Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria

This is in an excellent location in Old Alexandria—quick walk to the Metro and an easy walk to the riverfront. Nice, clean, comfortable room with a very attentive and helpful staff.

I loved the location of the hotel. It was in the perfect area near a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors all night until the early morning.

The clean and well kept The staff charge me $8 dollars for a 50 cent bag of chip and 60 cent soda when ask about it he said this is the hotel price. To make matters worse no breakfast when I paid for it!

Nothing I booked this property specifically because it appeared in my Booking.com search results for hotels offering **free parking and free breakfast**. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and did not match the expectations created during the booking process. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that the hotel had **no on-site parking area whatsoever**, not even a designated space to temporarily unload luggage during check-in. We were forced to stop on the street and unload our bags while blocking traffic, which was stressful and inconvenient. The disappointment continued at check-in when I was informed by the front desk staff member, Micha, that parking was available only through a separate arrangement at an additional cost of **$45 per night**, and that **breakfast was not included**. This directly contradicted the reasons I selected this property in the first place. While the hotel itself may have other positive qualities, the inaccurate or misleading presentation of key amenities significantly impacted my stay. As a traveler, I rely on the accuracy of booking platforms when making decisions. Discovering that two of the most important amenities I specifically searched for were unavailable left me feeling misled, frustrated, and disappointed. I strongly encourage the hotel management and booking platforms to ensure that amenity listings are accurate and transparent so that future guests can make informed decisions and avoid similar experiences.

Location is perfect for people without cars. 2 minutes walk to King Street Metro and 20 minutes walk to the waterfront. Clean room and comfortable bed. Small room and no breakfast included.

The rooms are extremely small. Literally no closet or storage for clothes. There a hanging area the has maybe 5 hangers. One person it's probably suitable but two people are cramped. The bar and restaurant only stay open until 9pm even on weekends. In Old Town Alexandria! The lobby was very warm (temperature) virtually no snack or grab n go offered.

Arrived to gnats in the room, no microwave in the room or on each hotel floor, no smart tv. Had to go to the lobby to warm up food…While downstairs warming up food, we saw gnats swarming over a trash can(full of trash) right by the check-in desk. Mentioned to staff that we had gnats in our room as well. She basically shrugged it off and said “Yeah, they’re everywhere!” She didn’t care at all! Y’all should take trash out regularly/clean properly to avoid gnats. Won’t be returning to this hotel. However, the area is very nice and full of restaurants, stores, etc.

I loved Steven. He was amazing from beginning to end. I wish however the rooms were better described online, they were a bit small and had better description of parking because I wasn’t expecting to either street parking or valet parking. Otherwise Steven honestly was amazing in every way

We loved the location. It was right near the metro. We were able to walk everywhere. It was very clean and comfortable. I wish the restaurant stayed open a little later.

Front desk staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and I loved that you could take the free trolley to the waterfront. Also it was so quiet at night. Nothing, I will be back in the future

The Old Town Hyatt is our go-to hotel in Alexandria. We travel by train and the hotel‘s proximity to Amtrak is perfect.

Location We arrived at 3pm for check in and the room was not ready. We were told that there are 5 guests ahead of us and they do not know how long it would be before we can check in. After driving for over 7 hrs, this was extremely frustrating and they did not offer to offer any type of compensation. We went for lunch and after waiting for 2 hrs, we called the hotel and were told that the room is still not ready. Finally, around 6pm we were able to check in. No compensation was offered until I specifically asked for it and they were willing to cover cost of one night parking.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Our room was comfortable and clean. We liked the large rain shower head. The location was great for metro, bus and Amtrak travel. Also the free Trolley and Dash stopped across the street. If we return to Old Town we would stay here.

Centrally located, just a short walk from the Old Town Alexandria Amtrak and Metro station. Even though I requested a higher floor, my room was assigned on the 2nd floor with a direct view of a large dumpster in the inner courtyard. Very disappointing. The king room was extremely tight, with no closet space. Once I rolled the two suitcases into the room, there was barely any space left to move around. The toilet bowl contained dark brown speck upon arrival, which raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room.

The restaurant didnt appeal to the masses. The lobby was so hot. The shower was hard to turn on and then the water dripped all night. The rooms are tiny.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and secure. The hotel is located on King St.. There are a variety of eateries, shops, sights. The metro train into DC is 2 blocks away next to the Amtrak station. There is also a free trolley that runs up and down King St if you're not in a walking mood. I will definitely visit again.

Hotel was good, but I didn't like the fact that after driving hours, so much traffic around, the room wasn't ready. Didn't appreciate the way the lady talked to me. I understand that there is so much to do in a hotel, but I'm not responsible. It's a valet parking only, but when you can't park in front of the hotel, what can you do ? It was too much for me sorry.

I love the location in town I can walk to everything like restaurants, get a cocktail. I really enjoy how close it is to the metro line that takes you into DC. The facility was very clean. Also when I checked in the lady at the front desk was so helpful and a joy to talk with. It's nice to be greeted with a smile. Parking could be more reasonable price so that is why I did not use valet parking. Other than that, thats it.

Well rounded property. Parking wasn’t the best, lot wasn’t plowed at all, very dangerous to walk on. It was secluded so if you fell no one there to help! Valet parked your car but you had to go get it yourself

All of the above. The room was cozy and clean with Bee Kind products in the bathroom. The staff was super friendly. I was able to have breakfast onsite. Bob and Edith's is 2 or 3 doors down if i wanted something else. Everything is top notch. I highly recommend.

The hotel was extremely efficient even though it was a smaller version, it felt European. The room was spotless and the front desk very friendly and helpful. Young lady serving breakfast was attentive and kept our coffee cups filled.

After working in the lobby for about 20 minutes, the staff came over and informed me that my room was now available for early check-in, free of charge. Went for a run and a workout at the nearby Orange Theory early the next morning in what feels like a clean and safe area.

False fire alarm during the night not sure what the problem was but couldn’t sleep

The rooms are extremely small with limited to no space for luggage, so pack light. The bathroom, although small, had ample storage for toiletries. Rooms had a safe, fridge, and Kerig. The bed was AWFUL! I don't think I have ever slept on anything that uncomfortable. We couldn't wait to leave just so we could have a decent nights sleep. Housekeeping was quick and efficient. Valet was quick as well. The front desk staff seems to try, but the Front Desk Manager (Nathan) has a terrible attitude and should never be in a customer facing position ....EVER! Not only was he rude and inappropriate to me, but I witnessed his same "bothered" demeanor with other guests. With all the other hotel options in the area, there is no reason to stay at the Hyatt Centri.

Exhaust fans in bathrooms or air fresheners

The plumbing is terrible! Could not turn shower on, had to get maintenance man to turn it on. When I took a shower the water turned scalding hot every couple of minutes

The bed was super comfortable however the pillows were a little lacking. The hotel itself is beautiful and I will stay there each time I come to the area.

Everything about the hotel was fabulous. Except the noise. The family in the room next to mine had kids screaming, parents yelling and the soundproofing was non-existent. I heard every single word even when they weren’t yelling.

Nice hotel. Location fantastic to jump on metro, but a bit far to walk down to the waterfront. Found street parking and was able to avoid the $40/night fee. Room was small for the family but quite nice.

Room was great

Although the room was clean and the staff was inviting the room was not what I’m use to when booking the Hyatt. It was a lot smaller without the sitting area that every other Hyatt I’ve stayed at had. No breakfast or brewed coffee we had a keurig in an our room with powdered creamer, no breakfast and pay to park. However the staff was pleasant, the area is a beautiful old town with a cute coffee shop on the corner. The stay was nice just not what I was accustomed to. I just assumed this was like every Hyatt I’ve booked in the past.

It is very nice property but rooms were very small for 3 people.

We stayed on the second floor which was facing the street and it was really loud with cars going around. We requested room change with the frond desk, and they said there is no room available at first without even checking, after we complained everything, then suddenly they said there is room available to change. We asked the cleaner for room service, and she said yes before we left. BUT when we came back at night, the room was not CLEAN at all. This hotel does not offer parking so it was valet only for $40 per night. AVOID this place, TERRIBLE!

This is a lovely hotel and the bedding is great. The sleep I had with some of the best in a long time because of the bedding. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was there’s absolutely no one to help you with your luggage and I am a disabled person.

I got surprised when I got there to discover I was going to get charged $40 a night for parking not including my stay!!! U can’t even park on the side blocks they got it set up 2 or 3 hour parking . Which makes u pretty much have to pay for valet parking! So sad

Excellent staff

I had a lovely stay at the Hyatt centric old town, Alexandria. Everything about it was wonderful… Great location, close to the metro and right on King Street, which is great to walk down to the waterfront, passing many bistros and shops along the way. My room was very comfortable, the bed great, the bathroom and shower also excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, a great value for the money!!

Crystal really knows how to make a guest welcome. Too often keyclerks (receptionist) do their job but Crystal made me appreciate this one hyatt

This is one of my top hotel choices when in ALX for work. Everything about my stay is comfortable and pleasant. I especially appreciate the proximity to Amtrak, the metro, bus station, and trolley stop.

On hotels.com, it says there is a $50 hold per day. When I went to check in, I was told it’s $100 per day and the website was “wrong” Thus left me short of money for my vacation. And now, the hold still hasn’t been taking off my account. This is deceitful and unprofessional. I would have never stayed at this hotel if I knew that I had to pay extra money per day

Nice place, easy check in

Overall, nice property. Would’ve been nice to have queen beds instead of double beds. Rooms are a bit squeezy, but were clean and comfortable.

The stay was great! The staff was very welcoming, I was explained a couple things as I checked in that I may have had to ask about. We were wished to have a good time if we were seen heading out and welcomed back if seen heading back in which was very friendly and welcoming! We only had to call down to the front desk for one issue but they answered quickly and gave a solution. They offered valet parking and offered to come as go as much as we’d like the first 24 hours which was nice! The only complaint I would have is the room had a mini fridge that didn’t work, which was the issue I called about to the front desk, I was told the fridge was a sensor and would chill once something was in it, I left something in it overnight and unfortunately it didn’t chill at all also I wish there was a microwave available in the room but everything else was great!

100% Recomended. Right where you need to be on King Street. This is the street that all the restaurants and shopping is. The metro station is just 1 block away. The free King Street trolly and Dash Bus goes thru every 15 minutes. The hotel only offers valet parking for about $45 daily. The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel and rooms were very clean. There is a restaurant in the hotel lobby.

Immaculate. Excellent Indian restaurant in the lobby. The bed was so comfortable. Room well-appointed and quiet. In a fabulous neighborhood for walkability, shops, and dining. Just a few blocks from the Metro.

We found our new favorite hotel to stay in Old Town Alexandria. Awesome hotel and awesome stay. Angela at the reception was excellent from the time we checked in and when we checked out. Beds (and pillows) are super comfy, everything in the room was super clean

Property was super nice and staff was very helpful. Only issue I had was when I checked in the room that they gave me was already occupied by another guest. They quickly changed my room to a different one.

We’ve stayed at this Hyatt several times. Is very convenient. There is a trolley stop directly out front for the free trolley that runs up and down King Street. There is a parking garage within walking distance that is around $20 a night.

Enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Centric Hotel. Wish the lounge at the restaurant was opened beyond 9:00 p.m. The selections of foods, drinks, etc. in the lobby could have been more extensive. Loved the room and bathroom, very, very clean.

The hotel was a good place to stay, right down in the old port. Close to everything, short walk or scooter ride to the waterfront. Metrorail was literally a five minute walk. Only negative thing was the mini refrigerator didn’t work. Other than that I would say a 8/10 starts

10/10 From the moment I walked into the hotel, I was greeted and checked in. The hotel was clean, the room was nice, and the Bar/ Happy Hour was right on time. I visited the bar and restaurant throughout my stay, and the service was great. The location is moments away from the metro and in the middle of a lot of shops and restaurants.

We found some dry blood on pillow and sheet when we got there. But they did do quick replace all sheet and pillow case.

This was the second time that I've stayed at this property. Everyone there from the front desk to the dining staff knew who I was just from the previous visit. It's a great great place. The food is great. The service is wonderful. The drinks are great. Everybody makes you feel at home and welcome

This is a great property in an outstanding location.

The Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria is perfectly located on King Street and just a short walk to the King St.-Old Town Metro stop, which made getting around Alexandria and the surrounding cities super convenient. The hotel is within walking distance to all of the attractions and restaurants in Old Town Alexandria. I would recommend the Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria to anyone who wants to stay in Old Town Alexandria and I will definitely be back to this hotel the next time I’m in Alexandria.

I did not like the parking situation.

We knew we weren't going to be in our room very much, so we don't care about size of the room or hotel amenities. The one really disappointing factor for me was that I specifically requested no maid service during our visit. We returned back on our third night and the room had been cleaned. While that might not seem like a big deal, I left personal items, i.e. dirty clothing and underwear, as well as a wallet full of cash out on the bed. I have no idea how much cash was in my wallet because I didn't think anyone would be in the room. Overall, it left me feeling like my privacy was invaded and left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

Everything was great

Super clean and comfy modern room. Keurig in room but no free fresh brew in the morning. Fridge wasnt working. No hot tub. Longish walk to downtown area.

Great location. Walkable. Easy check in and check out. Staff was outstanding, very professional, friendly, very helpful in responding to your requests quickly. Room was 1 king bed, clean, bed was comfortable, but room was a little small. Some items for improvement -- 1. needs more hanging space for clothes, 2. needs mini refrig and microwave. 3. Ice machine on each floor. Customers should not have to go to the lobby to ask staff for ice or to use the 1 microwave in the lobby. 4. there should be an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

The noise from the other guests was so loud and staff would not intervene. Hand towels were not provided and upon request, were promised then never delivered. Very disappointing.

Great location for metro , shops and restaurants. I would say would have been nice if bar/restaurant stayed open longer then 9pm
