All was great at the Beaufort House! We loved every minute and will happily be back!

Room description very misleading. our room was in the basement of the house. very damp, even though there was a dehumidifier in the room. blinds on the door were broken leaving open spaces any passerby could see through. bright light just outside door was on unable to turn off during the night. no chairs to sit in in the room. entrance to the shower/hot tub was wrong. It was turned so that you had to step over the wide part of the hot tub to get in. almost fell twice. outlets to nightstands did not work. employee on scene advised that she would let the owners of the bed and breakfast know about our concerns. Have not heard back anything. postponed this bad review, hoping that the owners would get in touch with us. paid $187 for a 10‘ x 10‘ room.

We stayed in one of the cottages, and it was quiet, comfy, and close to lots of things. Sarah was wonderful! The grounds were lovely, and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evening. Great suggestions for dinner, too.

Good location - short walk into Ashville and Uber back US$6/7. Nice breakfast and room.

Such a gracious home very close to downtown. We stayed in one of the cottages behind the main home- perfect for someone with mobility impairment. The breakfast is minimal, but the coffee is superb. Highly recommend!

The bed mattress was like a rock and possibly the least comfortable bed we've slept in in a long time. The continental breakfast was very basic, not a wide variety of options.
- 5/5
Lovely stay. We had the top floor suite with adjoining rooms, . Folks - both guests and staff - couldn’t have been nicer. Ate a delicious meal walking distance right around the corner at Jetti Rae’s seafood. Explored Asheville. Will definitely be back! FYI The second bed (closer to window) in twin room needs a mattress upgrade. I switched slept in the other one which was fine.
- 5/5
I couldn't figure out the air conditioning. Luckily it wasn't too warm. Everything else was great!
- 5/5
A beautiful house over 100 years old and perfectly restored. It was a joy to spend time there. The woman who manages it was just delightful! We can't wait to go back and experience another of the rooms.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Beaufort house. The house is amazing, the breakfast was great and our host was top notch. Would highly recommend!
- 5/5
Staff is very attentive. Will definitely book another stay here.
- 5/5
The staff were great and very kind! The room was clean and spacious. Will stay again sometime!
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and cozy with plush towels and bedding. Bathrobes and spa soap, very nice. In a quaint location, this historic home has kept the charm (gas fireplace in the Rose Bedroom) along with adding more modern features ( jacuzzi tub in the Oak Terrace Bedroom). By our choice, we stayed two nights in each of those rooms. Both were very nice, unique and equally enjoyable The breakfast was lovely with warm muffins, bagels, Greek yogurt & homemade granola, and more. Best of all, fresh orange juice and coffee. Sam, was friendly very helpful in telling us about the Asheville area and Beaufort House Inn. He went above and beyond to make our stay and visit, memorable and comfortable. A great host to all the guests. Sarah was delightful and helpful, too. They both made us feel very welcome and took good care of us. We would recommend it to our family and friends that love old homes, as we do. Great location, 15-20 minutes from Biltmore, Grovewood village and other places of interest.

Was a horrible experience no Wi-Fi five times someone was supposed to help with Wi-Fi. Never got TV pavers off centered hazardous walking big gaps between and missing gigantic potholes no organized gravel parking a 6 inch step up to sit on a toilet dangerous. This is damaged our 2024 car Corvette from potholes and driveway. This is not handicap accessible by no means very disappointed for the $264 that I paid very difficult to get anything they literally had ice and Ziploc baggies and difficult to find K cups to make coffee did not stay for the breakfast left. I would not suggest this place. They do not maintain the property. The management is horrible. You have between 3 to 5 for them to do anything to help you which they did not after that you’re on your own unbelievable
- 5/5
Lovely and comfortable inn with breakfast and parking. The owner, Sarah is precious.
- 4/5
The staff were excellent and the room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was carb heavy (bagels and muesli only), so we ended up going out for breakfast most days. Highly recommend walking down to Five Points diner for an excellent breakfast. We probably will not stay here again but the stay was basically fine.
- 5/5
Great location to zoom around to anywhere - yet tucked away. Beautiful place, comfortable bed and super linens. Sarah our hostess was made for this job - so warm and welcoming. Could highly recommend.
- 5/5
Amazing place like it better than hotel. Had my own private door going in and out. Only 7 min drive from down town. Highly recommend

So as far as staffing goes, it is lovely. I think if they can address the moisture issue and get a reliable Wifi connection, it would be a much better experience.
- 5/5
Beautiful old home with comfortable rooms and beautiful common areas
- 5/5
Everything about the Beaufort house exceeded our expectations. The house was so well cared for and has a very authentic feel. You could feel the love and care that goes into maintaining this historic hotel. We felt very much at home. Miss Sarah was very welcoming and made our stay so pleasant. We hope to return someday. We have so much gratitude!
- 4/5
We stayed here for a weekend getaway. We were pleased with the room and overall comfort of the B&B.
- 5/5
Visiting a “Gilded Age” home that has been lovingly converted to an inn reinforced the special character of an Asheville stay. Our hosts delivered the base for a perfect 4th weekend. We will be back.
- 3/5
Believe it or not the toilet for our room was actually in the shower with only a curtain to keep the water from splashing. Had to step over a 8 inch threshold to get into the combined shower/toilet. Very dangerous at night. Breakfast was just an average continental breakfast.
- 5/5
We were there with friends from the UK on a little tour. Did not want a hotel experience and The Beaufort House fit the bill perfectly! The staff was always available, well informed in the goings on in town, Biltmore Estate and dining recommendations etc. This all made for a most enjoyable excursion to the Great Smokey mountains of N.C.
- 5/5
Wonderful little b & b very close to great restaurants and attractions.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful property, exceptionally friendly staff, in a beautiful area of town. All around just a great experience. We will be back!
- 5/5
This house is stunning! We only had one night and so happy we chose this place 😊
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Beaufort Inn. The showers were great! We stayed in the cottages out back and enjoyed them. Room was clean and cozy. We appreciated the main house for breakfast, cookies, wine glasses and it's accomodations.
- 5/5

The property is beautiful. The host Cheryl is so kind. Breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
Great place with attention to details. Really enjoyed!
- 4/5
Lovely spot close to everything in Asheville. Fabulous breakfasts! We'd give it a five other than this issue: If you are going in the summer ask for a room other than the Rose room. It is beautiful, charming and spacious but, as it faces the afternoon sun, the a/c just couldn't keep up. The hostess/manager offered us an extra fan that helped, but at the expense of quite a bit of noise overnight. The room eventually cools off - but not until well into the night.
- 5/5
Nice staff. Quiet and clean accommodations. Wonderful bed.
- 5/5
It was a beautiful place to be. The cottage was very nice and the shower is awesome.
- 5/5
We loved this Inn. Absolutely charming in every way
- 2/5
Staff was friendly, the room was too hot, the cookies were delicious, but the breakfast needs some attention. I did not expect a bowl of fruit and then a bread pudding dessert as a meal. No protein, pure sugar. I would not return.
- 5/5
Perfect quiet, relaxing getaway. Stayed in the Oak Terrace room which had a huge bathroom and plenty of space for the 2 of us. Everything was spotless! We would love to return in the future.
- 5/5
Wonderful Airbnb in the heart of Asheville. Quiet, comfortable, lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff. Breakfast was amazing each morning. Wonderful stay!
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
Beautiful property in wonderful Victorian house. Very nice room, great breakfast, friendly staff. Very much enjoyed.
- 5/5
The classic Victoria style home was perfect. We stayed in a renovated carriage house cottage behind the house and it was wonderful. We had privacy to celebrate our anniversary yet had access to the main house for incredible breakfasts and to socialize with other guests. The grounds were stunning and we enjoyed having coffee each morning on the front porch swing. Bunnies and birds everywhere and the staff was friendly, engaging and super sweet. Highly recommend and my wife and I will be back for sure!
- 5/5
My husband and I were very happy with our stay here. Breakfast was delicious and the room was lovely and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Great place!!
- 5/5
Great 👍 inn with hospitality and wonderful breakfast
- 1/5
We booked a room that said specifically, in 2 places, it had a jetted tub. I have screenshots of the booking. It specifically says "Dogwood Cottage" has a jetted tub. Well guess what? No jetted tub. The jetted tub was the only reason we booked this one night getaway from the kids as we are locals and have no need to stay in the hotel. They refuse to refund our money, despite false advertising on their end. Expedia even confirmed the room should have had a jetted tub and tried to get the money back for us and were not successful. If you want a jetted tub, don't trust the website or the booking info.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time in Asheville. Beaufort House was nice and clean, the property was well kept and the breakfasts were delicious every morning!
- 5/5
We had a great stay at Beaufort House. The breakfasts were delicious and everyone was so friendly!
- 5/5
I can not speak highly enough about our stay. We will definitely return.
- 5/5
Beautiful house; excellent breakfasts; lovely, quiet neighborhood. We stayed in one of the cottages and didn't love the shower in the corner of the room -- with glass doors, meaning no privacy, and no place to put a towel. But the bed was very comfortable. Nice little deck in back, too. I would definitely stay here again. Near Trader Joe's too.
- 5/5
The staff was very cordial and always willing to engage in conversation as well as suggest places to go or things to do in and around Asheville. And the breakfasts were outstanding.
- 2/5
The heat did not operate in the room. On the day of our departure, the temperature on the room thermostat was 67 degrees. TV & internet were inconsistent. TV would function for about 30 seconds, and then freeze until a screen message appeared to inform us that it was "buffering." It would take at least a minute for the buffering process to complete.
- 5/5
Gourmet breakfast and mid-afternoon cookies or other sweet treats were amazing! Friendly staff, but did not replace room with fresh washcloths and hand towels each day. My husband had to call and get some from the main house upstairs. (We were in a room that wasn’t in the main part of the house.) Loved sitting on the front porch swing!
- 5/5
Beautiful property!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. The room was comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, everything was well communicated, and the breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend this to others. I appreciate the updated plumbing in the bathroom but the historic style matching the overall property was maintained.
- 5/5
Charming B&B. Great property. Amazing breakfast. Shower and bathroom were small in our room, but to be expected
- 5/5
Beautiful bed and breakfast with superb amenities, in a quiet neighborhood with private parking, quiet peaceful outdoor gardens and porch areas to relax, eat, and see the mountains in the distance. Fantastic staff and chef made breakfast daily. Excellent care and understanding of food allergies to ensure serving each guest is possible. Nearby walking to some local bakeries, restaurants and grocery stores in the neighborhood. If you enjoy walking or biking, this was a safe walk to the downtown Broadway street area.
- 5/5
Parking is tight but manageable. Will be back again!
- 5/5
Close to downtown, was an easy walk to get there. Sheryl was great. Parking was easy.
- 5/5
Built in 1895, the house was incredibly beautiful and the staff was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable!
- 5/5
The lady that worked on Saturday was excellent. She is very she was very helpful. Helpful in many areas very nice.
- 5/5
We were speechless with the area and accommodations at the beautiful Beaufort Inn. We stayed in the Savannah Room in the Carriage house behind the house. Super clean and spacious. I love how there are working fireplaces in all of the rooms! I love how it’s a good distance off the street with a huge front and side yard full of gorgeous flowerbeds and patio seating. The area is so quiet, but a quick 10 minute walk to downtown and delicious restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, yoga, and massage therapy. We will be back for sure!!
- 5/5
Wow!! One of our highlights on our week in SC, NC & Georgia! Property was beautiful! Our Host: Makayla (spelling, sorry!) was amazing! Truly kind and super attentive to us in offering local points of interests, history of the Inn, and restaurants in walking distance. We felt completely safe on the property, which helped us feel completely relaxed during our stay. Our chef presented chocolate cookies upon our arrival, as well as a Keurig coffee (tea!), or cold water dispenser. Breakfast was yummy, with a fruit/yogurt parfait, and a few alternatives in breakfast to accommodate dietary issues we have. We were surprised of his kindness and willingness to change the menu to assist us, but it was important for him to ensure we were taken care of. Quite the kind gesture! Parking was on the property, and plenty as well. Beautiful Inn with amazing history! We loved our stay! And like I said, one of our favorite highlights during our travels!! Thank you!
- 5/5
Delightful breakfast everyday with different menu each time. It was nice to stay in a bed/breakfast inn listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Close to downtown, restaurants, waterfalls and hiking trails.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was large and clean. Chef prepared a delicious breakfast. We will stay again.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and delightful in every way.
- 5/5
This bed and breakfast was so nice. Extremely clean. Breakfast was a hot one and delicious. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
The staff are so kind and caring. The home is beautiful and well maintained. I highly recommend this property. A lovely experience from all perspectives!
- 5/5
The setting was amazing as it is a victorian home. The staff and breakfast was fabulous and food accomodations were made when requested easily
- 5/5
Wonderful house, friendly staff, excellent breakfast!
- 3/5
Parking was limited and we did not have heat in our bathroom.
- 4/5
There's a nice porch which would be a great place to hang out, read a book and meet other guests, but in the colder months there's not really much space inside to do that - the main floor of the house is mostly given over to dining, The location is about a 15-20 minute walk from downtown, which is great, although parts of the walk felt a little sketchy at night. Overall, a very charming and enjoyable base from which to explore Asheville.
- 4/5
Unique
- 5/5
Would have given five stars but I’m not accustomed to staff leaving at 6 PM.
- 5/5
We had a lovely sojourn at Beaufort House Inn. We stayed here 25 years ago and it is still a memorable destination.
- 5/5
We had the most wonderful stay at the Beaufort House. We highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Everything was great from staff to breakfast. Only problem I had was with TV not streaming. Need more bandwidth.
- 4/5
Everything else was wonderful……would not currently recommend that room, though!
- 5/5
Staff was so wonderful - we arrived slightly after check in times (we called ahead) and we were still greeted by the staff to show us to our room and gave us a little tour. The willow room was so sweet - wonderful shower, cute little porch with a view, and the bed was comfortable! Breakfast every day was outstanding, especially with the free coffee and tea 24/7. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Would recommended!!!
- 5/5
My husband and I visits a deferent bed and breakfast every year for your anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay here. The house and property was beautiful and we loved how close it was to everything we wanted to do! Definitely would stay again in the future!
- 5/5
First b&b I have stayed in. Breakfast served was great! Loved the afternoon wine and snacks.
- 5/5
Confutable and beautiful home. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
Charming, clean and convenient. Wonderful breakfast and very helpful staff. Wish we could have spent more time there.
- 5/5
It is a little bit of a walk to town and parking was tight. One night we got back late and there were no spaces left so we had to park on the street.
- 1/5
I book BNBs to have the opportunity to talk with the BNB owner. This is a corporate run place, no one lives on site. The main house is beautiful looking. But beware! Perhaps the great reviews are from people who stayed in a room within the house! Which is what we thought we were doing. But the “cozy suite” “with its own entrance” that is “in the main house” is actually a windowless (the entrance door is glass) stuffy dump of a room that is not part of the home itself but part of the same building - probably a former wood storage area or similar that is located at the back under the main house. It’s also under the kitchen given we heard every movement of the cooking staff the next morning. So the description was duplicitous and totally misleading. Further, after coming back from a walk in the late afternoon (still light) we came up behind a large bear!!! Never having seen one before we were absolutely petrified and raced into our room - fearful the bear would come banging on our very unsubstantial glass door. We called the after hour emergency number - no one answered. We left a message saying we were scared and didn’t want to leave our room. No one ever rang back. So we had a hungry evening in our horrible little room. Luckily I guess the bear moved on because there was no one around to offer help if any kind. This is appalling and could have been much worse had something actually happened. Apparently bears are around - would have been nice to have been warned.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and area, delicious breakfasts, very comfortable bed and sheets.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved my experience there. I looked forward to coffee and breakfast every morning and tea in the evenings on the porch. The massive tub in the room was awesome too. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Beautiful Victorian home with gourmet breakfasts and lovely guests from all over!
- 5/5
We stayed at the Beaufort House on a recent and first time trip to Asheville. The home is gorgeous and very historical. It’s about a 15 minute walk into the downtown area, and 5 mins to nearby food stores. The grounds were beautiful with a large porch to relax on, as well as a lovely garden/sitting area. The included breakfast was amazing, and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone wanting to stay in the Asheville area.
- 5/5
Beautiful property with nice amenities and accommodations. Breakfast was amazing. We'd love to come back sometime.
- 5/5
Staff were kind, attentive and also the daily breakfast was not only delicious, it was a work of art. (I hope the chef’s name was Patrick). If I go back to Asheville again, I will surely reserve this inn again. Thank you
- 5/5
All staff were kind and respectful to my diet inquires. I loved the breakfast during my stay too. Patrick ( l hope that was his name) was an excellent chef who did every breakfast dish as an art piece. I was also happy with the location of the inn that had convinient walking access to downtown, grocery stores and the historic landmarks. One more thing! I loved, loved their well designed garden that i walked around during my stay. Thank you
- 5/5
Highest recommendation!!

Amazing place and within walking distance to all the downtown Asheville attractions!
- 5/5
House and grounds are beautiful and the breakfast was amazing!!! Staff so friendly.

Beautiful property with lovely staff.

My husband and I usually stay in timeshares/motels when we travel, but we love "vintage" homes and thought we would try something different to celebrate our 50th anniversary in Asheville, NC. The Beaufort Inn was well rated and we liked the photos we saw online, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Not only did we enjoy the turn of the century (19th to 20th) feel of the home, but we also loved sitting outdoors on the stone patio to listen to the birds in the evening. As for our furnishings, the mattress was comfortable although we wish we had been able to book the room with the KING sized bed. There were two upholstered chairs in our room that are are showing their age and sank down when we sat in them. I would have preferred more support. The bathroom was charming although it was a bit of a challenge to get into tub/shower due to the height of its enclosure. We stayed for 2 nights and were served two lovely breakfasts that we enjoyed very much. (However, if you are looking for a bacon/egg/biscuit hungry man kind of breakfast, look elsewhere! ;) ) The staff kept a low profile but was friendly whenever contact was made. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to stay here again. FYI, all of the other guests here were about our age and were friendly and interesting, but if you are looking for excitement or a young crowd this might not be the place for you!
- 5/5
The only thing we did not like was breakfast. The scones were delicious but the burritos with salsa and the garden salad were not the best breakfast choice. I only ate half of my Burrito and just couldn’t handle the salad that early. My husband had an upset stomach the rest of the day.
- 5/5
Only negative was that we were in no 9 and the shower was hard to figure out.
- 5/5
Lovely place. Food was excellent. Will definitely return here.
- 5/5
Cute and quiet B&B, close to town. Very comfortable and inviting.
- 5/5
Nice comfortable place.
- 5/5
The chef was superb and all the breakfasts we had outstanding with the exception of the quiche which just maybe is not as popular. I heard other guests voice this also and noted there were lots of guests who did not eat their breakfast that day. We would highly recommend Beaufort Housr Inn and we would certainly like to return. 5 stars and hopefully welcome feedback ftom us.
- 4/5
B&B. All good except “European bathroom “ so ask about which room you are getting.
- 5/5
Lovely B&B in really great location. Well maintained, excellent breakfast, nicely appointed rooms and bathrooms. Very clean, staff is friendly. You can walk to restaurants/stores/bars., Couple of miles from Biltmore Estate. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.
- 5/5
Beautifully restored historic home. The service was wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
The Beaufort House Inn is the cutest little B&B it is tucked away in the center of Asheville. it is walkable to many of the breweries in Ashville. The staff was incredibly friendly and truly cared about our stay. We had the best breakfast of waffles, fresh strawberries and cream, and sausage. We definitely will be coming back here again.
- 5/5
The property is an historic landmark and quite appropriately furnished. The breakfasts were delicious. The location allows those who like to walk 15 minutes to downtown
- 5/5
Beautiful historic stay near downtown Asheville!
- 5/5
We were welcomed with brownies and a smile. The young couple that saw to our every need was exceptional. The house itself was impeccably restored and so tastefully decorated. Our fellow travelers were interesting and engaging. The food was great and the bed most comfortable. Be sure to stay here if you get the chance.
- 5/5
Lovely home. Easy check in. They have shampoo and conditioner and soap. Very nice bedding and towels and robes. We stayed in the Ivy room. I would choose another room next time. The tub and shower combination was awkward to get in and out of. The people walking in the kitchen above us was noisy early in the morning.
- 5/5
breakfasts were unique and delicious. innkeeper was super!
- 5/5
Great staff! Very accommodating to dietary needs for breakfast. Close to downtown area and Biltmore which is a must see! Really nice room and very clean. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
The stay was very nice. The food was good and it was very clean and maintained. It was the first time staying in a B&B and I would have loved to stay inside the house but it was a last min booking. Still a nice experience and when the weather was warmer, it had a lot of nice amenities outside the property to relax as well. Would stay here again!
