Beautiful place with comfortable bed and breakfast. Location is very convenient to the historical park. The bathroom really needs an exhaust fan or window that opens, the shower steam is causing the paint to peel badly.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and house. Staff was amazing and accommodating!
- 5/5
Great hospitality. We had a beautiful room upstairs. Very comfortable and we slept well.
- 5/5
Super clean, breakfast was good. We really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Very nice property. Quiet and classy. Very helpful staff. Terrific location. Wish we could have stayed longer!
- 4.5/5
The hostess, Dana, I believe, was so nice and welcoming. Plus her breakfast of french toast was well enjoyed. We stayed in the well decorated and ample carriage house surrounded by their lovely back yard. We were challenged to find the way to turn off the many lights in the Carriage House and we did not locate the ac/heat thermostat until the morning. Since it was set at 66 degrees it was too cold for us, and when we realized our dilemma we felt it was too late to call the hostess. Secondly the historical town looked deserted and in disrepair; no charming small restaurants to discover. We ate dinner at an Italian place, Pinos, located in a strip mall, pasta was good, chicken marsala a disappointment.

The staff are Fantastic and cater to you to make your stay extra special.
- 5/5
My stay was absolutely wonderful! Dana was so sweet and welcoming. The historic and homey atmosphere is very enjoyable. The coffee and breakfast was such a nice treat to add to the perfect stay. I will definitely be back!

- 5/5
Everything about this property and my stay were perfect. The home is as quaint as it could be and the owner was extra friendly.
- 5/5
Extremely charming and cozy. TV difficult to figure out.
- 4/5
Ambiance. Outdoors. Need a shelf in the bathroom. Cushions on the feet of the dining room chairs. At 11 at night when someone decided to sit there and pull back the chair, it woke us up due to the proximity of our room. Then after a while they shoved the chair back in and the noise woke us up.
- 5/5
Beautifully restored b&b. Makes you feel like being in a very historical place.

A back-in-the-day B&B experience! All the style and charm! Each room different, mine was up a winding staircase! Would recommend for an unusual stay!
- 4/5
The room was clean, and the staff was very accommodating
- 5/5
The host was super attentive and welcoming! The home was charming and comfortable. The property is beautiful!
- 4.5/5
The only downside for me was the pillows. They were not as comfortable as I had expected.
- 5/5
Amazing experience at this spot!
- 5/5
Romantic No shower
- 5/5
This place is beautiful and warm. The hosts are friendly and responsive. We watched a movie in the large living room as a family - very comfy!
- 5/5
Every detail , decor and amenity was above and beyond. We stayed one night , but we will definitely be back. The Magnolia room was pure heaven. It was like out of a movie. A private entrance with a garden view , birds chirping, landscaping was perfection and the ease of check in was lovely. Nothing. Every detail was carefully thought and executed. The ease of check in and out. Breakfast was delicious and privacy was great. Amenities and special touches were a treat.
- 5/5
This is a lovely B&B filled with interesting antiques and artifacts. It’s is very comfortable inside and outside. It was convenient to the historic areas that we were visiting.
- 5/5
Nice scenic spot in a small town to take a break from the coldness of a chain hotel. Owners were super responsive to questions. Instructions for access were clear and thorough. Wish I could have stayed longer!
- 5/5
Longacre is a beautiful property with old world charm. Sitting and sipping tea in its lovely parlor, we felt transported to a bygone era. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Extremely friendly staff, clean comfortable place to stay
- 5/5
Everything was perfect the rooms are beautifully decorated, breakfast amazing and Dana the host was on in top of everything Nothing bad
- 4.5/5
I loved the king sized bed that was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was simple but filling. The room was spacious which was nice. I loved the multiple seating options. The bathroom was spacious, as well. There was plenty of storage available which was an added plus. I loved the removable handheld shower head. We cannot wait to visit next year. I know that it will be hard to install because of the age of the house, but it would have been nice to have a handrail for the stairs to the bathroom, and at least one grab bar for the shower. I would of liked a simple desk chair at the desk in the room.
- 5/5
Old fashioned, cozy decor blended well with the history of the property.
- 5/5
Dana great host great beds, rooms are huge living areas and outside gardens breakfast amazing thanks fir making our family reunion so special nothing
- 5/5
We stayed for three nights in the Carriage House which was so spacious and very comfortable. It had a cabin feel and the garden around it is beautiful. We had breakfast one morning, coffee was fresh, orange juice, pancakes, muffins, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruits, oatmeal, cereal and other things. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect for us as it is in the historic center of Appomattox, away from the heavier traffic of Lynchburg. Easy drive to:/from Liberty University. We will return for sure.
- 5/5
This B&B surprised me with how adorable it is! We had the suite, which was huge and comfy. Check in was a breeze, continental breakfast was nice, and the house & grounds itself is beautiful.
- 5/5
Beautiful house furnishings. Gorgeous house.
- 5/5
This historic house is quirky and wonderful. Very well maintained and very large spaces for guests.
- 3/5
The property was stunning. However, i would not consider tbis property a B&B. I called the owners multiple times and never recieved a phone call back. When I texted about an emergent situation it took hours to hear back. When I think of a B&B i expect to meet the host, at least at breakfast. However we never saw or heard them at all. My daughter was actually so freaked out about the whole situation she slept wifh the lights on and asked if the place was run by ghosts or fairies. So while the place ia stunning the customer service and relationship portion that truly make a B&B a B&B were completely lacking.
- 5/5
Amazing B and B where the kids and I enjoyed a night. First time kids had gone to one and they're all about B and Bs now. Great stay and if in the area again will definitely revisit.
- 5/5
Beautiful brick building with parkland grounds and a garden. Charming hosts too
- 5/5
The breakfast was lovely.
- 5/5
I dont know how I found this bed and breakfast on hotels.com but I'm so glad I did. It is a beautiful, historic home in a town already full of history. Lovely, themed rooms, beautiful outside gardens, and access to the common living spaces. We got an excellent breakfast in the morning as well. I would love to come back some day.
- 4/5
Very cool bed and breakfast. The owners were very friendly! We stayed in the Maple room and it was beautiful! Very private and non invasive. Super cool historic home!
- 5/5
Unique house friendly owner and service
- 5/5
Loved my stay! Tammy was an excellent hostess - very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were delicious. Quiet and comfortable home.
- 5/5
My second visit. Will eeturn
- 5/5
The Longacre property is a lovely converted parish house with a beautiful garden. We enjoyed our room and the common areas. Also liked talking with the other guests at breakfast.
- 5/5
Very comfortable, super easy check in and check out. The grounds were lovely and I see they do a number of weddings and events on the spacious gardens.
- 5/5
Absolutely perfect. They texted a day in advance to make sure we were coming. Left a note on the door for us for check in. Very courteous staff made pancakes in the morning. quiet comfortable, relaxing, safe, clean... zero negatives.
- 5/5
Quiet, clean, unique B&B. Owners are exceptional hosts!
- 5/5
Owners very kind & compassionate
- 5/5
Great historic home and furnishings. Very clean. Outdoor patio with garden. Close to historic sites.
- 3/5
The room was nicely furnished. There was no shampoo/conditioner or lotion. The bathroom was a little dusty and the bathtub didn’t drain. The breakfast side of the B And B was limited. The furnishings Throughout the property are pleasant. The grounds are pretty. The staff Is very nice.
- 5/5
This is our second stay here , and will be our go to place when in Appomattox !

After you look below its fragile facade, you will see the dilapidation slowly eating away at this once beautiful Tudor home. The pictures for advertisements must be at least 10 years old. See our recent photos. The front stairs are collapsing. Paint is peeling from window sills, walls, and common areas. The cracked ceilings, windows, shades, tiles, mirrors, and flooring clearly demonstrate the owner no longer cares about upkeep. The toilet seat is not set right. The other patron exclaimed the gardens "have gone to (cuss word)" There is dirt and grime all over the walls, stairs, and doors. You can't miss the dust and dead bugs on many surfaces. Our linens were still soiled from the prior customer (thankfully we had a CLEAN spare set in our camping gear). The chairs also had indescribable staining on them. The decor is extremely outdated, threadbare, and cheap. The bathroom was borderline deplorable. For breakfast, we found a hair in the syrup and mold on the blueberries. This BnB is more akin for high schoolers looking for what they would consider a fancy room after prom. The staff was very nice though.
- 5/5
Amazing fifth stay at Longacre! Extra helpful staff, scented soaps that make the room feel special, always clean, and tasty breakfast options. I love this place especially in seasons I can be out in the gardens. These details matter!
- 5/5
Everything was very nice. Great place to stay in Appomattox.
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Property was quaint, interesting and right up my alley 👍
- 5/5
We were in town to see relatives and this adorable B&B met our needs so nicely. The hostess was kind and welcoming. Tasty breakfast each morning. If we’re in town, we would absolutely stay here again.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at Longacre. After a slight hiccough in getting our access code everything met or exceeded our expectations.
- 5/5
This was an absolutely beautiful home. Clean and charming in every way. We loved it!
- 5/5
Our hosts at Longacre of Appomattox were friendly and accommodating. It was nice to feel like we were staying at our “ home away from home.”
- 5/5
Loved the history and the grounds were magical
- 4/5
The property was great. More low-carb options or protein options at breakfast would have been appreciated.
- 5/5
Charming location, peaceful experience, awesome communication from the host. We shall surely return for another visit!
- 5/5
Nice place. Friendly, clean, quaint.
- 5/5
This is a great place! It has such a nice homey feel to it with the decor. There was a couple different sitting rooms if you have people you want to visit with. The breakfast room was right outside my room so that was my only downside due to the noise. They also have a nice little courtyard if the weather is good. I was especially happy that they had games available to play.
- 5/5
Out stay was fantastic! It was a pleasant stay and find, Dana was a fantastic host! We really appreciate the hospitality and kindness
- 5/5
The owners were kind, present, and unobtrusive. Prefect really.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint B&b. We met Dana at breakfast. The home was cozy and quiet. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Very comfortable for our family. The town nearby was within walking distance. Nice coffee shop and the railyard was open and yummy. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very nice Thanksgiving weekend stay!
- 5/5
Beautiful old house. Decorated beautifully for the Christmas holiday. Dana and Tara were great hosts!
- 5/5
Quaint old house lovingly tended. Beautiful grounds and close to the historic downtown.
- 5/5
Charming describes this location, great staff, very welcoming.
- 2/5
I just looked back at other reviews for this property on Hotels.com and I just don't understand why we had such a different reaction, but here goes: On arrival (maybe 5:30 PM) there was no one at the property. (We only saw one of the proprietors for a couple of minutes the next morning.) Our room was on the second floor, so obviously a climb - expected in a B&B. What we didn't expect was that we had to access the attached bathroom by taking two oversized steps down. Our other major issue was the room temperature - freezing. Finally, the breakfast which is usually a highlight for a decent B&B was self-serve with the only hot item being pancakes which had become soggy, probably from moisture trapped in their covered pan. Bottom line: Interesting old house but for practical purposes I would never consider it.
- 5/5
We were delighted with our stay at Longacre. The rooms were beautiful, as were the grounds.
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable..clean. Breakfast was delicious. The only problem we had was getting up and down the stairs with a big suitcase.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful home and our room was wonderful!
- 5/5
Beautiful place. Lovely host. Comfortable beds, quiet and clean. Just a really pleasurable stay.
- 5/5
I found this place comforting and warm. They thought of everything when they developed the breakfast in the morning. They had Cereal, bagels, English muffins, jellies and butter, fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, orange and apple juice, milk. Then they served cooked food from the kitchen! My room was spacious and cozy and the bed had a wonderful mattress. I had Wi-Fi, satellite tv. It’s a charming place.
- 5/5
The house was beautiful and very comfortable. We were disappointed we didn’t get to meet the owners or other guests, seemed like we had the house to ourselves. It would be perfect for a group or family gathering. The breakfast French toast was the best I’ve ever had!
- 5/5
Very nice stay and beautiful home!
- 4/5
This was the best place I have ever stayed. Very beautiful and the staff is awesome! You literally feel at home. The history and beauty is incomparable!
- 5/5
Beautiful home in a lovely setting. The Magnolia Room was lovely with the backyard view.
- 4/5
If I had read the fine print, it was mentioned that there were stairs involved. It was a charming 1930s home, and only a block from a wonderful new and used bookstore and coffee shop.
- 5/5
Can’t give enough cudos to this well managed and sparkling clean B&B . Dont waste your time looking anywhere else in Appomattox Va !! Bruce & Theresa and Beans ❤️
- 5/5
Beautiful house, beautiful decor, very comfortable. A little rough climbing the spiral staircase. But these 3 old ladies made it and had a fun time doing it.
- 5/5
Great time. Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean. Breakfast delicious. Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely return!!
- 5/5
B &B 's we ever stayed in. Highly recommend it
- 5/5
A nice find. If you wish to begin your Civil War tours, might as well start where it all ended. Clean and quiet. Pet friendly. Our overnight stay was enjoyable, but it was only one night. The next day was a holiday so we didn't experience the 'breakfast' part, nor did we meet any staff while there, and this is the only reason why we did not give this selection the best rating, simply because we do not know. Would stay here again and this time for a bit longer.
- 5/5
It truly felt like a home away from home! The owners were so sweet and knowledgeable about the area, as well as super welcoming. The use of the home was super easy and convenient, and it was beautiful!
- 4/5
Wonderful clientele during my stay. Host was very nice. They really need to sort through their stock of towels, particularly washcloths. Mine was supposed to be white but turned gray when wet. That’s what happens when a lot of makeup and mascara is removed with a washcloth. After a while that stuff just clings to terry cloth and is very evident when the cloth is wet.
- 5/5
Beautiful home. Dana was very nice and welcoming. Great pancakes.
- 5/5
We stayed in the two bedroom suite which was fabulous. It was convenient, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was great— french toast. The stay was the best.
- 5/5
This home has so much beauty and charm! I felt like we stepped back in time from the moment we walked in the door. The historic details are so well preserved yet nothing lacked in modern amenities. The gardens framed by an expansive brick retaining wall are magical. The check-in process was great! We received a text message with the door code and instructions to check into our room. The process was so convenient and seamless. The home was so cozy and comfortable . We spent one evening sitting by the fire and playing board games. I felt right at home! Dana is very kind and attentive in the morning with breakfast. She attended to our every need. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast!! You will be so glad to stay here!
- 5/5
Hostess are wonderful and the place is a gem!
- 5/5
We had an amazing stay at Longacre. Our only regret is that our stay didn’t last longer. Longacre is beautiful, everything was made so hospitable for us, and we had a delicious blueberry pancake breakfast awaiting us in the morning. There is no doubt we will return - the next time, for a much longer stay!
- 5/5
This was our first experience at a B&B and it was fabulous! Hostess was welcoming and very helpful with places to eat and things to do! Charming decor and rich history at every turn on the property! Will definitely return!
- 4/5
Only thing to improve would be being there in warmer weather to fully appreciate the property grounds.
- 5/5
Like going back in time to a grandeur period.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our night and there was a lot to do in the area. Host was great.

- 5/5
The B&B property was beautiful and inviting. Dana was very nice and always willing to make our stay welcome. The issue we had was that at times it was very hard to open the front door.
- 5/5
We had zero complaints and would highly reccomend a visit!

Very comfortable, plenty of room, nice breakfast, and even got to chat with the very pleasant owner who recommended a nice local restaurant for dinner.
- 5/5
Lots of TLC went into this B&B to keep it looking quaint and cozy yet with modern conveniences. Dana was warm and friendly and eager to meet our needs. Breakfast was light yet satisfactory and delicious. What a delightful weekend!
- 5/5
This is a huge home and grounds. It is all very beautiful and the owner was extremely gracious. We really enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
The room we stayed in was great for a family traveling together. There were three beds in our two room suite that also had a large bathroom. The house was in a great location for exploring the historic area.
