Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and good location. However, there are consistent complaints about the shower, hot tub, and breakfast area congestion. Some guests also mention issues with room cleaning and maintenance.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Shower issues, including water temperature and pressure
- Hot tub frequently out of order or closed

Property seems to be under maintenance. Some lights in the room wasn’t working. Was able to hear next room conversation
- 1/5
The entire room (including washroom) was not at all clean. Not much options in breakfast. Seems some renovation work is in progress
- 4/5
The light in the bathroom was extremely dim, in order to see we had to turn on the "heat lamp".
- 4/5
Building is under reconstruction, piles of materials lying in lobby area. To get to the ice machine requires climbing through pallets. Matter of time before someone trips and sues. Breakfast was lacking gluten free items. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Only thing was there was no pool
- 1/5
I have no good things to report on during our stay.
- 4/5
The remodeling was distracting, but the breakfast was good and the employees helpful and pleasant.
- 1/5
This hotel was listed as no pets allowed which is important as I’m extremely allergic. Upon check in they notify they are pet friendly. Not only is this extremely aggravating and false advertising it is also dangerous. They found a room that had no history of pets for the past week and I was able to stay for the one night. Although I did have mild allergic reactions. Additionally the hotel is going through renovations. There was no name on the front of the hotel, there is debris everywhere and our room was shabby. Dirty curtains, stains on the carpet, molding coming off the walls and rust stains around the toilet and dark stains inside. The staff member who checked us in was rude with an attitude that we were bothering her for checking in. We will not be staying with this company again.
- 3/5
The hotel was being renovated during our stay. When we went to check in, we went to the property address and didn't think they were open because there were no signs. No signs for the hotel, no signs on the street and the parking lot was full of construction equipment. I called the reservation line because I was confused and the agent said, "Wer'e open, we're just under renovation right now." The room was very nice and clean, the bathroom wasn't dirty, but definitely showed it's signs of age. While on the property we unfortunately ended with a nail in our tire.
- 4/5
There is a lot of construction and renovation going on with this property right now. It isn't really fair to review it at this point. Our room was comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was adequate and the staff was friendly. However, there was a lot of mess in the hallways and common areas as the construction & renovation is going on. The property really needs this upgrade so we are happy that it is happening!
- 5/5
The hotel was very comfortable. Check in was easy and fast. There was plenty of parking.
- 5/5
Even though under construction for remodeling, the stay was quiet and comfortable. One of the cleaning ladies crawled between stacks of materials to fill my ice bucket. Will always stay here when I come visit my son!
- 3/5
Property was under major construction. Breakfast was great. Lobby was cluttered, our room wasn't very clean. Fridge didn't work. AC didn't work.
- 3/5
This is an older hotel. There is some remodeling happening.
- 1/5
I would like a refund issued for my stay.
- 2/5
Friendly helpful front desk staff. Property under renovation and should not be open or advertised as "very good". The room I stayed in was in poor condition. Tub shower did not drain, sink faucet crappy, mattress was garbage and very sunken. Terrible accommodation!
- 4/5
Room was nice a Lil small but had all we needed in there. Bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
Friendly staff, room was a good size. Hotel is currently under renovations and sign was not up so it was a little difficult to tell if we were in the right place. Lots of construction materials and dust throughout hallways. Something slimy had been spilled on the carpet in our room that house keeping apparently missed other than that, room was relatively clean. Once renovations are completed and construction dust is cleaned up, it will likely be a very nice hotel.
- 1/5
This hotel was under construction. There were literally signs saying watch for falling debris. There’s metal containers all over the parking lot with limited parking space and one entrance. Disappointing. And idk about breakfast because I left before it was open unable to sleep.

DO NOT STAY HERE! HOTELS.COM SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO HAVE THIS HOTEL LISTED AS LIVE-ABLE! It is LITERALLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION! I booked this place at 9:30 at night for my husband and children. They’re on a 10 day road trip- I’m tasked with ensuring nice comfortable hotels at the end of the day. First, There is no sign or lights on the front because the place is under construction. Second, the TV’s, phones, showers, fire alarms, etc. in multiple rooms don’t work (again bc of construction?). When asked to move to a different room due to these reasons after several minutes they were moved to a different floor that had non-HD channels only, the room had cigarettes on the floor and fire crackers…a bug ran across the night stand shortly after they got settled. HOTELS.COM DOES NOT ADVERTISE IN THESE SITUATIONS YOU CAN CALL THEM TO BE MOVED - instead the app states once you book you cannot cancel the reservation. I have been on the app with representatives all morning WHILE at work demanding a refund. Duh! The hotel won’t refund my money bc they have no integrity - they SHOULD BE CLOSED UNTIL EVERYTHING IS FINISHED. HOTELS.COM how do you have great pictures and reviews AND NOT KNOW IT’S ALL WRONG! FALSE ADVERTISING! Since 2021 when we book a hotel Ive trusted your app - bc of the pictures and reviews- NEVER EVER EVER EVER AGAIN! I DEMAND A REFUND AND I DEMAND YOU FORCE THIS HOTEL YOU PROMOTE TO SHOW TRUE PICTURES AS OF TODAY JUNE OF 2026! DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!

Mold, rust, stained furniture, stained carpet, rancid smells. Not recommended in any way.
- 4/5
Liked the gym. Didn’t like the reconstruction. A lot of parking spaces available. The beds were comfortable.
- 3/5
The room and breakfast were both good. The remodeling kind of put a damper on things but you can expect that with progress. I would stay there again.
- 2/5
this place was under construction with building materials stacked up inside and outside the hotel. the room was big but the bathtub wasn't that clean. not sure I cam trust expedia reviews.
- 5/5
Easy check in clean rooms. Walking distance to eating establishments
- 3/5
The room was clean, TV didn't work, had to go ask the front desk lady for help- she was not the friendliest at all. Glad it was only for 1 night.
- 3/5
The property was OK but is being converted from an Extended Stay to La Quinta Inn and the parking lot and lobby was filled with construction materials. The posting on Expedia should include this status / condition. The breakfast was very good.
- 4/5
Hotel was under renovation so not very appealing during my stay. In fact to get ice the staff had to climb over boxes to fill my ice bucket. The room itself was clean & quiet so I had a decent nights sleep.
- 2/5
The normal bathroom lights were either burnt out or not functioning.
- 4/5
The place was under construction so there was dust and some debris in places. One of our rooms had mildew on the ceiling in the shower. Check-in person didn’t know the breakfast hours. Otherwise, beds were great.
- 3/5
Main difficulty was poor tv/digital satellite reception (during inclement weather). Was pretty distracting.
- 5/5
great hotel but under construction so pool was closed
- 4/5
Breakfast was good. Room was nice and updated. They are in a transition to a LaQuinta so boxes and crates everwhere. Pool is drained/closed at this time also 5/8/2026
- 2/5
I called and reserved my room a week ahead, but was still not able to check in because the room were not clean yet. There was several other guests that did not get the beds they reserved either. Would not stay there again, sorry to say. It was close to everything I needed to be at the next day, but not worth the headache. I had to go to the front desk to ask for more tp and towels. The girl with green hair couldn't get off her phone to come help me
- 1/5
I didn’t even end up staying bc I pull up and there are two cars there and walk in and everything is completely under construction!! I had been on the road for 14 hours and needed a good night sleep without construction noise……terrible choice!

The property was under construction. I should have read the reviews instead of just going by the rating. The water was off when we arrived due to a cut line. It was back on when we returned to the hotel. Our tub faucet leaked a stream of water the entire weekend. I reported it, but nothing was done. The room was clean and there was a pretty good choice for breakfast.
- 4/5
Place is being remodeled but service of staff was good. Didnt get up early enough to try breakfast but im sure it was good. Beds seemed on the older side but then again they are getting remodeled so hopefully new mattresses in the future.
- 3/5
My only issue was having to stand around waiting on staff at the front desk, at one point the evening girl acting like I was bothering her asking for morning coffee. I mean, if you are getting paid, you should be more willing to help your customers.
- 5/5
We stayed the night in the middle of their remodel! They did keep everything safe and clean. The room was beautiful and clean! Loved the high ceilings and the ceiling fan!! Breakfast was great!
- 5/5

- 4/5
Room(king) was nice and big. The breakfast was good. I bought this one because of the hot tub and pool which was out of service :(. The place was under contruction
- 3/5
Hotel was going remodeling project. Pool was closed and no upfront information about. Very sad experience
- 3/5
Place was under heavy construction so it was hard to tell how nice it could be. Would have been nice to know before booking the room but guessing that was why the price was as low as it was
- 2/5
Property is under construction, no amenities no hot water in our room
- 2/5
The hotel was under renovations. The room had a terrible smell and there was food left in the fridge. The staff was friendly. There breakfast was adequate.
- 2/5
Mold, under construction. Couldn't use pool or hot tub. No juice or water for breakfast. No ice
- 3/5
The hotel is being renovated, so there was a lot of construction going on around the building entry. There were materials stacked inside the lobby. There were basically no amenities available other than the breakfast, which was good the first morning, but the next couple of mornings there was no juice and no milk so we had to go to Mac Donald’s and get breakfast. The staff was nice enough at the front desk. The rooms were very dated but clean and the beds were very comfortable. Not bad overall, I guess for the price of $80 a night. There was one night that was very noisy with people fighting in the room across from ours and in the hallway throwing things and slamming doors. We called the front desk and they responded immediately so that was good. We were told that we would be emailed a receipt after we checked out but we haven’t gotten one yet. They couldn’t print one for us. I would not really recommend this until they’ve finished renovations but then they’ll charge a lot more for it, I’m sure.
- 1/5
The hotel was under construction, the whole hotel, third floor was gutted, sign on front door says watch for falling debris cause the are also have construction on the front entrance, no working ice machine, no working hot tub or pool, the whole place looked destroyed in and out of the building, construction stuff was blowing around the parking lot. It was desaturates. Asked them why they did tell Expedia to let there customers know about this going on and they said they did, well when I booked this room, there was nothing telling the consumer about this construction going on. Couldn't go anywhere else or I would have lost my money. This place in my opinion should have not been open and put their customers in danger. VERY VERY UPSET.
- 1/5
Everything about the stay was awful. It was fully under construction. Nothing was working. No ice, no vending machines, no drinks for breakfast. Only a few things were available for breakfast. I brought my 5 year old granddaughter with me and I was very concerned for her safety even inside the building. I picked the hotel because of the reviews and indoor pool. Nothing about the reviews were true all the pictures were not of this location. The pool was shut down with buildings materials everywhere. The night desk clerk was not very friendly or helpful. We checked in around midnight we were exhausted and very disappointed. She told us the only way we could get refunded was to get approval from Expedia. I was on hold for almost an hour before I hung up and went to sleep. Total exhaustion and disappointment.
- 2/5
Disgusting pull out mattress with all kinds of stains. No sheets. Hallways and rooms with nasty smells, dirty carpet. Poor breakfast options. No juices or milk for kids. No hard boiled eggs or jelly or toast or anything other than powdered eggs, dry biscuits, sausage patties and a waffle maker. There was cereal but no milk.
- 3/5
I was given key to a room somebody was already in, had to go change it, loud noises coming from other rooms, did not feel safe with ajoinong door to next room.

Customer service was great. Checkin was easy and the construction wasn’t disruptive once we were in our room. Breakfast was great! They even had fresh oranges which the kids loved. Bacon and sausage on a Saturday, banana nut waffle flavor was awesome too. I wish the muffins would have bee fresh instead of packaged, but they were really good. A bread station with bread, English muffins, or bagels would be a great addition too.

I wasn’t told there was no hot water when I checked in. Staff wasn’t concerned at all and didn’t seem to care. The next morning, there was no water at all. I wasn’t offered a refund until I asked them. 50% off is a damn joke. No water ? Full refund. I will not be staying there again. I stay in Amarillo 1 night a week at least. I have already found a new place to stay.

The hotel is under renovation, but the work area was contained and material stacked. The hotel was cute, clean and spacious. Beds comfy, we got a suite with a pull out couch and all 5 of us were avle to stretch out and relax after a day of travel. Breakfast had hot eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy as well as waffles, cereal, and cartoons of milk. This will be pur stop in Amarillo from now on!

The hotel appears to be undergoing a major renovation, so maybe this will change soon, because the rooms are super run down. I requested to be moved from my first ground floor room because the window wouldn’t lock. The room I ended up staying in was dingy (dirty curtains, water spots on the ceiling, old fixtures in the bathroom) but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff was also very courteous. Hopefully I just caught them during a time of transition.

The front desk person was not very nice at all and couldn't answer questions because she didn't usually work there. They are remodeling yet the booking site failed to mention that. I specifically chose the hotel because it had a hot tub but of course it was shut down because of the remodel.

The room was comfortable, especially the bed. Air conditioner, and other amenities worked fine. The sofa in the room had rips on the corners. And, the shower head only had one setting which worked, the three prong, pulsating setting. Again, not what we had hoped. Didn’t stay for breakfast, except to catch a chocolate milk on the way out the door. Great staff and likely small fixes to have an improved stay.

Condition of hotel was terrible. Several areas of hotel were not available and there was no indication of that on their website. Guests should be told if the pool is closed for repair. We were on a family vacation and a sign at check-in (after we had booked a room online) stated pool was not available… Poor customer service.

I’ve stayed a total of 3-4 nights at this hotel over the past couple weeks and every night I’ve been here it’s been very uncomfortable in the rooms as the ACs have barley worked, been in a different room each time. Will no longer say at this hostal going to look got a new place to stay next time I come into town.

Upon checkout, the warm body at the service desk couldn't decide which story she wanted to stick. First we explained about the deposit, which was located in cash drawer, then she called cleaning staff for clearance for remainder of bill. Then, she told us the bill was already paid, from a card that's doesn't belong to anyone in our party. And that, their hotel doesn't process payments in the form of cash, it's strictly credit card. Um.... Then why did you call cleaning to verify room was clean for remaining balance? Isn't that what credit cards are for? Discrepancies and incidentals post check out? My supposition is, she saw credit card, then closed the ticket. And instead of just apologizing, or offering a solution to fix it, she compounded the issue by spinning a web of lies that she ensnared herself in. If it was accidental, no problem, we move on. If it was just "the new person" who checked us in, as she accused, I could accept that, if her actions while we checked out made any sense instead of being counterintuitive.

First of all, this property was bought out and they don’t have any signage that shows the name Hawthorn or Wyndham- we came in late at night after a long day of traveling and literally drove in circles trying to find out hotel because the sign out front said a different hotel name. When I finally went in to ask where our hotel was- the girl at the front desk told us we were in the right place. When I mentioned the sign out front saying a different hotel and how they should do something about it, she just shrugged her shoulders and handed me my key. No apologies, no empathy- nothing. Very rude and has such a cavalier attitude. Zero customer service!

This property was sold under renovations. It was not a Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham. We were not informed if this. At check in we were told that it was bought by LaQuinta. I rented 2 rooms for the night of July 31, 2025. The outdoor sIgn was covered up which gave the appearance of the hotel not in business. For fear of not getting reimbursed for canceling we decided to stay as we had an event to attend Thursday night with no time to search for another hotel. The carpet was stained & worn with rips. The metal door frames on the bath was corroded & rusted. Plumbing fixture in the room & bath were worn & corded. The bathtub & commodes bowls were stained. Food was below average. Front glass doors very dirty. Closet was stabilized with a board. Do not understand why this facility was even advertised on Hotels.com and available. Unable to upload photos…. How convenient. I have photos would be delighted to send the CEO of this organization.......Pitiful place.

I got here to chek in and you didnt put a card on file for me. The hotel said i had to pay for my room even though i have recipts and my credit card statement that shows i paid. Your customer service line is pathetic. She couldn't find my reservation even with the itinerary number shown on my receipt in the hotels.com app. You refused to let us speak to a manager. The hotel was great and the lady helping me here was awesome but you guys are terrible Not sure what kind of fraud your pulling saying you cant find my reservation for this hotel. 8pm after 10 hr drive and i had to rebook the room again paying put of pocket using my travel cash. Yall screwed me

Pool and hot tub close lady at front desk was rudy room was good but that was IT
- 1/5
The room was nice, however the window seal was insufficient as the wind created a loud howl in the room. I had to open the window about 3” which caused the drapes to whip from the wind. I asked for another room but was advised the rooms slll had the same issue. The internet was down and shortly thereafter the power went out. I booked because I depend on the internet and they advertised that it was included in the room. Overall, the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

Overall, not bad, but not Wyndham quality, yet but I hope it will be soon

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Hot and fresh breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

Ok hotel. The beds were very uncomfortable and the air conditioner kept us up all night because it would switch on and off and was loud so it woke us up when it happened. The light outside was very bright and poured in through spaces around the curtains that just couldn't be maneuvered to block it out. Our room was supposed to sleep 6, but it's can only sleep 5. The pull out couch bed was atrocious and more uncomfortable than the beds and probably only a twin size bed, no way could we fit two kids on that bed unless they were toddlers. But even so, they slept on springs all night and had backaches the next day. The food was ok, pretty runny and bland. Not very impressed
- 5/5
The property was average for the price. The main problem was the pool was closed for maintenance.
- 3/5
We stayed during spring break with 4 kids. The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance.
- 3/5
Booked for the pool use after a long car ride…when we arrived we were told the pool is down and has been for a while. This should be stated online for booking purposes. We would’ve chosen a different place to stay for a similar price with the pool amenities!
- 3/5
I had stayed here the week before, so knew the rooms were a little shabby, but comfortable and a reasonable price, but my second stay had a lot of issues. The air conditioner didn't work, the shower was leaking a lot and noisy, there was a minimal amount of toilet paper and some men's clothing left in the closet. I only needed a few hours of sleep before heading on my way, so I didn't ask for anything to be remedied, but when I listed the problems when I checked out so they would be aware of the issues, the only response I received was, "Okay". I was expecting at least a "Sorry to hear that, but thank you for letting us know, we'll work on that" I have to make the same trip in two weeks, but will look for a different place to stay.

After driving 12 hours … we were excited to relax at the pool that was under repair and no where in the web site it alert us very disappointed and the cleanliness wasn’t the best !! There’s many choices in Amarillo and I made the worst decision
- 3/5
Pool was close , some areas need cleaning .. we arrived late around 12:00midnight so maybe that’s why idk. Other than that good and big rooms for family of 6.
- 1/5
There were fake eyelashes stuck to the head board and hair on the sheets and they yelled of perfume. This room was not very clean and definitely not good for my wife with allergies.
- 4/5
All and all a good stay. Room was big and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. The gym is nice. However when I got there to check in since I am from the same town I had to pay 100.00 cash deposit not on my credit card but had to go get cash and had to leave to go find a atm to withdraw. They said it was hotel policy and I went back into the hotel details and it didn’t specify having to pay cash. Don’t quite understand this policy but I guess they have their reasons. I did get that cash deposit back when checking out. Also the indoor pool and hot tub were not in service which was why I picked this hotel was for the indoor pool and hot tub. I mean other then that I liked my stay.
- 4/5
The mattress was wearen out but was comfortable. The shower was hot whenever we needed. The breakfast was good and complete. The room service was good too. The staff was nice. The price was competitive.
- 4/5
Overall a good stay, place was very clean everywhere I saw. Breakfast was a good selection of coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal, waffles, and hot food items like scrambled eggs, biscuits and a meat. Indoor pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance, I would have maybe used. First floor elevator button was broken-so couldn't call it down to the first floor, with a sign stating such and you could ask staff to go bring it down for you or you could use the stairs. Presumably hasn't been broken long and will get fixed soon. Inside the room was pretty quiet, could here some muffled noises from people passing in hallway. I got concerned when a high school sports team of some sort (not football) stayed overnight, but they were fairly respectful with their noise and inside the room in my bed i never heard them. Front desk ladies were friendly and helpful when needed for small things.

Our stay here was quiet, breakfast was good and staff was pleasant. Our only negatives were small; the toilet seat was off when we arrived, the bathtub plug did not plug sufficiently to hold water and the door number plate was missing. All together, we had a comfortable stay and would stay again.

Spent a night on my way to Colorado. Convenient location. Grabbed some whataburger next door and then ate the complimentary breakfast before heading out. Ended up staying again on my way back home. Would recommend this place 👍

Enjoy the free breakfast and friendly staff.

When we arrived at our room, we could tell it wasn’t really cleaned. The floors were dirty so we could tell it wasn’t vacuumed. We didn’t trust that the linens were washed and replaced. The pillows smelled. The couch in the room was filthy. There was no hot water in the shower. Lots of visitors drinking and reeking of marijuana. Sketchy area. When we left, someone left a half full can of an energy drink on the hood of our car. Likely will not stay here again.

The pool bottom has large spots missing and needs re surfacing. The temperature of the pool and working hot tub was great.

Great place to stay…nice breakfast…convenient indoor pool…excellent bargain.
- 4/5
It was you standard Comfort Suites. No frills but solid. My only complaint is that the hot tub was out of service. I was really looking forward to using the hot tub.
- 4/5
The bed was so comfortable! The shower was awkward and the shower head sprayed water everywhere! That was the only thing that was not great
- 2/5
Nobody said anything about the pool being closed when I asked hours. We went to swim and all of a sudden they said it was closed. They didn’t offer anything to make it better. We went to watch TV instead and the TV didn’t work. My kids were disappointed
- 3/5
The hotel was good for 1 night but if I had to stay longer I would have booked another hotel. The reasons are small but important to me. Our heater was not operational and room was 60 degrees when we woke up. Also, we booked because this location had a pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed due to maintenance. No mention of this on the website. Just wanted to relax and unwind during our road trip but that was not the place for that.
- 5/5
We stayed for one night. It was nice and quiet. The front desk employee was so nice and got us checked in quickly. Our room was very clean…a little warm…but we cranked down the a/c and slept well.

Front desk chic was super hot ,highly recomend stoping in
- 3/5
It was on par with the comfort suites I have stayed at in the past.
- 4/5
Staff always pleasant hard working housekeepers as usual. Great clean hotel.
- 1/5
Property smelled of dirty mop water. Our suite did not have working lamps. Ice machine was disgusting.
- 4/5
The reason for the non perfect rating is because I went down stairs to grab a cart around 10:30-10:40a and when I tried to re-enter my room my access had been cut off, WHAT THE HECK. Luckily my wife was in the room and let me in. I’ve stayed in many hotels and that has never happened once so I’m a bit disappointed because I travel often and wanted this hotel brand to become my one and only! Please.. say it isn’t so Comfort Suites South!
- 5/5
We started our Rt 66 trip in Amarillo. This was a great hotel. We went to the Cadillac Ranch and ate dinner at The Big Texan. Loved them both. The hotel was comfortable but we needed a car to go to both areas of interest.

I was told I made a reservation for the wrong night. The lady at the front desk was completely rude and very unfriendly. I will never stay at this Comfort Inn ever again. Train your people to be kind even

The different flavor waffle batter and fluffy biscuits were an unexpected treat. The location is right off the highway but it's not loud. The room was very clean.
- 5/5
Nice enough, I would stay here again. It’s an older property that has been updated. The bed was really comfortable, towels and linen very nice.
- 4/5
The front desk staff was very friendly. The breakfast was really good. Our beds were ok - not the worst but not the best! The room was excellent except that there were 3 lights burned out! We were too tired to need them but if we had needed them, it would have been a hassle! That’s something that should be checked!
- 4/5
Beds were below average.

Over all was not bad. The hotel does need some renovations. The pool had a lot of bleach that irritated the kids eyes. But the employees were very nice and friendly and the rooms were comfortable.

Hot tub did not work and the employees lied about it. I checked the other motels they owned in town and all of them were broken. I called one day before arriving and they said it was working, but the maintenance people said it has been broke for weeks.
