We pulled in and immediately noticed panhandling on the corner. We decided to try anyway and checked in. We checked out less than 20 minutes later because of how disgusting it was. Cigarette burns on every surface, stench still in the air and on the sheets. I am pregnant and have a baby and the last thing I wanted was to be in that all night. On the walk out we smelled pot in the halls. It says no smoking and clearly that isn’t followed. Signs are still up from 2020 that no longer apply. Honestly it needs to be professionally cleaned and a lot of updates.

Its basically a pass over lay-way before you cross into hell. The best feature was a bed so you could sleep for the night. Even tho the walls are paper thin and you can hear all the ghosts and gouls, at least u can get 3 hours of sleep. Hopefully you wont need wifi, it barely works. Hallelujah, despite the massive pot holes outside, the pealing wall paper, cracked outlets, busted doors, one single outlet in the room thats usable, oh and the best ever breakfast that a starving Ethiopian child could ever want! Quite gross. Old Ramada Inn, still the same carpet, drapes, and sign (painted over). World's smallest bar of soap. Thinnest washcloths I've ever seen. No tissue. Cracked plastic lampshade. Gross windowsill in hallway just outside my room. It was a cheap place to sleep and shower in the area.

When we first saw the property...it looked abandoned and the road in needs serious attention. It was once a Ramada and is now a property in transition. The front desk was very helpful & friendly. The bed was pillow top & quite comfortable. No hand towels, kleenex or shampoo. Excellent price. It was well worth what we paid. I would stay here again, Lots of parking. Only 5 miles away from Wolf Rd restaurants (Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse etc). No coffee makers in room and have to wait until 7am when breakfast opens.

Staff that stares when you say good morning. Only water source is your bathroom sink. Begger junkies on the street corners, loud arguing lateinto the night that wakes you, police sirens every night, I found a used needle in the parking lot. Dripping faucet, water damage on ceiling and walls, stained carpet, WiFi worse than the hotspot offered by my iPhone, low resolution cable that keeps freezing. Never again. Avoid this filthy hotel.

The ONLY reason this place got an overall 2/5 stars from me is the very, very cheap price. The staff was difficult. The room was fairly clean but 3 out of 4 lamps were either broken or placed too far away from an outlet. There were a total of 3 plugs available, 4 if you unplug the microwave, and no USB ports as you often see on lamps or desks. The furniture was mismatched and falling apart. Neither clothes hangers nor facial tissues were provided. The "continental breakfast" included consisted of cold hard-boiled eggs, stale white bread, and packets of peanut butter. The coffee was okay, but by day 3 there was no milk, only clumpy nondairy creamer. There was no butter. NO BUTTER. The sign outside was mostly blank and unlit, making the place nearly impossible to find at night. The parking lot was full of bone-jarring potholes. I should have stayed at the Motel 6 across the street.

This place needs serious, serious work. It is the hotel version of a slum in every sense. Poorly kept rooms, paint peeling off the walls, sheets with cigarette burns, the smell of smoke and cannabis in the elevator and hallways. The only redeeming experience was the friendly staff, but that was only at check in/out. They didn’t even bother putting up new signs - just taped over or scraped off “Ramada” from the roadside sign (which wasn’t even lit up) and the sign on the side of the building. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I can’t recommend it to anyone.

Songs on each floor are dirty and outdated and lighting is very dim at best. Very undesirable within the extent overall a very uncomfortable feeling.

The photos on the website are far from what this establishment actually looks like. The “restaurant” is only open for the breakfast hours. Our key cards worked 1 time out of the many we tried, despite having them “reset” over and over- not that it really mattered because the door to the room didn’t even close completely. The hallway reeks of filth and marijuana. When you look out the window, there are various items on the roof of the lower floor - including socks, a metal spoon, and a lighter. There were burn holes on one of the sets of bedding. Burn marks and literal dried boogers on the walls around the sink area - and what appeared to be “hi” written with some type of bodily fluid written on the bathroom door. The hotel provided toiletries were empty. When looking for a missing phone - there was what appeared to be feces behind the mattress on the same bed with the burn holes. And if all of that isn’t bad enough - one of the tiles above the toilet/shower was lifted out of place - with a mysterious green glow coming from it - with the words “hi” written in marker. Needless to say, I showered with a swim suit on - and only out of pure desperation, and absolutely refused to allow my teenaged daughter to shower there at all. The low cost is still too high for a place like this.

Im not one to leave a review unless i receive a stellar experience but for the sake of someone else not winding up in the position I was in where I ended up after checking out less than 24 hours after checking in when i had already paid for a multiple day stay that was non refundable. This was honestly the worst place ive ever stayed in my entire life. The room itself was deplorable. Nothing worked including the lights, microwave and the TV. There was no heat and it was in the 20's outside so the room was freezing. The bed was dirty and disgusting. The entire property reeked of cigarettes and cheap weed. There was a rotten orange, a used condom and a dime bag of with white residue in it on the floor under the table in the room. I could go on about the mold and many other things but hopefully you get the point. The entire place was so deplorable I ended up leaving instead of staying. I would recommend no one stay here ever.

First the rooms on Expedia are falsely advertised. A king bed is a “deluxe single room,“ and so is the queen bed. So I clicked the king bed room and NOT to my surprise something scammy happened checking in to the property. Instead of the king bed I was given the queen bed. Only to be misinformed by the property front desk person which stated “the room says q.” No, in fact it said deluxe single room.” So basically I was not accommodated as I expected which is completely unacceptable in my opinion. Then Wilson at the front desk refused to let me use the landline since he refused to do his job and referred me to contact Expedia. Extremely rude and disrespectful

So I was sitting on the bed of a room that I was tricked into staying at when I initially got to the hotel, I immediately told the front desk person that my bed is a queen and she said that’s what I chose, which is incorrect. There was no way I’d choose a queen bed to sleep two adults in a hotel room when a king bed was available. I’m pretty sure they went as far as listing both rooms as deluxe single room so that it looks as though I’m at fault. Their breakfast almost made me throw up in my mouth. The griddle that the waffles are made on had YEARS of clumped up grease and burned batter that it flaked off on the pancake. The butter looked like it’s in a bowl that sat in the fridge for years. Definitely would recommend skipping breakfast unless you want food poisoning.

If you want to save money on your hotel, this would be a good choice. They aren't very busy so no guests on either side and it was nice and quiet as far as noise from neighbors. Microwave was very good. Great views from windows. Place seems rundown, not in it's prime; they had someone working on elevator one evening and I had to walk up 6 flights of stairs; even though there are 2 elevators, I never saw the other one working; paint peeling from ceiling and several burnt out lightbulbs in room; rug in elevator looked old and dirty; there are still signs on front entrance from covid saying you have to wear a mask (in 2025); tourist brochures on table were from 2024; some of the staff at the front desk are unpleasant; breakfast buffet is terrible; only had coffee.

The bathroom shower and toilet had definitely not been cleaned. The breakfast was pitiful, the milk was sour, the waffle tasted weird, and that was basically all there was except for toast. Just a really weird vibe there as well. The main sign had obviously just been scrubbed out (maybe Ramada dropped them?). Would not recommend although it is dirt cheap!

Room was an absolute dump, disgusting as it gets from top to bottom, and the staff being rude was the cherry on top. Staff was the ‘I don’t take my AirPods out while you’re talking’ type of rude. So I thought $75 would be acceptable for a quick 6 hours and keep driving on Rt 90 after a Bills Game…yeah right, if that’s your option I’d spend the $10 at a gas station to caffeine up and keep driving. $75 isn’t worth feeling dirtier and itchier than when you walked in. State walked in they’d be shut down in 20 minutes. Save your hard earned money.

Some greatest hits of my stay include: -literally EVERYWHERE smells like cigarettes -staff was fine (didn't really experience the rudeness other reviews mention) but took like 10 minutes to check me in -door took forever to recognize the key card and open -toilet didn't flush properly -the two lamps on either side of the bed are not plugged in and are also nowhere near any outlets. Were they just for decorative purpose? -bar that holds shower curtain was falling off -wifi did not work the entire time I was there -when I went down for breakfast (5 minutes after the stated start time for breakfast) nothing was set up. There was an employee sitting in one of the booths on his phone who started to set things up when he saw I was standing at the entrance, but I was in a hurry so decided to just leave with no breakfast.

So, i had originally stayed here back in 2017, and back then this hotel was still a Ramada Hotel. Back then it was clean and well maintained. Then, this past weekend, i had a long drive back from a friend’s wedding and decided to break the trip up into two days. I saw a good price for this hotel, which was no longer the Ramada Plaza hotel, but now the Albany Plaza Hotel (though the sign out front says it’s the “A Plaza” with the “R and MADA” from the original sign painted over). I thought, well it was nice back in 2017, it’s probably still nice now even after the name change. Wrong. From the outside, you can see how the current owners have neglected the property. Overgrown grass and bushes and many potholes all through the parking lot. The lobby seemed ok, but only one elevator was working, and it seemed a bit dirty. Once i got on my floor, it smelt bad, kind of like a barn would smell, and wasn’t lit very well. Once i got into my room, i was taken back by how hot it was when i first walked in, well over 90 degrees. I then noticed that several pieces of the ceiling had broken off, or were hanging off. The furniture was all in extremely rough condition. The bathroom was bad, no tissues in the spot for the tissue box, a dirty shower curtain and a dirty bathtub floor. Also, i noticed the mattress wasn’t kept in a mattress protector. Then at 2:30 am, i saw a bed bug crawl across my pillow. Unacceptable!

So, I only can give an Average rating since I never set foot into any room. Disgusting, having to nap in my car for part of the night before just moving onto my destination for the day extra early. My son and I stayed here to catch the train to NYC the next morning. At first glance the hotel was very dated and in need of some TLC. The front staff was pleasant enough, check in was fine. When going to the elevator it had a very odd odor. Almost like a musty cleaning liquid mixed with essential oils. The room looked like it was falling apart. The bathroom was dingy and looked like it had stains. It also had this odd hole in the tile above the shower that I plugged with tissue because it looked questionable. The pillows on the bed look like they were made for toddlers and each bed had two, but they were about the thickness of a cracker. When I called down asking for more pillows, I was told by a woman that they “don’t give out pillows” which is something I have never heard of. Needless to say it was a very uncomfortable, sleepless night. This is somewhere we would never stay again and would not recommend. I’ve stayed in many places in this area and have never been to one like this.

The building stinks. The hallways smell like weed. There is no air conditioning in the main hallways. The elevator has silicone between the door and the floor gap. In the room, the lamp shades are ripped. The room is dingy. The bathroom fan doesnt work. The bath faucet drips. The water pressure is very poor. The shampoo bottle is empty. There is a blue washcloth hanging from the shower rod from the previous guests. There is only one single plug in the entire room. Not enough to plug more than one phone into, let alone any plug at all by the table for a laptop. The air conditioning is left off, the room is very warm. The wifi cannot be discovered on the 6th floor. Swap to a different wifi signal, the speed to so slow, it's pointless to use, we switch to phone data. There are 3 child size pillows total for the king bed. There are used tissues on the floor, between the head of the bed and the wall. It is late. We stay the first night, concerned after reading reviews regarding pests. We check out the next morning, even though had booked two nights. We are told no refunds. We thought we saw decent reviews on expedia. Check google. This hotel is disgusting.

Pictures on the website do not match the property and amenities are very limited. Needs to be inspected and renovated promptly outside and in. Broken receptacle coming off the wall behind the bed being a fire hazard. Shower tub is fragile, water leak all the time in the tub. No paper towel available in the room. Complementary breakfast was served by one staff member only if available. Carpet had bad smell as well. Pros: Good AC, comfortable bed, hot water in shower, close to downtown restaurants and activities.

It was filthy, rundown, and smelled so bad from the minute we walked in. There were old stained ceiling tiles in the lobby and all through the entire facility. Including our room. My husband and I arrived to our room and found it to smell overwhelming of old cigarettes. The outlet covers and lighting fixtures were stained brown and dripping with tobacco residue. There were visible burns on the bathtub and inside the bathtub that looked like cigarettes were left unattended. The smell in the room was putrid. The smell was so strong that it triggered an allergic reaction in me. I must also mention that there was one bath towel and two flat pillows on a king size bed that looked slept in. When we walked into the room the television was on, and it looked like somebody had been laying on the bed. My husband and I picked up our belongings, went to the front desk and told the attendant that the room was horrible. All they said was “we’re sorry”. I reached out out to hotels.com. I was assured they would help me to get a refund given this horrific experience. Today I received a email from Hotels.com the Ramada is sticking to their refund policy and I would not get my money back. They said they know this is disappointing. Yes, I am disappointed. and will never use this Hotels.com to book again. And a warning to all- definitely never stay at this Ramada!!!!

This was supposed to be a non-smoking property. Got to my room and it reaked of smoke. Moved to a new room and there was no water pressure in the shower. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The water pressure in the shower was nonexistent. The building could definitely use some updates. Free parking and it was conveniently located right off the highway. The free breakfast was a hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, home fries and sausage. Some cereal, a few muffins and toast. My only real complaint was that it did smell of cigarette smoke and weed.

To quote my sister, “I could spit into my own hand and get more water than that shower is giving us.” Linens were slightly stained, there were no towels when we asked for new ones. Better than a tent for a night, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it again.

We chose this hotel because we couldn’t find a vacancy in Saratoga that was either available or less than $1000 a night and understandably so because it was the weekend of the Belmont race (which is why we were there) and we did not want to pay those prices. The room was perfect for what we needed and that being a place to sleep and bathe and while closing on a positive note, the beds were wonderful and so very comfortable and we were pleased to get a good night’s sleep!

My first time visiting Albany, it was for business, and all I need is clean quiet place to sleep. Yes, the hotel was not the little old building, which I could pick some aged detail, I could nick pick here and there such as cracked paint spots here and there. But overall, very clean and quiet. very nice hotel, I do not need anything luxury to sleep peacefully. Bathroom was very clean and nice, so does all towel and sheets. This Ramada is a disgrace to the Ramada name brand. Internet is terrible, no blanket or comforter on bed just 2 sheets. Phone and TV in the room not working. They left previously used toiletries in the bathroom. The room was so dirty and the furnitures rusty. Them people had the nerves to tell me that the bed did not have no blanket when I checked out knowing that they didn’t have any in there. The towels are so small you can even wrap yourself in them. Housekeeping is only on demand. To get new towels you have to return the dirty ones and when you do they only give you one. No trash bag for the trash can. The elevators had a horrible smell like something had died in there, they tried to spray it makes it even worse. Apparently when you check out you have to wait for them to check the room for so call missing items which they don’t even have in the room when you check in. Overall this place is a mess, they need to shut it down or pass it to someone who can renovate it and bring it up to par!!! I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

Let’s start with breakfast — if you can even call it that. A prison meal would be an upgrade. Stale bread, watery juice, and rubbery eggs that looked like they’d been sitting out since the night before. Honestly, they’d be better off not offering breakfast at all. It’s almost insulting. The room was no better. The door didn’t even lock properly, which is a major safety issue. I didn’t feel secure for a single minute. On top of that, the TV was tiny and ancient, like something from the early 2000s, and barely worked. The internet was completely useless on the 6th floor — zero signal, no matter how many times I tried reconnecting. Add in musty smells, stained carpets, and unhelpful staff, and this place feels like it’s been forgotten by the Wyndham brand. I don’t know how it’s still in business. Save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere else.

The front desk lady is friendly and helpful. The room is clean, but the property is old with leaking tap in the shower with limited water flow, the shower tub should be replaced as when I step in the bath tub, I feel the bottom of it is floating on the water, i.e. it moves. The blanket on the bed is too thin and we have to raise the room temperature to 77F to be able to sleep. The door lock is hard to open with the assigned card and I have to ask the front desk lady to help us to open the door several times. The breakfast is fine with on onsite service person to distribute the food to avoid waste.

I should have looked at more reviews and not just the price... It's very run down, the faucet in the shower has a constant drip, as does the sink. Found a very dirty sock when looking for a workable outlet to plug in my phone charger, gunk on table surface, on mirror, dusty, just generally not clean. Sheets seem ok, but wifi is questionable, stains of carpet and walls and ceiling. Furniture is very... Um. Let's say pulled from resale and garage sale. I found one outlet to plug in my phone in my phone and it wasn't convenient to the bed. One lamp worked. Dim lighting hides a lot. Smelled like cigarettes. At least the AC works.

When we arrived to the lobby to complain Reema the front desk staff was rude and nasty. She said she was the only one there and there was no one do contact. Offering another room would not have been helpful because there were too young ladies in the lobby upset because they had been bitten with bed bugs! Nothing like the pictures. Checked in and went up to our room. It was filthy, lampshades missing, the bathroom was gross with smears of toothpaste on the walls. The smoke detector was also beeping every min indicating the batteries needed to be changed. We went to the front desk and asked if someone could replace the smoke detector battery so i didnt have to listen to it beep all night long. The woman at the desk said there was nobody to change batteries. She pointed at my boyfriend and said hes tall just remove the batteries. I also asked for an extra pillow since there was only 2 for our king sized bed and was told they dont give out extra pillows. We got back to the room and my boyfriend removed the smoke detector batteries and realized it was an expired smoke detector from 2006...not very safe especially in a large hotel not sure who to report it to but will contact the fire marshall for guidance.

I didn’t have any issues, but this is not the kind of hotel you expect from a Ramada. It needs a major facelift, from the rusty signs, potholes in the parking lot, tattered flags, chipped and worn furniture, etc. Looks like it was probably really nice at one time, but that time was probably 1987.

This is the absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The place was very unkept and run down. If it was not 1 am when we stopped here, we would have left, but we need to sleep since we were in the road all day. We had 2 very young kids with us, and I was embarrassed I even brought them here. The pictures are nothing like the hotel what so ever. One of our beds had a burn hole in the sheets, the furniture was broken, blood in the wall, wire holding up the shower curtain rod, and the list goes on. I would never recommend any one to stay here especially if you have a family. Here are actual photos of the hotel.

Lobby, elevator & hallways - Outdated and neglected in every way possible. Room - Blood stains on duvet, one bath towel, one hand towel and washcloth, insufficient and cheap brand toiletries, old and peeling décor and carpeting throughout, evidence of current and past water damage, carpet saturated in water by AC, unusable power sockets, no coffee maker, no ice bag in bucket, insufficient towels, cigarette burns on bath. It didn't appear uncleaned but also didn't appear thorough. There's a skeleton staff of family members as employees and they live on property. Breakfast - Self service was not permitted, which we've never seen or experienced ever before, and required to get a breakfast coupon from reception. A staff member grabs everything because the area is blocked off. Extremely limited offerings (3) and we saw nothing beyond sugar filled carbs. Not even a yogurt, fruit or at least one alternative option, so we didn't bother beyond (requesting) coffee. Overall, this franchisee has spent $0 on improvements, staffing, operations or essentially anything. There's only certain reasons to stay here, either the price or its location.

The stay was one of the poorest in a hotel. Maybe it’s the area, maybe it’s the hotel itself not being upkept. I’m waiting for my deposit to be refunded still 3 days later. The room was not the best condition, with very few outlets. The bathroom shower curtain didn’t stay closed because the bar was not fit well, so it was uncomfortable to shower. There were holes in the bathroom door when we arrived and marks on the walls. I didn’t photo everything just things I thought were way out of the ordinary for a hotel. The breakfast wasn’t awful, the attendant was pleasant and helpful, making the food worth it, even though it was sub par. He was doing his best. The breakfast area could use a revamp though for sure for better accessibility and such. Again, the area may affect this—I come from a small city in Maine, so may not compare to Albany.
