We thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the 1 bedroom suite. The kitchen was well equipped. Our only complaint is that the bed was terribly uncomfortable and very firm. We considered trying to sleep on the pull out couch, but there were no linens for it. We also missed out on the weekend breakfast because the restaurant was temporarily closed.

Great stay. The staff was friendly but need to be more informative on closures such as the pool closing 2 hours early, no functioning hot tub and the on-site restaurant not being in operation. We will likely return when these issues are resolved

  • Jennifer Jun 2026 · via expedia
    3/5

The restaurant was closed, which was disappointing since we were counting on having the convenience of that on-site. Nothing on the website let us know that it was closed. The pool was closed. Also, nothing on the website indicated that the pool was closed. They need to keep their website updated with relevant information so that guests can plan accordingly.

This is an old condo complex and you have to sign a bunch of short term rental paperwork which I wasn’t expecting… our unit stank like wet dog. Parking was not good, elevator was sketchy. Rough part of town. Not a great experience.

We were only here one night for a procedure the next morning at Mission Hospital, but this will now be our go to from this point forward for any future procedures. My father needs to have. It was spacious, well appointed, and laid out perfect perfectly for the number of family members that attend when these things happen.

The kitchen was nice but we had to buy a large pan and baking sheets to cook our meals. The kitchen was very limited on cooking utensils and cookware. For a 3 bedroom suite we had 2 very small frying pans which just doesn't work when cooking for 6 people. We asked at the front desk for more cookware and they could not help us.

Overall, a nice place to stay and affordable. We did not use the amenities. The only issue was loud noises from the unit above ours. There does not seem to be much insulation between the levels. Each unit has a nice outdoor sitting space.

If you prefer a condo/apartment, I highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect. You can get to downtown and West Asheville within minutes. Additionally, the property is literally a few blocks from the Biltmore Estates. However, I highly recommend asking for a high floor unit with a view of the city.

This is not a hotel and should not be categorized as one. It is private condos that a service books. They do not manage it. Never book room 113 or 114. They are in the dingy first floor. The TVs did not work, the ceilings are peeling, the trash and towels were not refreshed regularly. I am going to ask for some compensation. They do not change linens. The front desk which is in a different building has no one to help you after 5. The refrigerator did not work in the first room we had and we had to move ourselves in the middle of the night. Then room 113 was worn down with the above problems plus stained carpets. the bedroom light was a strobe light. Room 324 was better but again stained carpets and peeling bathroom ceiling. This is definitely not even 3 stars. Wont stay there again. There was no one to help. The one bedroom 324 was much bigger than the 2 bedroom condo. Stay at a real hotel.

I checked at the desk that we had access to an elevator & they said yes. The elevator was out of order for the few days we were there. The toilet plugged up a few times, after the first time I just used the plunger that was there rather than calling for help. The skillet in the kitchen was dirty and crusty.

Pool was closed for repairs which was not listed online. Otherwise stay was very nice, clean and comforting. No interactions occurred with staff to review. I understand the realty company is working on maintenance. I discussed this with the manager upon checkout. And I do want to thank the marvelous staff, who made every effort to help us very quickly when our TV didn’t work, the lightbulbs needed changing, and the hot water would not work. I was disappointed in our stay this year, but I feel optimistic that the repairs will be made so I’ll give it another try next year.

Room was comfortable,, nice kitchen, had good amenities but we were tucked on the 1st ground floor where patio had no view, was a bit disappointed, also our neighbors above us had a dog so he was loud at all hours, not good, if you stay here be sure to ask for a top level room to avoid bad patio view and any noise above you, it will fix all of that

So, make sure you get groceries for your stay because you will have a full kitchen at your disposal. We loved how spacious, clean and warm our sweet was. Only minor complaint was the internet for work meetings and a movie, but it doesn't take away from the sheer luxury and decadance of this amazing place...DEFINITELY COMIMG BACK WHEN I have the chance!!!

We started to make coffee in the coffee pot, which we appreciated, but it was dirty. When reported to staff, an employee was sent to our suite with a sponge filled with soap.? She walked in without knocking even tho a Do not Disturb sign was on the door. This employee was very unhappy that she was sent to clean a coffee pot which was not requested. By then we had already had our morning coffee after we cleaned the pot. It didn’t make any sense. The fan that was provided in one of the closets in the bedrooms did not work and was filthy with dust. (One family member stays warm all the time.) The temperatures were cold and there were no extra blankets in the closets. We went to staff to get another blanket and was given one stained very badly all over the blanket. It looked like something else other than red fruit juice. Overall the suite was a good place for us and very comfortable and clean.

The only real complaint is you can hear everything the neighbors are doing above you. Including late night activities. You can also hear everything happening outside the front door. The property is in a hill and divided into 3 separate levels of the hill. So getting to and from the pool/fitness center is not simple or indoors. Something to keep in mind if you’re disabled or have kids. Overall, it was a very nice property and suite.

The property itself and the condo were nice! The bed was super uncomfortable and should have more than two pillows per person and the water filter needs changed in the refrigerator! Cons: There is a small kitchen, but not a lot of dishes for cooking. The water for a shower took quite a while to get hot. You had to hold down handle for toilet to flush. The furniture in the living area was uncomfortable. You have to walk quite a ways, up a lot of stairs to get to the pool, dog walking and smoking area.

Great property if you are traveling with family etc. Our unit had 3 bedrooms and two baths, a nice kitchen area and living area. A good deal of space and nice porch. The first unit we checked in had not been thoroughly cleaned. Had snack food, wrappers, debris under furniture and under cushions on furniture. One chair even had prescription pills under the cushions. Screens on patio doors torn loose from frame. Screen on fireplace torn and loose. Hair was in all drawers in both baths. One shower had bugs swarming in it. The primary bath shower door handle was coming loose and the light in shower did not work. The entry door and patio had multiple carpenter bees flying everywhere. Unit smelled of mold and mildew. Front desk offered to move us to room next door. It was at least cleaner. I complained that the view was not as nice. The first unit was on the front and had mountain views. This unit overlooked the rear parking lot and the back of the next building. Employee agreed, but said only other unit was not on top floor and would be more noisy because these were built in 1960's, very thin walls/ floors.Employee said she would speak to the manager on duty regarding a partial refund for having to deal with these issues and the time spent having to move our belongings. We moved to the second unit. At least it had been cleaned. Still extremely noisy. Could hear every other door that shut and noise from other units. Sheets are extremely worn and scratchy. Dish soap built in pump at sink broken. Bath faucet leaked when hot water turned on. Water has to run to get warm. Plastic bag around smoke detector. No discount because we booked on Expedia.

The carpart has cigarette burns and looks dirty we wore our shoes The icemaker and water in ref was not working in the freezer the ice maker was in parts and on two shelves. Unfortunately we only stayed here for one night in the middle of a roadtrip, because this property (and the room especially) is AWESOME! We were traveling for four small children, and the two bedroom unit was SO nice. Plenty of space, kitchen was large and well stocked, two spacious bathrooms, lots of room to spread out....everything we needed and more. We found the staff extramely friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and it was a quick trip to downtown Asheville. We didn't take advantage of the spa or the gym. I'd recommend this property and definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Ashville in the future.

It was a good value to have condo style for our family. The unit was in good shape. It could have used a better supply of kitchen supplies (like knives and baking dishes) and the dryer did not really work. But other than that, we enjoyed our 5 night stay! Walking distance to a cute stream and centrally located, close to many areas in Asheville!

The rooms were not very sound proof. We could hear someone above us closing doors and stomping around constantly. The pet walk area was difficult at night with no lighting in that area and drop offs at the end. Our only other complaint was that trash was not picked up consistently. Ours sat outside our room for 2 days. Our neighbors was there several days as well. And guests left food delivery trash at the bottom of the steps multiple times in different areas that were there for at least 24 hours. We never used any amenities on property other than the cafe.

My wife and I have been using rentals at Lantern Lodge, formerly Residences at Biltmore, since they opened. This was a top a notch rental property. But it's amazing how some rentals are being neglected. Every time we go back now the rental provided to us lack updates. On this particular visit there were new TVs. There was a large space after closing the door which made you feel unsafe. The easy chair and ottoman needs to be thrown out. It was so nasty, we wouldn't dare sit on them and the sofa need to be replaced or at least replace the cushions. It was very worn out also so we sprayed it with Lysol to have a place to sit. The unit needs to be painted. The tissue holder in the first bathroom and water lines are deteriorating due to moisture or lime build up. The icemaker did not work. Cleanliness of the room was good but more detail should be considered cleaning the appliances. The staff was good. I hate some rental properties are wasting away. They used to be so nice. Don't know if we'll be returning.

Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi was out of order. We came during warm weather 3/4/26 - 3/10/26 and brought our swim wear to use it, but were disappointed. The furniture in our unit was very old and worn out. Needs updating badly. The balcony wood railing/banister was completely rotted and in immediate need of replacing. We stayed at the hotel twice before over the past 5 years, but are realizing it is not being kept up to hotel standards. ( we are aware that the units are privately owned, but none should look like that. Also, the main amenity we wanted was not working. Location is great, the staff was nice. The outside of the buildings really need to be pressure washed and painted.

We went as a surprise trip for my lady’s birthday and the staff was friendly and accommodating even before we arrived. Securing our spa appointment was simple and since it was a surprise everyone made sure she wasn’t aware. She loved it. It’s great to see the town recovering. Even though Azalea is on site I was provided dinner recommendations for her special night as well as brunch options for the following day. We definitely plan to return in the summer for a family trip.

We stay at this property every time we visit Asheville. This was our first stay since the name change. I was a bit skeptical because we weren’t sure what to expect in terms of quality and service, but this was one of our best stays in the 11 years we’ve been staying here. My husband and I decided to add an extra day at the last minute and Expedia and the service desk at the property accomoated us and made the process seamless. The front desk gave us a room on the top floor with a view of the mountain which made the stay even more exceptional. We arrived Saturday at checkin and stayed thru Wednesday and it was peaceful, quiet and comfortable. The cleaning staff was also friendly and helpful each day of our stay. Thank you to Gliza from Expedia as well as Rowynne Copeland and Deonte from Lantern Lodge. Deonte always makes us feel welcomed and appreciated.

Parking is the biggest issue at this place. We have stayed here 5 or 6 times and it is always the same. We love it here. The only complaint I would have is that you can hear people above you. We had people playing music and walking around all night (literally) long. We called the office and they sent someone to check the sound and asked them to turn down the music. They were not trying to be loud, it is just that the insulation is not what it could be. This is always a great stay. We will continue to visit and can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

The room was fine, but not as clean as it should have been. The ice maker didn't work at all. We arrived and the location is great, we stayed 2 days and the layout was nice but it wasn’t what we were supposed to get. I had booked a 2 bed unit with a Jacuzzi tub, and instead we had two separate bathrooms and the entire unit was wheelchair accessible, so there was no deep tub. Just walk in shower in the master. The beds were nice, but being next to the parking lot on a low level the flood lights kept then bedrooms bright all night. We needed a few more blankets because there were three beds, but only one extra blanket. It took us two calls to the front desk to get them delivered. They have beach style shutter windows so you can’t really shut out light. The toaster didn’t work. The fridge water dispenser didn’t work. The kitchen and bathroom faucets never got hot water, the showers did though. We also woke up to construction work being done on the unit across from us. We stayed in unit 203. Just seemed like it was a nice place but needed a fair amount of up-keeping. Prob won’t stay again, despite the price was good. I’m sure many people would be happy with what is offered but I think it was advertised as a much higher quality place, left us disappointed.

Cons: we had no housekeeping the entire stay eventhough they state you will get fresh towels and trash removal daily. First day we returned and noone had come by, day two same thing. Called first thing in the morning to advise and also our fireplace was not working. We were assured they would come by. Same story, noone showed up. They sent the front desk gentleman Deonte on two separate nights to bring towels and remove trash. He also got the fireplace to work. He was very courteous (he also checked us in) and apologetic. Next day they threw the towels on the sink and only emptied the kitchen trash, no bathroom removal. Unit was not very clean, bathrooms loaded with mildew. Cups dirty inside cupboard, no dish tabs available to run the dishwasher. Stove had baked on gunk and crumbs from previous guests, as well as the toaster was filthy. Washer in bedroom was full of mold as well. Upon check out, the young lady who helped me was very short, no good morning, no how was your stay, just "do you want a receipt" I said happy new year as she handed me the paper , no response. Maybe when they chamge the facility name there is new ownership and better staff education/training in hospitality and hoisekeeping.

It would be impossible for me to put into words how fantastic of a deal this place was. I had originally booked in a different local hotel and was disappointed with the room. I am staying in Asheville for three nights and fortunately, the first hotel refunded me the first night so I could stay somewhere else for the next two. The residence is only cost me a little bit more and it was a world of difference. This place gives you a luxury one bedroom or two bedroom condo with a deep, hot tub king size bed full kitchen. I cannot understand why anybody would stay anywhere else other than this place when coming to Asheville except for that, they don’t know about it. I had considered the residences before booking originally and thought it was too good to be true, but it’s not. I am proud to endorse this place and would tell anybody I know or care about not to give it a second thought.

Front desk staff during the day were not reachable after many attempts, we finally gave up! Rooms were 8/10 on the cleanliness scale, build-up of cleansers on the floors made them feel sticky. Furniture is well worn and not very comfortable. Burnt out lights, couple lamps had shorts in them, kitchen appliance controls were worn off, buttons broken. Internet was slow and dropped out frequently. Needs refurbishing and a DEEP, thorough cleaning, two or three to strip down all the cleaners previously used and get it to a fresh clean again. Was very disappointed based on the price we paid.

The facility was nice in general. When I entered my room at first glance it was nice. However, as I looked around, I noticed things were not as they should be. This was a handicap room which I felt very guilty about taking a room that someone else may have needed as I’m not handicapped. There was a missing cabinet door on the cupboard beneath the cooktop. The refrigerator was dripping water from the water dispenser. The shower curtain in the master bath was covered with mildew, and no bath mat to step on when getting out of the shower. We had reserved the unit for 3 people and there was only towels for two people. I called the front office at 7 am for more towels and was told that he would leave a note for housekeeping to bring more towels when they came in at 11:00! I advised him that would be unacceptable and he replied that the only other choice was to wait for shift change in 30 minutes and he would bring up more towels. I said fine, however an hour later no towels. I called again and spoke to a lovely gal who apologized over and over again and brought towels up within a few minutes. A big plus to this unit was the working gas fireplace! Would I stay at this facility again? Yes, but would check unit thoroughly before staff left for the evening. It was spacious and had a good layout.

Our suite was comfortable, but had to clean the stovetop, and some pans from the cupboard, ourselves upon arrival. Bought dish soap and left it there, because there wasn’t any (just a small plastic cup under the sink and it was all gooey from sitting so long). There is a dishwasher, with detergent pods, but we never used it since it was faster to hand wash. We would definitely stay here again, though, and overall we really enjoyed our stay.

However: 1. The provided hair dryer did not work 2. The provided make-up mirror did not light. 3. To get warm or hot water, you had to run it wide open for at least 5 minutes, sometimes longer. Big waste of water. And time. This was every single time, not just the first time we used water. 4. For some reason, they do not seem to use fitted sheets on the beds. I had a king bed. The bottom sheet was a top sheet from a smaller bed that was turned sideways, leaving about 2 feet of space at the bottom of the bed not covering the mattress pad. As a tall person, this was gross to me. I kept thinking about the person’s feet who last slept in this bed. As it’s unlikely they wash the mattress pad after every rental, I was especially displeased. This must be a regular, usual thing as I remembered this occurred the last time I stayed here, which I had forgotten about. 4. No outside garbage cans, which would be helpful in removing trash from your car.

Staff was super friendly and helpful when we had a TV issue. This place has so much potential and the room spaces are great. Exactly what we were looking for. However, it was not clean! Coffee grounds were left in coffee maker, the kitchen cabinets and table were sticky and dirty. There were no rags or soap to wipe it down even if we wanted to. Hall bathrooms floors were sticky and hair was found in shower. It was obvious someone came in to empty trash but didn’t empty all of the cans. Took a towel or two but didn’t replace. No bar soap in the hall bath but there was in master. Just lack of attention to details and a big top to bottom clean!

This could be a great place to stay. The condo layout is great. The cleanliness and maintenance is what was lacking. We stayed in room 413. The carpet needs to be replaced, food wrappers under the bed, dried food on the kitchen floor and in the fridge, floor didn’t look to be swept or vacuumed well, fridge was filthy, and dried fluids on the walls in the dining area. This place has so much potential but I would not stay there again

Reflecting other reviews here, I would give it a rating of 5 if there were some maintenance and cleanliness issues addressed. Some paint, furniture refresh and attention to the grout in the bathroom would go a long way to make this place great. We were on the ground floor and the walls are definitely thin. The people above were either elephants or just loud walkers but all we heard was stomping and walking above us. Definite wear and tear are showing in the walls, couch, bathroom and detailed dusting is needed. Otherwise a great location and very roomy.

Very spacious 2 BD/2 Bath. There was a slight issue with the jacuzzi tub, which was reported to Management for inspection and reporting to unit owner. The tub jets kept turning off (as if on a timer, but were not). If you were to let the water out and leave, the pump could burn out when they jets came back on. Living room furniture in our unit was not particularly cozy (hard wood frame/arms) and were dated, and the mattress was too firm for us, in particular. The front office staff was very attentive and kind. Very nice kitchen. The complex is near main streets, so there is regular traffic sounds (sirens, etc.). Overall, a very nice place to stay and other guests were very friendly.

There were dishes in the sink. We got there and nobody was on duty then he had to drive there to check us in. The internet wouldn't work because the TV was offline and I had to call tech support and re do everything which was a lot of my night. We got there and the sliding doors to bed room and living room were unlocked. Dirty towel near spare toilet. Lights in bathroom kept blinking on and off like they were shorting out. The bar there was closed at 9 and the restaurant the speak easy so the pool and all dining and "free" amenities we could not even use the pool was closed at 9 the jacuzzi wasn't working. overall was not a very good experience what so ever.

The staff were all super nice and helpful and the stay was overall pleasant enough. The condos there are nice enough but the furnishings in the unit we stayed in on this trip were quite worn, the couch in particular was very worn, and would not have been easy to accommodate the four people the place says it would since no more than one person could comfortably sit on the couch without leaning towards the middle. The place is modern and up to date, but the set up in the kitchen made it impossible to access the drawer in the icemaker and there was a chunk of ice frozen in it that was stopping the ice from dumping. The dryer only worked when I pressed hard against a spot in the door while pressing start. That was a little disappointing since being able to do laundry was a big reason we chose this place and I was too nervous the dryer wouldn’t work so only washed a small load of clothes. The caulking along the front of the shower was black and rubbed off on the bath mat. The kitchen did not have some basic items, like a baking sheet, that I would have expected it to have. We had to sleep with the television on in the bedroom because the noise from the room above us was jarring while we were trying to sleep. They weren’t being loud. The units just are poorly soundproofed. The location is good, the units are nice and decently maintained, and I was happy with it for the price I paid on this trip, but I would have been disappointed had I paid more for it.

However there were a few negatives as well. We could hear the people above us clearly. Probably because of the hardwood floors. The other negatives were the pool and hot tub facilities. The hot tub was taped off and not available but nothing was said during check in. The pool was supposed to be heated but at 4:30pm it was very cold and certainly not heated to a temp comfortable enough for swimming. In addition it was absolutely filthy around the pool with a lot of debris in the pool and around the lounge area. Loungers were moldy and the towels musty. It had clearly not been attended to in several days. So room was really good but the facilities were not.

Booked this hotel for the hot tub and it was not working. This is the 2nd time in 2 years that it has not been working. Front desk, Justin, was rude when we tried to check in at 3:45 instead of 4:00. Many other people were already checking in way before 4:00. Things were pretty clean except for the brown sofa that could use an update. The toilet seat broke during our stay. We had a 1st floor unit and we could hear the people above us walking across the floor all day and night. The trauma hospital is across the street so we heard ambulances and loud helicopters right next to the hotel at all hours. Balcony was great! Don't know if I will stay again. If I do, the hot tub needs to be working and I need a top floor room. And ear plugs!!!!

The suite was nice, except the internet didn't work, we had to use our hot spot. One of the bathroom sinks was dripping all the time. The worst part was the only suite they had was upstairs, my S/O has problems with his legs that need surgery, but another health issue has to be dealt with first. Stairs and inclines bother him the worst. They did have one available downstairs, but he would still have to go upstairs to leave, so we elected the upstairs one, we were told it was up one flight. As we got up one flight we realized our room number was in the 400's and we were on the third level (300's), so we had to climb another flight of stairs as the elevator was out of service! They only took $25 off our bill!

We were upgraded to a one bedroom condo instead of the studio that we booked due to the a/c being out in the first building. It was a lovely surprise, the only caveat was that the elevator was out and we were on the third floor. But still a good trade off for us. The hot tub was also under repair. Patio was dirty, door to the patio would not lock but we were second story up in back. Cobwebs around staircase. Hot tub completely broken down with green water in it. Grounds needed attention. We loved the quality of the unit and thought it was very convenient to downtown. Unfortunately the hot tub was not working and we were unaware of that when we booked. That was important to me because I was in Asheville for a cycling race and was planning on using the hot tub after the event. It's not a deal breaker and we plan on staying there again, but we would have preferred to know that when we booked. If we had known the hot tub was down we would have booked a room with a tub.

We have stayed here before and had the best stay. This time time our room wasn't as clean.

The pool was also closed while we were there for an issue of some sort. Along with the hot tub. The condo itself was very nice, lots of space and all the amenities of home. Fully stocked kitchen was nice. It just needed another mirror in the bedroom so more than one person can get ready at a time. Definitely would go back there.

The property was perfect. The seal around the door needed to be redone because you could see lots of light through it and trash around the elevators needed to be fixed but other than that, it was good.

We stayed here for 3 nights in early July in order to explore the mountains of western NC. The suite was spacious, well apportioned, and comfortable. Check in and check out were easy. I was super impressed with the price considering we got a 2 bedroom suite that was over 1000 square feet! Would definitely stay here again. Fairly clean, large beautiful rooms, and fully stocked with kitchenware!

The cost is very high, parking is limited, property is tired and in need of updating - there are many stains and marks on the walls. (The stains next to the toilet are disturbing.) Front desk staff is not friendly, checking in was not a pleasant experience. Cleanliness was my biggest complaint: The bathroom floor was sticky. I wanted to take bath and when I reached to turn on the water, I saw a bunch of hair on the rim of the tub and filth near the drain and up about 10 inches. The whole tub was scummy. When we went to the office, the woman actually asked if we wanted it cleaned. Really? No apology at all. It was cleaned when we returned at the end of the day - and it was not much better than it was before. Also, there is NO maid service. If you want fresh towels, you have to ask for them. Oh, and there are constant police sirens and helicopters flying overhead. It made me wonder how safe the area is. So, this is not a place I would recommend. I say avoid it.

The receptionist had told us that she would call or contact us when the room was ready about 4;00pm check-in time, however, it was forgotten, no call , no text.
