Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Anchorage

I am very picky about my breakfast and Fairfield didn't meet my expectations for the price I paid.

Excellent breakfast The phone system was not working. I arrived at night. I couldn't contact the hotel to get their shuttle. I wasted two hours at the airport trying to make contact. Fortunately they reimbursed me for the cost of a taxi

Clean room with a handy air port shuttle service.

The room was spacious and the lighting was really good in the room. It had 2 TVs, one in the living area and one in the bedroom area. The bed was large and had 4 pillows. The bathroom was really large, allowing for ample room to move around in. The bed was too hard for us, so we didn't sleep well. We found hairs in our towels after taking showers, but they appeared clean other than that. The WiFi and the bluetooth option on the TV for our devices did not work for that room. We stopped trying after about an hour of attempting connections.

Very disappointing check-in experience. Our room has a large wooden structure directly blocking the window, covered with bird droppings and feathers. The front desk said no other rooms were available, even though rooms showed online for the same dates. Not the Marriott experience we expected for our first trip to Alaska.

The shuttle was ready waiting.

Everyone was very accommodating and helpful. Extremelyclean, comfy beds and the breakfast was good!

Close to the airport Staff could have been more welcoming. Front desk staff arrived late the next morning which caused breakfast and coffee to be late. Current staff had to take over for the kitchen.

Very clean and nice staff. The snow and ice that could’ve been removed from the back patio in less than an hour along with all of the dog poop.

Additionally, the hotel provides shampoo, conditioner and body wash in pump containers affixed to the wall of the shower. They should be placed lower to be more accessible for a person with a disability. I was almost unable to access this amenity but figured a way that did not put the product on the floor of the shower. The room we were given was next to the lobby and the area where breakfast is served so it was very, very noisy starting at 645 a.m. Additionally, the front desk staff allowed the guest's children to race up and down the hallway which obviously was access to the pool/sauna area until very late in the evening. This provides a hazard for disabled guests trying to enter or leave their room. Multiple times there were no adults with said children (5 to 10 yrs of age)so no supervision. Lastly, trying to watch a movie on an available station the reception kept freezing adding one more item to the list of cons with this hotel. It is the off season and for the rate I paid it was way over priced
