Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects such as parking, breakfast, and minor issues with the rooms.
- Great location close to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Parking is expensive and valet service is not always efficient
- Breakfast is not free and the quality varies
- 5/5
On early check out, minimal staff was available. This is understandable on a Sunday. But the inconvenience was quickly resolved.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. It was clean, smelled good, and was in a safe area. Close walking of about 5 minutes to the old town area.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The property was in close proximity to dining and the metro.
- 3/5
There was mold in the shower. Check in staff were unwelcoming. Check out staff were very good. For the high price of the rooms, it was insulting to see they expected $3 for a small bottle of water in the room when all orher hotels leave complimentary water. Overall we were left with the impression that it was not a positive work environment.
- 4.5/5
Spacious reception area with food/snacks available for emergency. Rooms give ample space as well. Small portion of ala carte breakfast though staff (old but very good guy) was very accommodating and explains all options available. Wi-Fi during our stay is intermittent. Does not connect automatically when you go back to to the hotel.

Clean, well-maintained hotel that's only a five minute walk from the Alexandria/King Street metro stop. A ten-minute metro ride to Reagan Airport.

Valets were great.

hotel was fine
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay and the valet parking made it worry free. Definitely recommend.
- 3/5
Location is great. Your staff are all really wonderful. Not enough water pressure for the shower. The breakfast is not great given what we have to pay for it.

Arrived and went upstairs which was the only minor ok not great thing on property. The staff was nice, front desks personnel helped me a few times. The dinning staff ladies were friendly. I enjoyed fresh water to refill and go. The rooms were very clean and everything working. Liked the wireless prineter feature to print my tickets.

Great facilities, friendly staff

Great customer service. Clean and quiet environment.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were exceptionally accommodating and helpful. Thank you!
- 5/5
Convenient location, quiet, nice rooms
- 3/5
The room was brutal how warm it is and the thermostat had a self timer to shut off. It probably was 76 in the room and we couldn’t get it to cool down. This is becoming common at hotels I think with motion sensors but this alone we probably wouldn’t stay here again.
- 0.5/5
They canceled my reservation after we arrived. Due to somebody being sick and vomiting all over our room. I didn’t like that they canceled my appointment and sent me to another hotel when I was on a time constraint and needed to get to a hotel room
- 1/5
Air conditioning was broke for my 3 days stay there.
- 5/5
Issac greeted us with a smile, engaging us with care for our stay. Like a long lost friend. The room was clean, well maintained and quiet. Meeting our expectations of a Hilton. As always the location at the King Street metro could not be any more convenient for access to the DC region. This property will be in my stable of options

Note: They do have an additional deposit (ours was $150 for 3 nights) that is refunded at check out if there are no damages.

Superb

Accommodations were very comfortable. Cost for valet parking was steep for one night. Everyone was super kind, the bar was closed for the night which we don’t get away much so a small disappointment there. Very kind staff.

- 5/5
Clean room and good breakfast.
- 4/5
Yes the room was spotless, the front desk was definitely very helpful
- 5/5
Upgraded to another room with ease.
- 4/5
The staff is great, courteous and helpful. It is very clean. One of the elevators makes an awful screeching sound that seems very bad. But it did work.
- 5/5
There wasn’t a free breakfast.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 3/5
Hotel is nice but parking is $40 unless you want to wait until 9pm to park on the street, but you have to wake up before 8am to move it otherwise you’ll get a ticket.
- 5/5
Room was clean and very nice.
- 5/5
Nick was awesome
- 5/5
The property was well kept, and charming. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was cleanly and welcoming .
- 5/5
Good Hotel. Friendly Staff.
- 5/5
A nice place near the transit hub at King Street metro stop
- 5/5
Great location! Convenient to the train and surrounded by wonderful dining, shopping and history.
- 5/5
This hotel was in a great location. Just a block away from King street where we could hop on and off the trolly
- 1/5
I was in town to do hair and go to a wedding. My reservation was changed last minute to a sister hotel so I was never able to stay here, where I was originally booked. I was not pleased but there was no offer of compensation for the inconvenience.
- 5/5
Excellent staff Mayte was so welcoming
- 2/5
For the cost I paid unacceptable ! One ply toilet paper , no note pads pencil or even a pen. Just got ambushed came from Arizona to this not acceptable. Get better , Find A Way stop being cheap to your customers.
- 5/5
staff on the site were very friendly and extremely helpful
- 5/5
Entire sraff was courteous and helpful. Only an overnight stay but all went well.
- 4/5
Wish they offered a free breakfast buffet. We paid $19.95 per person with limited options- no waffle maker- staff was always very friendly throughout the hotel though.
- 4/5
We loved the lobby. It was great being able to greet our family as they arrived and hangout as a group. If someone wanted a drink or snack we were able to do so without leaving the hotel.
- 5/5
However, there was NO denial in my services. The staff was quite amiable and courteous. The location was great for our needs. Everything was quite nice and appropriate. Thank you
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Free parking would be nice
- 4/5
No parking, $40 for overnight valet is robbery, limited services.
- 4/5
Would stay again.
- 5/5
Overall nice hotel. Location is good for DC and Northern Virginia. They don’t always have enough spaces for parking on the hotel property which could cause an inconvenience.
- 5/5
liked the location, the efficiency of the staff, and the quiet.
- 5/5
Stay started by being greeted by friendly staff at the valet stand as well as front desk. Room was spacious, clean and accommodating. It was late so I opted to have dinner at the hotel and the server was wonderful! The area is safe, lovely with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel!
- 4/5
Housekeeping came in on day 2 which does not happen at other properties. We appreciated the room refresh. Hotel had a number of competing, weird odors. Man who checked us in was pretty bland and seemed distracted.
- 5/5
Was pleasantly surprised by this 3.5 star hotel. Very clean, large rooms, walkable to lots of things. Near the metro. Great experience.
- 3/5
Nice place to stay. Not super updated, especially the bathrooms. They seemed to have issues with all the community bathrooms as 6/7 were broke.
- 5/5
Great staff!
- 5/5
Fresh coffee in lobby available, very comfortable bed, every staff member was courteous and helpful. A handheld shower spray would be convenient
- 4/5
Internet is complicated for seniors like my wife and I, Staff are nice
- 5/5
Front desk staff were exceptional. Nice, fresh facility that was very clean and quiet. Great location to metro and old alexandria shops and restaurants. Perfect launch pad for our DC visit.
- 4/5
Location was great, but for the price of the rooms and then having to pay for the restaurants and the rude service they offer would not want to stay again.
- 3/5
Great location for what we wanted for our short stay. This was our second time here. What we were disappointed in this time was the poor water pressure in the shower, the tv kept blacking out every 30 seconds or so, some of the pillows are worn out.
- 5/5
This is great hotel
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The location is very convenient to all that Alexandria has to offer and safe neighborhoods to walk. Will definitely stay again next time n the area.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay, a great location that is close to the metro and Amtrak.
- 2/5
Entire lobby area was FILLED with flys and gnats, from the bar, to the tables, and even into the back of the lobby just in the chairs. There was no good place to hangout unless you wanted to put up with that. The trashcans in the lobby when you would toss trash into them would have dozens of flies fly out - it was disgusting.
- 1/5
My room did not have any AC. They refused to change my room. They were willing to cancel it and leave me to book another room somewhere else at 6:30 at night. It was perfect. Yes. That’s sarcasm. It’s not possible to be less helpful.
- 2/5
We checked in only to find when we got in the room that there was no air-conditioning. We called the front desk and they sent up a technician who had brought us a fan and said they had been having trouble with it and what a fan suffice. One fan and 100° weather was not gonna work we said are there any other options at first they were not very helpful and then they finally offered a room on the top floor that we could move to. a lot of anxiety not a great experience. We thought our entire weekend was gonna be ruining because of it. Finally, the manager did do the right thing by letting us move up to a more expensive room, only finally to tell us that we would not be charged at all for our stay because of the inconvenience that we were put through, however, it took several hours for us to get to that point and we were in limbo and a lot of time. We had to change our personal plans that we had counted on. We had to miss out on because of the inconvenience and spent time looking for other options at last minute
- 5/5
Nice bar/restaurant in the lobby…good food& great service
- 5/5
The location was excellent, The staff was great as well
- 5/5
It is a very nice hotel with a great location. It is valet parking only but the valet is really nice. Whenever you need your car, you go to the front desk if the valet isn't present, and they will call the valet for you. The front desk people are really nice too. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
- 2/5
We stayed 3 nights with 2 rooms. My 89 year old dad in one of the rooms. The 3rd night we had no air and no lights in the bathroom or hallway. My dad uses a walker and can not see very well and he also has a prostate problem causing him to use the bathroom. He called my cell at 2:00 in the morning and i had to go to his room because he fell and needed my help. I tried to get another room for him before this happened and they said they would get back to me. I explained this the the front desk when checking out ans he said we would hear from his manager. We have yet to hear from anyone!
- 5/5
All I HAVE TO SAY IS MY WIFE AND I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!
- 5/5
The room was very clean.
- 5/5
Had a great stay here. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Great front desk staff
- 4/5
Staff awesome . Cleaning service not good . Left dirty glasses and garbage for 3 days
- 5/5
This hotel was great! I stayed for DC music weekend. Great location int terms of getting to the metro. Hotel was clean, up to date, and comfortable! We were truly impressed with our stay
- 3/5
Great location
- 5/5
Our stay was great. The property is in a good location and it was clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly. My two complaints were the $43/night price tag for parking and $18 pp for breakfast. We didn't utilize either of these services but would have if thy were more reasonable.
- 4/5
some devices out of order like ref. in the room.
- 5/5
Staff were wonderful but $40 per night for parking will prevent us from returning 😒
- 4/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable. A short walk to shops and food places. I didn’t use the train but it’s also very close.
- 1/5
Whoever checked me in had no idea what they were doing, ultimately leading to a safety issue of some random other person being given a key to my room. Valet is mandatory and an additional $40/day. Lame. Pillows sucked, bed was uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend staying here and I don't plan on returning to this hotel after these experiences.
- 4/5
Only issue was low watwer pressure in the bathroom sink. Otherwise great location near the metro and walkable to downtown Alexandria.
- 5/5
Great place
- 4/5
I feel this is a wonderful location if you’re visiting Washington DC because you are close to the Metro station. Alexandria is also nice with many shop and restaurants options. I enjoyed my stay the room was clean and the staff was nice. I would definitely stay here again !!!
- 4/5
Convenient location to Amtrak and Metro
- 5/5
The staff was exceptional
- 3/5
Solid stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Can't beat the location and the value compared to other similar tier hotels in the area. Beds are not super comfortable, but the cleanliness of the room makes up for it. I appreciate receiving texts from staff about my stay, a typical part of the HHonors experience. Our favorite part was walking on King St and getting ice cream nearby.
- 5/5
The room was quiet and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Its location was great. Close to Metro, Whole Foods and King Street
- 5/5
Was the Perfect hotel to base at for seeing the charm and quaint Old Town Alexandria and cosmopolitan DC
- 2/5
Had to change rooms in the middle of the night because the shower was not working
- 5/5
Check in was very pleasant and room was very clean and comfy.
- 4/5
First the great: Aziz and LaTonya were very friendly, very helpful and went above and beyond to help make our stay the best possible. The Hotel is in a great location, street is pretty quiet, but close enough to walk to a lot if you choose. The hotel and rooms were clean. Now the not as good: Definitely do not stay on the 5th floor. We ended up just below the gym and people working out, bouncing medicine balls, dropping weight etc woke us up at 6am - not a good start to the vacation. Thankfully, we were moved down to a room on the 3rd floor which was much better. The other items that were less than perfect for me were 1) the beds and 2) the climate control of the room. I was surprised at how uncomfortable I found the bed since we just recently stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn in Brooklyn and those beds were wonderful. This may be a personal thing though. The climate control in the room was difficult to master. It is the type of thermostat that needs specific instructions. We woke up sweltering and then freezing. Although it's is a good spot, we had a tough time with actual sleep, personally. Again, this may just be us.
- 3/5
Good experience like it!
- 5/5
Property was clean, staff were helpful and professional
- 5/5
Great location just one block off of King street. Near the Metro. Free trolly on King Street. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Staff were so friendly and hotel was very clean.
- 5/5
Perfect!
- 1/5
Business trip, 4 nights, no bed linens been changed , left trash in the room for 4 days, dirt on the floor, broken soap dispenser. Very poor. I will not return and do not recommend
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean. It was super close to the yellow & blue metro lines & just 2 stops from the airport- very convenient. We had to ask the front desk for a couple of things, and both times we got the impression we were inconveniencing them (coffee for the second morning since we opted to skip housekeeping, and a question about restaurant hours). It was a good price for the location & amenities - I’d stay here again.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 2/5
I wouldn’t book there again. We barely got help from the staff. When we arrived the parking lot was full and the hospital and they just literally said try to find street parking. They were dismissive and blamed it on an event taking place. When we asked for someone to help with luggage, they were also dismissive and said no one was available to help. We had facial hair or body hair in one of the beds in The room. One of us either developed a rash or was bitten by something while sleeping. When I called the Hilton office in the morning, they informed to expect a call to resolve the issue. No one reached out. Honestly since we were just gonna sleep for one more night I didn’t follow through but it was very disappointing. I offered to move to any other Hilton hotel and pay the difference for the night but they transferred me between people and said someone will reach back and never did. I’ve stayed with Hilton in Florida and other places never had such an experience.
- 4/5
Hotels, great overall first night someone was working out after midnight in the gym which is on the top floor so you could hear it on the fifth floor if you were in the room under the gym air-conditioning problems the first night but a great engineering employee named Wilson came in and fixed it and even brought us a box fan Only offers Valet parking which was $40 a night and we never moved car after check in.
- 5/5
Convenient to the Metro station to travel to Washington. Friendly staff, clean room, this hotel is a short distance from restaurants and stores.
- 5/5
My room was near the corner of the intersection and close to the ground, so loud trucks or cars were heard in the room. My dogs noticed more than I did, but the truck sounded like thunder. The area in front for the valet to pull the car around is limited. I missed it my first pass. Happy with my visit and I'd stay again.

Excellent experience
- 5/5
It was a very lovely area
- 5/5
Very nice accommodations. Very clean! The staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Perfect location! Metro and restaurants steps away! Excellent service at the valet and the front desk. Thank you to Isaac for all of his help, he is a very kind person! We will be back!
- 4/5
The room was clean and spacious. Only downside was the showers had low pressure. Staff was friendly and the valet was convenient and quick. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Nice hotel in a good location. Stores, dining and transportation all in walking distance.
- 5/5
Convenient and a reasonable price when booked.
- 5/5
Close proximity to transportation, dining and shopping.
- 4/5
It would have been nice to have complementary coffee or tea in the lobby
- 5/5
The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly! Absolutely would stay there again!
- 5/5
All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
It is conveniently located. The rooms are small, but clean. Parking is an additional $40 a night and there isn’t a complimentary breakfast. For the cost with parking, seems like they could afford to throw in a free continental breakfast.
- 4/5
Good for a couple of days. The breakfast buffet is too expensive $15.95 for what is actually available. Need to better identify the late night call box for customers arriving after 11pm.
- 5/5
Great location! Very professional for business travel.
- 5/5
a very clean and quite room; an excellent location - close to the historic district.
- 4/5
Attentive and professional staff.
- 5/5
My television didn't work, and they had someone come fix it within minutes of my call. I used their valet parking, and my car was always waiting by the time I got downstairs.
- 5/5
This was my first time staying in Alexandria. I had called the hotel and requested an early check-in and they were able to accommodate me. The valet and the staff were so kind. I was only there for one night, but when I do come back, this will be my hotel of choice. The room was impeccably clean, modern, and had good amenities. It is not that far from the free trolley that runs down King Street. All in all a wonderful experience all around.
- 5/5
Parking fees are too much
- 5/5
The property was neat and clean staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
- 5/5
Great Location
- 4/5
Issues I had was charging $40.00 for parking even though I was staying at the resort. Also never got reimbursed the $100.00 I was told they held in case of damage to the room.
- 5/5
The room service was great. I was having a great time staying tin his for the whole week.
- 4/5
Very clean, helpful staff
- 5/5
Room was clean & check in and out business as usual.
- 3/5
Overnight parking was $40 for valet. Free parking after 9pm on the street I had to wake up early every morning to either move the car or add time to the meter. Breakfast was not included… the shower has rust in it… probably won’t stay here again I just needed something last minute..
- 5/5
The staff was so very friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to visit this location again
- 5/5
The staff were exceptionally lovely and when asked, dedicated their attitude to the manager, who seems beloved by all.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice. The room was comfortable and had good amenities and was clean.
