restored stately home. From the well appointed and beautifully decorated lobby and room. Thoughtful complimentary wine and snacks bar. Incredible homemade bake goods available throughout the day. Lets not forget a delicious gourmet breakfast!! This bed and breakfast is a gem.

Stonehurst Place is a gorgeous bed and breakfast not far from downtown Atlanta and Georgia Tech. The bathroom was a dream, the bed and bedding about the most comfortable we've ever enjoyed, and the hospitality superb. We were treated to delicious snacks at night and a gourmet breakfast in the morning. Our hosts (Lori and Paul) were charming and their recommendation for a restaurant was spot on. We were especially impressed with the renovation of the inn. A stone and wood exterior opened to a delightfully redone interior. We highly recommend this inn for a luxurious and relaxing stay in a charming neighborhood with wonderful hosts.

The minute I rang the door bell at 293 Piedmont NE in Atlanta I knew we were in for a treat. Upon meeting Paul I was reassured our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast was going to be different than checking into a hotel/motel had ever been. A warm friendly greeting, making us feel like we were being welcomed home was only the start of the best 2 days every spent on the road. The tour of the house with all it's history, not to mention the music room with it's snack and drink cabinet, to the upstairs sleeping room with it's coffee and tea cabinet, to the breakfast room with its cabinet of pastries available all day, to the screened in porch was only leading us to our bedroom. The bedroom was 1 of 3 downstairs all with their own bathroom. It was very comfortably furnished with all the necessities. Now for the breakfast, Lori, Paul's wife, is an excellent chef. The 2 breakfasts we had were each 2 courses and outstanding. They both are 2 of the nicest people you would ever want to meet and they made our stay top notch.

The most fantastic start to our trip around the Deep South. Paul and Lorri were the perfect hosts - made to feel so welcome and very knowledgeable of the area. Everything about Stonehurst couldn't be bettered. Breakfast amazing and so well done. They ask you what time you'd like to eat so they can bring out freshly prepared - delicious. Lovely relaxed way of introducing guests to one. All in all, thoroughly professional bed and breakfast.

Paul and Lorrie were truly remarkable and warm innkeepers -- they were such a pleasure to interact with every morning and really set the tone for Stonehurst Place. We were lucky enough to stay in the Hinman Suite which had a luxurious king-size bed with amazing sheets that felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom was elegantly furnished with a two-person tub, separate toilet area, and a shower that made me want to stay in it for an hour! The breakfast was top-notch and delicious, and I miss the french-pressed delicious coffee so much. Complimentary alty snacks, sweets, coffee/tea, soft drinks, and wine were always available. After this stay, I'm not sure I want to ever stay in a big-box hotel again! I can't wait to go back to Stonehurst again!

This is a beautifully restored and maintained old family home in a good location for downtown and midtown Atlanta's various attractions. Styling itself as a 'bed and breakfast' underrates the quality of its rooms and facilities. We were greeted by our friendly 'innkeepers' who could not have been more helpful and unintrusively attentive. The house itself is a fascinating example of architectural conservation and the rooms are both beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It is very satisfying to enjoy a room which feels very much part of a fine home but includes a comforting open fire, an excellent bathroom and discreet technology, like bedside chargers for iPhones and other gizmos. Interesting artworks are placed throughout the building and a good selection of books and DVDs is available for guests. A traditional American breakfast (too much to finish!) is served in the dining room.

This was the favourite place I stayed in five weeks of travelling. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome and looked after. Our first night we can home to lovely fire in our room. The morning breakfast is delicious, and I so are the home baked goods available to you at your pleasure (delicious brownies!). The location is great, a short walk to Piedmont Park and some great restaurants. It's great to stay in an older house so close to the city.

We stayed one night at Stonehurst Place, a very elegant and comfortable B&B in midtown Atlanta. The house was beautiful and Paul, our host, was very friendly and accommodating. We had a gas fireplace in our room, which was a welcoming counterpoint to the chilly weather. Breakfast was very good and the conversation with the other guests was even better. We will definitely return on other trips.
