our room that night and again at 2 AM in the morning we were told no other rooms were available. We were moved to another room the following day. As well as heard quest in nearby rooms complain of the same. The outside parking lot as well as the side entrance is in need of repair. There are multiple potholes. The side entrance, the stairs are cracked and there is no side railing other than the one coming up the steps. If someone was to lose their balance, there is nothing to stop them from falling a good 3 feet off to the side. Both the parking lot and side entrance is an accident waiting to happen. Bar area had people (not hotel guest) just hanging out on the couches watching a game. No drinks in their hands just hanging out. Several guests did question this since they were loud and obnoxious. The last time I stayed here the hotel was so much nicer cleaner and safe. This would not be a recommend Hotel. As a retired Hotel Reviewer, I would definitely fail this Hotel.

Love this hotel and will be back! Clean and friendly! Only things I wish they had was a place to do laundry in the building and a microwave in the room but neither of those things will stop me from staying here when I am visiting Chicago!
- 5/5
Staff was mostly friendly. The balcony was nice.
- 3/5
I was surprised how vintage the room felt for it being a Double Tree by Hilton. Online (via orbitz) said it came with complementary breakfast but I was charged for it. One of the few things I enjoyed was the TV. It had an option to connect my personal Youtube and Netflix accounts (most hotels just provide local news channels).
- 5/5
Very good
- 2/5
Staff was not helpful, it seems the overall attitude of everyone at Front Desk was “I’m doing you a favor”. Shuttle to Airport is only every 2 hours and not available later at night. Breakfast only available for purchase, and that’s okay, but it wasn’t clear during the search or reservation process.
- 3/5
I will say this. The hotel, the room, the amenities were definitely 4 to 5 star easily. Thw front desk staff member who checked me in my first night which was Tuesday May 26, 2026 around 4pm to 5pm. She was amazing. Along with the shuttle driver Rocko. Outstanding. After that day, the front desk staff was the worst. The daytime lady had attitude for days. She wasn't very helpful. She seemed disinterested in communicating. Then there was a different women at night from the 1st lady I dealt with. She I believe was Asian. Attitude was crazy. I ask for a cookie, and she seem like she was reluctant to give it to me. They need retraining on communicating with the occupants. Attitude adjustments. Arturo who was our shuttle driver when we left was great also. Also the building lost power twice while we stayed there. I will not be returning there. My recommendation. Train staff using the book "Inside the magic kingdom" by Tom Connellan. And last but not least, the shuttle schedule needs to be revamped and more frequent.

This is an older hotel with nice cosmetic updates and clean spaces. The exercise room has nice free weights and all that is needed to get a good workout, including treadmills and other machines, although the elliptical machine wasn't working this morning. The complimentary morning coffee was good and smooth. The front desk has helpful staff and there is a restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner. For interest, beds are soft (always too soft for me, but many like it that way) and baths have complimentary soaps and shampoo. Water pressure was good. Elevator is slow! I enjoyed the patio that seems to be forgotten and not advertised. My daughter enjoyed the indoor pool for a few short laps.

It’s a comfortable place but there was a big ball of hair(?) floating across the bathroom floor.
- 2/5
Everyone who worked there was very nice. But we had issues with our toilet, so had to move room. Also their main elevator, one was out, and the other went out in middle of night. Very accommodating to our issues, but still issues
- 2/5
Staff wasn’t helpful or very friendly. We had a contract for a meeting room and agreed to extended hours past 10pm that weren’t honored. There was no microwave in our room, which with 3 kids was a huge burden. The hotel is run down and the cleanliness was lacking. There was a strong odor of marijuana at the entry door. 2 elevators in the hotel worked and both were incredibly slow. Overall, this was not a hotel I was sad to leave and not a hotel I would visit again.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean. It was quiet and in a great location.

The POOL WAS NOT ENJOYABLE IT WAS DIRTY FULL OF HAIR
- 3/5
Breakfast is $20/person. They didn't say anything about a charge upon check in and there is no signage when going into the breakfast area. They sat us at a table and then asked for a voucher…it was humiliating. Our rooms phone didnt work, and the handle was broken to the door. Disappointed for the money paid here.
- 5/5
Bed was super comfortable.
- 4/5
Nice hotel overall. The shuttle only runs from 7am until 9pm. Should have been listed before we booked the hotel. Ended up paying an extra $100 in Uber for an advertized "free shuttle".
- 3/5
The airport shuttle is very infrequent with much misinformation.
- 3/5
The hotel website said it had 24/7 shuttle service but it only runs from 7 to 9 PM. There wasn’t any hot water available so in order to make tea I had to use several trips to the microwave on another floor. Did appreciate the hand sanitizers at the elevator on the main floor. No towel bars in the bathroom for wet towels.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable room. Great location and reasonably priced for the area. Great staff. Will stay here again

- 1/5
Vending not filled, not working. Plumbing issue, hall water everywhere. Poor lighting in room.
- 1/5
Furthermore, its dark, dinghy, out dated looking, terrible lighting everywhere. Carpets old, and run down walls peeling. Not a good look at all. Front desk agent didn't offer any apologies or compensation. No free breakfast, meal, uprgrade. Zilch! Also there shuttle buses are full of rust, and look weathered, terrible representation- BUT it matches the inside, so i guess it works for them. Will NEVER see you guys! hopefully your in the selling process, and someone else will bring it back to life. Super Disappointing Doubletree!!! Do better.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. Upon arriving, the property outside was well kept and looked nice. The front desk clerk was friendly and welcoming. I loved my room especially the bathroom setup, very cozy. I will definitely stay here again. I know for the future bookings to ask for a room with a refrigerator. There are no microwaves in any of the rooms.
- 3/5
The front desk clerk was amazing she made sure I got what I wanted. They had me on the second floor when I requested the 4th floor. She did us one even better. We only went there for the pool and the big tub for my son . The jacuzzi part in the tub did not work. The pool was super cold due to it being shut down and no one told us about it. She extended our check out time so my son could enjoy more time in the pool. I wish I had her name but she made the stay much better for us

Comfortable rooms. Pool was closed for maintenance until the last day (but no discount?), the day we could use it the pool area was freezing cold! The bar had no draft beers or drinks due to broken equipment (we heard it had been broken for several weeks!). They offer a happy hour on draft beers (but no discounts on bottles despite not having any draft beer for the entire stay!) The bar is unbelieveably under staffed, often only one person, sometimes two. Which is crazy when hotel is full for a conference. Often took 20-30 minutes to get served! Lunch was organised for the conference attendees. Very lacking in vegetarian options. Those tended to run out early. They couldn't cater for the number of people. The last day they even ran out of fries! They substituted chips (to go with burgers - a joke!) Sunday nights the bar shuts before 9:00 pm - a virtually full hotel that couldn't then get a drink, we all had to get Uber eats to purchase alcohol to have drinks in the foyer! A potentially good hotel, but so badly run!!!!

- 4/5
Room was great hostess seemed as if she was aggravated or didn’t want to be at work!
- 1/5
Even though we gave clear and valid reasons why we had to postpone our reservation, they would not allow us to reschedule to the following weekend. They also refused to give us a voucher or refund. Complete lack of understanding and flexibility towards guests.
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the staff was courteous.
- 1/5
At that point, there was no way I was going back to sleep, so I decided to get ready for my day. 30 minutes later, they came back to my door. I opened it (with the top latch still locked) and said "can I help you with something?" and this man simply asked "we're just wondering when you're planning on leaving", to which I replied "I don't know". Their check-out time is 12pm, so it's absolutely ridiculous of them to torment me at 7 in the morning wondering when I am leaving. 2 star rating is solely because the shower is one of the best showers I've ever had in a hotel. Awful, awful service, especially for solo female travellers!

Nice clean rooms easy check in and allowed parking for our flight
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. The room was nice except for the water damage in the ceiling (this is a worry for mold) and a rip in the curtain which makes me wonder how detailed they are in keeping the rooms updated and safe. The location was excellent and we saw lots or airline staff staying there as it’s convenient to the airport,
- 4/5
Great staff when we walked around.
- 1/5
The staff at night time is very rude, they do not know how to treat their guest, they said that we can't bring food from outside, the carpet needs a really good cleaning.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was wonderful, room was spotless. Though, we did think they had a 24 hour airport shuttle, but that may have been our mistake.
- 5/5
Nice clean facility
- 5/5
It required a bit of a walk to reach terminal 2 for the pick-up from terminal 1. The driver was incredibly friendly, truly one of the best pick-ups I've ever experienced, and the front desk staff were equally wonderful. She even called to remind me the time bus leave for ORD in the morning. The room was very clean and spacious. It's definitely a great place for an overnight stay to catch a flight the next morning at ORD. Will definitely be back!!!

The was probably the nastiest hotel room ever. There were other peoples hair in between the blankets. So I went to inspect the pillows and there were long pieces of hairs, short hair, and it seemed like none of it was changed or replaced. It also smelled musty. STAY AWAY
- 5/5
My husband and I visited Chicago and stayed here. It was wonderful. The staff, the room, the cookies! 😏
- 5/5
Room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. They always have excellent customer service. Easy check in and warm cookies were nice. I just regret not being able to try the breakfast. I had to leave early due to a family matter.

My work was in the proximity and thus used this property, else would have not stayed there.
- 5/5
Mary at the front desk is a bright light in this world!
- 5/5
Love the rooms
- 3/5
If you wanted a coffee outside of breakfast hours, good luck. That would involve a walk to your room to use the coffee machine. Madness. Some of the rooms had fridges, some didn't. (Guess which one I ended up in) And flushing the commode took 3 tries every single time. I was at a conference, and others had the same experience, so this wasn't unique to my room. The staff, for the most part, were pleasant, and the room and hotel in general were clean but there's some room for improvement for sure.
- 5/5
El cuarto era perfecto para una pareja, excelente vista y muy limpio.
- 2/5
Higher price than other hotels in area. On quiet nights bar & restaurant had 2 servers. On busy nights (hotel sold out for conference) , 1 staff member. Took 20 minutes to get served on average Happy hour, $5 draft beers. Compresser for beer pumps broken for 5 weeks! Price of a bottle seemed to vary by up to $2 depending on who was working. Bar shut early. 9:00pm on Sunday despite a huge conference. Attendees had to get drinks via Uber and use lobby. Hotel lost a fortune on alcohol sales due to no staff and short hours! Lunch was pre ordered for set no of people. Still ran out of fries half way through and substituted potato chips! Little veggie options. Pool closed for maintenance for most of stay. Net curtain in room was missing (hooks and pull system were in place, just no curtains!) Had similar staffing (and opening) issues for conference last year. Management obviously inept and don’t learn. Place looking a bit tired. Looks like not willing to spend money on staff or maintenance! Can no longer really justify the cost of staying here as opposed to cheaper options in the area.

Staff was not friendly, no microwave in the room. The location is very close to the toll way. Clottollway.

This is important to people that want to stay here to know: there is no room service! I called the room service number from my room and the guy operating the restaurant answered, and said they haven’t had room service at the hotel since Covid. However, my partner and I were able to call the restaurant over the phone, place an order and then go pick it up from downstairs and pay there and bring it back to the room. Also it seemed like the restaurant was understaffed and we had to wait for the guy we spoke to on the phone to come out to give us our food. However, this was basically the only issue my partner and I experienced at this hotel. Besides this, our Room was very clean, bed and pillows were clean and very comfortable. Check in lady at desk could have been friendlier/better at answering questions but wasn’t a huge deal. The pool was very nice. We overall had a great time in a weekend getaway. Just wanted to make sure others know about the no room service thing and that you have to order from the restaurant (still click “room service” on room phone) and then go and pick it up from there.

Parking lot
- 1/5
The front desk support was so so. I walked in and the lady said, I’ll get right to you. Then she pushed me off to another guy didn’t like that at all. I’ve been coming to this particular Hilton property for 15+ years, cause my mother lives in the area. The property has got run down the back parking lot scary. landscaping needs to be done more frequently. I would tell you if you have the money which I know you do you need to remodel your entire hotel because it looks dated. The carpet is dirty and dingy the bathrooms look like they’re from Europe. The toilets are made for short people who are 2 foot tall. I’m a tall man and there’s a very difficult to get on the toilet seat and get up because they are so low. I will never be stay at this overpriced facility again. I come back-and-forth to Arlington Heights to visit family. I used to be one of the highest tier members of the Hilton because it was always clean consistent but this particular property has been rundown. I went to the bar on Saturday night. The bartender had a personality of a door knob. He charged me $16 for a drink that my companion didn’t want because it was so horribly made. spend the money to remodel your Birch River or Birch Café. It needs it get rid of that furniture - dated. We went at 8 o’clock at night, place was empty. Do better Doubletree Arlington Heights.

Hotel was very clean... great location
- 5/5
Great, quiet stay. Large, clean room.
- 5/5
It was a good stay, unfortunately I think because the lights are so bright it brought in a lot of mosquitoes so myself and my family were swatting away mosquitoes in the lobby as we sat to talk, in all fairness is not necessarily the hotel’s fault, but it was probably the type of lightbulb that drew them because they were very bright at night.
- 5/5
Property furniture just looked a little old
- 1/5
The worst service I have ever received at a hotel I only stayed there because I had an early flight and they had a shuttle which I couldn’t use to get to my flight and then upon returning I was told I would need to wait an hour and a half to get a return shuttle. The hotel was in about the same state of a motel six. This hotel should not be called a double tree it should be called a super 8.

Staff is not Friendly

Very enjoyable stay

Rooms 3 star: rooms were clean but carpet and furniture could use an update. My view 1 star for a rusty roof view. Fridge was smaller compared to the other rooms booked in my party. Having a microwave would have made it so much more convenient. Staffing was most excellent from front desk to room service. Thank you for our stay
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Couldn’t of been a better stay
- 5/5
All Fantastic.
- 4/5
The hotel is clean and comfortable, front desk staff was helpful and nice. The airport shuttle driver is not customer focused and not nice talking to the front desk in front of customers. Also unpleasant talking about guest. If you don’t need the shuttle, nice hotel.
- 3/5
Not very attentive staff. I called to the lobby on two occasions without an answer. On the night of my check in there wasn’t anyone at the front desk when I walked in. Our bed was squeaky. Every toss and turn was announced. Several public areas were very very warm and the elevators were beyond slow. It got to the point I would automatically use the stairs.
- 1/5
In talk with corporate Hilton. Fire alarm went off twice due to "faulty mechanics" due to a storm. The alarm went off hours before the storm and hours after. I have a service animal, the alarms and emergency situation made the stay very difficult and unpleasant.

I was promised a 24h shuttle service… which ended at 22h00, and I arrived at 0200, then I had to take and pay a UBER for 35 dollars. The next morning, I expected a shuttle service.. and there was one at 0800 or 0930 which meant I had to take another taxi for our 10h40 flight. After a long and unpleasant discussion, the hotel rearranged a shuttle transfer at the right time. A lot of aggravation, the overall bill increase substantially, as this was only a layover and we slept a few hours… and promise not kept.
- 4/5
I’ve stayed at this location before and never had problems, but this time the hotel seemed very understaffed. Check in took more than twenty minutes. One of the elevators was out of service the whole stay. Other guests also complained about the lack of staff.
- 4/5
The suite we have each year: the furniture in the living area needs to be burned! It is past its prime! It is very worn, stained, damaged! Disgusting in fact!!! Next year, we hope it will be renovated. I hate to say this but if it is not changed we will not return.
- 2/5
Some rooms do not have Internet connection. This is not good for the business travelers. Also, the check-in counter is always crowded. Need more staff.
- 5/5
It was a great place to stay.
- 3/5
Front desk lady was so rude. Flood floor and they changed room but no refrigerator on the 2nd room. Maintenance guy was friendly and nice.
- 5/5
Hotel was well cleaned for its age, but was definitely aging. Some of the front desk staff was less than pleasant, but not everyone.

Now I’ve got a $200 charge still pending on my bank account, no correction, no explanation, and no accountability. I asked three different employees about their incidental policy and got three different answers. No one knew what the actual charge was supposed to be — complete chaos. To top it off, when I checked out at 3:00 AM and asked for a printed receipt, I was told they “couldn’t provide one because I booked through Hotels.com.” That’s just a flat-out lie — and an excuse to avoid giving any transparency. Apparently the new policy is if you book thru a 3rd party they are not able to print your itemized receipt, FYI I tried contacting the hotel manager took 3 days to respond and then tells me he doesn’t see the charge anywhere even though it’s still on my account! This place operates like a scam. Shady billing practices, conflicting information, and zero customer service. Travelers beware: if you don’t want to fight mystery charges and get ghosted by hotel staff, stay somewhere else. I’ll never book here again — and you shouldn’t either. I’m out $200 don’t let it happen to you, stay somewhere else!

However, the airport shuttle service was a major disappointment. It was unavailable both for our arrival and the following morning due to a large group reservation. The shuttle was a key reason we chose this hotel, despite its distance from the airport, so this was frustrating. Additionally, I had prepaid for breakfast through Expedia, but the restaurant staff couldn’t verify it and directed us to the front desk. Unfortunately, no one was available there to assist. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel with a lot to offer, but I wish the shuttle service were more reliably accessible to all guests, and that communication between the restaurant and front desk staff were more efficient.
- 4/5
Overall good customer service but management discriminates against customers using expedia and hotels.com
- 5/5
They have nice facilities and got me everything I needed and more. The room was definitely clean and has every amenity I needed besides a fridge and microwave.
- 4/5
Breakfast is good Very close to Mitsuwa japanese supermarket
- 5/5
Polite staff, nice location, clean rooms.
- 4/5
Great place, but the Expedia listing stated shuttle service from the airport, but no details. It ends at 10 pm, and with the significant issues at ORD due to the tram being closed, transportation added significant unknown costs to the trip.
- 3/5
Check in was great but there was never anyone around, or even at the desk. The Pool should be reported to the BOH, the filter was never on, the amount of hair and dirt was discusting. The carpet in the bedroom made my socks black. When you did speak to the FD (after 3) she had no knowledge of anything around or even the restaurant in the hotel. Just shrugged and said I don't know anything about that. She was dismissive and rude, even when asking if there is a local pizza place. Hours of the restaurant. Everytime I asked something she insisted on looking up my reservation and then made a face (I booked on Hotels.com; felt she treated me like a second hand citizen because of this and told me I wasn't entitled to the 2 free waters in the room that clearly say free on them because I didn't book direct and she'd have to charge me....insane...the hotel is not forced to use the site they choose to. I asked for an MOD 2x and was told there wasn't one. Waited at the desk 15 minutes for a clerk to arrive to be told "I don't know anything about the pool".

Much better than the location in Schaumburg. Amenities worked and dog friendly thank God. Will stay again next year.

The bar/restaurant the birch grill or whatever. Is absolutely terrible. Just Terrible. The hotel itself was Fantastic. But that bar is useless and expensive. The cheeseburger was terrible. Came just burger n cheese melted in the microwave on a bun mc Donald’s does better for less. 26$ I’ll never have back before a tip. Just terrible

Thank you! Pleasant stay!

The staff was very friendly, and I loved the cookie the front desk offered at check in and at night if I wanted.

Other than low water pressure this is a very nice place. I would stay there again

Good place to stay in.

This location met my expectations. However, it appears to need a renovation, as the room looked somewhat dated. By the way, I appreciated the complimentary coffee.

We stayed there for the airport shuttle and it only started at 7:10 a.m. our flight was at 8:30 so we had to Uber. 35 dollars for an Uber ride when we thought we were getting free airport shuttle.

Everything was taken care in a timely manner.

We had a wonderful stay!

There were areas of the hotel that seemed to not have air conditioning and it was over 90* this weekend. Our room was also 85* upon arrival.... I couldn't get the a/c on and there was a wall unit and a thermostat but maybe they weren't connected. The room wouldn't go below 75. The bed itself was comfortable, the pool was clean but out of towels but when I requested some at the front desk they were quick to get them. Our floor (4) smelled like a mixture of wet dog, urine and Chinese food. I was glad our room was just near the elevator so I didn't have to walk down it long. While the room was hot the refrigerator froze anything we put in it. We should have left the fridge door open to cool the room.

The room was dirty upon arrival . The bathroom especially. My friends room AC broke and front desk couldn’t help and claimed they didn’t have maintenance. Then the lady upon check in was so mean and very aggressive. This in my opinion is not a four star hotel maybe at max a 3.

Great location near the air port

It was a very nice hotel, the rooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly
- 3/5
The housekeeping staff were friendly and polite, which we really appreciated. However, two of the front desk staff were quite unfriendly and seemed unapproachable. Also, I asked for some hot water for my cup, but was told by the front desk that they don’t have any available, which was surprising for a hotel.

I really loved my stay at this strategically located hotel which is surrounded by a beautiful evergreen landscape. I was attending a college graduation ceremony nearby and also wanted to explore the city of Chicago. This hotel’s location facilitated all that and more. The rooms and facilities are amazing, clean, and you can easily relax without any disturbances. I recommend this hotel and their five stars menu which serves delicious meals. The staff is respectful and friendly. Many thanks to Double Tree Hilton Chicago, I appreciate your hospitality, I look forward to coming back soon when I visit again.

I later found out we need to call Arlington DoubleTree to book the shuttle, but the booking information in Expedia did not mention this.

One glaring issue was the unreliable airport shuttle service. It's not regular or reliable and can take up to 45-60 minutes to arrive once requested.

Worst experience ever. We were given a room missing bathroom towels and we didn’t notice until we needed to shower and when we walked in the iron and blow dryer were not where they were supposed to be stored so w the towel missing too we realized the room was not properly cleaned and organized which made me feel like the sheets were also likely not changed. Disgusting. Will never go back to this hotel again.

Service was amazing, the room was very nice with the shuttle to the airport.

Bed was firm, pillows were great. Nice size safe. Good fridge. They have a very nice bar area with good seating around a fireplace. It was nice to have a shuttle to the wedding venue.

The website stated that they provide shuttle service to from the airport. It does not state that it is only available at certain times and specific terminals. This was my primary reason for choosing the property. When i called, they informed me that the driver was unavailable. Because of the property's location, a cab was time and a half. It was nearly $50 for less then 10 miles.

I was expecting a jacuzzi inside the room as shown on the picture

Great stay.

Overall it's fine. Clean and comfortable. Heat/AC is pretty noisy, so I'm glad I could get by without it. The TV didn't have any streaming option, which wasn't a big deal for a one-night stay, but in 2025 maybe it's time to upgrade the technology.
