Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location near the metro, restaurants, and groceries. The staff is frequently praised for being friendly and courteous. However, there are several complaints about hidden fees, particularly for parking, and some guests have encountered issues with room cleanliness and maintenance.

Great hotel to stay at if planning on using the metro to get into D.C. That is really the reason we stayed here this year. The hotel is old. You can tell the lobby is nicely updated but the rooms are a completely different story. We were on the top floor and there was a larger crack in our window. The room stunk terribly (like must/rotten egg). The shower needs some work. The beds were very comfortable though! We were out of soap upon arrival and when we went back downstairs to head to town for the evening the front desk attendant said she’d look to see if she can give us some. We told her we were not going back to the room and asked if they can just put it in our room while we are gone and she said sure….that night we came in to check to see if it was done and she said no, she just was going to wait for us to come back to do it…no big deal but rubbed me wrong. When traveling home we recognized we were changed 2 additional times (over $250 more than expected) so I called back. The guy who answered was very helpful and was able to figure everything out for us and assured we would be refunded by that Friday. Sure enough we were!

Ripped off 210 dlrs. Made reservation got screwed over. Don't use Expedia or this listed holiday inn , ripped off homeless n broke already and they peeled me 215 out the 300 I had. Pathetic people. Unreal , never again .

Our stay began disappointingly. We wanted to do early check in but they said no (and the woman behind the desk was a bit rude) then they gave early check in to the patron who came in right after us. The room itself felt a little dumpy, particularly the bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable though. The lobby smelled awful on more than one occasion during our visit. Would not stay here again.
- 2/5
Dated Hotel in need of renovation. Elevators are very old and one out of service. Room is spacious but not welcoming. Bathroom is small with old fixtures. Property is surrounded by highways and windows are not sound proof. Very expensive for what is offered to guests; not worth it.

Continental Breakfast cost too much money and it wasn’t very good.

It was cold and breakfast was not 100% included like it was listed online. You only receive $16 vouchers for adults but breakfast was more then that and it was not good.

Nothing. Multiple windows are broken and they all looked dirty. Elevator was out of order. We decided not to stay after seeing the condition of the hotel and the hotel refused to refund our money.

Location was the main reason we chose this hotel. We were spending our days in DC. The hotel is a really short walk to the Metro train station. There is also a Starbucks, CVS, WEGMANS an easy walk to the hotel. The room was good. Comfortable beds, clean, good water pressure. WiFi was slow but functional

There’s a few little issues the tub shower thing doesn’t pull up so that the water is coming out of where it would fill the tub and the shower and spraying all over the shower curtain did not stay closed while I was showering and there’s some molding in front of the bathroom sink that is in need of repair. Otherwise the room is clean and fairly comfortable.

Great room for short stay. Clean and cozy
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, easy access from highway.
- 1/5
The bathrooms were in poor condition, the beds were extremely uncomfortable with almost no support, and overall the rooms did not feel cared for. The staff didn’t seem interested in helping or ensuring a good stay — it was more like they just wanted to get you checked in and checked out as quickly as possible. I’ll gladly pay a little more next time and stay somewhere else. This place just isn’t worth it.
- 5/5
Very nice accommodations & staff. Love amenities like microwave & refrigerator & walking distance to metro.
- 1/5
When I booked my room, I purchased the breakfast package for $19, which was advertised as including free breakfast. However, upon arrival, I was given a breakfast voucher valued at $16. This is concerning, as the value of the voucher does not match what I paid for the package, and the booking description suggested that breakfast would be fully covered.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Parking should be free as it's an open lot. Rooms could be updated with USB outlets. Basic breakfast prices are extremely high. I was charged the full amount of my hotel the morning of check out when the hotel stay was paid in full prior to check in. Now I have to wait for a refund on a Holiday week. That was the worse part of my stay.
- 5/5
Friendly staff

This is literally the worst experience I’ve ever had checking in a hotel and checking out, I spent a lot of money on this hotel stay to run a marathon and that is how I was treated. The person in front of me asked for late check out. I asked to speak to someone else and she said no one else was here to help me. I would like to have somebody from corporate or whatever reach out to me or I will start making some phone calls myself.

Someone entered my room at 11:30pm. They had a key that was for a different room but attempted my room in error. But, their key worked. I've stayed in this hotel MANY times, but this was my last.

Clean and well-appointed, though the $18 parking charge is grating.

The lady who checked us in was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable 🙏
- 4/5
Fine hotel for a business trip. Decent pricing. Not many amenities.
- 4/5
Hard to get on Wi Fi and needed help with TV to get it to come on.
- 4/5
There was a scent of mold or wetness the moment you went into the room. The iron was not working or broken. Other than that it was good for a two night stay. May consider other hotels with parking available.
- 4/5
with the grounds there are no signs for entry or exit. Some of the interior needs work like the elevator. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. And what food and drink I had was excellent.
- 4/5
Self parking, but they charge for it daily on top of the room charge. No USB outlets in my room. I had a mobility accessible room (817), and it was spacious and comfortable. The only issue was that the shower stall was narrow and they have a curved shower curtain which hangs outside the stall. There is no lip on the stall and I had to put the rolling cart the towels are on up to the stall to hold the curtain inside it, otherwise all the water goes on the floor. And since I needed a shower chair there was very little space to move without pushing the curtain out again. This could be helped by putting in a straight curtain rod and a flexible drip edge on the stall. I shared this with the management but they didn't seem very interested in changing anything because of the need for ADA review, or so they said. The first time I showered it took two towels to mop up the floor. It's a significant safety issue if you ask me. No complimentary breakfast, just coffee. The restaurant in the hotel has a limited menu, and was understaffed.

Hotel was out dated. Our original room on the second floor smelled horrible. It smelled like mildew and cigarettes. There were dogs barking. Our second room didn’t smell as bad but it was super humid and stuffy. The bathroom was falling apart. Would not recommend. Hotel staff that checked in was terrible.
- 3/5
I asked for a blanket to be delivered to my room. No one ever came. It was freezing in my room, very uncomfortable. I had to turn off the total system.
- 5/5
The stay was great. Finding the hotel was a bit confusing.
- 2/5
One last thing: after 2 nights eating in their bar, I chose to bring my food on my 3rd night, I only ask for an empty glass to pour my wine in my room, they said manger didn’t allow glass in the room. Sometimes these little details can ruin your whole experience. They need to remember that a hotel is were one person wants to be treated well and at home, not a stranger. I didn’t feel at home in this hotel. I used to have good times in Holidays Inn, but based on this property , I wouldn’t pay more tan $99 a night.

We saw bugs in the room and it had a funky smell as well as telling the front desk and they did nothing about the bugs barley even apologized. I will never stay here again.

Convenient hotel located near the yellow metro line, close to highway, offers a great location for Alexandria and Washington. Clean, quiet, spacious rooms, well equipped, good staff.
- 4/5
Loved the view from the room. Very clean, but elevators needed upgrade. The area around is very nice and close to the highway.
- 3/5
The bathroom was recently renovated which was good. However the peeling wallpaper and mirror frame makes it look rundown. They sent me a text to ask when I would check in, and also a text and email asking me to let them know if I needed anything. I responded to both with request but got no response to my request. The only response was that the email was unmonitored. I finally got through to them on the phone after many attempts. Poor customer responsiveness.

I hadn't stayed in a Holiday Inn in a while, and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was updated, clean, quiet and comfortable. I'll stay again!

It took over an hour to check, for the first 25 minutes of waiting no one was even at the front desk. When checking out, they charged an additional 18 dollars for overnight parking.
- 4/5
This was a good hotel. I’ve been here before I do think it needs to be updated. The restaurant is very nice and I just missed happy hour at the bar, but the bartender was very nice and accommodating. The burger I had was absolutely delicious. The room was older beds were comfortable good for one night but it’s extremely noisy because it’s right by 495. The air conditioner is extremely noisy as well so I did not get a good night rest. I was really afraid that the tub had some issues underneath because it was like it was creaking and popping when I stepped into the shower so that might need to be updated. Overall, a good stay love the area really close to everything
- 5/5
Great for overnight
- 3/5
No airport shuttle pick up. Breakfast is make to order with limited to max $18 dollar which barely covers one omelette dish. No free coffee for the breakfast! Also they are so strict with extension of the check out time that after your check out time, they charge $50 for every hour!

Bad: I prepaid for my stay with a cc and used a debit card for the required $150 "incidentals" charge. Unfortunately, my card was charged an additional $180 in various charges and fees. The manager assures me they were reversed, but I still haven't seen the $ in my bank account.

I have stayed multiple times at this location. By far. This is the worst experience at this location. The cleanliness at this location has gone downhill I was informed is under new management shower curtain was filthy and I even had a used up wash rag left in the bathtub upon entering the room. We also informed front desk mini fridge was not working and they never came up to resolve issue.

1. Given a mobility room which was not suitable for the fully able bodied. 2. A squeaky bed every time we moved. 3. Supposed to be coffee in the room but all the capsules were green tea. 4. The room was not made up during our two day stay. 5. Initially charged $150 for incidentals, which is understandable. But then additionally mysteriously charged another $156. I repeatedly tried to get the charge reversed during my stay but was unable to do so. 6. The location is in the middle of nowhere. One supermarket within walking distance but not much else. 7. Parking charge of $16 a night, even though there is no supervision of the parking lot. 8. Staff were pleasant but unhelpful with all of these issues. I certainly would not return.

I didn't like the fact that I talked to the hotel staff and I was promised a discount which I never received. Once I arrived at the hotel, I informed the staff. The tv in my room was not working. They did nothing about it. Also i had to pay for parking and that was never discussed I will never stay at this hotel and i will definitely pass on to my family and friends to never stay here.

Pillow case were not clean, charged my card twice, still trying to get refund. Did receive breakfast vouchers until the last day. Website said indoor pool, no pool.

This hotel elevator barely worked and it was old, I booked a king room and was on the 5th floor, the AC did not work in my room. I had to ask for another room but the front desk clerk acted like she didn’t even want to give me another room. Also incidentals are $150. Parking is also an additional $18. Any other holiday in the incidentals is $50 & parking is free. I have no idea why it costs that much when the elevators and ac don’t work. Breakfast is $16 Don’t stay here, you’re honestly paying for the convenience of the area bc it’s right in the middle of everything by the bridge. The lorton VA holiday in is by FAR better, updated, free breakfast, & has free parking.

The hotel is nice but the pricing is what I disliked most. Was told one thing at checkin just to be charged something different at check out.
- 4/5
It was an okay stay. Staff was extremely nice and helpful
- 2/5
There were hair strands on the bed and there is I believe pubic hair in the bathroom. The rooms’ temperature is not comfortable. We had to go down the lobby since the phone in the room can’t contact the front desk. Staff are helpful though.

I booked a king size bed, and got two queens. I asked why and they said they had none available. The air conditioner did not cool down the room very well. Didnt work hardly. Bed was hard as a rock, and the people next door was smoking weed I believe and it smelled horrible.

We kindly requested a quiet room, not next to the elevator, but we were given a room next to the elevator.( Allegedly, the heat was not working above 7th floor.) We got another room, surprise, on the 7th floor!! The heat was working, not great, but ok. Stained carpet, outdated furniture, unpleasant smell. Fine desk receptionists, and good distance to the subway. We will have business in the area next month, but we will not return.

Copier or printers did not work Hotel restaurant service was great.
- 4/5
Very convenient when using the metro. Comfortable bed. Clean overall but needs updates and better lighting.
- 3/5
The whole hotel needs a couple of updates. The pool was closed, the second entrance was permanently closed, the elevators make strange noise, the water fountain in the gym had water but no cups, the batteries in the TV remote were almost dead.
- 3/5
My coffee cup was not replaced next day

Room was standard. Beware of unauthorized charges and additional fees! I don’t have a pet and was changed a $100 pet fee. It's been over a week, talked to two different people and left voice mails. I haven't received neither a phone call or a revised invoice to refund the $100 plus tax
- 3/5
I think it was crazy that they Didn’t honor a note from a physician for a pet for anxiety!!!
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Hallway smelled like chemicals. Room was clean but facility doesn't appear to be maintained well.
- 3/5
This is an old property. The mirror in the bathroom was old and tattered. The shower head was coming detached from the shower wall. The room was clean, however, and we were able to check in early. I appreciated the convenient, hassle-free parking. The staff were friendly.
