The room smelled of cigarette smoke, no hair dryer, bed comforting was below satisfactory!!!

The hotel needs to be renovated.... It's old, the carpet, bed covers, drapes, etc really needs to be replaced. It is clean and you can't beat the price though....

Booked king with sofa pull out and paid in full at booking was told at check in mix up Happened and I got two queen beds for the price of king. The place is old and not il to date! Hand rails to stairs up loose and unstable . My reservation being changed and having to pay the same cost

This is a very basic old hotel. The room has that distinctive dank smell. Room basics were fine. No coffee make in the room. No coffee in the lobby. You get what you pay for.

The hotel was a little older but very clean, freshly painted, comfortable room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would plan to stay if ever in Albemarle again.

Best location, staff was great, the room was clean and they came in everyday and cleaned. We were there for a week and it was peaceful and so many stores in walking distance.

Location was good. It was somewhat clean and quiet. No coffee pot. No hair dryer. No pool. No continental breakfast of any kind. Not even coffee!

The location was the reason I booked it was a without frills. Basic stay the employees were friendly and offered to help carry my bags which was nice. The beds were comfortable and clean As well as the bathroom and shower I didn't feel the price was a value with the amenities offered

this hotel refused to give me my refund. I booked for two days and checked out after only staying one night. they do not give you a receipt that you even stayed there so theres no proof to show. i have yet to receive my 50 dollar deposit.

The room was perfect for what I needed for one night. It put me in a position to get where I needed to go the next day. The staff recommended a great food truck nearby.

They came to the reception desk 5 minutes after I had been waiting, he comes out with no shoes on. I don't think they have any insurance because no one was in any uniform and the door they come out of to check you in looks like they live there. They tried to keep my deposit when we only had a word of mouth agreement. There's no documentation that you even stayed there. The hall ways had empty boxes of coronas and the room smelled like feces and when I sprayed they tried to charge me.

Nothing. I can’t believe Booking.com allows this place on their site. I’ve used this site for years and now I no longer trust their recommendations. Witnessed a person shooting up IV drugs on the side of the building. A transient smoking weed in the lobby in front of the desk. Hotel wreaked of skunk and body odor. Desk person allowed me to view the room which we immediately declined. We stepped over dead roaches and grimy filth on the way to the second floor. Once inside the room I could see leftover substances on the microwave, stains on the orange 1970s sofa, broken bed frame and yellow stained sheets. Room was —- disgusting. I honestly wouldn’t let a homeless person stay there. We promptly left despite being denied a refund… we drove to Asheboro to get away from this town.

Absolutely nothing The room and hallways smelled like straight smoke and crack. If you don’t smoke your clothes will smell like smoke when you leave. The rooms looked clean but the bathroom tub looked dirty. I got nauseous in the room from how bad it smelled

It was a hour before I was supposed to leave to go on a fishing trip to Lake Tillery and I get a phone call and the man on the phone tells me that the hotel was overbooked and they could not accommodate me. He offered no help finding a place to stay or anything. He said they were renovating part of the hotel and this is why. Not like they did not know this was going on and should have adjusted the website accordingly.

This property's pictures on the site are misleading. I was very disappointed. It was very unclean, smelt bad, needs lots of repairs, and was rather unsafe. The man was nice but hard to understand him. It was a very creepy place. I will never stay there again.

The hotel was run down and dirty, from the garbage out side to the holes in the sheets. The stained up couch to the towel rack that galls off the wall when you touch it. Not a pleasant experience.

Apparently it's customary at this establishment to knock on doors and make sure you're awake to check out? We asked upon check in if late check out was possible and the receptionist acted as if it physically pained her to give us 30 more minutes. We had managers and housekeeping knocking on our door starting at 10:30am until we checked out at 11:30, and each time we informed them we had peemission to stay until 11:30, they acted irritated. It's an okay room from the price, but I wouldn't stay there again based on this experience - it was rude and we felt rushed.

this is one of the nasty hotel's I've ever stayed in, the pictures on expedia did not represent this place...i went by the pics that were on expedia....far from the truth....

This place was horrible! I'm pretty laid back, and can over look most thing... but geesh! The room, and floor was incredibly dirty. The bed, and pillows were beyond awful. Ice machine was broken, and there was a coffee pot, but no coffee/filters. Microwave had no turn table inside. There was no heater, only freezing air. Couldn't even take a bath, because neither the tub, or sink had plugs. One of the reason I picked it was, because it said it had hair dryers in the room. Which is important to me. NEGATIVE ON THAT ALSO. The giant fridge in the room only had the freezer working. Not to mention I found used condom wrappers, and balled up tissues on the floor by the TV. For $180 for two night I was mortified. I will never stay here again, and I suggest nobody else waste their money here either.

My wife and myself walked in and the entire place smelled of smoke. We went to the room and the smell of liquor all over the place was rediculous. We went back down to the office and got a refund. Went to another motel

The price was good, and the front desk clerk was friendly and polite, but most everything else was unfortunate. The front desk area and hallway were clean, with cheery carpeting, but then we got to our room. On the positive side, the bathroom was clean! Everything else was not. The carpet had some sort of stuff on it that someone had halfheartedly tried to scrape up but was unsuccessful. I don't know what it was, but if you have to question what was on your hotel rug, that's bad. The bedspreads were ridiculously old, thin and obviously hadn't been washed in a VERY long time. The sheets underneath were fairly clean thankfully. There was an odd-chemical-masking-cigarette-smell all over. My kids were grossed out and wanted to leave, but as soon as we saw the 'No Refunds' sign at the front desk, we were stuck. Mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. Maybe in the summer, the thin sheet and dirty threadbare bedspread would be enough to keep warm, but it was cold in January with only those 2 items to sleep under. There's no breakfast of any sort, but thankfully there is a good selection of fast food and family-style restaurants within a very close drive. On the positive side,the area has a decent amount of shopping and eating options, downtown Albemarle is cute, and it's less than an hour to Charlotte. I don't expect a luxurious stay for under $100 per night by any means, but 'regularly washed bedspreads' and 'not freaking my kids out' would be good.

He had the lights on and the TV on the room even had a full-size fridge and a sofa which I did not need I was just staying overnight to go to a college class the next day and the place smelled clean and it looked clean the carpet was new in my room so I would definitely stay again not a modern hotel by no means on the inside but it looks like they are trying to fix it up and make it nice

Staff was friendly and the room served its purpose however, I will stay at the Quality Inn (have previously stayed there) just across the street should I need to travel there again.

My husband and I just needed to have a place to stay overnight for our fishing trip the next day. They had an outlet out front to where we were able to park our boat and charge it. There was a mix up in the beginning about our room, but then it was fixed promptly. We were not looking for anything special, just somewhere to go to sleep and this fit perfectly.

Just for the overnight stay I didn’t feel safe at all the beds were really small the comforter look very dirty one of them was burnt with a cigarette We would be lucky if we got three hours sleep because of feeling unsafe

Short stay, staff is friendly. People are smoking in the hall way smell pretty bad. Bed is not to comfortable, you get what you paying for. Wish they provide breakfast.

The hotel was a get what you paid for situation. The room was cheap so the room quality reflected that. The bed was a brick, the ceiling was chipping, the mini fridge in the room had mold inside it. A picture is attached of the fridge. For a floor of no smoking rooms, the entire hall reeked of smoke. Overall, the hotel is not very well maintained but if you need something cheap and you're only minimally in your room, it's acceptable.

The family owners were very nice and helpful, but if only the bed had been a lot more comfortable and the entire facility didn't smell so unpleasant, then my family and I would've possibly considered staying there again. I'm a very reasonable person who by far does not expect a Ritz Carlton experience in a $60 a night hotel, but beside it being clean looking the way that this hotel in fact was, the bed cleanliness and comfort, and the scent of any hotel is my top priority in returning to a particular hotel or not.

They did not even make up the room, refill towels, wash cloths or the toilet paper. They never made the beds or emptied the trash. I had to go to front desk and ask for towels and wash cloths.
