Only small gripe is the breakfast should start a little earlier for folks that need to get to other places early in the morning.

--- I had a wonderful stay The location is truly one of its biggest highlights—everything you need is just a short distance away, from restaurants and shops to key attractions, making it incredibly convenient to get around. The suites themselves are spacious, and very comfortable, providing a relaxing environment after a long day. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ready to help with anything needed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Sonata Suites Hotel offers great value with its excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again.

Very poor
- 5/5
The people there were very welcoming! Loved everything
- 4/5
Great place to stay. However, hallways are musty. Carpets need to be removed. Exercise room is bad, just a few mismatched weights and 3 devices for cardio. Comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Staff was nice accept one his attitude could have been better but everyone else was nice and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast had decent options.
- 5/5
Great 1 night stay for our family! Breakfast was delicious and fully stocked! Beds were comfortable. Rooms were large!
- 5/5
The rooms are clean. Checking was a breeze. Big refrigerator. Confortable bed. Lots of parking. Convenient location. Breakfast was good and plenty of options.
- 4/5
Great location and value. Breakfast options and we would like for it to be available earlier.
- 5/5
We stay here a lot and we love the receptionist. She's wonderful and the rooms are very large and very clean. It's a really great hotel out of all the hotels where we've stayed at and we stay out a lot. This is one of our favorites
- 5/5
The room was clean. However, the air conditioner unit sounded like a train running through the middle of the bedroom. I have never heard a unit that loud.
- 5/5
The place was very clean, the staff was very friendly and polite ,we strongly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
I did have an issue with no hair dryer in unit or trashcan in kitchen and no stopper in bathtub. It took 3 days to get trashcan. Never received hairdryer or bathtub plug. The small sleeper sofa was unusable...too small and uncomfortable. But no major complaints. My stay was mostly good.
- 5/5
Clean room!! Nice area! Convenient to everything.
- 5/5
Rhonda at the check in desk was LOVELY! For some reason, neither my email nor phone number transferred to the hotel system properly; so I am grateful that Rhonda was able to find us the last available room—after we had booked through this website. Everything was clean and sufficient with a quality hot breakfast in the am; kudos and thanks!

We have stayed here numerous times over the years. I specifically requested a bottom floor near exit with easy entrance due to ambulation/handicap issues. We even noted on reservation made months in advance. We were placed on the second floor down two long hall ways. Our room smelled awful. The couch had stains and had several places torn on it. There was no extra bedding for pull out. It’s like it’s under new management or something. Water poured from under sink and we saw the hose connecting to garbage disposal was disconnected. We had to fix to use kitchen sink. Not sure we would go back which is disappointing because it’s a great location to Amphitheatre.
- 5/5
It was a decent place to stay for a good price. Great value.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice and welcoming throughout the stay. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere overall, and the service made the experience enjoyable.
- 4/5
Great location and economical. Iron broken. Fitness room lacking and broken equipment. Very few kitchen supplies in suite.

The reception desk was extremely helpful She upgraded the room and I am very grateful. The suit was extremely comfortable. Thank you very much I was not at all pleased about being asked for a security deposit. After all, I have neither small children nor pets. Furthermore, as a long-time customer of Booking, Expedia, and Airbnb, I have accumulated countless positive reviews. Moreover, I did not simply walk in off the street; I made my reservation through Booking and completed the payment in full prior to my arrival.

When he checked in, the first room had a window that wouldn’t close, which let bugs in, and the couch was so filthy it couldn’t even be used. After going to the front desk, he was moved not once but twice, and even the third room was still in rough condition. The shower had visible black buildup on the shower head and was stained to the point where he didn’t feel comfortable using it at all. At that point, it’s not just an inconvenience, it’s a cleanliness and health concern. I’m grateful they at least moved him, but it’s concerning that multiple rooms were in that condition. I can’t justify putting another employee here again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting even basic standards. When I book hotels for employees, that’s a direct reflection of me. This is unacceptable and how this hotel has decent ratings is beyond me. I will never book here again.

Every thing was wonderful except our room placement. It was over the breakfast room and you could hear everyone tha was down there way too early. Other than that NO complaints.

- 4/5
Location was great and property was nice and updated. Breakfast was lacking and the person in charge of the food was more interested in being on their phone than making sure the food was stocked and we along with others had to keep asking for items that were out and then wait for more to be cooked. They did not prepare ahead or have someone checking for "replenishing"

It was the perfect location for what I needed. The staff was pleasant, guests were quiet and the room was spacious. I didn’t sample the breakfast as I was either out early or slept in.

Room in good shape.
- 5/5
Love the spacious space for the kitchen/living area.
- 4/5
Staff was great, Breakfast was nice, great location, the room needs TLC, curtains had stains. Rest of the room was good.
- 5/5
This was our second stay and it was better than our first, our first stay was great. The staff was great, breakfast was very good. The hotel shows its age but has been maintain abd as far as dollar value...I recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
- 5/5
They charge for everything including parking. Unheard of in Georgia
- 2/5
Amenities few, they own the parking lot and have a sign at the desk stating $5 parking fee, no business center as listed. There was two blank desk with a broken printer. Room was furnished with old furniture, and refurbished clock. I had to ho to the front desk for basic items that should’ve been in the room. For the area this particular Sonesta is run on a 3 star level. I would not stay here again.
- 1/5
The room we checked in, was invested with beetles, bathroom toilet, was not clean, we was moved to another room. This hotel is very dated. Needs restoration bad!!!! The young lady that checked me in was wonderful. But I would never personally stay here again.
- 3/5
A staff member entered my room about 30 min after checking in, I was half asleep on the bed, they knocked , opened the door and then closed it and left. As soon as they saw I was in the room they closed the door. This was at about 9 pm.
- 5/5
Nice breakfast clean
- 4/5
Everything was convenient, front desk ladies were polite, and breakfast was good. My stay was pleasant. Cant wait to visit Atlanta again
- 5/5
Great stay, very clean, friendly staff, great amenities!!!
- 1/5
Very old. Holes in walls and sofa torn apart.
- 3/5
The cleaning of the room is an issue apparently because we have not book for at least a full week at a time. We have been here well over 90 days and still have to clean the room as well as wash and change our own linen. This is unacceptable.
- 3/5
The hotel is grimy and smelly, staff is indifferent. Things in room were broken or missing. But yet the hotel nickel and dimed for parking (this is a suburban hotel!) and late checkout. Due to location, I have have stayed here regularly over the years (in spite of being run down). But it is no longer cheap or friendly.
- 3/5
Hotel needs major upgrades to their rooms.
- 5/5
Sonesta at Avalon has wonderful, professional staff. The hotel is great. Hotel is always clean and nice and I always stay here when I'm in the area. I highly recommend it.

- 5/5
Clean room with all the required supplies. Breakfast spread was good
- 5/5
Great for what I needed which was somewhere close for a dental surgery; everything was clean and the staff was very kind
- 5/5
It was very aesthetically, pleasing, peaceful, and quiet.
- 5/5
This was the first time I had stayed at Sonesta. It was very pleasant. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel and room were very clean...the appliances, dishes, etc. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of basics (bacon, sausage, omelettes, bagels, pancakes, cereal, etc.). FYI..One thing I was not prepared for was that you do have to pay for parking...$5 per night. Overall I would stay here again.
- 3/5
5 dollars to park is bs. Breakfast starting at 7 is bs. Every other hotel I’ve stayed at is 6-6:30. I’ve never had to pay a parking fee either.

The suite was clean, it had a weird smell. I had to purchase febreze and odor plugs😩.. so i told the front desk i was planning to stay longer, i found out that the room i was in it was available anymore. What a Turn off!
- 3/5
The room did smell fresh at all. It’s smelled like it had mold.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean, cozy lobby. I'll stay again.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff and pet friendly
- 5/5
This property is consistently good. It is clean, convenient, and quiet.
- 2/5
I have stayed here numerous times and it is my favorite place to stay when I go to Alpharetta. The staff are fantastic and always very very friendly. Unfortunately, this stay will be my last. The ac didn't work properly, and it was a hot stay. I was there to have surgery this trip and when I came back to the room the staff left me a message that they would be happy to move me to another room. I was in too much pain to go through that hastle. We had three roach encounters and that means where you see one, there are many near by. The staff needs more support and resources
- 4/5
Nice staff
- 3/5
This property is extremely dated and the pictures weren't depicted correctly. The staff were nice although they ended breakfast before the time listed. The bed was comfortable. The suite was not kept up properly and the couch had more stains and spots than anything I've seen. There was a stinkbug in our room upon arriving, but that was probably because of the trees along the property. I would likely not return, but it was okay for an overnight stay.
- 5/5
Spacious studio, very nice, comfy bed.
- 3/5
Front desk wasn’t as welcoming at check in, phone didn’t work, dogs barking, no house keeping, noisy and did not ensure my itemized payment was sent.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Pool area was clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Good place to stay
- 5/5
Good hotel with breakfast included. Pet-friendly and convenient.
- 3/5
It has it’s good and bad. Great location. Welcoming to pets by the smell of the hallways (301). Breakfast was bland, questionable ingredients than processed. The room showed wear and tear throughout.
- 5/5
I liked how the concierge was very helpful and sweet
- 2/5
Smell bad, cockroaches en my room. Unexpected charge for parking
- 5/5
It was a great stay though i didn’t get any room service for the 3 nights I was there. I’m not sure if I had to go ask them or not but still a wonderful stay! Perfect for female solo travelers! I didn’t get up early enough to try the breakfast neither. The front desk lady was really really nice and I wish I got her name so I could praise her!
- 5/5
Pricy but worth it
- 4/5
We were on the 3rd floor and there was a fowl odor in the hallway
- 4/5
BUT ... The hall and stairwell carpets look really old and dirty. You guys need to invest a little in upkeep. (My wife refuses to stay here (because of the condition) so I only stay when traveling by myself). When I got to the room, there was no hand soap, no kleenex tissue and no body wash. I had to get from the front desk. That's pretty weak quality control on room servicing.
- 5/5
The room was clean and spacious. I didn't notice any sit down full service restaurant within walking distance, otherwise perfect.
- 3/5
nice spot
- 4/5
Staff was very accommodating. Our room itself was decent but could use some updating.
- 5/5
Everything about the hotel and property was excellent. The hotel isn't too far from shopping areas and restaurants. My family and I enjoyed our stay at Sonnesto suite can't wait to book this hotel again.
- 3/5
Didn't like the amount of marijuana smell coming off elevator and in the hallway going to our room very bad smell wasn't happy
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. Loved having two bedrooms and two bathrooms for privacy.
- 4/5
Location
- 2/5
First thing I saw in the suite was a small roach on the kitchen counter. The floor was sticky and the carpet and couch were disgusting. The bathroom walls were dirty. The AC unit was extremely loud. When it was running I had the TV volume maxed out and still couldn’t hear the words.
- 5/5
Great place and reasonable rates. Did not ckean my room the one day i wanted it, but otherwise very good.
- 2/5
The carpet in the hall ways and rooms smell foul and horrific. Hotel stay would be nicer if the floor in the rooms and hallways were tile like the front desk.
- 2/5
The trash can out front was overflowing from June 25-29th. Requested someone to get my trash out of room? The clerk responded with “ We have some trash bags” and I’ll show you where you can dump it? No maid service at all?
- 5/5
The staff was great. Went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Great accommodations with pool and breakfast. Highly recommend
- 1/5
On the first day we notice there were no dishes in the cabinets. I could not open the the dish washer , the maintenance man opened the dishwasher with a long screwdriver the dishes in the washer were moldy and standing water was in the bottom of the dish washer. I reported this to the front desk they never sent maintenance to repair it. On the second day water started pouring down in the bathroom I called the front office Ms. Daniela came in saw it and immediately shut the valves off but it continued flowing. Ms Daniela said guest staying in the upstairs room clogged the toilet, when it finally stopped the maintenance supervisor Jorge wet vacuumed the water was not going to mop sanitize the floors saying housekeeping staff was gone for the night after I told him the floor was going to be sanitized tonight he came back and sanitized the floor! We requested another mobility room Ms Daniela apologized and said they were booked for the week due to a baseball tournament in town. We tried booking other nearby hotels to no avail. I have videos and pictures I plan to upload to google review as well, in hopes NO ONE especially persons with disabilities ever check in to this awful place. Upon checkout I spoke with the Front Desk Supervisor Ms. Sinay Galvan about our experience and showed her the pics and videos she said with a smirk smile, sorry there’s nothing I can do about that she further proceeded to say we booked through a third-party, which is Expedia so take it up with them.
- 4/5
Danielle, the front desk associate, was cordial and professional. The property itself needs a little TLC on the inside.
- 4/5
We stayed 4 nights. Check-in was easy. We had 2 small dogs the accommodated and they met our request for bottom floor. Room was nice nothing fancy. Our fridge did not work well and did not make ice. We notified front desk. Nothing was done to fix it. We requested a bag of ice and they tried to charge us but after some heavy discussion they gave us the ice. Pool was very nice and breakfast was descent. It was close to the amphitheater and that what we liked the most. We would stay again for short stay.
- 3/5
The overall stay was pleasant but the bathroom was outdated and had mold on the walls. The shower curtains were also dirty and smelled horrific.
- 5/5
I will stay here again. Great location
- 5/5
Very clwan
- 2/5
I cannot believe Sonesta put there name in something like this
- 5/5
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted very warmly! Each staff member I saw was friendly. My room and all the public areas were very clean and well kept. The bed and pilllows were actually very comfortable and it was nice to have a separate sitting area. It felt much more like “home” than a hotel. A hot breakfast every morning was awesome! There are many activities, shopping and dining options nearby. I felt very safe going for a run near the property. The only negative was the pool was not yet open, which was disappointing but overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay there again!
- 3/5
It’s nice they have good staff and give breakfast. They make sure to have working amenities on site. They could just make sure to change the bedding including pillow cases for each new set of guests. To also make sure that all drawers were cleaned. I found crusty socks in one of them. The walls also could use a cleaning.
- 1/5
From the moment I arrived, I was met with hostility rather than hospitality. The front desk staff were not only unhelpful but displayed a level of rudeness that made my stay deeply uncomfortable. I attempted to resolve the matter politely in person, but the staff showed no willingness to assist or even treat me with basic courtesy. This experience has not only affected my trust in Sonesta as a brand but also reflects poorly on Hotels.com as a booking platform. I expected a certain standard of service when booking through a reputable site, and unfortunately, that standard was not met.
- 5/5
Very friendly
- 5/5
Will definitely book again.
- 5/5
Front dear was so nice on Saturday night my phone was dead she helped with that an my room was a little far I was delirious being that I was out all day she walked me around and showed me how to take short cut.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Very comfortable and quiet accommodations. Very homey atmosphere.
- 1/5
Not
- 2/5
Room smelled musty and like someone had smoked in it. AC unit rattled loudly all night. Noise from floor above. Breakfast was terrible.
- 3/5
The pool was not opened when it listed it available. Breakfast had hotel renters in there loading up on all the foods and ran out out eggs. There is no hotel room cleaning unless you stay there for 7 days. You may get charged $5 a day to park on premises. Overall it wasn’t that bad but was surprised at what I’ve listed.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. The carpet in our room was soaked. When i called the front deck, Dee said, "yes, several of our 1st floor rooms leak around the windows with heavy rain". She moved us to a different room on the 2nd floor which was larger. That room looked clean, but had dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Looked like someone had loaded it, but forgot to press start. Breakfast was sparse, tasted ok, but not many choices.
- 2/5
This is a pet friendly hotel. Our dog was attacked by another dog by the front desk. The hotel manager did everything possible to make a resolution difficult. I had to involve the police. When i ran into the owners of the other dog, they apologized and covered the vet bill. If the hotel had only reaced out to them in the first place, it would have been so much easier.
- 3/5
The property was clean. And most of the staff was helpful and nice. They don’t have ice on property and our refrigerator didn’t have an ice maker and it wouldn’t keep drinks cold. The breakfast bar was okay but once the food was gone they didn’t put anymore out. In the middle of the night someone with a motorcycle was right outside our window revving his engine. We didn’t complain about so I don’t fault the hotel for that. We asked the night person for a late check out and she approved. Then at 11 am someone was knocking on our door to get out. The room being clean and safe are my primary concerns and this hotel passed that. But it definitely could use improvement in other areas.
- 4/5
There just a few problems but nothing major.
- 3/5
The welcome letter for the stay states something about safety and changes due to COVID but no masks are worn and there is no social distancing. The walls are thin and our neighbors were loud. All in all it wasn’t awful but unless the cleaning standards change I likely won’t stay again.
- 1/5
I didn't like anything about this property. Property was disgusting and unclean with people yelling and screaming outside for 2+ hours at 3am several times during my stay
- 4/5
Great value. Big creek greenway a two min walk for an early exercise. Superb.
- 4/5
Definitely would recommend
- 4/5
It was a decent stay but I could hear the loud squealing of the faucet of the people showering next next door.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Granddaughter had. Minor surgery and needed to stay close. This was ideal .
- 1/5
No clean at All. Very rude breakfast attendant, tówels on the Floor of the hall for days. They clean and change sheets every 7 days
- 3/5
Pros are that it is in a convenient location to dining and shopping. Staff are friendly and helpful. Negatives are room service is every 7 days unless someone left and carpets in the hallways are old. Elevator ventilation is not good. HVAC is loud.
- 1/5
This was the worst hotel ever and I like the refund on my money the microwave was broke no remotes for tv refrigerator did not work my child’s insulin had to be refrigerated so I had to continue keeping it in ice bucket the breakfast was horrible they need new management this hotel sucked
- 4/5
My experience was okay . Housekeeping didn't cleaned my room not once out of the week I were there
- 4/5
Nice place
- 4/5
Solid experience. Felt the staff was a bit weird and did not communicate well. No instructions were given and had to even ask for the WI-FI password.
- 5/5
Great clean friendly staff
- 2/5
The property needs renovations. The carpet was coming up, the bed was sloppily made, and the furniture was outdated and ripping. Overall, it didn't meet expectations for comfort or quality.
- 1/5
The rooms were not cleaned during our week stay, even after being told it would "for sure" be cleaned. Staff took out the fire alarm because it was chirping and never replaced it, which is a saftey issue. Staff came to clean the fire sprayers, and didnt clean the room up after.
- 5/5
The property was alright. It was clean and cozy. I really liked the rooms.
- 5/5
Nice clean
- 4/5
The hotel is older and is wood framed construction..If you're not on the top floor you'll hear every footstep. The hotel allows dogs which is great, but with carpeting... theres a perpetual dog smell.
- 5/5
Many people have made ridiculous comments. But it is not like that. I stayed in this hotel for 29 days. And there is no parking fee. Yes, there is a sign but there is no Apart from this, the bedroom and kitchen sections of the room were sufficient. But there are areas that need to be renewed. Frankly, this interior does not suit such a hotel. Especially the sofa is really old.The refrigerator is very loud Because it's very old But it cools nicely. As for the cleaning part, your room is visited on time. There are 3 angels from Reaepsion. They are all helpful. Thank you for everything.
- 5/5
Great location for the Northside Surgery Center. Nice suites for a family.
- 5/5
beautiful and clean and spacious. premium products built in the wall for the shower, CLEAN shiny kitchen
- 1/5
Total price for reservation was $*** that was supposed to be paid at the property. My bank account was debited for extra one hundred. I assumed it was because the sec deposit was included and I was going to have it refunded. It’s been a month already and the refund was not received. I called the hotel today and they are blaming that my debit card is international and that is why the refund didn’t show. No solution has been given at all. That is completely unacceptable.
- 3/5
I gave the property a 3 star because of the guest. Not because of the property itself or the staff. However, the older Caucasian woman who works the front desk over night was nice/nasty a few times. But I pay her no mind. My complaint is the guest. There were kids and a teenage boy racing up and down the hallway on the 2nd floor all times of night. There was marijuana smells near some of the rooms. Someone made the fire alarm go off early one morning. And the biggest complaint of them all is, that I was woken up out of my sleep by someone who kept playing loud music in their car and they parked right outside my window every single day! I was truly disgusted. After a while, I had to relocate to another Sonesta. . . Other than that it would have been great. The laundry facility is free. The gym is practical. The staff (except that one) is great. The property felt was safe (for the most part). And the offer early check in and late check out with no hassle.
- 4/5
The front desk was great
- 4/5
Good stay
- 1/5
My 1 star rate is not for property. It’s for Expedia Service. I book my reservation, but decided to pay with another card at the property. And Expedia charged me twice for this stay. Please send me a refund to my original booking credit card.
- 4/5
Perfect place. Easy for extended stay needs
- 3/5
Located is perfect area, but Hotel is a bit outdated.
- 5/5
Early and easy check-ins. Peaceful. Staff is nice. No hassle. Only complaint is the hallway in the second floor stinks really bad.
- 3/5
We will not be returning to this property unless the property is sold again and gets a serious renovation. It’s too bad since the property is in a great location. However the desk folks don’t welcome you or tell you that it’s good you didn’t come last weekend because rooms had no heat. Who says that to an incoming guest. Do not recommend this property!
- 3/5
When i Checked in the elevator wasn’t working carried all my luggages to 2nd floor. They said it will be repaired next day. It took a week to have it repaired. One morning there was no hot water. It took two days to have it repaired.
- 3/5
Shower was dirty, with an old bar of soap and ring around the bottom of the tub.
- 4/5
Very nice property. Staff is excellent. Moved me to a handicap accessible room with roll in shower as soon as one was available
- 3/5
- 4/5
Room was clean and handicap accessible. Room had a full size refrigerator with a cook top, microwave and small dishwasher. Breakfast was good but a lot of the same food every day.
- 4/5
The building is beautiful. The lobby is very nice. But ghe room are in bad shape. Holes in wall.
- 2/5
This building is poorly managed, with little attention given to cleanliness or customer care. I requested new sheets, and a staff member left them on the floor outside my door—completely unacceptable and unhygienic. This demonstrates a lack of respect for customers and a disengaged approach to their job. Additionally, I tried contacting the manager, but they never got back to me, which reflects a lack of leadership and accountability. The only positive thing about this stay was the excellent service provided by the older woman at the front desk. She was kind, professional, and clearly takes pride in her work—it was a pleasure interacting with her. Unfortunately, aside from her outstanding service, I cannot recommend staying here if you value cleanliness, responsiveness, or quality service.

When I visit Atlanta, I often stay at Sonesta ES due to the good location -- next to Big Creek greenway (for running), close to Avalon Mall and highway GA 400. Staff is very friendly. BUT THE HOTEL IS RUN DOWN. The owners need to replace the filthy carpet and grubby room furniture. There were no hangers (really?). No maid service. The kitchenette was lacking basic items. Fridge was noisy and rattled. Clearly the place is being run into the ground.

The breakfast was ok. Seven days of the same food options was disappointing. Also having to wait seven days before hetting housekeeping to clean the room was also unpleasant.

Great Customer Service. Went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure me and my family was satisfied. Thank you!

shampoo and shower gel. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the shower was good and hot.The furniture needs to be updated. Half of the laundry room washers and dryers were out of service. No one came to clean my room during my stay. This hotel is ok if you don't mind dealing with everything my review mentions that's not good.

I've stayed here many times. Service is friendly. Rooms are dated and a little worn, but the location is great -- a few minutes from the Avalon mall, GA400 and walking distance to the fabulous Big Creek greenway (which I always use). This time they upgraded me to a two bedroom suite. Regarding cleanliness, there was some gross mystery slime on the bedside table which I had to wipe up. At check out, the desk clerk was nowhere to be found for about 5-10 minutes and I was in a hurry. If you want a posh place, this isn't it. But the location is good and the hotel gets the job done.
