Candlewood Suites Apex Raleigh Area by IHG

First time staying at a Candlewood Suites. Associate that checked me in was very polite; asked if I wanted a lower or upper room. In the room, I like that they had a kitchen area. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. I would stay at a Candlewood Suites again.

There was a bug in the bed in my 1st room. I was moved to another room and there was a bug on the wall and in the bathroom. The room smelled bad. I sent pics to J who said he spoke to the manager, but I never received a reply from the manager.

We appreciated the dog walk area and waste station near the side door—very convenient to the stairs! Thank you for carpeting the stairs, also. (Our lab prefers carpet to hard surfaces.) The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare the dogs’ meals and have snacks ourselves.

As I checked in the staff member Mr. Henry was checking someone else in. His presentation was of the charts if I didn't want to stay there but by listening to how well he presented to the customer in front of me. I felt more than welcome and was like "yeah I am staying here". Mr. Henry was Awesome. Then when I checked out the black gentlemen (sorry didn't get his name) at desk that night, he was very helpful when checking out. These two staff members were great.

Jay was very pleasant at check-in. He made the process a breeze and was very nice and polite. Overall the experience was decent. However, the morning of checkout, housekeeping knocked on my door 3-4 times upon my checkout time. My checkout time wasn’t until 11am. I think the ladies wanted to come in and clean but felt as though they were trying to rush me along. I answered the door shortly after 8:30 for one lady informing her that I wasn’t ready yet and that checkout wasn’t until 11. She was sweet and apologized. An hour or so later someone else was knocking. Then there was another knock…. I found this to be a bit intrusive. I ended up checking out around 10:30am which I had originally planned. Front desk staff were great. Housekeeping staff wasn’t rude, persay, it was just the persistent manner of knocking that was annoying.

Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Room and bed were good, but chair furniture could use some updating. Only real issue with property is parking. If you come in after 8-9pm, there may not be a parking spot.

The suite was large, and comfortable. There were two rooms, one with a large bed and one with a sofa, TV and a working desk. There was also a small kitchen where we could cock our meals and eat. The hotel clean the room only after the guests leave or every 7 days for a long stay. Guests can ask for special cleaning.

Mr. Henry O. is Amazing! Upon arrival, he greeted us with a warm welcoming and made the check-in process, a smooth one. I was traveling with my elderly mother and Henry was attentive to our request for a suite close to the lobby.

The cook top would not turn on to heat water for tea.

My stay was wonderful, the room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. I didn't like the noise. Maybe it was because my room was on the first floor, so you could hear noise from outside and the apartment above

Stayed here for 15 days as I looked for a new house to relocate to the NC area. Staff is exceptional. Area and rooms are very clean. Located near plenty of stores. It is off a busy street so you do hear traffic and sirens. But that wasn’t an issue for me. Free laundry and gym make this place a great choice for short or long term stay. Small kitchen area with full refrigerator, pots, pans, dishes, utensils and a dishwasher. Oh also they have a cabinet in the lobby with items to borrow air fryer, crockpot and more. Definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area.

Excellent Service

We liked that the room had a kitchen, the bathroom was really nice and you had extra chairs. The only thing I didn't like was that I got a room with two double beds and wish I would have gotten one with two queens

Beautiful property, staff was great. Unfortunately there was a club or something next door that played loud music until almost midnight so be prepared to change rooms due to the noise if you cant ignore it.

Stay was amazing, stayed for 8 nights, had kitchen with all the needed appliances, ac was good, bathroom was good, room was clean, for those wondering, the TV did have hdmi port for those who want to put something on the big screen. The staff were extremely friendly and nice, all of them who worked there during our stay. Very great time staying there, only complains we’re, found 1 cockroach 1 night, and 1 day fire alarm went off firetruck came, someone said it happens regularly, but don’t know what that was about. Lots of places around to eat, easy parking. 10/10 would come here again

The service we received the entire weekend was great. The staff was friendly and personable. Rooms were clean and the if was quiet. I’d definitely stay again.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was nice, parking was easy and the rooms were clean for the most part. There were some spots missed and the bathroom floor could’ve been mopped a little better.

Upon arrival, I was charged $10 extra than the total. I wasn’t informed that if I needed extra towels/bedding that I would need to go to the front desk…I thought housekeeping was available daily. Also upon inspection of the room, there was a hole in the closet door which appears to be from someone opening the door to widely. The beds were a little too soft for my comfort which made it extremely difficult for me to sleep during the night. The room could’ve been a little more polished but honestly it wasn’t too bad at all.

Quick and quiet

The full kitchen (with utensils, etc.) in the rooms and Walmart in working distance complement each other and compensate for missing convenient pedestrian ways to the nearby plaza with a few (minimalistic) restaurants. The rooms are very good, clean, and equipped with fully functional devices.

Overall pretty good. Some of the dishes were still a little dirty. Beds are not super comfortable. I expected a little better for price of the room.

This was a modern and very clean hotel with a room loaded with everything I would need. This was a return visit for me and it was very good both times. I plan to stay there again next year.

Came here with my husband and we had an amazing experience. Hotel is very clean and the staff was always warm and welcoming. Absolutely loved the room and all the features it came with. Check in and check out was quick and easy. My only complaint is that our room smelled like cigarettes.

Helpful staff, allows pets and clean rooms. They changed the soap from JR Watkins to Dove products which I don’t like. Smoking is allowed right outside the entrance. you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get inside.

However, everytime entering the room - WHEW! Overwhelming deodorant smell (smoking coverup?). And that mattress - soft like a hammock!! Yellow mildew on the bathroom walls. We had others in their party and they all agreed. Sorry, but even though not a 5-star place, disappointed in the quality and cleanliness.

I love candle wood suites - always consistent and the beds are so comfortable

The staff were all very friendly and did their best to make sure we had a great experience. The location is great. The only thing I would suggest is adding luggage stands to the rooms. Nice recliner with a tray in front of it but the tray stand should have been on wheels. It was very difficult to move to get in/out of the chair.

It was a nice property. Only issues I had were the bathroom door lock didn’t work well and it took my a few tries to get the main door to open with my room key.

Was very nice room and beds were very comfortable; only negatives were that I needed to sweep up long hairs off the bathroom floor when first arrived (obviously missed cleaning the floor on last check out- rest of bathroom was clean) and a missing cabinet door in the kitchen area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they made me feel like they were glad to see me and were helpful on directions and information on my trip. The room was perfect. I would stay there again anytime.

The hotel is very nice and the rooms well appointed. The disapointment and reason for less than the highest rating is that there was no hot water in the morning. I tried the shower and it was not even lukewarm - waited 15 mins and tried again with no luck, so took a cold shower. However, about half an hour later it was hot. They probably don't have enough capacity for peak times. The area is OK, a couple of restaurants nearby, but no restaurant on-site.

Very nice hotel; affordable; has pretty much all you need except food service or a restaurant. There was a kitchenette in my room; however, I was just there for the weekend so cooking not really feasible. Everything was very clean. There is a need for another elevator as there is only one. It gets pretty busy in the morning so anticipate a long wait for the elevator during morning hours.

I've never stayed at a Candlewood Suites prior to this stay... we chose this hotel because it is pet-friendly and we were having to travel with our dog. I was concerned that our room would smell like other dogs had been in it (or even worse -- cats!) but room was clean and fresh with no clue that other animals had ever stayed there. Front desk attendant was helpful and friendly; bed was comfy; everything worked; loved the shampoo and soap dispensers (SO much better than those thousands of tiny plastic shampoo bottles that other hotels use). Overall was very pleased and will definitely use this chain again! Price was right, too. Goodbye Hampton -- Hello Candlewood Suites!

Great over night stay prior to Triangle Triathlon. Very Clean room, full size fridge with ice maker, cooktop range and microwave. Friendly staff too! Bonus is the Excellent Mexican restaurant next door too!

Nice suite with fairly "full" kitchen. The usual gym and access to the cupboard was nice.

We were not aware that there is only housekeeping once a week. It would have been nice to have fresh towels and the trash taken out daily.

Attendants refused to refund the room because I booked it through hotels.com. Hotels.com refused to refund the room because the hotel refused to allow them to do so - even though I checked out immediately and booked a room in a nearby hotel owned by the same company. Absolutely infuriating experience.

Friendly and courteous daytime desk manager (Tom), and it’s walkable proximity to downtown Apex (a littl over 1 mile walk).

I like that every room has a kitchen and everything I need from a kitchen. The rooms are simple but spacious. I only thing I can say I didn’t like was that it doesn’t include usb ports to charge my electronics.

Nice to have coin laundry onsite. Bed was quite squeaky.

Which set the positive tone of our overall stay. We had originally been assigned a smoking room which he was able to change for us to non-smoking. He offered some restaurant options when we checked in as well as handled a small request that we had. The room was clean - just not extra large (one queen bed which was close to the wall), but did have a full size refrigerator and dishwasher as well as small cook top and microwave. Bathroom was decent sized and well-stocked. Our room faced the back, so it was very quiet. They also have a pantry on site which offered some breakfast options which were very affordable. We had a very pleasant stay!

My nonsmoking room had been smoked in. Mgmt was nice and did change my room, however, the shower was definitely not cleaned from previous usage, carpet was dirty, and the coffee maker had mold growing in the carafe. For the money, not surely I’d stay here again.

Friendly staff when I checked in late at night. Was there for two nights - it was so quiet I hardly saw any other guests. I was there for a craft show and was super close to the location and lots of cute places to eat. Will stay again if I find myself in the area again.

Great stay and great staff. The only downfall because I wasn't expecting it was the room being cleaned everyday. Room service is once a week. I should've read more into the stay. But all and all it was great 😊

We stayed at the Candlewood Suites due to a hurricane evacuation. We had two large dogs with us. The staff was outstanding. They welcomed us and our pets. The rooms were clean and comfortable. When we needed to extend our stay they gave us a great rate and made the stay very enjoyable. Free use of the washers and dryers was a added bonus. The pet area is nice and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

Extremely clean rooms and extra white towels. Everything is up kept in great condition. Rooms are really well sound proofed. Front desk staff is very nice. My family had an extremely pleasant stay. We are coming back.

I was very impressed with the service and the fact that they left you alone unless you needed something. The supplies that were available in the room covered every need you could have. It was comfortable and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

Very nice hotel. The staff was courteous when we checked in. The parking lot could use more lighting around the entrances. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff called around 11:30 that morning and were repeatedly asking if I wanted to extend my stay past check out time at 12pm. I told them I would be checking out at 12pm. They were very pushy about trying to get you stay past check out time. Overall nice stay.
