Hotel AKA Alexandria

I travel several times a week. This is the worst hotel experience I have had in years. The staff - barring a couple of exceptions ( Bar tender / waiters/ Valet) couldn’t care less about the clients. The room was dirty..

The staff was wonderful as always. The carpet in the room I was assigned is in desperate need of a deep steam cleaning. The AC was not as cool as the reading on the thermostat.

It screamed luxury which is what you want when you travel. Beautiful property and room. Great dining room and friendly staff.

The hotel was beautiful. The moment we pulled up customer service was amazing! The valet the associate checking us in all amazing and welcoming ! The room was spacious, clean and smelled amazing !! Absolutely loved how comfortable the bedding was and location is excellent for a night out and getting to DC no hassle!!

I was also disappointed with the amenities provided. The bathroom only included lotion, with very limited toiletries available. Considering the price of the hotel, I expected a more complete set of amenities. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and provided a good night's rest. However, overall, the room felt fairly basic for a 4-star hotel and did not fully meet my expectations for the price.

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The property was beautiful, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully maintained. The amenities were excellent, and every staff member we encountered was professional, welcoming, and attentive. One feature we especially appreciated was the valet parking. While there is a fee, the convenience was well worth it and made our stay much easier. The location was another major highlight. We loved being within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and local attractions, which allowed us to leave the car behind and simply enjoy exploring the area on foot. The hotel was also centrally located to all of the activities we had planned throughout the weekend. A special thank you to Amarri, Isaiah, Nigel, and Marvin and Viktor who was the newest bartender to join the hotel during our stay. Their outstanding customer service truly elevated our stay. They were friendly, helpful, attentive, and consistently went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality made us feel valued and welcome throughout our visit. If you're looking for a beautiful hotel with exceptional service, a great location, and a team that genuinely cares about its guests, I highly recommend Hotel AKA Alexandria. Clean room, spacious. However the AC was quite noisy. Steamer didnt work. I told them and staff brought me an iron instead. I said ok but gave instructions for them to bring me a working steamer next day but it never came throughout my 6 days stay.

I stayed here for memorial day weekend and had an amazing stay. I will definitely recommend this hotel. It’s the perfect location near multiple restaurants and shops. Staff were amazing and we loved the aesthetic. I can’t wait to return.

Other than that, the staff was amazing, probably the best staff members I’ve interacted with! Do thank you to them and I might return because of them.

Not sure what the 'resort fee' is all about. Also the $25 credit per stay (as indicated in expedia) was not known or honoured by the hotel.

Staff at the front desk were exceptionally warm and helpful. The hotel was modern, sleek and well designed. The property overall was well kept and clean. The location was 15-20 minute drive into DC which was perfect, and about a 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station.

The staff was the friendliest I've ever encountered in any hotel. The valet service for my car was prompt and friendly. The room was modern and comfortable. The bathroom felt like home. Overall, the hotel is quiet, visually stunning, and comfortable. My only quibble was with the restaurant or I had breakfast. The server got my order wrong and the food was somewhat cold. That can be remedied.

Nice quiet location, classy hotel, lovely room. The hotel is a bit dark for my taste, but that would probably be nice on a hot summer day, while we were there on a gray, chilly weekend. Pet fee is very steep…make sure to ask before you commit.

My husband and I are regulars there but this time it was a different stay. We heard doors slamming in the zen area and we never received a microwave we requested twice.

This hotel was beautiful. We were greeted out front with valet. Check in was super easy and our room was adorable. The art throughout the hotel is stunning. We had a little balcony that looked out on the terrace where they had fire pits and such. Our room was lovely, modern, and beautiful. Would definitely stay here again!

Its location is just okay. It is called Old Town North, but not an easy walk to Old Town. You can take the free shuttle, but I would have enjoyed more things to do within walking distance to the hotel.

the hotel is beautiful, good location but dark inside not enough light to make it bright. even the breakfast - dinner room is dark. hard to read the menu. I don't know why they keep it's dark, but I don't have any desire to book a room there again

Only downsides would be that service at the restaurant could have been better, and the room did not have complimentary tea like the sign mentioned. That being said, I would stay again.

Super luxury and clean

My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend getaway, and will 100% be staying here again if we’re ever in the Alexandria/DC area. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff - from the front desk to the bar - is amazing, and the room was clean and large (king with Juliet balcony). Valet parking (additional cost) is an option, but since there was street parking available, we chose to not valet the car. There are restaurants in walking distance, if you don’t want to take advantage of the hotel’s lounge, plus more located near the water just about 10 mins away. I highly recommend AKA Alexandria!

The staff was AWESOME! FANTASTIC!, when I checked in on Thursday and when I left on Saturday! The valet staff just as Awesome also. The waiter in the restaurant friendly nice and so hospitable so nice to have a him so courteous. The manager of the restaurant was just as courteous loved the atmosphere, bartender Friday night AWESOME also. 5 STAR

Best hotel in Alexandria hands down and I’ve stayed at all of them. Customer service at AKA is 12/10. Isaiah with the concierge team is delightful, I’ve worked with him multiple times over multiple stays, he’s always so attuned to guests having an exceptional experience. And everyone else is so lovely as well, from the servers, to managers, to concierge team. Vibes here are chic and relaxed. Can’t say enough good things.

Good morning, I wanted to let you know first of all that the reason I treated myself with this room is that I lost my father last month. I really wanted this to be special, the suite to myself, and it’s been a bit of a disappointment. First of all I paid extra to have this room and I told the receptionist after check in that I had hoped for something a little bit more special, and she didn’t do anything to try to fix the room. Secondly, the room really wasn’t very clean. For example, the coffee machine still had a coffee pod inside of it and there was water flooding it and all of the tray that was holding it. Example number two is the drinks fridge is very untidy. In fact, of the three bottles of Voss water, which I was really looking forward to drinking this morning, two have been tampered with. One of them has been opened, probably refilled and closed, but the seal is broken. Another of them is half full with the seal broken and what is it doing in my drinks bin? That’s so disappointing. I tell you that because I don’t want the next guest to have to see the dirty condition of drinks that have been half open because I have to tell you that that made me feel pretty crappy. Not only that, but I don’t want to be charged for Voss Water that I did not touch. Lastly, I did tell you before I came here that I was treating myself, and that’s why I wanted to have a special room, and I really feel like you all didn’t go out of your way to make this a special experience.

Our room was pristine. Isaiah displays unbelievable customer care with his colleagues…along with the housekeeping staff and valets. This hotel has easy access to all the museums in the district. It will always be my first choice in Alexandria.

Great room but the deposit fee was a bit fishy to me. When I got there they said everything was paid in full and I just had to pay the $450 deposit fee for 3 nights and I would get it back after checkout but I only got a fraction of that back. I was told only after I checked out about their destination fee where they charge you for their gym…..

Room wasn’t sound insulated at all. I could hear conversations and the unit above I could hear walking and stomping. Food was disgusting. The staff were great except for the front desk who took my email to use for reasons I did not give permission

The hotel is modern and very clean. Very dark but nicely decorated. It was probably just not a good fit for us. Not a cozy vibe. Too far from King Street. This is our 3rd hotel in Old Town this year and my least favorite but most likely personal preference. Nice staff.

Staff was courteous! Amenities and travel access are excellent! Unfortunately, there has been a constant theme of insufficient cleaning in our rooms. Subpar bathroom cleaning, shower drainage issues…along with dirty linens and at this visit..hair on shower walls and floors. All issues are always addressed, but this hotel is too lovely to have mediocre cleaning in the rooms.

Another wonderful stay at the AKA Alexandria. We have been several times and it never disappoints. The vibe of the hotel is amazing. The decor is awesome—so is the staff. The terrace is fabulous, as is the media room. The neighborhood is safe and extremely walkable. The food options are endless, including the hotel’s own bar and restaurant. As long as the level of service received stays the same, we will continue to return.

The hotel smelled great upon entrance. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. It had a minimalist zen vibe. No ice bucket in room and the ac unit inside the room was noisy. The overnight valet option is $44 but be mindful of a hidden $25 charge tacked on to that. Parking seemed limited and we were kinda forced to do the valet. The valet guys and personnel at the counter were friendly and welcoming. The location was great for Old Town, enjoyed our stay.

Everyone one was professional and courteous from the front desk staff to the bartender. The hotel is decorated with amazing art and furniture. It was so clean and tidy. The area it’s located in is peaceful and quiet with restaurants near by. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Once I booked the room the hotel contacted me via email to inquire about the occasion. When I noted it was due to a delayed birthday celebration, in addition to asking if there was anything they could do to make the stay special, they had a handwritten note and a small box of chocolates waiting on the table in our room.

Quiet comfortable room with lots of space. Just a short walk to old town for sit down dining. Also very close to Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's for snacks. The bakery in the building has croissants to die for and some GF options. The staff is certainly top notch.

After a tough travel day of long delays and a cancelation, it was very comforting to spoil myself a bit. The room was a perfect spot for that - comfy and clean with luxurious touches that elevated the experience. Arrived feeling tired and frustrated, left feeling refreshed and renewed.

high. $78 for breakfast - 2 Glasses of OJ, 1 Croissant with fruit and 1 Eggs Benedict 2 coffees. Had to call Front Desk to get house keeping to clean the room and still had to chase down a house keeper. This was close to 3:00 PM. This happened each day. Staff was very friendly.

This property is beautiful very quiet and serene. I had an experience with a front desk personnel named Ernesto who was very disrespectful. But the general manager and another staff member named Isaiah were VERY HELPFUL AND AMAZING. They were super sweet, professional and respectful. They truly turned my experience around for the better. They have exceptional customer service and I really appreciated all they did to take care of me. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be returning.

The dining experience was excellent, and the bar was a true highlight. The drinks were top-tier, and the vibe was perfect for unwinding in the evenings. Huge shout-out to the fantastic bar staff Quinn, Jeremiah, and Jasmine for making each visit enjoyable with great conversation and expertly crafted cocktails. We also loved exploring Alexandria on the complimentary e-bikes provided by the hotel such a fun and easy way to see the area and take in the historic charm. The gym was absolutely beautiful, clean, modern, and well-equipped. I really enjoyed using the equipment and appreciated having such a great space to get in a good workout during the stay. We did have a minor issue with an odor in our room upon arrival, but the staff responded quickly and handled it efficiently. Their professionalism and prompt attention really stood out. Special thanks to Isaiah, Nigel, and Christina on the hotel staff for being so helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. Isiah was my first experience with particular property . He assisted my over the phone when i called to inquire about the location and amenities. He explained how the property was nestled in a residential area ,location of several eateries and the distance from the property to Washington. Oh don't let me forget the the valet staff...They are fast efficient and professional. My husband didn't like valet service but loves it thanks to this staff. I recommend to anyone traveling to the D.C area and need to book a hotel ...Book here..its pleasant clean and peaceful. We will definitely be back

Cool art work . The hotel had an interesting Japanese/Scandinavian feel= clean lines, good design. The bed was wonderful. We liked the extra space. Perfect location right off the GW Pkwy. Walkable to good restaurants and wonderful old area nearby.

very nice stay with family. rooms are very clean, great bathroom, quiet, modern.

The location was good. We had a room with the balcony view of the courtyard, which was very nice. The equipment in the gym was excellent and we also used the E bikes that they make available to guests, fun.

Nice modern hotel not too far from DC. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with good food options near by. Staff was quick with requests for towels and amenities.

Amazing modern place to stay in Alexandria off the beaten path. Highly recommend.

Great stay overall. only issues was that our room was advertised as sound proof but we definitely were able to hear the guest in the other rooms.

This is a beautiful, modern hotel. The staff here is so accommodating and helpful. The location is great. We had an issue with a room and they moved us over and comped a night no questions asked. This is our hotel of choice when we are are in the area.

All around great hotel, chic decor, friendly staff, 15 min walk from main Alexandria nightlife area. My only complaint was the extremely loud air con units.

Excellent food in restaurant. Nice people at front desk. Very dark lobby, so first impression is not positive. Lounging/sitting areas were nice. Cafe was good. Will try someplace else next time we are in Old Town Alexandria.

Electrical issues (suite blackout), the loudest HVAC fans known to mankind. More fashion than function (or comfort).

Simply one of the best hotels I have stayed at and certainly one of the best in terms of value. Spotless, smells great, super clean, friendly and attentive staff.

Once we were moved to the suite we reserved the next day, everything was ok. However, the initial experience of being reassigned to another room left us with a bad experience in this hotel overall.

The best hotel .

The room was nice. The tub in the bathroom was a great size, but its plug was finicky (I wasted a lot of water trying to fill it up, before realizing it wasnt screwed on all the way). The room's view was pretty. The staff was great!

This hotel is beautiful and offers excellent customer service. Nigel at the front desk was so polite and welcoming. Every staff member I encountered acknowledged me and made me feel welcomed. I will be back.

This property was amazing. I’ve heard great things and it did not disappoint. From the staff to the lobby bar to the cinema room to the rooftop to the proximity to tons of things in Old Town, I’ll be back.

Wonderful property in a great location right in Old Town Alexandria and a 15 minute drive to the sights in DC like the Lincoln memorial, national monument, and multiple museums. The hotel staff were amazing and the rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay!

10/10 would recommend!
