    Despite the prolonged outage, the hotel failed to provide basic accommodations such as clean towels, fresh supplies, or reasonable alternatives for affected guests. My family includes an immunocompromised individual as well as two family members with diabetes who require insulin, making reliable electricity and refrigeration essential. The situation created unnecessary stress and potential health risks. At a minimum, I would have expected management to help guests find alternative lodging or provide meaningful solutions during an extended outage. Instead, we were left to fend for ourselves with little guidance or support. A hotel’s true quality is revealed by how it handles unexpected situations, and unfortunately this property fell far short of reasonable expectations. I cannot recommend staying here based on this experience

    Let's start with the cookies. The cookies are always amazing;chef's kiss! Honestly, give me more. Give me the Cookie Monster experience. If there were an option to get a fresh cookie every time I walked through the lobby, I'd be first in line. The room itself had some nice touches. Walking into a hotel room and seeing your name displayed on the television is a wonderful welcome. I also appreciated the variety of apps available on the TV. There was no need to bring a streaming stick because all the comforts of home were already there. However, cleanliness could have been better. The refrigerator, in particular, looked like it had been overlooked for a while. It could have used a good wipe-down and scrub before guests arrived. It's one of those small details that can make a big difference in first impressions. The bathroom felt like a blend of old and updated features. While the sink area appeared to have received some upgrades, the shower/tub combination felt dated compared to many hotels that have moved to walk-in showers. The overall design seemed caught somewhere between a renovation and the original layout. Another issue was the towel situation.     During check-in, the front desk staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and appeared unwilling to assist him. The check-in process took an unusually long time, and the overall customer service was poor. As a guest, you expect to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially at a Hilton-branded hotel. The biggest issue occurred the following morning. My brother had already paid for early check-in and check out and requested what time late check-out. We understand that late check-out may depend on availability, and that is completely reasonable. However, when we called the front desk for clarification, the receptionist, whose name was either Kay or Kai, was extremely rude. Instead of explaining the situation professionally, she abruptly hung up the phone. We called back multiple times, but our calls went unanswered. This experience left us feeling disrespected and questioning whether all guests are treated equally. As African guests, we could not help but feel uncomfortable based on the way we were treated throughout our stay.     Inside the room the ac emits a chemical smell when you change it form hot to cold, the bed was broken and sagged, the ac would randomly just not work at all because it’s old and the mildew smell from the hallway drifted in the room. My room was so uncomfortable I had to get out and just get fresh air. On the final day they switched my rooms but it didn’t get better. This is a ratty old hotel cosplaying as a nice hotel. I’ll be more careful staying at doubletree brand again. A cheaper newer 2 star comfort suites or something would have been better. They didn’t address my concerns while I was there in fact they were just rude to me. I spend over 50 nights a year in hotels and boy what a dump. I’m in a company paid cheap motel tonight and it’s better! No bad smells. I tried to reach out to hotels.com and the hotel to cut my visit short but neither would refund me. Truly a terrible experience. I would never book a wedding here. Me and other guests complained about the obvious disgusting smells on floor 2 getting on and off the elevator. One of the all time worst.

    Parking was very easy, the shower didn't get hot enough so we didn't say anything because we were rushing. Breakfast is good should be cheaper for $20 buffet. Kids under 13 shots eat for free is my opinion! Very nice people clean rooms! Should be at a cheaper price but I did enjoy my time

    Amazing customer service but the facility isn't maintained. The shower didnt work and instead of sending maintenance they sent a housekeeper 20 mins later. I couldn't shower before my work conference and I had to wash up at the sink. The fridge didnt work either. I would definitely stay here again though because of the staff attitude and customer service. Kay is a gem.

    The swimming pool was not working. The room was very far to walk. I asked for a senior accommodation. The property was Mail maintained, but they seem like they overcharged me because my hotel stay together was only supposed to be 357 and I see they didn’t added another $78 so and it was it was $100 deposit fee to be retired. I wasn’t happy with that.

    Super thin pillows & rooms smelled terribly. There were stains on the ceilings & walls were super thin. You could hear everything & lights/noises all through the night coming through the door. The stairwell was locked, so you were forced to take the antiquated and slow elevator. Gym was definitely underwhelming with minimal equipment. It was dirty, and paint was peeling everywhere. Just terrible stay.

    The room had roaches and the staff that served our party at the banquet were rude. It was almost like they treated us as if they were doing us a favor by letting us eat. Didn’t allow us to eat without feeling rushed and immediately cleared the food we paid for without allowing us to eat as much as we paid. Just because the property has a few staff members that were polite during check in is why I didnt rate it 1 star. Do better

    I was expecting a little higher quality stay here. The bed was pretty comfy and nice clean bathroom. The staff was so friendly and helpful when there was an issue. Only thing is the elevator for the far rooms had me questioning getting on it. Felt a little unsteady, and also the room they gave me had the smell of mold in it. I turned the AC off which helped slightly, but even the day after it still had that lingering smell. Not too bad though.

    The noise at night was just ridiculous. Loud music loud kids in the hallway. Noise until after midnight. I asked for my room to be cleaned and refilled twice they came in no coffee,sweetener,stirrers.On the second cleaning there was only a half roll of toilet paper left and they never gave us a backup roll. They did not have breakfast so the coffee in the room was important. I travel a lot will never stay there again.

    It was very clean. Only downside of the rooms is the beds are really small they are not queen size bed they are full size and 2 grown ups really can’t fit in them. I feel it’s not right for the price of the room and the beds are really small.

    I did not use the amenities myself but I did notice that the pool was being used. I found the meals there were a bit pricey, but the breakfast was fantastic. The restaurant staff were plasent and helpful. There is a shuttle to and from Midway which was helpful. The room was clean and comfy. I would go there again.

    The lobby area was filthy. It looked liked soneone was partying all night (empty beer cans,Wine bottles and food) in the lobby as soon as you walk in. There was teash in hallway on the 5th where my me and my wifes room was. If it was for the fact that we didnt have many options after our flight was canceled, we would have went somewhere else.     The room was fine for what we needed - a place to stay before an early flight. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer, it was a bit worn, carpet especially and the bed uncomfortable. The “handicap accessible “ (which we didn’t need was not great, no wheelchair would fit with the “closet” and the lack of bathroom counter space was annoying.

    First let me say the check in process was nice and easy. But once we got to the room it was terrible. I was failed to be informed of construction being done below my room. Just constant banging. Called the front desk numerous times. Then after we were moved it was fine. Called the front desk at 7:03 for a crib for my baby and some extra pillows and sheets as we were using the pull out sofa. Took 90 min to get those up to my room. Would not stay here again unless it was the last hotel for 100 miles.

    I was unable to adjust the temperature in my room. (Not working) With the room temperature being what it was, the air was extremely dry. Also when you order room service you get charged a tray charge when they deliver your food in a takeout bag.

    Check-in was easy and efficient. I really loved the electronic key. Pool and Gym were well equipped. Whether it was the front staff, the service members, the shuttle or even the restaurant staff, all were very professional and polite. Really enjoyed this location. The hotel is located an a quiet and calm area. Thank you so much for your hospitality Sisi, Sherarine, Luis and Sharon as well as the gentleman in the restaurant. Well deserved five stars!

    breakfast was okay. i don't like how people just hang outside like there at a party in the park with Alcohol beverages and cigarettes using profanity. as well inside the lobby. people were sitting inside the lobby eating chicken wings with bottles of liquor. i was with my 88 year old mother and i though we were staying at a 5 star hotel. that i was never expecting. was disappointed so we stayed inside our room.

    Expedia cancelled my hotel booking when I only wanted to cancel my car rental. Once that was done I had to re-book my room at a higher rate because Expedia stated they could not undo the cancellation. Both the hotel and Expedia continue to refuse my $198 refund even though I spent an additional $320 to fix expedia’s mistake.

    My hotel did not have complimentary breakfast and the hotel restaurant was extremely pricey. Next, some of the hotel cleaning staff were not very welcoming. My room was cleaned and had clean sheets. But the heating system was not working properly and it was very cold in the room up until my day of check out. My bathroom floor had ants and a loose tile. Finally the hotel has invested very little in furniture maintenance. Most of the furniture looked old and dirty.

    cookies during check-in was an example of GREAT HOSPITALITY! The room was very clean, smelled good and the large tv greeting with my name on the screen was a very personalized and made me feel very appreciated! Also, the vanity mirror and magnifying mirror was a GREAT decorative choice! The Spotlight Restaurant located inside of the hotel was a perfect destination for a cocktail right before heading to the room! The waiter was extremely friendly, funny, accommodating, and knowledgeable about picking the right type of drinks! The checkout was smooth and I definitely recommend this hotel for a nice getaway because it's near shopping stores and other restaurants!- This is a 5-Star Joint!

    I love a doubletree because you can expect a quality stay and I wasn't disappointed. Rooms aren't huge but they aren't small either. The warm cookie is ALWAYS something to look forward to and the parking was simple. The only con was the shuttle. You must book 24 hours in advance to your check in. Make that 48 hours to be sure otherwise the hotel will not hire or schedule a driver and you will be SOL.

    Got stranded due to a storm and last minute reserved a room and enjoyed the hospitality and the service. They were very accommodating and even offered a free shuttle that started an hour earlier at 3 AM for me to bring me back to the airport when my flight was ready.

    Check in was smooth but then when I went to my room I had two full beds instead of the king we requested. I went to the front desk to try to get this corrected and was told they were out of rooms with king beds even though I booked a room with a king days in advance. How do you sell out of what I already purchased? On a day my boyfriend and I wanted to get away, we were made to sleep in separate beds. This would be mildly more acceptable if we hadn’t booked a previous trip with a Hilton for two queen beds (my son was with us) and got to the room just to have 1 king bed. It took them hours to straighten out because we told the front desk that there was no way we’d all be able to fit in the same bed because they sold out of a room we previously paid for. I don’t think I’d opt to stay at a Hilton again. It was very clean but I don’t like deceptive sales practices.

    We love Double Tree! It is a Low Key Sophisticated Hotel!     Hotel is in need of an update. Our room was musty and the drawers on the dresser didn’t close, so we had to navigate past them. When I gave feedback to the staff, I was offered breakfast vouchers. I had 2 rooms and rather than asking how many vouchers I needed, they were rude and said “you only have 2 people”…I had two rooms and this unacceptable one had 2 beds with 4 people.

    Hotel rooms showing signs of wear and tear - definitely need a refresh (especially the bathroom - low water pressure, and hot water was only warm - fixtures were aging, not very clean, and not operating correctly. Finally, smell of pot was rather annoying and stuck in the carpet... need to do a better job of keeping people from smoking on site.

    The desk clerk Ms. Bentley upon my arrival I had a little difficulty with my payment. Ms. Bentley was very patient and her customer service was top notch. The problem was resolved in a timely manner. My room was nice and clean. The Spotlight restaurant and bar was very convenient for me. I ate dinner and had breakfast while staying at the hotel.

    I would have given it a five star..but unfortunately no real hot showers. The checked the temperature, however, they said that's what is is through the whole building. Hotels need to have a higher level of hot water for the needs of the guests. Other than that everything was fantastic and I would recommend the place. Property can get a bit of upgrade but it was still great! The GM Denise was such an awesome professional person!

    We were not a fan of having to pay for breakfast separate from our stay. Breakfast was very expensive with already a hefty amount to stay there in general. The floor we were on was very noisy. People were screaming, stomping, yelling, etc. all throughout the night. Horrible sleep! I will never return.

    I booked this hotel specifically because it said they offered an airport shuttle. Normally, I arrive at the airport and call for the shuttle, but when I did, I was told I had to call 24 hours in advance — something that was not mentioned on Expedia. The next shuttle was at 8 PM, while I arrived at 7 AM. I ended up paying $67 for a taxi because I relied on the advertised shuttle service. This was very inconvenient and disappointing.

    The elderly lady that checked me in was extremely friendly! So my experience from the start started out amazing! We came for a staycation because my son wanted to go to a pool. The pool was huge! Clean & warm! Lots of clean towels for the guest and lots of tables and chairs! Beds were extremely comfortable and the covers were so soft and warm. Shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing! I will definitely be returning with my family!

    The carpet in the room needs cleaning. I always travel with socks shoes to take up less space in my luggage. The bottom of the socks were so black, I had to throw away instead of bringing them home to wash. Also hotel needs security, there was a strange man on Sunday night roaming halls asking for WiFi.

I could’ve gotten it to Hilton cause they would price match and then I would’ve gotten the benefits of the point for this day and on top of that they charge me additional fees.     Absolutely the worst! Front desk are not friendly or welcoming at all! The placed in extremely dated, old and extremely loud wing of the hotel. It states warm cookies asked the lady for warm cookie stated they do not have any cookies in sour and mean face. Restaurant had ants in the danishes—it was bad experience in the hotel that felt, looked and smelled like Smokey motel room!

    The staff was wonderful. The cookies fantastic. I have stayed all over the world but I have never found a cleaner room in my entire life. The scent of freshly washed linen hits you as soon as you walk in the room it's fantastic. The shower and bathroom were impeccably clean. The lovely man who worked front desk was so nice we adored the service. The area around the property doesn't have great transportation but we stayed there because they have a free airport shuttle and the driver at 4 am was the nicest person. I would 100% stay here again.

    I book a room but when i got there I was given a handicap accessible room which I did not want. Guest service told me that they were sold out and because I booked 3rd party there was nothing they could do about it. The air condition went out on Saturday for over 2 hours and it became hot. On Sunday, the fire alarm went off and fire trucks started pulling up. Will never stay here again.

    Everything was awesome ! Everyone was extremely nice and kids. This was really good time, the only thing was Matience Man named JOSE was very rude and mean to the kids in the pool. We accidentally forgot the wrist bands upstairs and he gave us a really hard time. We probably won’t come back because of him. But the hotel and the other staff was Wonderful!!

    On September the 10th, they did not clean. My room, I went to the front desk. Asked the lady at the front desk for clean towels 2 hours later. No, clean towels. I went back to the front desk. She says she couldn't get in touch with the girl. Who's supposed to bring the clean towels? The girl who's supposed to be working cleaning rooms or delivering towels. She outside on her phone, not doing her job. I go back to the front desk. Ask for the towels again now. It's 3 hours later. I still don't have no towels.

    Warning: there are two DoubleTree hotels near Chicago Midway airport. This is NOT the Cicero location, but the Alsip, which is considerably further away. Unfortunately, the regular airport Doubletree shuttle only goes to Cicero. For Alsip, you must call for the shuttle. I called the hotel several times directly from the airport and got no answer, so eventually ended up paying a hefty cab fare for the ride over. I had no choice. The AM shuttle was fine (but must be scheduled with the front desk). Don't buy breakfast if you're leaving at 7 AM (buffet doesn't open till 7).

    I've already said this, however, since Expedia has sent me this email, I will report one more time. If management at the hotel would've clearly stated on Expedia that the airport shuttle requires a 24 hour advance reservation, I wouldn't have booked. I've stayed at many hotels and used the airport shuttle; the shuttle(s) run on a schedule.

    The hotel had many amenities and the staff was great. My main issue came down to cleanliness. My room was not cleaned properly. Thank God I have some cleaning products in my truck. There was dust build up all over the dresser so I had to dust. There was also visible dirt left all over the toilet seat and under the rim of the toilet. I had to clean the toilet myself to feel comfortable. I also had to clean the bathroom mirror because it looked like it was not clean. The hotel is older but not in bad shape. They need to do a better job making sure the cleaning crew cleans and sanitizes surfaces and pays more attention to detail. It seems like they just wipe things down. Also, they have a fruit fly problem at the bar. It was a little annoying trying to eat while having to swat away flies. It is a full service hotel, so the room comfort would have been fine if it was properly cleaned.

    I don't consider anything to be unique to the property. I would have liked facial tissue on the night stand and just not in the bathroom, maybe the small fridge could have been a little cooler,

    I thought the hotel in a whole was very nice, clean, quiet stay. The thing I didn't like was that when I pulled my covers back to lay in the beautiful, comfortable bed there was a super long piece of hair under the covers laying on the fitted sheet. So therefore I had to sleep on top of the covers and cover up with 2 bath towels, but other than that I'll definitely recommend and stay again

    Overall stay was good. Clean, comfortable room with limited amenities. Outside the property was a bit dissatisfying with guests hanging out and smoking in front of the entrance and in the parking lot. Would probably return again and hopefully check out the pool and restaurant.

    Plumbing system is awful. We switched rooms because of poor draining in the tub and then went to room 339 and the sink wouldn't drained and they never came to fix it after I reported it.

    Expedia was very misleading in info about this hotel. It said airport shuttle and 24 hour front desk. However the shuttle doesn’t run late and you can’t check in after midnight. So we couldn’t use the room due to weather issues that delayed our flight. So we’re out $200. I will never use Expedia again.

    I got stuck in Chicago on a layover they were very accommodating to me and allowed me to check in at 1:00 a.m. staff was so kind and helpful and the warm chocolate chip cookie helped as well! I would definitely come back here

    This is an old rundown hotel. The mattress was flat and hard. The towels are see-through and gray. The famous warm cookie on check in was raw completely stuck to the paper, inedible. The carpet is worn, snagged , and stained. Very disappointing for a Hilton hotel and definitely not worth the stars or $250/night cost. Stay at your own risk.

    For a “four star hotel”, some of the amenities are quite dated. The location is close to the amphitheater so it’s convenient for staying overnight after a concert. For the price per night, the hotel could be updated

    My TV never worked. On the second night a technician came to repair it and at 2:00 am the TV would not turn off. I had to unplug it. On Saturday night there was a party down the hall and security did nothing about it. I would not stay in this hotel again.

    The staff were great! The food was good! The building is dated. Guest had carry out food and it sat in the halls for 2 days. We stayed 2 nights. We didnt get new towels. We had to call down to the front desk. Also our room wasnt cleaned. The cookie is always a great treat!

    I like that the property is nestled in a quiet part of Alsip. This is my second time staying here and this time I had a suite and loved how spacious it is. Just wished that there was complimentary breakfast.
