Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its friendly and professional staff, proximity to DCA airport, and convenient on-site restaurant. However, guests frequently complain about the slow and noisy elevators, lack of cleanliness in some rooms, and the need for major updates to the property.

Parking waa a little high and breakfast

Easy check in & out, room was clean with comfortable bed. Great access to subway & bus lines and hotel shuttle from airport was quick.
- 4/5
The location is good: 5-10 minutes from the airport on the half hourly shuttle and about 15 minutes walk from Crystal City subway. The room was spacious. Bed comfortable. Good storage, Wi Fi and shower. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast: good choices. Food OK. 1: Generally quiet other than when the cleaners working in the next room. The lobby area is noisy due to "background" noise. 2: Sometimes, a long wait for a lift.

The first thing that hits you about the room is the smell - like a wet dog. Feels like they overzealously cleaned the carpets at some point, and the carpets never dried properly. The crumbling base of the pressboard desk is evidence of the same, and the fixtures in many cases are broken (e.g. the outlet in the wall next to the desk, outlets and sketchy ethernet port built into the desk). The fridge is a sad little college dorm affair. The bearings in the bathroom fan are on their last legs - the fan roars when running. The lighting is a cold medical-grade white. The concession stand in the lobby is a depressing homage to Frito-Lay. Other than that, fantastic!

Thee was no hot way yet at all in the bathroom. Let the water continue to run and not even warm
- 3/5
Our flight was canceled, so I called the hotel to tell them. I had hoped that we could possibly get a refund on the trip, based on our circumstances, but that didn't happen.
- 4/5
It was ok. Nothing in the area though. No restaurants, no grocery stores.
- 4.5/5
Only problem is that one of the elevators was done while I was there during a. Convention. But the staff was amazing

Everything was great but it would be better if the restaurant had more hours and the breakfast had more to choose from
- 4/5
Staff are nice and professional. I enjoyed my room and the shuttle service was great
- 3/5
The staff was lovely, the place is showing its age.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean sometimes
- 3/5
The hotel is currently housing dozens of national guard troops. It was also a hotspot for many ICE agents staying.
- 5/5
The room was clean, and I was able to check in early

First night we had a problem with the shower. The water was cold and abruptly lost pressure. Nearly every day we call the front desk to resolve it. They'd send someone up but one time no one bothered to come. I complained to the front desk and they offered to not charge me for parking but in the end the parking was charged. And when checking out I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk about the shower that had no warm/hot water and no pressure and she didn't offer to do anything to compensate. Also, I prepaid for breakfast every day I stayed there. What a waste, the bread and bagels were stale every day, the coffee pot was often empty and the one day it wasn't I got a cup and added milk from the stainless canister and the milk was sour. Very bad experience. I will never stay at this or any other Holiday inn again. I would recommend avoiding this place at all cost. Bad staff, bad experience.

Toilet didn’t flush properly. The air conditioner kept cutting out. Way too expensive for what it is
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff
- 1/5
The room was not very clean and was rundown. I stayed at this property in July 2026 with no issues. Actually, enjoyed that stay, which is why I booked for this stay. Not sure if the hotel is under new management this stay, but I likely will not rebook.
- 3/5
Very expensive for a typical utilitarian Holiday Inn. It seemed a lot of the hotel was rented out to National Guard troops. They were well-behaved- got no beef with them. But not only was my nose rubbed in the fact that my taxes pay for Trump’s nonsense, but I also get stuck paying more for my room.
- 4.5/5
The room was beautiful. Clean, comfortable and exceeded my expectations. We called the morning of arrival and asked for an early check in. We were told that would not be a problem. We ended up waiting hours, the room was ready at the regular check in time.

Even though the hotel is on the older size we were very happy with the staff and amenities. The only draw back is the lack of eating places around the hotel.

Nice place and convenient
- 3/5
The room was very clean, and the house keeping staff were amazing! On Friday morning we had breakfast at the restaurant, the buffet was down so you could only order from the selection of maybe 6-8 dishes and side items like bacon or potatoes were not included. The woman working there Friday was great, she was helpful and explained everything. However, the hostess on Saturday was very standoff and unpleasant. The gym wasn't that big but you could get a simple work out in. It was not a bad stay just not a great one either. Oh and they messed up mine and my husbands breakfast order and he is lactose intolerant so when a person says no cheese it should be respected. I do not eat pork and the omelet had both sausage and bacon after I asked for a veggie. The wifi worked fine, and the TV was good. Location wise it was perfect. There were several people who were going to the airport and the hotel provided a shuttle.
- 3/5
The room was outdated, but otherwise fine. My chief complaint is, on the last night of my weekend stay, a staff member entered my room unannounced. It was around 10pm & I was in bed alone. I was woken up by a strange man casually walking around my suite. When I yelled at him and asked who he was and to get out of my room, he made some pushing gesture with his hands before leaving. No words, no apology, no explanation by the front desk. Nothing. I felt incredibly violated & unsecure in my room. I will never stay here again.
- 5/5
Quick check in and check out

Cons: Slow tub drain Ice machine stopped working on my floor
- 5/5
It was very nice very clean and the location was spot on. I have nothing bad to say about my stay. I will be coming back

The room was a little cold, and it would have been nice to have more food options.
- 3/5
The room had a few stuff that were broken, the tv was not working but were fixed, we talked to 2 spanish cleaning staff and they were very nice, front desk were not that nice. Amenities were ok. We thought was going to be a better looking hotel because of the name but was not like that.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay
- 3/5
It took a while for the shower to get cold. Plus one of the outlets in my room has exposed wires.

- 5/5
Room clean. Staff were helpful and courteous
- 3/5
The clerk at check in was very helpful and kind. When we checked out and were awaiting our airport shuttle we were going to grab a cup of coffee but the price was $3. So the breakfast was free except we left at 445am so we were unable to take advantage of that but the coffee was $3? It’s small things like this that have lasting effects. Won’t stay here again…keep your coffee!
- 5/5
Clean room excellent check in

It was fine enough
- 5/5
Staff are good, room clean, breakfast superb.

- 5/5
Simple - quick & easy
- 5/5
Quiet, clean, friendly staff
- 2/5
Noisy, there was an odor i just couldn't get my finger on it. 2 floors above, a fight broke out and I could hear it down stairs, I am not sure if the police were called. Not a good place to stay if you don't have something to drown out the noise. And the staff doesn't care if you're an elite member or not, they'll charge you 22 dollars per person for the breakfast and charge you to PARK your car there.
- 3/5
The “fitness center” is actually very pathetic. There’s one working bench and the whole chest press multifunctional machine is broken. Dumbbells go up to 40lbs so really can’t do much as an adult male. Also some of the guests are a bit shaky. I witnessed a fight that broke out which was very off putting and was at 3am and cops showed up and I wasn’t able to go back to sleep until 5am. I was late for my morning tasks and appointments. The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition I enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the lady at the restaurant was attentive. Overall 3.5/5. Not the best experience overall. Also shoutout to the cleaning crew they were awesome. Cleaned my room like clockwork everyday during my stay and replenished the tea and towels.
- 1/5
They charge $42 a day for parking. They don’t tell you in advance
- 3/5
Smaller bathroom size... high charges for car parking... very limited breakfast options
- 5/5
I really like the location of the hotel. Having a nice place to rest so close to the airport is amazing. And having a McDonald’s literally behind the corner is amazing too. Very clean and confortable. I truly appreciate the shuttle every 30 minutes. Such a nice experience!
- 3/5
The hotel is nice but very noisey. Every morning a lot of noise, starting at 730am. Plus a lot of noise in the hallways.
- 5/5
Our one night stay was comfortable. Rooms need to be updated, but it was clean. Perfect location if you're flying out of DCA.
- 5/5
Clean room, pleasant staff. The price was not discounted for paying costumers of hotel
- 5/5
Very clean rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and convenient distance from airport.
- 3/5
Room clean, staff could work on customer service. No free parking and no breakfast and no coffee. Asked for out coffee maker to be replaced and it never happened
- 4/5
The airport was easy to find at the hotel. Staff was very polite and it walking distance to metro of you want. The only negative thing is the overall cleanliness. When I got there there's was water on the bathroom floor, a baby roach on the mattress and sometimes the toilet doesn't gather water to flush.

When i arrived they said I'd already checked in. They gave me a room that was occupied. I walked into a room with someone in it. Embarrassing!!!
- 4/5
Get rid of that rude shuttle driver
- 5/5
Amazing super nice staff!!
- 3/5
No towels in the room. Had to get them from front desk
- 4/5
Rooms are comfortable and staff is competent. It's very convenient for airport parking and fine for a one night stay. The shuttle is also very prompt. I did find the breakfast buffet to be pricey for what was offered.
- 4/5
A nice hotel. I will be back
- 3/5
Cons: Staff could care less. Very unfriendly. One working elevator that takes forever. Judging by the revjews from months ago 1 of 3 working is the norm. Think you will take the stairs? Good luck, it is like a labyrinth around the first floor because then there are two levels of parking garage and then the lobby, or maybe even another level before the lobby. Thankfully there was not a fire. The rooms are very poor cosmetically. Small, with broken and chipped furniture. Also, Google Maps gives you directions to an awkward turn in with a one way drop off, the wrong way from how you pulled in. They are ok directions for the parking garage but not for a drop off. Go just a bit past that entrance, there is another entrance that will have you going the correct way on the one way. I would not say do not stay here, but I probably will not stay here again. I will try another hotel.
- 3/5
- Despite asking the housekeeping staff member in the hallway...my room was not cleaned. - Room was small and old. - Only 1-2 elevators were working. - NGs also stayed here. I suppose that could be viewed as a good/'safe' thing. However, if you are coming from a low-crime country, it can be a bit unsettling. - 15-minute walk to the nearest Metro. - No comp brewed coffee offered in the lobby, - Room safe was locked. Not sure if that was the last person or because we are expected to pay for it. I've never had to pay for a room safe in NA. On a positive note, the airport shuttle was appreciated, the drivers were punctual amd friendly. I might stay here again if I couldn't find better in a similar price category.
- 4/5
All went well. Unfortunately the business centre computers were not functioning due to a nil internet connection. Otherwiseroo is as expected etc.

Very good!!
- 5/5
I am happy with everything. Thanks a lot!
- 2/5
Building was so old, too expensive for this old hotel.
- 4/5
It was close to a many restaurant and a pharmacy which was great especially if you’re staying for multiple days. MCD is literally right next door, 1 minute walk. Breakfast: If you decide to buy the breakfast through Expedia, they offer it a bit cheaper then if you buy it through the hotel. The breakfast was limited but good. Eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, bread, small pastries and fruits were offered along with some drinks of course
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Hotel is about 5 mins from the airport and about a 15 min drive from some on the hop-on hop off bus stops which was very convenient for us.
- 4/5
Check in was quick with minimal social chat which works for me. Room was ok, some peeling wallpaper, the smoke detector was hanging from its wires, and limited room/bathroom amenities bit they had liquid hand soap and lotion on the wall dispensers in the bathroom which was a first, i haye the tiny stuoid bath bars so liquid hand soap was nice. Shuttle was on time and efficient to and from the airport.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
Good spot and decent clean rooms
- 1/5
Room was dirty, bathroom was beat up. Carpet looked like you could catch something by walking on it. Staff unfriendly and seem not to care.
- 5/5
Easy process and to learn about the airport shuttle
- 5/5
Room was clean, shuttle was easy to find at airport. Driver was so nice. Staff at front desk were happy and friendly. The restaurant OMalleys was so good and the bartender/waitress could not have been more accommodating. I would def go back!!
- 5/5
Everything was great thanked you for your services.
- 5/5
All good. Quiet and clean
- 3/5
Fix the elevators!
- 2/5
Elevator was broken. Staff minimally hepful
- 4/5
to everything slowly.
- 3/5
Everything about this hotel was great, just the staff tend to knock on the doors too much, please let’s not do that when check out is happening since we know it’s at a certain time we know already no need to be reminded by knocking on the doors abruptly
- 3/5
Shuttle was good to airport. Bed was comfortable and clean.
- 3/5
The cleaning staff walking in on us three times without knocking. Did not appreciate that. I reported it to the front desk. Did nothing
- 3/5
The bathuoom wasnt well maintained. The toilet did not flush and the faucet was loose. Unacceptable.
- 3/5
Parking for the property could be better. Paid for parking with the room and couldn’t find a spot to park. Ended up parking in another lot. Very inconvenient
- 3/5
Paid for parking and then couldn’t find any available parking, went to ask the young lady at the counter about it and her eyes and fingers never once left her phone and the information given was minimal.
- 3/5
Bar has full range of drinks available if you don’t mind paying a lot for a 2 shot drink.
- 5/5
Room was clean, fridge, microwave, comfy bed, quiet, just so easy to be comfortable. Guest services was so accommodating… plus shuttle back and forth from airport, SO CONVENIENT!!!
- 4/5
Friendly housekeeping. Check in host was nice. The evening hostess ....meh. Terrible garage for parking. There was no available spaces on any of the 4 levels and I (and a Nation Guardsman who was at the desk at the same time) were told to take a chance and park in the basement lot even though there was a chance to be towed - and was still charged full price for parking.
- 5/5
It was as expected. I was very satisfied.
- 5/5
Everything in general was as expected. Shuttle was prompt, and quick with door to door service.

- 4/5

- 3/5
The property was ok. The rooms and bathroom need to be upgraded. Probably won’t stay there again. Kind of pricey and you have to pay to park. As expensive as they are parking should be included or free. I loved the convenience of the rental car place being walking distance and the shuttle availability of the hotel and Avis.

- 5/5
This hotel is at a convenient location. Beautiful eateries are just behind it. Hotel amenities are great too, slightly aged. But overall an excellent pick.
- 3/5
Elevators were under “remodel” and took forever. On leaving I had to go down 8 floors of stairs because elevator wouldn’t work. Hotel is in decline.

- 4/5
Hotel is old a/c incredibly loud, impossible to sleep because goes off and on, but room was ok, without a/c on musty and dank; check in good, low cost and ok
- 5/5
No coffee in the hotel, otherwise no problems. Quiet, comfortable.
- 1/5
The hotel is showing condition issues. The smell of pot abounded - especially in the elevators. This is a very busy hotel for the airport, totally understand. It is what it is. Was staying there with my grandson who had no end to questions. LOL. Overall, I would not choose this property in the future.
- 4/5
My overall stay was very enjoyable. The property was well maintained, the room was comfortable, and most of the staff were excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The only reason I didn’t give a full five stars was due to my checkout experience. When I approached the front desk in the morning, it took quite a while for someone to come out from the back, and when they did, they seemed inconvenienced by assisting me. It was a small but noticeable contrast to the otherwise great service I experienced during my stay. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and I would gladly return.

Great spot, very convenient if you're flying out of DCA. It's clean, the staff is nice, there's a little hotel bar/restaurant. Easy access to DC. Checks a lot of boxes
- 5/5
Went for a conference and stayed longer to see Washington DC. Had an excellent stay. Staff was great. Excellent service, very clean. Breakfast was good (a little pricey) but good. I would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
I was locked out of room before check out because of dead battery in lock. Hotel offered me breakfast instead of giving me my room for free.
- 4/5
The location is perfect, but the installations need an upgrade
- 2/5
The front lady also didn't tell us about parking or breakfast, didn't give breakfast tickets, and was just in a bad mood, which is fine but do your minimum work requirements.
- 1/5
Bugs in bathroom. Dust everywhere.

Elevator didn’t work
- 3/5
Location is very convenient. Appreciate the shuttle service to the airport. The service is excellent! Rooms need to be upgraded.

- 5/5
I called front desk to ask for coffee cups and to replace my coffee pot, told me that housekeeping would replace, but this never happened.
- 2/5
We had misinformation from the staff on the airport shuttle and how frequently it ran. The elevator situation was very frustrating and time consuming; we ended up on various floors or stay on one floor and the door would repeatedly open and close. We had to move rooms due to a leaking shower and incredibly dirty towels and sheets. The new room also had dirty towels and there weren’t any clean hand towels to replace them. We requested clean body towels that were going to be brought up, and it took 40 minutes until we went down to get them ourselves. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and would not return based on our experience.
- 4/5
Elevator very slow!!
- 5/5
The room is big, The lobby and breakfast area is big and comfortable.
- 4/5
Close to the airport
- 5/5
Me encanto en lugar ,,sus empleados muy amables ,yo no hablo y ingles y tenian personal en español....el servicio de transporte son muy amables gracias volveria
- 3/5
Parking is $38 nightly but gets full and if you have to park in the basement it smells like there's a dead animal there! Only 1 elevator works it takes forever and it's janky. Twisted toilet, rooms can use updating!
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay and convience of restaurants on site. However, lack of full bank of elevators was not good. I'm disabled and standing for long waits at times was not pleasant.
- 4/5
THE HOTEL WAS GENERALLY QUIET, THE ELEVATOR WAS BEING REPAIRED SO LONG WAIT TIMES. WE EVEN HAD TO USE THE STAIRS WAITING SO LONG, BUT HOTEL IN CONVENIENT AREA. CLOSE TO MALL, AIRPORT, PLENTY OF RESTURANTS, EVDN CLOSE TO SUBWAY TRAINS.
- 5/5
Close to the mall, airport and car rental. Great location!

The stay itself was fine, but the handling of the deposit is unacceptable. Guests should not have to chase after their own money after following all check-out procedures. The lack of timely communication and delay in refunding creates unnecessary stress and leaves a very negative impression. I cannot recommend this property until they improve their management of deposit refunds. Travelers deserve better reliability and transparency.
- 5/5
It was easy to different stores.
- 5/5
It was great
- 1/5
No laundry service
- 2/5
The shuttle staff - Great The front desk staff - Great The facilities? Room was dirty. Big hair ball in trash, hair on floor in bathroom. Elevators not working (waited over 7 min for elevator). No pool No free water in room No free water in lobby Expensive parking (but that's DC) Overall, I would not stay here again.
- 3/5
Be aware of the elevator. Long, wait time to get on the elevator.
- 3/5
Parking spots were limited. I was charged a little bit more than what I was told. There was Marijuana smell in the aisle.

The two towels in the room were dirty. One had pieces if hair embedded in it and the other had dirt spots throughout. I noticed when coming out of the shower so I ended up having to use one of them to lightly dry off so I could go to the desk to ask for clean ones. There is an intermittent knocking sound that began around 6am.

- 4/5
A perfectly comfortable stay close to the airport. The complimentary shuttle was much appreciated.
- 5/5
This is our second time staying at this hotel. O’Malleys particularly has become our favourite the staff there especially the bartender is awesome. We came a few months ago to pick up our daughter from college and this time we was dropping her back off. It’s in a great location by the airport and there are restaurants and shopping around the area. Good place to stay when you come to the DMV area.
- 4/5
I liked the room and how close it was to the airport. The beds are really comfortable and nice view. The tub was getting clogged and the water was extremely hot, no cold water. We asked them to fix it but it got hotter. We also lost an AirPod there and I called 3 times and there seemed to be no process for lost and found items.
- 2/5
Immediately walking in the lobby smelled of marijuana. The parking garage elevators were accessible to anyone with the lock not requiring your room card. The bathroom was left with pubic hairs in the bath/shower.

Elevators are being updated. Sometimes there was a 10-20 minute wait.

In addition to being clean and hospitable, the hotel was also conveniently located near restaurants.

I got bites all over my body, that I think are from bed bugs. my arms, back, legs and hands. Parking was $40.00 and there was free street parking for the weekend that no one informed you of. There were no cups in the room and online it said there was $10 breakfast but when there they only promoted $22 plus tax breakfast. The whole experience felt like a money grab. My skin is now swollen and itchy.

For the good part of the review. The location is fine. Metro is only a 20 min walk. Youre very near nationals park and the mall Good choices on dining options in the area. The parking situation is ridiculous. They charge you 38.00 a night for parking once you check in and in addition they charged another fee when i was leaving the hotel garage. I would think the hotel parking would be

Do not stay here, I paid for two rooms for two nights each. When my son arrived later in the evening. They charged him for the two nights even though i paid for his room along with mine. I had to go and argue with the staff at the front desk before he was refunded his money back to his credit card. No apology and no accountability on their part. Thankfully I found out or they would have kept his money as well as mine. We didn't stay the second night by the way. Pitiful

Had to pay the parking and taxes separately which i was not expecting. I thought i had it all paid upfront. And also if you have a hotel room the parking should be free.

Convenient if you are using DCA Reagan airport. The place is outdated and needs to be renovated. Breakfast was fairly good but rooms are really ugly and outdated.

I had an unexpected lay over in Reagan airport so glad there was a room at the Holiday Inn and it was sufficient for these needs . Thanks for having a room available.

This property was perfect for my solo trip. Clean, quiet, & comfortable plus it was in a convenient location

It is not a place i would want to stay in ever again, period

The desk, bed, TV, and such were spotless in my room, but there was a bulb in the left side bedside table lamp that kept flickering, and what looked like old snot or (hopefully not) blood on the outside of the toilet paper roll? Also the showerhead pressure was kind of bad, but the temperature itself was consistent and very easy to get just as hot or cold as you'd like—also, the haircare and soap dispensers were a very nice touch even if they hadn't been refilled (though none of them were empty) and made it much more convenient to shower. May steal that idea for home honestly.

2 of 3 Elevators were broken so it made for longer waits but otherwise it was good service and airport shuttle service. Quick access to airport and friendly drivers helped.
- 5/5
Close to the airport. They offer free transportation to and from it. Quick check in and out.
- 4/5
Good staff running on perfectly serviceable facilities.

Upon checking in, only 1 of 3 elevators were working. Once in room, room had a terrible musty odor. Mold on bathroom floor. TV would not turn on, however, maintenance was prompt and fixed timely. Thankfully we were only here for one night due to a canceled flight. I would not have stayed here if we were staying more than overnight. I was pretty surprised because the reviews I read online prior did not indicate any of the above.

Our flight was delayed so we had to book one night at a hotel. This one was close to the airport so we decided to stay. Check in was quick and easy, the staff were helpful and kind, and we had a little later checkout which was perfect. They also had an airport shuttle which was convenient.

Bathrooms and room are not at the same level, entering the bathroom is a bit of a let down compared to the room

It was so hard to find parking spot even I paid for it. They have 11 floors but only one was working. People were filling up infront of the elevator but front desk people didn't say or do anything not until people got mad.Breakfast buffet is overpriced for just an addition of eggs and bacon for a full price. The aircon was too noisy couldn't even sleep. Housekeeping was so lazy to refill supplies which wasnt even filled when we got there. Towels never replaced, we had to get it ourselves. Every morning lobby smells like cheap perfume.
