- 2/5
Staff were nice seemed disorganized. Our room was not ready and the furniture was all over the room. Very disorganized. Looked like they had been painting. The second room was dusty and the carpet was very dirty. The third room was tolerable, but there was constant noise from upstairs and outside from the bar. I would not recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
Small dark shower but clean small room. It is not call Scottish Inn any longer and area is near the freeway for convenient stop off.
- 2.5/5
Wild Goose Cafe... right outside my door... loud .. Panhandle came knocking on my door
- 3.5/5
Clean and easy on/off from the freeway. Very thin walls. You could hear everything from the neighbors and out in the parking lot.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 4/5
The hotel was a convenient location right off the freeway. There’s also a nice restaurant next-door so it was nice to be able to just park, check-in and get some food after a long day of travel. The manager upgraded me to a king size bed at no additional cost. The room was clean. Not a lot of amenities but a great price for what you got.

The desk clerk was friendly, courteous and took care of the checking in quickly and efficiently. Although the motel is quite old, the room and the shower were both very clean, as was all the bedding and towels. The facilities were fairly basic but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Definitely well worth the cost.(The diner in the parking area was awesome!)
- 1.5/5
The TV was good and the hot shower was great They were very nosey asking personal questions and butting in to my business I thought they were rude and when I got there the counter in the bathroom was disgusting had some kind of yellow stuff all over the sink and counter it was truly nasty
- 4.5/5
Not a lot of counter space in the bathroom but enough room surfaces to make up for it. Only one table in the breakfast area but OK to take food back to room.
- 5/5
Perfectly clean, quiet and run by really nice people

The property was fine, I only stayed one night, in a corner room. My request. The property appeared to be clean, and well maintained.

Easy parking. Convenient to downtown and shopping
- 5/5
Fourth time I've stayed here, and always a pleasant experience.
- 2/5
Definitely a bit pricey for what you get. Clean enough but noisy and the door didn’t seal all the way. They don’t allow for late check-out unless you pay a fee. I’d recommend elsewhere.
- 2/5
The room was supposed to be two queen beds but they seemed to measure out to a full size. The beds bowed at the end and were very hard.
- 5/5
Price is right
- 3/5
This was a great average little hotel with a convenient location and an easy no frills place to stay.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. Internet connection wasn’t very good. Actually it was pretty bad. Breakfast was minimal; continental breakfast, coffee only had powdered creamers. The price is good for Ashland. If you’re looking for an inexpensive stay in Ashland, the upsides outweigh the downsides and I would be glad to stay here again.
- 4/5
Glad I brought my own sheets cuz the ones there had stains on them. Floor was SUPER FILTHY, I doubt they ever mop/scrub, so wear your socks or shoes, but don’t go barefoot unless you want dirty feet.
- 3/5
And it wasn’t just in our room, we could hear it from both neighboring rooms!
- 3/5
I booked for two nights. Out thru the first day, returned, the room had not been made up. I complained at the office. Was told they were'nt supposed tomgo into anyone's room.. The most absurd excuse I could imagine. The apparently have a policy of not making up the room if guest is staying more than one night. I never heard of such a thing. They never told me at checkin that they had such a policy, nothing the walls about it, nothing in the paper work from hotels.com. How would a guest know that the room would not be made up each day? It is to their credit that they cleaned it up after I complained, but I shouldn' have needed to go through tha trauma of it.
- 2/5
The property was OK. The room floor turned my wife's feet black, Bed was terrible and the A/C is way outdated.
- 4/5
Quiet.bed was comfortable. Staff very nice and polite. Our floor was dirty. That was our only complaint.
- 4/5
very clean, quiet, pleasant!!
- 4/5
There was no restocking of coffee, cups, toilet paper , nor was there any cleaning during my 3 day stay. My bedside table had a sticky area. However, the room was quite adequate and clean.
- 4/5
Better than I expected for the price, so good value overall. We had a bad experience with a very loud, obnoxious group of people while we were trying to sleep late at night. That is no fault of the motel business, but perhaps indicative of the kind of people who may be staying at the motel. I think the motel managers could have done something more to discourage this behavior, but obviously not their fault.
- 5/5
Very clean, lots of working lights, lots of working outlets for charging my devices. My only frustration was that there was no viewers guide on the TV remote, that would allow me to efficiently select a program from a menu. Their system is channel by channel only.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in a pinch we got stuck during a snow storm without snow chains and we were able to get a very clean room asap
- 4/5
Close to good restaurants
- 5/5
My room was absolutely immaculate and quiet. The shower was powerful and hot, the toilet worked perfectly. The Wi-Fi worked great. I always enjoy staying at the Scottish Inn. It's affordable and the people are nice, and there is a yummy restaurant (The Wild Goose) right next door.
- 4/5
Room was comfortable and clean. My only issue was that the Internet didn't really work, which was tricky because I was trying to do get some things done that required it.
- 5/5
The front desk attendant also adjusted our online reservation that had us on the 2nd floor. My travel partner is in a wheelchair and not really into stairs very much. A nice assortment of pre-wrapped sweetened gluten products and the other usual continental suspects.
- 3/5
I was quite scared staying here. The parking lot felt sketchy and I people were constantly looking into my room. The staff were very friendly, and the room was clean. But I was uncomfortable staying here in terms of safety.
- 5/5
It was a pleasant place to stay but the wi-fi was dismal unless you go to the office.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly. The hotel was in close driving distance to the Shakespeare Festival and dining options without being right in the middle of everything, which was nice.
- 5/5
New furniture was great and clean. Comfortable for one night at Scottish Inn. They have a strict no dog policy though, so next time we travel with the family, we would have to find a new place to stay.
- 5/5
The manager was so accommodating to our requests. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable and had enough pillows. The room was cleaned daily. Will definitely stay at this hotel again
- 4/5
A fairly old motel but well maintained. owner/manager very nice.
- 4/5
Water in the shower was not hot enough. Turned up to the fullest was just very warm.
- 5/5
Perfect place to spend a night or two. Wild Goose Cafe & Bar next door, literally across the parking lot, sells the whole thing. You can be in downtown Ashland/OSF in 4 minutes. Clean, new tile in bathrooms, plenty of hot water and decent TV choices, if you care about that. 5 stars
- 5/5
It was nice
- 4/5
Coffee which is available in the room was terrible, continental breakfast was average. When we arrived, after checking in, there was a guy sitting on the stairs smoking a cigarette, probably about two more people started to join him. All the rooms are no smoking rooms but still have the smell of cigarette smoke because of the constant smoking downstairs.
- 5/5
Very convenient to I-5,but a little drive to town.
- 4/5
I booked this room last minute for my husband who needed to pick our daughter up very early in Ashland the next morning. Didn’t want to spend a lot of money since it was just a quick one night turn around. He said the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. He said the bed was particularly comfortable. More so than most hotels. He had forgotten to bring his favorite pillow from home but said the bed pillows provided were also very comfortable. There is a Tesla supercharger only a couple minutes away which was also convenient. There is a delicious restaurant right next to the Tesla supercharger as well. For the value, we would definitely recommend this for anyone just needing a place to stay. Not so much for a romantic getaway in Ashland. The view from the room was not so good as it’s not in a picturesque location, but again it was just for the night. Parking right near the entrance of the rooms was also convenient and he said the area felt safe.
- 5/5
My stay at the Scottish Inn was a happy one. The room was spacious and extremely clean. The floor was heated in front of the shower stall! The bed was as comfy as a cloud. My shower was the perfect temperature and more than enough towels were available. I used to be a flight attendant and I've stayed in hundreds of hotels. This is a good one. With an outstanding price!
- 5/5
Very nice
- 4/5
Fine for one night.
- 4/5
Was great
- 3/5
It was easy to get on and off the freeway. Good choice for that. The person who checked me in was so nice!
- 5/5
Our family was able to book rooms near each other. The breakfast options helped us save time and money as we continued our trip north. We enjoyed the choices offered in the office area. I also observed there were trays available to take food to our rooms. Thank you for the hospitality.
- 5/5
The owners were most friendly. They even drove us to downtown Ashland for our afternoon & evening events then picked us up at OSF when our play was finished after 11 pm.
- 5/5
Very nicely refurbished 50s (looking) motel. Comfortable, aesthetically pleasing and safe.
- 1/5
Very nice. Not fancy but newly renovated and spotlessly clean.

Driving from San Francisco to Seattle and needed a place to stay overnight in Ashland without spending too much money. The Scottish Inn was absolutely perfect! Friendly staff, very clean and comfortable rooms. Everything worked out perfectly!

- 5/5
Ok
- 5/5
If you just need a clean safe place to spend the night, this is the place for you. The people are nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Nice and clean. Location is nice and great food next door. Owner is very nice and looks after his clients.
- 4/5
Each room needs an entry rug for wiping your feet. It was raining and we had no choice but to track in water and dirt.
- 4/5
Short stay friendly
- 5/5
Extremely convenient location
- 5/5
I was able to easily walk all of downtown Solvang from there and window shop, have a coffee and a pastry, and just have a pleasant day. The nightly rate was very good as well. I was able to conduct my business and enjoy myself at the same time. It can be difficult to write a review of this property without overusing superlatives so I will just say I recommend this motel without reservation.
- 4/5
Clean, close to the dinner, close to the road. Heard every truck. Toliet paper was lame. Overall good place to stay
- 5/5
Remodeled. Wood floor, no stinking, sticky carpet. Nice bathroom
- 5/5
It was very comfortable and clean.
- 5/5
Very clean friendly staff. The facility is older but is well maintained. It was perfect for my needs a quiet place to stay overnight while on a long road trip.
- 4/5
On the outside it's just a roadside motel, not very attractive. But the room inside was clean, all remodeled bathroom and comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Stay was comfortable. Excellent stay for a reasonable price.
- 5/5
would definitely recommend and will book again
- 4/5
Very clean and well-kept up, but not in a very nice area of town
- 5/5
Great location for our trip. Hotel was quiet and check in was easy.
- 5/5
Our king size bed was super comfortable. It was very clean with an updated bathroom and shower. There is a really good restaurant with quality food just across the parking lot where we had dinner and breakfast.
- 4/5
Friendly, helpful, my room was clean and comfy good AC, bathroom was clean, blackout curtains and standard amenities were good. Theres a good cafe, grocery store and a pharmacy conveniently nearby.
- 5/5
Vary clean, very friendly staff.
- 4/5
All was good.
- 5/5
Family-owned inn run by very friendly and caring people.
- 5/5
This is my fifth stay here. It’s my go to.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Easy access to the highway, friendly staff, nice rooms with adjacent parking, nice diner right next door.
- 5/5
Glad to stay there
- 5/5
Clean, quite and affordable. Comfy beds. No frills. Good restaurant and bar across the parking lot. Stayed here down and back from Oregon to California. Right off the freeway. Very convenient location.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable stay right off the freeway. Walk across the parking lot to a cafe.
- 4/5
We weren't sure what to expect from an older property. We were pleasantly surprised with the updated rooms, quiet while being close to full, and ease of access from downtown, campus, or freeway.
- 5/5
It was my second time there. Great value. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Would choose it a third time.
- 5/5
Itxwas great and the room was comfortable
- 2/5
Ants all over the room.
- 5/5
I’ll stay here next time. Easy access off of the highway, nearby food, gas. Friendly & clean.
- 3/5
It's OK, but very basic. On the street but my room was quiet. Clean, with a small fridge and microwave.
- 2/5
The outside of the facility was not clean, there was no place to put things in the shower (the owner said he was going to fix it that day). There was a lock on the soda machine and ice dispenser.
- 4/5
convenient after a long drive from CA
- 4/5
Great and clean place to lay our heads for the night. We came in late and called earlier to let them know of our late arrival. Staff were very accommodating.
- 1/5
So after paying their $250 cash deposit at check-in, as the guy went to go check the room at check-out, the wife came into the office and told me how the last time I was there (over a year ago), after I left they could could tell I had smoked meth inside the room. Apparently the smell was so strong she had to replace the carpet... Ok, let me get this squared up, for 1- if it smelled so strong of anything, why was it undetected when they checked it? 2- why would carpet be replaced, when there was no carpet? 3- why did I get my deposit back? Both times? Easy answer because you're full of s***! I can not believe how unprofessional and disrespectful this place is. After checking in, I went to work for 9 hours. Came back to the room to get some sleep, but couldn't because one of the neighbors were arguing all night... Didn't get much sleep, but then to be insulted by this b*****, was bs. After I got my deposit back, they said something about not being able to stay there if you live within 40 miles, I told them that's ok, I'll never be coming back anyways.
- 5/5
Very nice lady checked us in, nice room, no complaints
- 4/5
Room was a good ordinary room for an overnight. Carpet needs to be replaced
- 5/5
The room was renovated and was unusually clean and especially for the price. I had expected less and pleasantly surprised.
- 4/5
Solid choice for a basic but clean and comfy stay. I was mid-trip on my motorcycle and just looking for a good nights sleep. Grocery store and gas close by and was able to park at my units door. Pride of ownership is evident in the ongoing maintenance from a newer owner who I chatted with. Photo is from Fred Meyer parking lot a short walk away.
- 4/5
The folks who worked there were great and the price was really good for Ashland. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was a bit small.
- 5/5
Very nice friendly staff and conveniently located.
- 4/5
It is right next to hwy 5, gas station and restaurant. Very convenient for one night stay. Will stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean and a good value. Only negative is that the soda in the soda machine is warm.
- 5/5
This is a "basic" motel room but was very clean and comfortable--it even has a rocker/recliner! Relatively quiet and safe-feeling neighborhood. The woman who checked us in was very courteous.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly however.
- 5/5
We would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Very good for the price. Very clean and the room was upgraded, very clean bathroom, like the Pergo flooring
- 5/5
Nice room with frig and microwave park right outside of room and good value.
- 4/5
Small hotel but safe, service is good, and staffs are very friendly.
- 4/5
Location was good for our purposes. Room a bit tired but clean. Bed and pillows were not great.
- 5/5
Clean room
