Motel 6 Altoona, IA - Des Moines East

The man who supervised the place he couldn't understand or hear him half of the time also we checked out the room before we stayed because the place looked shabby on the outside and inside. Went into the room peeled back the sheets and there was dirt and dead bugs in the bed there were footprints on the floor like someone had been in the pool. We asked about the pool he said well you can go there if you want but there's no pool so we didn't understand that the place smelled and everything just seems so dirty. I demanded my money back and we did not stay there.

Yikes. We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the casino and the reviews were ok. I was unable to get ice out of the ice machine. There was small pieces of trash in the hallway. It was obvious it was never vacuumed. There was a stench in the entire property and the lobby was used as a storage area with large boxes. Undesirables in the hallway and parking lot. Small uncomfortable bed and pillows. My friend was unable to lock his 1st floor window, we had to use an ice scraper to prevent the window from being opened from the outside. No breakfast and they do not have a casino shuttle as they advertise. The bathroom is very small and the towels were old and stained. Stay away

Everything was horrible, I’d never recommend this place to anyone

Was able to get room in short time We had no remote for the TV in one of the 2 rooms I booked. Tried calling desk,although late,and there was no answer to try to solve the problem.

No refrigerator

The first room when we got up at 7in the morning thr was no hot water in that room so we had to change rooms at 7am. The second room had no chair to set on in that room. Thy gave someone a key to that room. And at 2:30 in the morning someone came in are room. Wasn't good. That place is a joke. We will never use it again. Hire better managers and staff. Every time I went to the desk there was no one thr to help us out. Once again that place was a joke.

The property is old, and the hall smells horrible with a terrible looks.the room were ok, good size but need more clean specially the sheets. Needs renovation, it is very scary to walk in the hall and smell terrible.

Dirty Feces, bugs and not cleanly at all

Having a door with a lock. Pubes in the toilet upon check in, dirty sheets, strong smell of cigarettes throughout the entire property. Microwave didn’t work, tv lagged until it was on for about 20 minutes. Giant pot holes in parking lot. Dirty halls and disorganized all together especially on the main floor.

The floor was sticky and it was very dirty

Counters were dirty, floor was covered with debris. Tv cable was broken. It was much cheaper on Expedia. Owner was not happy. Was rude when I showed him the price.
