Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness of the hotel, and its convenient location, particularly for those visiting Albany Medical Center. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the breakfast, parking, and certain aspects of the rooms such as comfort and cleanliness.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Cleanliness of the hotel
- Issues with breakfast
- Parking problems

Breakfast was to expensive should be included in room charge.wasnt hot
- 3/5
I love its free parking. Amenities are good except no disposable toothbrush and toothpaste, no disposable slipper.
- 5/5
Great location our son was having surgery at Albany Medical Center Did not know you have to swipe key to get the elevator working-was not told this. Thankfully a hotel employee came in and helped up
- 4/5
The hotel is decorated tastefully. The breakfast buffet was well worth the price ( except for the cranberry juice which was starting to go bad - that tangy taste and tingly on tongue). Pool area definitely needs an upgrade also. Apparently there was a hot tub before. All they did was tile over the space. Every single tile in the pool area is a shad of beige- no plants, very few chairs. Our room was very nice. A secure bar in shower, lots of hot water, very clean, refrigerator, small microwave, and a coffee pod maker.

It was beautiful, clean, friendly staff, perfect location. Recovery Room was awesome. 10 out of 10! I had talked to another woman who had stayed and she got her room for about $100 than I did by going straight to the Hilton website. I like going through Booking.com and I was a little bummed

Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff.
- 5/5
This was my third time staying at this property and as always the staff was amazing! The property was clean and well kept. The gym and pool area were easily accessible and kept stocked with supplies. The only downside to this property is the availability of parking. If you come in later in the day the lot fills up quickly.

Towels felt really scratchy and rough. I was told the pool was fine. For changed, got my son changed and went down. The pool was then out of order. Very frustrating since my son was very excited to swim since he was getting surgery the next day. It is a very nice hotel but really bummed about the pool.

We were there because it is right next to Albany Medical Center. They were extremely helpful. It was restful and provides a bit of sanity when you need it due to a family member that is going to the hospital for surgery. This is where you want to be.
- 5/5
Forgot medication in room and they promptly had it couriered to us!

Lots of noise from hospital ambulances but that is out of the hotels control

Bathroom toilet did not work when I entered room, but was promptly fixed. Floor tile grout could use a cleaning. I had one strand of long hair in one of my towels. Otherwise, the room itself was clean.

- 4/5
The heating/air-conditioning unit was not working properly and this was not discovered until 8 PM so we lived with it.
- 5/5
Not their fault but I couldn't stay longer as they were sold out to some kind of event. I had to drive back and forth from Vermont, :(
- 4/5
I also do not like how the bathroom door when opened is such a interference with all of the other doors (entry and closet) Location was great. The room was clean and very acceptible. Staff was awsome!
- 4/5
It seems like a great hotel, and i also enjoyed the breakfast (though the omlet was smaller than i expected it was still good) however the pool was under mantainance and was one of the reasons that we chose this location... I know everyting needs to be cleaned at some point so i understand. I also do not like how the bathroom door when opened is such a interference with all of the other doors (entry and closet) Location was great. The room was clean and very acceptible. Staff was awsome!

- 5/5
Staff helped beyond the expected, and access to the hospital couldn’t be better.
- 5/5
Beautiful and relaxing decor. The staff was pleasant.
- 2/5
room was old and restaurants were not good.
- 2/5
Upon checking in, registration was on the second floor a room key needed to move elevator which I didn’t have yet. My daughter was receiving surgery at medical center and there was only outdoor access to the hospital. We got our room., and entered the sheets looked used the bathroom smelled of excrement and the floor was filthy. At 4am fire alarms went off and we evacuated to the outside my daughter was freezing having been through surgery witThe stay was a nightmare.h no hotel staff guiding our evacuation. Upon re entry to the building they couldnot turn off the strobing lights of the fire alarms in rooms. When morning came there was only complimentary coffee. Offered.
- 3/5
Room was good. Staff was great. Problem was the fire alarm went off around 330am and strobe lights continued to flash for about 2 hours more, making it impossible to fall back to sleep. Outside temp was negative 23 with wind chill
- 5/5
Great for the price!
- 5/5
The room was very clean. The staff at the front desk were wonderful. Sam was very professional. The cook Jackie was very pleasant. I will definitely be booking here again. Food and staff were too notch.

For our lifestyle, guest room servicing could come 'round after 11:00AM. This way we'd be sure to be out (without a hang tag on the door) when they arrive on those alternate room servicing days.
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and answered all my questions about parking and the hospital.
- 5/5
The hotel was in a great location to stay while I had a family member in the hospital across the street. It wasn't super busy and the front desk staff was great about letting us check in about an hour early and getting extra coffee pods and a toothbrush that was forgotten at home. We also accidentally left a hat and they agreed to hold it at the desk until I could return to pick it up a couple days later. There were a couple of tiles in the entry to the room that were popping up, but overall a great stay. I didn't have breakfast there due to my family member in the hospital but the restaurant on site was good as well.
- 3/5
The room was decent - we had the presidential suite for the night for a doctors appointment. The fireplace was super nice! But the rest felt a little empty. Lots of floor space and closet space, but not having anything in the kitchen (utensils, plates, cups, etc.) was a little annoying. View was beautiful, staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Helpful and friendly staff. Pool temperature is perfect for the winter- nice and warm.
- 4/5
Full parking lot, but we made it work. We changed room because of a strange smell in our first room. Front desk was excellent and helpful!
- 5/5
Nice place and restaurant was great. Perfect if you are at the hospital for any reason as it attached.
- 3/5

- 5/5
It was great: clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was not included so didn’t try.
- 5/5
AC was working perfectly and parking was easy.
- 2/5
In all not a pleasant stay
- 3/5
All was good until the part on the 7th floor got loud. Would have liked to see it taken care of sooner. like this hotel, but the ceilings in the bathroom need attention. Will stay here again due to its location.
- 4/5

- 3/5
Facility needs an updating. Staff helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
I stayed one night after my husband had surgery at Albany Medical Center. The hotel is very convenient and I was just expecting a place to shower and sleep after a very long day. However it was way more than that. I was a distracted mess by the time I checked in and Denzel at the front desk was kind and patient. I had dinner in the restaurant in the hotel. Everything was clean and I appreciated the refrigerator in my room. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet surroundings.
- 4/5
It would be good if breakfast was earlier in the weekend
- 2/5
Asked for help with bags told to ask security guy, he was outside on break or something couldn’t find him. Breakfast ordered off menu, potatoes were cold. No one from housekeeping came to my room. For the $$$ I would not stay there again.
- 2/5
We asked for a pet friendly room which was great. But there is no particular place to walk your dog. Especially if your dog needs to go out very early or the middle of the night! The only place to walk your dog was on the main city street. Whem we were there, there were jack hammers and construction happening and my dog was terrified. I thought they'd have a small courtyard or someplace safento walk your dog, i did not feel safe late at night or early AM
- 4/5
Room itself was a little out of date and neglected—some furniture was stained. Housekeeping services anticipated at least once during our stay did not occur. But in general, the hotel was quiet and clean, with very friendly staff. Breakfast was fine—overpriced for what was offered, but staff again very friendly. Location was convenient. Pool was small but very clean. Would recommend for a family or solo traveler.
- 5/5
Great for what we needed. My dad was in the hospital across the street. They were wonderful the whole stay.
- 3/5
The room however was less than ideal. Not super clean, bathroom had sort of a musty smell to it. Again no the cleanest. $15 for the breakfast buffet I thought was kind of an outrage. Specially since most of their food items where around $9 dollars and way more appetizing than what they offer on the buffet
- 4/5
The hotel is exceptionally convenient for patients at Albany Medical Center. My wife was a patient and could walk directly into the hospital via covered walkway. The food in the hotel restaurants was very good and inexpensive. Only complaint was the room air conditioning which was not working properly.
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable hotel. A bit dated. Staff was okay. Manager still charged us for a night when we couldn't get there due to weather and cancelled flights despite notification ASAP. Did comp us breakfast which was nice. Breakfast seemed understaffed.
- 5/5
Overall a great experience
- 5/5
A perfect ‘home away from home’ for those who want to stay close to a loved one in the AMC hospital. Breakfast was a step up from the usual garden inn, but you pay extra for it. Reserving through Expedia made it super affordable!
- 4/5

The suite layout and location was convenient for our needs, however several pieces of furniture had significant staining and discoloration.
- 5/5
Excellent clean!
- 3/5
Not the bathroom smelled weird and the air was extremely loud
- 5/5
Right across the street from the hospital. Very convenient. Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The shower had plenty of hot water and great pressure. Highly recommend
- 1/5
Room smelled like mold, front desk was very rude throughout the stay not just one person.
- 3/5
Room 424 was clean but the king sized bed was very hard and I couldn’t get much sleep. The towels felt very stiff and hard. Parking can be a little confusing if using GPS. Their parking lot is very small and people park wherever they want at night (not in an actual parking spot). When lot is full there’s no communication or signage where guests can park. Very confusing. Most likely not coming back to the location.
- 2/5
They host events unannounced to customers who are not part of those events, restricting access to breakfast, common areas, and business amenities to regular customers.
- 5/5
We always stay here when we are in Albany. Perfect location.
- 5/5
Perfect for going to tulip fest
- 5/5
And staff was very friendly and approachable Efficient and Helpful !!!
- 5/5
Good and clean
- 5/5
Rooms are small compared to other hotels but it was quiet and clean. My kids enjoyed the pool as well as the starbucks and restaurant on site was very convenient!
- 4/5
Nice breakfast restaurant and sports grill. A bit odd that the check-in is on the second floor. Parking is a bit cramped.
- 5/5
Exceptional customer service. The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating.
- 5/5
Great location and convenient.
- 5/5
It was nice
- 4/5
This was a great place to stay for a concert at the mvp arena. They have a small pool with limited seating but we were able to enjoy it on Saturday morning. Easy to drive most everywhere and we really appreciated the free parking. Super nice staff, too.
- 5/5
Welcoming and safe.

Modern and well kept building and facilities. Staff was extremely courteous, helpful and ready to serve. Lou at the front desk was exceptionally helpful!
- 5/5
It was perfect for our one night stay in Albany
- 5/5
Microwave was broke beside that everything was fine..
- 4/5
The front desk staff was wonderful. Its a bit of a noisy area being right by the hospital but the bed was so comfortable i fell asleep quickly each night. The sports bar in location had a delicious shrimp dish and the server was wonderful.
- 3/5
Although hotels.com mentioned that we had indeed a paid reservation, once we arrived at the hotel, we had NO reservation.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and nice.
- 3/5
They only give you one tea bag and 2 cups of coffee in the room. The local area is a complete dump-run down and dirty, so I did not feel comfortable walking around once it was dark. Will probably stay off Wolf Road the next time around even though I will have to drive 20 minutes to work. I did like the soap and shampoo, and the heat worked well but I still expect better from a hilton.
- 5/5
The property was nice and convenient to the city.
- 4/5
Clean remote control broken
- 5/5
Thank you
- 3/5
no usb ports in the room for the price I paid breakfast should have been included. not worth the price for the room
- 5/5
The Hotel is connected to Albany Med. Center which made it convenient to have easy access for my brother's surgery.
- 5/5
Great customer service from staff
- 5/5
the staff were tremendous. they helped my elderly parents navigate the hotel on many occasions. And with a smile on there face and genuine joy in helping them.my parents are still talking about the trip..
- 4/5
The property is located right across from Albany Medical Center, yet still close enough to all the "tourist attractions" Even though it's by the medical center, we found it to be quite quiet. They could do a better job cleaning the floors in the rooms and the stairway up to check in. Other than that it's a nice and convenient place
- 2/5
Worn out and outdated.
- 5/5
Luke at front desk was extremely helpful.
- 4/5
That aside, the Hilton across from Albany Medical Ctr was ideal for our stay while procedure done at the hospital. Convenient parking and elevated covered walkway between the hospital made the experience much less stressful. Great staff, helpful, friendly and responsive and quick to our asks...
- 5/5
Parking is really tight. The lot can fill up. Other than that the hotel was nice. Coffee in the morning doesn't start until at least 7 which is kind of a bummer but Starbucks is in the building.
- 5/5
Thanks!!!
- 2/5
I booked this for our company - hotel was pre-paid under our company's name and employee's phone number was entered so he would have the confirmation. Employee showed company credit card and identified himself - hotel refused to check him in. Manager finally "agreed to do so" - was very rude over the phone, and directly with our employee - doubting his reservation and telling me "next time" I needed to do this differently - clearly he did not like us utilizing Expedia. (we love Expedia!) Also, we already had an employee staying there (at the same time!).....Never Staying There Again so there will be no next time.
- 2/5
The "view" was onto the Albany Medical Center which comes with the sweet sounds of sirens wailing by whenever the ambulance takes that route. For the high price, I would have expected to be able to have a quiet night.
- 5/5
Loved the stay here!
- 3/5
Difficulty finding enough parking.
- 1/5
Legitimately one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. We required late check in as we drove down early morning from Canada for Farm Aid and arrived after 11pm. The first entrance we tried to access the hotel was closed after 11pm so we had to walk around the building to access the other entrance. To enter there, you require a room key. After getting inside, reception/check in is on the second floor & elevators require the tap of a room key as well. Shifts were changing so we had to wait to get checked in. The staff member finally got us checked in and did not provide any insight on parking facilities or where/how to access them. We first entered the hospital/staff/visitor parking garage as we were unaware it was separate from hotel. After leaving parking garage we saw the hotel lot. The lot for the hotel is far too small for the size of the hotel & there were no spots left. We went into reception to ask what to do and got told it happens with a chuckle, and to use the parking garage but it does not connect to hotel so we must walk back to hotel. We went to park in the garage and noticed signs saying unauthorized vehicles will be towed, returned to reception and they said it is fine, just leave parking ticket in windshield. Returned to garage, then on walk back, a spot in hotel lot finally opened. Wasted 45mins to park. Then once finally in room, disappointed. Rooms are outdated, dirty, many issues. No handle on drawer, lights out, no bathroom fan- moisture on roof
- 5/5
Love this Hilton. Ideal location walkable restaurants. Great park within walking distance. Clean, well appounted.
- 3/5
This was a convenient hotel for us since we had an early morning medical appointment at Albany Med. The hotel parking lot is behind the building and difficult to find. The check in was fast and easy and we ate in their restaurant which was good. The room was not luxurious but fine. Everything worked and it was clean. However we requested an eight o'clock wake up call which we never got. Also when I asked for directions they were not very helpful.
- 3/5
Good value for the price, but toiletries are not provided even though the bottles are placed on the wall in the shower; very deceiving. When we asked for some body wash, it took some time to arrive and was not what we asked for.
- 5/5

This hotel was very nice. Only wish the restaurant/bar stayed open later.
- 4/5
I like the convenience of it being next to the hospital.
- 5/5
What I expected.
- 5/5
Everything was great and the room was amazing
- 4/5
Safe section of town, with easy access to shops and restaurants.
- 4/5
The safety and security measures were great. The area was clean. The breakfast was also great and reasonably priced.
- 5/5
The property was in easy walking distance to Albany Medical. It was quiet and served our purpose well.
- 1/5
The rooms are very dirty. The bed linens were very dingy. The sheets were supposed to be white but looked off white and almost gray. I called the front desk and asked for linen change. A few moments later there was a knock at my door. I was expecting house keeping but instead got a man with a bin, who handed me the same dingy looking bed sheets. I refused to accept it. The upholstered lounge chair in the room was heavily stained and dirty. There were hair strands found on the bedside tables. The bathroom had a strong odor of urine that could instantly be detected upon opening the bathroom door. The shower curtain reeked of human body odor like that of a homeless person. I was so discussed that I went to a nearby Target to buy a set of bedsheets and Lysol and disinfecting wipes to clean the room myself. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had booking a hotel. I really hope the Hilton gets it together and fix these issues. They really can’t compromise on cleanliness.
- 3/5
Cons PARKING. they have a small lot. If it’s full you either park on the street or pay $7 to park in the lot breakfast wasn’t that good. Lot of hairs left in bathroom.
- 1/5
I checked out an hour after getting there because none of my accommodations were met and the pool was my main reason for booking with them and they waited until check in time to chemical treat the pool which made it out of service
- 3/5
Had to change rooms three times due to strong small of mildew in bathrooms. The bathrooms don’t have air extractor/fans so no surprise. Third room was fine.
- 5/5
We always stay here because its so convenient to our son's college. Friendly staff, nice comfy rooms and conveniently located.
- 3/5
Did not live up to other Hilton Garden Inn places I have stayed.
