Reviews
The Bleckley Inn is a beautifully renovated, first-class property that offers outstanding value for money. Guests consistently praise the hotel's cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient downtown location, with many calling it their favorite place to stay when visiting Anderson University. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the breakfast options, particularly for vegetarians, and a few have had issues with parking and signage for satellite rooms.

Very unique rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Super friendly staff. Nearby restaurants.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was very helpful! Especially Ellie!
- 5/5
Amazing place. Clean, safe and perfect out weekend trip.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with outstanding service. I frequent 4 and 5 star hotels, and Bleckley Inn is right with them. The breakfast was excellent, and the location next to the parking garage can’t be beat. EV chargers are available and the first two hours are free. The housekeepers are super attentive and detail oriented. Easiest check in and check out I’ve encountered. If you’re on the fence, book it. You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful staff and the room was clean. Hotel is absolutely beautiful

Cleanest hotel I've ever seen, nicest staff I've ever encountered, and the coolest rooms you can find in Anderson. My suite had a full kitchen, living area, and had a really impressive atmosphere. A lovely place to stay
- 5/5
Courteous staff, quiet, beautiful accommodations and great location in Downtown Anderson.
- 4/5
Lovely hotel in Anderson. Very accommodating staff.
- 5/5
A lot more than I expected for the price.
- 5/5
Just a great hotel. Everything about it was really first class. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in beautiful downtown Anderson.
- 5/5
Lovely warm cookies. And chocolate in bed. Enough soft pillows and plenty of space!
- 5/5
Such a quaint nice hotel. Charm, cleanliness, location, convenience, staff all so good. Only negative was mattress was very uncomfortable and quite ‘springy and squeaky when sitting or turning over.
- 5/5
This is an awesome introduction to Anderson
- 5/5
Short stay but super cute place. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Nice, big spacious room with all the necessities. Complimentary milk and cookies at night was a plus too!
- 5/5
Great hotel in the downtown area.
- 5/5
We have stayed in many more expensive hotels, but I don’t think any of them were nicer or more pleasing. Considering the quality of our experience, it’s actually a great deal. Please don’t raise the prices and ruin the whole thing
- 5/5
This place was great from the rooms to the convenience.
- 5/5
The cutest place in Anderson! Southern charm at its finest, even with milk and cookies at bedtime. Decorated beautifully for Christmas. Absolutely loved it and recommend to all.
- 5/5
The hotel was full of character. It felt more like a bed & breakfast instead of a hotel. The suite was very spacious, elegantly decorated, and furnished with any amenity a traveler would need. I will definitely come back when I’m back in the area.
- 5/5
It exceeded my expectations! If you are going to Anderson, SC check them out!
- 5/5
Everything about this hotel is awesome, from the staff to the room . Highly recommend
- 5/5
I have been wanting to stay at “the Bleck” for a long time so I looked forward to this chance. Property is nicely located in downtown Anderson and made us feel like home right away. Room was very nice and quiet and the milk and chocolate chip cookies was a nice treat. I highly recommend this hotel so if you are near Anderson don’t miss it!!!
- 5/5
We had an amazing one night stay while visiting Anderson University. The Bleckley is absolutely immaculate with personal touches like chocolates on the pillows that make this a perfect place to stay in quaint downtown Anderson.
- 5/5
My overnight stay was great! Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond!
- 5/5
Beautiful renovation of this hotel. First Class in every respect.
- 5/5
Outstanding hotel for the money!
- 5/5
This is our favorite place to stay when visiting our son at Anderson University. It is close to the school and has a unique and comfortable atmosphere.
- 5/5
Beautiful property!!
- 5/5
Super clean, friendly staff, convenient to downtown walking and restaurant’s food was delicious!!!
- 5/5
Extremely clean!!! Breakfast options could be better.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, lovely spacious and comfortable room. The front desk person was very welcoming. The only negative was the breakfast, which was terrible. For a vegetarian the only option was heavily cheesy potatoes. Had to ask twice for toast and it appeared after quite a long time, cold. I don't see any reason why there wasn't simply toast or rolls available at the buffet. Coffee was very weak.
- 5/5
Beautiful boutique property. Rooms are spacious, high ceilings and extra large bathrooms.
- 5/5
Superb staff and accommodations. Beautiful furnishings and accessories, comfortable bed and bedding, spacious rooms with high ceilings. Charming and an incredible price for the quality. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms, wonderful breakfasts, very accommodating staff—will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
was friendly clean and centrally located staff were great only negative they don't have a bar only beer and wine
- 4/5
Lovely historic inn with interesting historic displays and artifacts. Very fine restaurant.
- 5/5
I loved all the character and history of the property. It was absolutely gorgeous and I would like to go back real soon!!
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 4/5
It was a great place to stay, but our room was a satellite location. Direction and signage where the worst. Parking was not convenient. Room and local restaurant were very good. Check in service needs help and inconvenient for their satellite rooms. Breakfast was good and so was the service, but had to walk about block to get there. Lucky it was was not raining. Make sure get a room at main location.
- 5/5
Quality facility and staff. Very good breakfast. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Always try to stay here when I visit my daughter at Anderson University. Super convenient location and beautiful hotel! Amazing breakfast in a beautiful dining room and walking distance to all the downtown area has to offer!!
- 5/5
This was our second stay at the Bleckley and we have really enjoyed it both times. Everything is very clean and inviting. The beds and pillows are very comfortable.
- 5/5
This was top notch from the moment you walk in to when you leave. Superb accommodations. Super clean, great bed and fabulous food! Great friendly staff.
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay!!!
- 5/5
This place was so amazing! I loved the room and the staff was so kind and friendly!!! Def a place to stay anytime coming into Anderson SC!!!
- 5/5
Nice hotel wit an on premise higher end restaurant, great food, reasonable pricing. Small hotel, nicely renovated, very comfortable rooms and beds. No pool. Convenient to downtown Anderson...one block walk.
- 5/5
Second time staying at Bleckley… will stay again! It’s soo cute and quaint! Very nice for a wonderful price!
- 5/5
Loved the boutique hotel. Wonderful staff and great breakfast 👏👏👏
- 5/5
We had an amazing stay!! The cookies and milk each night were such a sweet touch. All the staff was friendly from check-in to check-out! We definitely will go back!

Beautiful property. Lots of charm.
- 5/5
The wood and the restaurant
- 5/5
Fantastic location and an amazing place to stay!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time and would love to visit again
- 1/5
I booked a room last minute (after 8 pm), arrived at the property at midnight to find out check in ended at 9 pm. The person who answered the call button said there were actually no rooms available. How can this happen!
- 5/5
The room was perfect!
- 5/5
This was a absolutely wonderful visit.
- 5/5
The Bleckley Inn is always amazing. Have stayed there about 10 times. Impeccable rooms, wonderful service, and a breakfast to brag about.
- 5/5
Review for 2/2022 stay. Love the traditional/original floors and building features. Very clean and friendly staff! Buffet breakfast was delicious and we love the fresh fruit cups. We stayed at the off-site property and recommend the parking area be lighted for the guests. We arrived in the evening and it was dark and scary, although the area appears to be very safe.
- 5/5
The staff were helpful and super friendly.
- 5/5
This is a better choice rather than staying on interstate motels/hotels. There are three buildings for this inn located walking distance. We stayed in the Plaza building and the room was large and comfortable. We also ate at the main dining for dinner as well as breakfast. Both excellent. It is a great place to discover Anderson! Anderson has an interesting history and southern charm just like this inn.
- 5/5
This is a beautiful place to stay right in the heart of downtown everything within walking distance. There is absolutely nothing I would change. What a pleasant experience!
- 5/5
This is a beautiful, old hotel—wood floors, soaring ceilings and windows, and a fantastic restaurant!
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms, food was fresh and full of flavor, staff very pleasant.
- 5/5
Everyone was polite and professional. The facilities were truly first class.
- 5/5
The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. In the guest area that has the ice machine, there are milk and cookies every night, and a selection of snacks all the time. The inn doesn't have a bar in its restaurant, but there are options in the (walkable) vicinity for that.
- 5/5
Enjoyed it. Will definitely come back.
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful, very clean and we enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice, spacious and quiet.
- 3/5
Both my daughter and I heard the direction to the Plaza rooms and 20min later we still hadn't found it with the map she gave us. We were not told the construction blocked road to parking. There is promise of a decent property here but they need to hone their skills on the disjointed property if they want people to be repeat customers.
- 5/5
The room was nicely decorated, ample closet space, bed comfortable and the bathroom was a very good size. The dining area was warm and inviting too.
- 5/5
Our favorite.
- 4/5
Right downtown
- 3/5
Loved our stay here but was really disappointed that our bathtub drain was broken and did not work. It was too late to switch rooms or anything which was a little disappointing but overall a great room at a very nice hotel.
- 5/5
Very nice Hotel - Will stay again if in the area
- 5/5
This inn was really neat - we really enjoyed our stay! It was gorgeous, very spacious rooms and bathrooms, snd even offered cookies and milk after we returned from dinner. It was quiet, and a wonderful breakfast dining experience was included the next morning. Excellent staff and service. They aim to please. Will definitely return to the Bleckley Inn.
- 5/5
Beautiful property with comfortable and spacious rooms. Friendly service and breakfast was included. This was our second stay and we will stay here again.
- 5/5
Good service and good hotel 🏨
- 5/5
Went to Anderson for the first time (wedding) and stayed here, which was the closest hotel to the wedding venue. I was in the 'plaza" section of the hotel, which was actually a couple blocks away on Main Street. I would suggest parking on Main Street to unload and then move your car to the free parking areas. The entrance (elevator) is right between 2 restaurants, but it's a gold elevator, so it's easier to see (even though I missed it). The room was very big with a huge bathroom. Even though I was directly on Main Street, the curtains blocked out most of the light from the street. Refrigerator in the room was nice (2 free waters). But the best part about my stay was the breakfast! I'm sometimes wary of "free breakfasts with your stay" cause I think it means bagels and cereal, but this was good stuff! They had hot egg/sausage casserole, hash brown casserole, and praline bacon! That was someone's grandmother's recipe! It was yummy! I would go back to the hotel and stay just for the breakfast!
- 2/5
Room was located in a nearby building, not in the main hotel. Parking was not readily available. Wi-fi connectivity could not be established. Outside noise from the street was problematic for sleep. Would not stay here again unless in the main building.
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms and great breakfast.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. A little bit confusing checking in as rooms are not attached to main hotel, but rooms are very nice, clean, upscale.
- 4/5
The room was very spacious. The bathroom had a tub and shower!
- 5/5
Very comfortable, large over-sized rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our stay included free breakfast, which was great.
- 5/5
Beautiful old hotel in heart of downtown Anderson.
- 5/5
Great place. I could live there.
- 4/5
Hotel is picturesque but I didn’t realize I booked in a separate building a block away - not terrible but a little annoying to walk for breakfast. Breakfast was amazing!!! Only concern is that housekeeping and room amenities were just ok. One trash can only - in bathroom. Minor stuff like that. Very comfortable bed though!!!
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing. Rooms were big and spacious. Bed was so comfortable
- 5/5
Everything was very good. The only complaint was the temperature in the room. Generally we were too cold, but the temperature varied during the night between too hot and too cold. Overall very nice stay.
- 5/5
I didn’t know what to expect at the annex location, but it was fabulous. Room was beautiful with lots of windows. We had perfect view of Anderson’s Christmas tree from our room.
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay, wonderful town. Our room had a direct view of the massive town Christmas tree. Loved our stay!
- 5/5
Exquisite and elegant surroundings with magnificent service replete with Southern charm and hospitality, the Inn was perfectly delightful in every way imaginable. Rustic and modern furnishings amazingly integrated in a spacious suite with every conceivable comfort and convenience of home. We will continue to return again and again.
- 4/5
Pleasant stay at The Bleckley Inn. Different from your typical hotel experience. Room was nice, but the bed was not! Horrible night sleep! Needs replacing. Tub would not drain properly. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Staff excellent. Love the way City of Anderson is working to revitalize Main Street.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. Everything was very clean and beautifully maintained.
- 5/5
Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The beds were comfy, awesome water pressure in the shower, and the rooms were spacious. The evening cookies and the breakfast bacon were excellent! Ice machine didn't work but the staff resolved with ice from the kitchen. We would definitely stay there again when in the area.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely helpful and attentive
- 5/5
Loved this hotel!! I would come back! Everything was nice! I had the king suite!
- 5/5
This is a small intimate Inn with a hospitable and friendly staff. The furnishings are warm and inviting and incredibly clean. The Bleckley Inn is located within walking distance of many quaint little restaurants and retail shops. I definitely plan on returning for a relaxing weekend getaway.
- 5/5
The room was Very Nice and Very Spacious
- 4/5
Very nice hotel but I’m not impressed with the service at all. They were not friendly when I arrived or left. In fact, unless I addressed the front staff first, I probably wouldn’t have even received a greeting or salutation. I have to come to the area for business again soon, however, I’m unsure if I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Very beautiful place to stay and within walking distance to Main Street which is such a nice, quaint town with several gems to explore.
- 5/5
Great location. Easy process very helpful. Great breakfast.
- 5/5
the staff was so friendly and the food was amazing. Clean rooms.
- 5/5
Very nice property. Conveniently located in downtown.
- 5/5
The orders seemed in a funny order and I didn't see where the breakfast was hosted, but that could have just been me. Overall really great place to stay! Would 100% go back!
