Kimpton Overland Hotel - Atlanta Airport by IHG

This is an excellent hotel choice if you’re staying the midtown area. It’s easy accessible to get around. Hotel shuttle was a plus. Staff was amazing. The Apron is the restaurant in the hotel food and drinks were exceptional. I’d rate my entire experience 9/10 and will be staying again when I return.

BUT the staff were absolutely wonderful! The rooftop bar was a massive highlight—it has amazing views of the Hartsfield-Jackson landing strip, great food and drinks, and a DJ playing. Breakfast at The Apron was also delicious. Overall, a fun vibe and great service, but the building itself really needs some upkeep.

This property was conveniently located to Lakewood Amphitheatre and allowed pets to stay at no charge which I think is awesome! The pool area was under construction during my stay so I was unable to utilize it. Beware if you’re using a third party booking service because you will not get the same perks offered on the hotel website. I was under the impression that my AAA membership perks of free parking would be honored during my stay since it is advertised on their website without any stipulation but that was not the case. There were some cosmetic issues with the room I stayed in that I made the staff aware of so I would not be charged for the damages. There were not any rooms available for me to switch to so I stayed in my original room. The staff I encountered, Key, Antoine, and another young lady whose name is escaping me were nice.

Bathroom and shower were not separate from bed and living area. No privacy at all. I called 3 hours prior to arrival and requested a feather free room. When we arrived in our room, all the bedding was NOT feather free. We have severe allergies and when we asked the front desk to correct it, they said they would and would fix it immediately. It took hours with us having to call the front desk. Finally around 11pm they knocked on the door with only 1 feather free pillow. In addition, the room safe and refrigerator did not work. It was too late to request a room change. Nothing was even offered to us to correct the issues. The only positive thing about our stay was the food in the main restaurant and the bartender.

Awesome stay! Did not disappoint!

I honestly appreciated the high level of customer service the staff delivered. From check in to check out was smooth.

When we missed our connecting flight my wife and I booked a single night at this hotel at midnight. So did everyone else. We stood in line at their front desk for over an hour. The lobby was full of tired travelers, crying babies and 2 overworked hotel staff members. The morning coffee in the room was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was overpriced so we didn't have any. $200 for an 8 hour stay seemed a bit pricey.

Check-in was seamless. The room was clean, comfortable, and ready as expected. The staff was very friendly and professional. I loved the vibe throughout the facility.

Wonderful location, awesome amenities, always a pleasure being at this establishment. Cleanliness is second to none. The beds are very comfortable. The front desk clerk; Antwoine is unbelievably c. The second you walk into the lobby area of the Kimpton Hotel, you see Mr. Antwoine, the front desk respectionist/clerk and that's where the professionalism at this hotel starts. This guy is the face of the Kimpton Hotel, when you walk in he greets you with top tier professionalism and gives you his undivided attention. What gets me is with all the people Mr. Edward's encounter on a daily basis, Mr. Edwards remembers your name. I will patronize this hotel as long as it remains on a top tier level and I believe that will be a long time. Thank you Kimpton Hotel and Mr. Antwione Edwards for the professionalism and great stays. As a business owner in our great state, I often need an outlet to ward of business stress. Yes! The Kimpton Hotel is the place for mature adults, to wind down an enjoy what life has to offer.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. They picked us up from the airport and took us to the airport in the early morning. The bedding was very comfortable and luxurious. Amenities were nice. There was a restaurant where we ordered a nice dinner. It was close to the airport. I called from the airport to confirm pickup by the shuttle. We had a great experience.

Stopped here as a halfway point for travel- love Kimptons for their pet policy- very pleasantly surprised with the rooftop bar overlooking the airport and the Porsche experience - my husband could watch planes and race cars😊- also rooms amazingly quiet! We may make it a future destination with my husband trying the “Porsche experience”

I enjoyed my stay at the Kimpton! The property was well kept, clean, and the amenities were an added bonus. I love the layout and how well everything functioned in unison. The rooms were clean and properly stocked. The bed was comfortable, the shower was love at first sight, and the esthetics gave the room a nice warm feeling. The staff were friendly and helpfull. Ayanna at the fron desk made my day. She was always one step ahead of me and she was very accommodating. Thank you guys for making my stay a great one to remember! See you soon!

I loved being able to see the planes takeoff and land from me window. I also saw the Porsche racing on the track. Happy hour and two free glasses of wine, yes! I really enjoyed my stay.

I loved my room With the track view and I loved the ambiance of the roof. I really enjoyed the gym and wine happy hour. My room was amazing and spacious. Overall I have no negatives. Everything was a win from the staff to the amenities. I would absolutely stay again.

Location was good, the property was in good condition Annoying glitches with the booking. They didn't have a room ready when we arrived at 8.30 pm. The next morning they asked us to pay for breakfast and I had to point out that breakfast was included in the rate we had paid. In both occasions the staff eventually sorted thjngs out but we could have done without the hassles.

My first time staying at this property. A++ The only thing they didn’t have was a laundry room.

Really great stay, extremely quiet rooms considering the track and airport being so close, being walking distance from the track was perfect.

Ice machine on Floor 7 broke. Room refrigerator light stayed on. Had to have maintenance come and repair.

The friendliest hotel I have ever been to. Super clean and well lit at night. The only downside was I was charged $30.00 for parking, I didnt even know hotels still did that. My fault, I should have read it better. But other than..I can't say enough good stuff about this hotel. Oh and even tho it was right beside the airport, we never heard a plane.

We missed our flight and last second chose Kimpton on a whim. It’s a great hotel! Super chic, safe, quiet, and for the price you can’t beat it. There is also a free shuttle to the airport and the drivers are so nice and helpful. 10/10 stars and we found our new favorite place to stay if there’s ever an airport mishap again.

It took us an hour to check in. Not really her fault. I was only one person at the desk and 30 people trying to check in. This really cut into our four hour stay.

Restaurant totally understaffed! Food was pricey but good. One waitress working the crowded restaurant was a big problem. Views from room and 8th floor terrace were great although the terrace bar was not open the first week of March. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel with kids but nice place to stay near the airport for adults despite the shortcomings of the restaurant.

Convenient airport shuttle. Room was clean but the thermostat didn’t keep the room cool. However it met our needs for the evening. The staff was very professional under stressful circumstances (30 cranky people in the lobby based on flight cancellations).

Tried to book a nice staycation, wasn’t the experience i hoped for, has a lot of potential but the bar was closed, rooftop bar was closed which was the initial reason i booked

Hotel is nice . However the rooftop bar is not open seasonally so not as much fun . The restaurant is good but when crowded is VERY slow ! Took us 1 1/2 hr just for burgers . Also our car was broken into along with a bunch of others . But guess that can happen anywhere in Atlanta I guess . We’ve normally had good stays but just not this last one . We’ve always usually stayed there in spring and summer

The hotel had a fabulous decor and the staff was wonderful. As far as cleanliness, one of the pillowcases was stained with black tar like marks and the bathroom floor was sticky in some places.

The front desk staff was so professional, friendly and just amazing! My great nephew loves the rooftop to watch the airplanes. This is our favorite hotel for staycations. We stay quarterly just to get away. The heated pool is so relaxing.

We liked the Nespresso coffee maker, but the staff never refilled the coffee or water bottles while we were there. Charges! Lots of small charges to my card with no itemized receipt to show what they are for. Now, I have to figure that out on my own since calling their customer service number requires an itinerary number that I didn't receive with my stay to talk to them.

The front desk staff was very welcoming and the room was very clean and comfortable. The shuttle to the airport ran promptly and the drivers are friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Super location and great accommodation

The room was really nice. I received horrible service from the Jamaican front desk associate. He was rude and unprofessional. If I didn’t already pay for my stay I would have booked another hotel.

The customer service was outstanding. The young man at the front desk was so polite, courteous and professional. Honestly, the rest of the stay could have been sub par and I would have still been happy because of this young man, but the stay was great overall. Rooms were clean, the nespresso was a nice room touch and the kids had a great time in the pool. Pool isn’t big, but it’s a pool indoor so it’s open year round. 10/10

However, the shuttle bus that took me to the airport, the driver was super good.

It’s a wonderful hotel and I had to book at the last minute because I miss my flight if I booked it through Expedia versus their website. I had to wait a while for the shuttle in the morning, but it was fine. They got me there. They were very nice. My biggest complaint is somehow they didn’t save my credit card and I’ve gotten five phone calls today regarding giving them a credit card I’ve asked for an email and I’ve yet to get it so hopefully they’ll get it to me and I will pay my bill for my food I got but it probably is one of the better hotels close to the airport

The worse experience ever, glad it was only for a night. Room wasn’t ready until 7pm! They tried to charge extra, and then the rooms are horrendous. Old and run down.

Room is clean and looked pretty. TV didn't work. Shower head would not change to massage feature sheets. Felt like I was sleeping on sandpaper overpriced hotel. Had to pay to park my car. There was no free parking available anywhere. Glad my car got a good night's rest

The staff were amazing, helpful and kind. The room set up was awkward for my adult son and myself, his mom. The shower is not enclosed making privacy non existent. They should expose this design in their pictures so we could have chosen a more appropriate hotel for our trip.

The room was immaculate and we totally enjoyed the wine happy hour from 5-6. We enjoyed the ambience of the living room area while sipping and mingling. I don't know the name of the other gentleman working alongside Antwan but every time my husband and I passed the desks, he was attentive and took time to ask if all was well and if we needed anything. I felt like a special guest. Overall, I have been quite impressed with the Kimpton line of hotels. Although this particular one is smaller and not as fancy, it is well kept, quaint, and welcoming. The rooftop was closed due to the weather, but the downstairs bar and restaurant were open. It too was well maintained. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the following morning although several of the requested menu items were unavailable. Nevertheless, Chef Burrell was kind enough to visit our table with apologies and sought to ensure we were accommodated. If you are ever in the area and need a hotel, I highly recommend this particular property. It's next to the Porsche facility and having a view next to the track is beautiful. Cons: my ac wasn’t working and the tv remote didn’t work. Ac finally kicked on but the room never actually cooled down and the front desk was super nice but didn’t ever bring up the replacement remote they said they would bring up. In all, it was nice but I’m not sure id opt to stay here again. For the same money I may look elsewhere.

The TV in the living room doesn’t have any volume and maintenance has gone home. At 11:55 pm the dog starts barking next door in room 432and won’t stop. I have pictures and videos. Then Angela at the front desk that didn’t give me her name, I had to ask for it after she placed me on hold for several minutes, told me I would nave to call management on Monday versus them calling me.

The staff was very friendly and greeted us with holiday cheer. The room was amazing, elevators were quick, and the view of the airport was stunning.

4 star hotel with a 2-3 star feel. The first suite I got the lamp didn’t work and the remote was missing, the couch had stains. They let me move to another room and the same issue with the couch. I was also charged for $30 for something I was never informed about or received an invoice for.

I chose this hotel because of the airport shuttle; however, I ended up taking an Uber from the airport because the incompetent staff couldn’t explain where the pickup location was. It was midnight, I was tired and they kept saying, “ask someone at the airport.” It’s midnight! The airport isn’t fully staffed. It was frustrating and very unnecessary. I travel often and most airport hotels have clear instructions on where their shuttle picks up guests. Needless to say, I won’t be staying there again.

This was very nice for a staycation for my husband's birthday. Convenient to the Porsche Center. The room overlooking the track was great. Complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres was a nice touch.

Despite good lighting and a security gate, 5 cars were broken into right outside of the hotel. They tried to break our window with no success, but there is damage to the door and window. Hotel supposedly had a night watchman.

Such a welcoming and courteous staff. My room was so cozy and the shower was amazing. The rooftop area gives you an amazing opportunity to watch the planes light up the sky and even land.

The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. The coffee was quite nice. (Nespresso). The front desk staff was polite, and the shuttle driver was especially friendly. I love the bathroom setup with a separate toilet with a door.

Staff was great but I had to call to find out where to meet airport shuttle to hotel and waited a long time on hold. I suggest sending with the reservation notice specifics about how to find the airport shuttle. Once we figured that out the shuttle was terrific. Very helpful with luggage.

I was overcharged an extra $240. Please review your bill statement carefully before you leave. I contacted them for an adjustment and am currently waiting to hear back. I had two nights booked separately, and the cleaners did not show up on the second day . The service at the restaurant is horrible or probably the waiter I had cause I had a good experience in the past .

I did not use the airport shuttle, The staff was very good. The parking system was on the fritz, and outside the porsche experience nothing was really walking close. the onsite restaurant food was good, service was good, the bartender was really talented. the prices were hotel restaurant elevated which is why we skipped breakfast there. bathroom had an interesting layout but was clean and funtional. would stay again.

I booked the hotel in advance and specifically requested a quiet room with a nice view. The view was of a concrete wall, there was also a conference in one of the rooms on our hall and the doors were banging very loudly all evening. When I called reception when we first checked in to move to a different room the woman on reception said “No mama, we are fully booked” and then hung up the phone call without an apology or giving me chance to respond. The pool smelt bad and looked dirty. Service at breakfast was also rude and unfriendly, we also notified them in advance of allergies for the breakfast, and options were still limited to porridge or a fruit bowl. The reception staff didn’t say good morning or hello when you passed even if we did. Very disappointed in our stay here.

The room looked nice but the deconstructed bathroom lacked privacy for couples or families. The building was built very cheaply and thin walls so I heard my neighbor's sneeze's and anyone talking in the hall woke me up. My bathroom door wouldn't shut and was decoupled from the wall. Overall the staff was very nice and friendly, but the flimsy building was a nuisance to the experience.

my room didn't have the usual kimpton hallmarks: robe and minibar, and the coffee counter in the am wasn't stocked (understaffed kitchen crew were busy!). The bathroom sink space was cramped but the staff were really lovely! They were so friendly and on it -- from the front desk to the restaurant to room service!

Went to Atlanta to attend an event at the Porsche Experience. Found to hotel to be convenient and very comfortable.

This place is amazing and they are so clean and nice.

Well for starters, the room is very small, the pillows in my room had a must smell to them and were never replaced. There rooftop lounge had a party that you could hear in my room and I was two floors below. Housekeeping took forever. The toilet paper holder was broken in my room. The TV would not change channels. It was just an unsatisfactory situation.especially since I could not get any sleep Saturday evening due to the rooftop party loud music.

My room was not ready when I arrived I had to sit in lobby for 3 hours after a flight that was horrible I didn’t get situated into a room until almost 10 that was a day I paid for a room for basically nothing

Our room was bumping and so loud that we couldn't fall asleep and we were up half the night. When we called the front desk they had no rooms available to switch us too and no options other than canceling our reservation and letting us find somewhere else to go on Saturday night at 10pm on Labor Day weekend.

I booked a suite, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The highlight was the view overlooking the track, which was such a fun and unexpected surprise for my husband. The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable – exactly what you’d expect from a Kimpton property. The restaurant on-site was another nice feature, with a relaxing atmosphere and good food, which made it convenient after traveling. A couple of small cons: the bathroom was a bit on the smaller side, though it was still functional and very clean. Also, there isn’t a vending machine or small market area for snacks and drinks, which would have been helpful. On the positive side, we felt very safe the entire time, and the hotel itself had a stylish, modern vibe that we really enjoyed. Overall, this was a wonderful stay with only minor downsides. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and unique hotel experience near the airport.

I reserved a premium two double bed room that stated it would have a separate seating space. The room I was assigned had no couch or chair for a separate area. Hotel staff seemed not to care of fulfilling what was promised. I was eventually moved to a smaller room with a chair.

Ive been to this property several times and have enjoyed it everytime. So much til i organized a surprise birthday and had over 20ppl traveling from Raleigh NC, Knoxville Tennessee and Mississippi to book rooms and joy us in celebrating our family member. I wouldnt refer them to anyother place bc i throughly love The Kimpton Overland in Atlanta Georgia. Looking forward to coming back soon.

I love their pet stay policy and their rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is welcoming and area has plenty of dining options close by. I will look for other hotels in the IHG family during our next trip: thank you for treating our pet like family and a valued guest :)

We will absolutely stay at this hotel again! First and foremost, it met our needs as a pet-friendly hotel. No charge for pets with no weight/size or breed limit is truly impressive. The staff member who checked me in was genuinely enthusiastic about meeting my dog. Every staff member we interacted with over 2 days were overly friendly and helpful. It’s next to the Porsche test track which was actually pretty cool to see. The rooftop lounge was comfortable and it amazing to be surrounded by all the planes landing at the airport. We were not disturbed by the airport noise at all- it was very quiet and they had great blackout curtains. The only way to improve this property would be to have a fenced area for animals, which it doesn’t have. Not a problem for us but that would take it to the next level.

Terrible experience. I have to take an Uber away from the property and back that costed me over $120 total due to them having a power outage and I could not charge my phone, with the high almost deadly heat temperatures outside no air conditioner this went on for at least 4 to 5 hours. In the midst of all this happening, I got a text message about how your day was going and I responded one to their questions of one through five and explained it and they didn’t seem to care or give any other option or try to make things right. And I also told them that the room was very dusty, I don’t know if that’s because maybe with the blinds and things being open you can see a lot more, but it was super dusty and you could see it floating, in the coffee areas in both side tables.

Expected more from Kimpton. The rooftop has so much potential but it was a hodge podge of furniture and self service. TV in my room did not work. Coffee in lobby was empty for almost an hour between 7:45-8:45am. Cook in restaurant was rude when we asked for more chips with our appetizer. Check in staff were super nice

Everything was amazing.

On the positive side, the mattresses were comfortable, the whole place was clean, the staff was polite and there is on site parking. It was also in a central location for all the things we had planned. A bonus was the view of the cars on the track from our window.

Charged $30 to park in a nearly empty parking lot.

The staff was friendly and attentive.All amenities explained and prompt check in.

Reservation was made several weeks in advance but no clean rooms available and long lines to check in upon arrival. Tried to check in both at 5 PM and 10:30 PM and had to wait 90 minutes to access a room, at midnight. No apology or credit offered

Very average indeed

The ONLY good thing I can say is that the manager and staff were extremely accommodating. Gave me a blanket to sleep on the lobby sofa with. CALL before you book as they may not have availability.

I’m not quite sure you can call this a stay. But for the future i would STAY far away from this place. I booked this hotel at 11 pm after a cancelled flight, hoping for a place to spend the next five hours while I was stranded until my rescheduled flights next morning (early AM) flight. I showed up 15 minutes after I booked the reservation, and was told that there were no rooms available, something to do with housekeeping, and then I should wait a few minutes until they had more direction. After about 40 minutes, I was handed a letter, that I was being transferred over to a sister property the four points by Sheraton airport ( not quite a Kimpton), which was 20 minutes away; eating into the very precious minutes that I had to rest before I have to wake up at 4 am. While I was standing there, the housekeeper came down and mentioned that two rooms were available, but I was told that I could not have those rooms, because they were saving them for airline people. I guess all reservations are not created equal. The worst part of the offense, was how rude the front desk staff was, and just generally unempathetic attitud. You think they would’ve been more apologetic about the situation, but were acting as if my irritation/very very mild annoyance (considering the situation, was unwarranted. I travel to Atlanta for work all the time, I will never step foot in this property again, not to mention that the lobby lounge looks like you’re in the lobby of a commercial office building.

The assistant manager at the front desk was excellent. The staff was very accommodating and kind. An overall pleasant experience.

The property is gorgeous. The atmosphere was lively. The service was good. The rooms were modern and unique. Best of all... the pool was warm. I sat outside for breakfast and watched the planes take off from the airport and the families/friends come out to race Porche cars next door. At night, I tried some new alcohol brands while enjoying the roof top bar and DJ. You've got to try it when you come to town.

The view from my room of the Porsche track & the convenience of being close to the airport was great.

The only thing that would be perfect is adding shower doors. You end up with wet bathroom floors but this is not a dealbreaker. We will definitely come back again soon!

The rooms were spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I especially loved that pets stay free—such a great perk for those of us traveling with our furry family members! The location is perfect, right next to the Porsche Experience Center and close enough to watch planes land, which was such a cool bonus. Despite being near the airport, the rooms are quiet—you can barely hear the planes. The rooftop bar is a must: great vibes, music, dancing, drinks, and an amazing view of the runways. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend!

What is it not to love about this place. The hotel staff is just as wonderful as the structure of this hotel. Thank you Kimpton staff for being great.

This property is 5 star all the way. I will be patronizing this hotel for a while. Very happy with everything about this Kimpton Hotel. This Hotel aim very high to please and I am pleased. Everything is very clean and upscale. The only issue I have is the high price should include parking. Parking is $37.00 dollars daily. Thats way to high and there is no where else to park close to the hotel for free.

The service, room, and lounge were excellent. While arriving to the hotel late at night, it was difficult to identify which door to enter from the parking lot. I recommend attention to that entrance and the area surrounding it.

We arrived at 1am tired after driving 8 hours and we had to wait in the lobby for an hour to be checked in. The front staff was rude and it made the experience worse

The only issues were minor. Not enough towels, one of the sink lights was out and the refrigerator didn't work which was replaced while we were there.
