    Good location very nice Staff . Staff was very knowledgeable and clean. Only issues I had was the bath tub was not fully clean there was some dirt left in the shower but other then that the stay was very comfortable and relaxing.

    I didn’t appreciate how the TV wasn’t video game friendly. The remote did not have access to the input channel in order to allow for gameplay. Also, the TV only has a power button which further limits the access on the TV to switch channels.

    There were a lot of pet rules in their pet policy that was not posted - I.e. having to crate animals if you leave them in the room alone. We didn’t bring a crate because we didn’t know that was a rule. All policies should be posted on the site to be able to better choose a hotel.

    The front desk person couldn’t give me a straight answer when I asked why the credit card # on my reservation was different from mine. Mgr on phone said 3rd party (Expedia) does it that way. Sounded shady. I cancelled my reservation. Went to different hotel. Could not talk to a human at Expedia. Horrible.

    The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for visiting Mount Vernon and anything in the DC area. The rooms are very nice and have everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The local area has great restaurants. The grounds were well kept and had great space for traveling with pets.

    I had no problems with the hotel itself, but the surrounding area is definitely not safe. My first morning after checking in, I look outside to see some person strung out on some sort of substance on their knees in the grass by the road in front of the hotel screaming nonsense into the sky then curling up on the ground, over and over.

    --- CONS: No housekeeping. No hotel breakfast. (Just free fruit.) The walls were paper thin so I could hear slamming doors, feet stomping above me, crying babies next door, music from across the hall, and dogs barking from a room halfway down the hall. I was surrounded the entire time by a constant barrage of noise. When I ultimately complained, the desk clerk was sympathetic and contacted the dogs' owners and the barking stopped, but there wasn't much she could do about the rest so I will NOT return to this hotel because of the noise factor due to the 'thin walls'.

    There was a problem with the billing. I had to call the hotel with questions about the bill that appeared on my credit card account. The general manager Oscar fixed the major problems but I still have a $5.34 charge on my bill that is unexplained. This took away what was otherwise a wonderful stay.

    After a 13 hour drive and a heck of a scare after realizing the original hotel we book was a filthy cesspool, the clerk who greeted us at 9:30pm 5-19 was an absolute angel! She was friendly and welcoming and most definitely calmed my nerves. The rooms and property were clean, comfortable, quiet and safe! I’m sorry I didn’t catch the desk clerks name but she turned our entire trip right side up and I thank her! It was my first stay at a Candlewood Suites but not my last!

    The property was undergoing renovation. I wished we had known this before booking. I am sure the renovations are necessary and will make a nicer property. However, we drove nearly 10 hours to get to this property and had less than an ideal experience due to the renovations.

    This was disappointing. Our room had an odor. The person who checked us in barely spoke two words. No explanation of where coffee was, etc. the back door was propped open several times. I had to hunt down clean towels on day 2 even though we had been out of the room all day it was not cleaned. Our keys stopped working on day 2 and because the front desk was mainly unattended people were left outside unable to even get in the lobby early in the morning. This hotel needs a major update, furniture was peeling and scratched. Super disappointing for an IHG property. Also I did not get any ihg points for my stay.

    The room… not so great. I can deal with the banged up, slightly outdated furniture, and not so comfy mattress… for the price, none of that bothered me. But two of the main reasons I chose this room (instead of the Hampton Inn next door like I normally do) is because it had a kitchen and a bathtub. However, the stove didn’t work, the coffee machine was missing the actual coffee pot, and we had no chairs (like pictured, just an office chair and the table is connected to the wall so to eat together, we had to eat in bed…. (Which, I guess was okay since the stove didn’t work anyways and we couldn’t cook a decent meal that would be better sitting down)…..and the bathtub didn’t have a drain plug… A couple of the lights did not turn on, and fan in the bathroom didn’t work, but I will say, unlike some other reviews, it was clean and we did not see any bugs or have any issues like that…. Also, the water was hot. So no problems there either…. I was only there 2 nights and didn’t realize half of the other issues until well after being settled, and I’m sure they would've accommodated me (staff was friendly for the short time I had to deal with them ) , but it was a short trip and I didn’t have time to be “that” customer….. yes, I would stay again if I wanted a cheap, but decent enough place to stay that’s clean with hot water…. At the end of the day, that’s what matters for me when I’m on a quick, last minute trip like this was.

    Extremely disappointing for a candlewood. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a location in need of improvement as much as this one. It did appear to be clean as well as they can clean it with how ruff they furniture and stuff is. The staff was friendly that was about the only plus.

    The carpeting, room furniture and other items were a bit tattered and dirty. The room was not cleaned by the staff on the overnight stay. I noticed the same dirt and debris from foot traffic when I arrived and departed two days later. They seemed understaffed, as the desk managers were cleaning and folding laundry at the check in/out desk. I expected better.

    There GM 😊 saved their day. Hotel room nice and clean spacious. I down fall they have a creepy maintenance man who lives in the hotel who can make you feel very uncomfortable with his comments also the back door was broken had to do the walk around everyday. Other than that the rest of the staff are pretty nice. Manager nice lady she cared for me to have a good stay she saved my stay since she send creppy staff member somewhere else for the weekend.

    The staff was wonderful. They were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Upon entering our room, there was a weird smell permeating from the room. There was a half eaten Subway sandwich left in the refrigerator. I booked a room with queen beds but our room had 2 full beds. When I asked at the front desk, the gentleman said that they had just reopened and he did not even check on the computer or my confirmation email on my phone to see if there was a mixup.

    So a few weeks before our trip to VA I received a call from the hotel to inform us that our reservations were being moved to a different hotel. I was skeptical until we arrived and everything for my reservation and my uncle's was flawless! The service and staff were awesome and the hotel seemed like new. We were visiting family and the rooms were plenty large enough for all if us to visit and eat together without worries of facemasks. Thank you so much for a wonderful effortless stay!

    Worst hotel I have ever been to. Service was terrible, they even made me make my own bed since the sheets were dirty. I tried to leave the hotel after finding hair in the mattress and they wouldn’t refund me. They switched me to a different room which smelt like cats. And I saw the front desk associate make the bed back up that we were recently in with the exact sheets that we had slept in from before. If you are looking to stay in Alexandria avoid this hotel at all cost!

    The customer service at this hotel is above and beyond I must say. I had a wedding to attend with my family in the area and we arrived way before check in at 1pm, we advised the staff if we can check in early to get ready for the wedding, and they accommodated us right away with no issues. Room was very clean and had all the proper amenities. I would recommend anyone to this hotel!!!

    I was informed that the system was down and that was more than an hour after check in time. No one called to inform me that the system was down and that didn't sit too well with me. After I finally got in the room, the furniture was a bit outdated and the bed seemed a bit small. I called the front desk to get some assistance with the DVD player. I could hear what was playing but couldn't see it. No one ever came to help me. There was something stuffed inside the peephole which isn't okay for people's security. The bed was comfortable and I was able to get some sleep which is why I got the room to begin with. Those are my pros and cons, do with it what you like :-)

    We booked through Expedia in October. I PAID for 2 rooms with 2 beds in each room. I called ahead and noted one family member was in a wheel chair. We were placed on the third floor and the second floor. No handicap room. One room at 2 beds. The other room had one bed. Our choice was to cram up and stay or not have anywhere to stay and we had already paid for the room!! There were 6 of us so two in each bed including Grandma had to share with one of the kids despite recent foot surgery. The walls were so thin. Everyone received a call at 9 - 10 pm at night to not "walk around" anymore because the people below can hear your "footsteps". We were in bed, one person would get out of bed to use the bathroom and we would receive a call from the front desk we were being "too noisy". It was impossible!!! It was NOT a place to stay for a vacation. Thank goodness we have older kids - I can't imagine how it was for families with small kids. They did have free washer and dryer, but they were small and took twice the amount of time to dry. Did not get what we paid for and then stuck without a choice to change because we had booked through a third party.

    I stayed at this hotel while visiting Ft Belvoir. The hotel was conveniently located and affordable. Check-in was a bit of an ordeal, with only one computer/receptionist available and other guests having issues, but I can't really fault the staff on duty. The room was comfortable, but a little run down. There was one arm-chair in the room and it was squeezed between the bed and the wall. The TV was angled toward the chair and could not be repositioned to a more comfortable viewing angle from the bed. The lamp over the desk did not work. There were no USB charging plugs. Rather than individual bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc. There were pump bottles in the shower. That's fine, but the shower gel bottle was empty.

    Probably wouldn’t stay here again. The location is good with nearby restaurants, grocery stores and things to do. The parking and kitchen are great. Our room was freezing in December. The heating system is very old, hard to manage and very loud at night. We had cold air blowing on us and it was winter. There were ants crawling on the nightstand. We only had housekeeping service on the first day, not daily. We accumulated a lot of trash since we were cooking our meals and had a baby with diapers, so not having housekeeping remove trash was discouraging. We kept getting prank calls and had to unplug the phone.

    Found this hotel because I wanted to go to Mount Vernon in the morning. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. This was easily one of the best hotels I ever stayed in by virtue of the amenities, cleanliness, and bang for your buck.
