Reviews
Merry Acres Inn is a vintage motor lodge with a unique charm, offering clean rooms and outstanding customer service. However, the property is outdated and could use some updates, with guests frequently mentioning issues with noise, cleanliness, and breakfast.

Price and the location
- 5/5
Very nice and clean place to stay.. beautiful place!
- 5/5
The place was clean and cozy rooms recently renovated and staff was very kind.
- 5/5
The staff were very welcoming upon arrival. The complimentary wine was nice. Ordered the hamburger/house-made pub chips…best hamburger ever!
- 2/5
The Merry Acres Inn has decent curb appeal and over 100 rooms available. We encountered an extremely difficult door to open. So much so we thought it may have been locked and we had to swipe the card and shoulder the door open. Inside the room appreaerd wiped down clean. We found old pizza from a previous guest in the mini fridge and some stray hairs in the shower. Over all it was not bad just overlooked by the cleaning staff. The second night of our stay however it rained very hard. The bathtub flooded inside with water and water flowed through the bathroom floor making the bathroom unusable. Upon checkout I advised the staff of the issues. An apology was offered.
- 3/5
They were renovating. We had a “new” room. Didn’t feel like a punch list was don’t on the room. It didn’t look like it had been cleaned after the renovation. Bathroom walls were filthy with drywall dust. Floor was filthy. I could see lots of daylight around our door, which led to the outdoors. Couldn’t call the front desk from the room. Phone didn’t work. Had to go to the front desk person for ice. In the morning before we left, cleaning supervisor barged into our room without even knocking 2 hours before check out!
- 5/5
Very nice
- 3/5
Property was on the renovation
- 2/5
1st room wasn't cleaned. 2nd room had 1 towel, no wash cloths, no cups or coffee. The coffee was espresso which was horrible. There was no liner in the ice bucket. My husband had to ho back yo the front desk 3 times to get what we needed. Sorry, we won't be back!
- 3/5
They need to make their room descriptions very clear on the hotels.com website. I paid a little higher amount for an executive room but stayed in a room that was considered a standard room by the previous and original owners. When I told the front desk team member that I paid for an upgrade he was not very accommodating. However, the room was freshly remodeled and very clean. I really value cleanliness in hotels so we did not change hotels.
- 2/5
The lady at the front desk was nice but not apologetic and offered us a full refund rather than offer to even clean up the rooms and add mattress pads. So we took the refund and left. On this trip we stayed at 3 properties found on Expedia and a fourth one (this property) that we didn’t stay in. Only one of them was actually nice, clean and lived up to its reviews. The other 3 had great reviews 8.6 and above but weren’t clean or nice. I am beginning to question the accuracy of the reviews on Expedia. Next trip I will try another travel booking site. This makes me sad as I have been using Expedia for at 15 years and have always had good experiences.
- 5/5
Great everything overall
- 4/5
I liked that it was easy to park & easy to get into the room. On Sunday, they didn’t have a good breakfast. They had run out of yogurt, and all I ate was a bagel. There was construction going on too.
- 4/5
Furniture was new, very comfortable beds Recently renovated
- 5/5
Airport shuttle wasn’t available for me at night or in the morning. Call ahead to make sure they have someone available to drive it
- 3/5
Great updated room, parking is good, a very basic breakfast was a perk, along with an attached restaurant. I was on my spring break, so very dissapointed that both the pool and workout area weren't available (call ahead!). Parts of property were under renovation.
- 5/5
There was nothing bad about my stay. Actually I did not have to stay over. I only spent 5 hrs.
- 4.5/5
There was a light outside on the porch that was blaring into our room because the shade was very flimsy. So the room never got dark and it was a bit noisy in the outside area. It was more the light that bothered us than the noise. A blackout shade or curtain for the room. It's a beautiful new room and it's a beautiful shade, but it does not block out the light at all.
- 2/5
There was a mop bucket left in the room mirror were dirty, hotel charges $100 extra for accidental damage there was no damage done and my money was still taken.
- 4/5
Good location but more a motel than a hotel. They are working on remodeling it but rooms are clean and updated.
- 2/5
It took over an hour to check-in to our room. I won't go into details but, just about the worst experience
- 3/5
I couldn't get the tiny instant coffee maker to do more than an espresso shot. The complimentary breakfast they had for "runners" didn't start until 6, but race time was at 7. The rooms were at least relatively nice for the area. If I go again next year, I'll probably either choose a cheaper hotel and accept the annoyances of that or pick one of the branded chain hotels by the mall for a more consistent experience. I can tell the hotel staff tried, but I probably wouldn't risk staying here again.
- 1/5
Parking was inconvenient (had to park far from our room), and the restaurant looked more like a storage space than a place to eat. The biggest concern was safety. There were people walking around who appeared to be under the influence and looking into vehicles, which made us very uncomfortable. Definitely not worth $298. I would not stay here again. It was falsely advertised. We want our money back.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and the bar (and BJ) are too shelf!!!
- 4/5
Great staff and clean room. Smaller continental breakfast, but good
- 4/5
The room was clean except the floor. After only a couple minutes in stocking feet my socks were totally soiled. Im 5'3" and I could not reach your closet hanging bar, it is ridiculously high. You should sit in the bathtub to see the view, bare 2x4's visible under the counter.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff, bartender very nice and quick.
- 2/5
Unfortunately the Merry Acres I have enjoyed for decades is just mediocre. The room had hair all over the floor, outlets didn’t work, the commode was stopped up, the keys issued for the room didn’t work- two times. Each requiring a long walk back to the front desk… staff is friendly but that’s all you get. Construction supplies all over the grounds… just sad really.
- 4/5
The nice, clean, remodeled room, along with the friendly staff, made this a wonderful stay.
- 2/5
When we got to the room and walked into the kitchen the first thing we saw was a bug on the counter. There were no trash bags in the kitchen garbage can and no paper towels. Inside the kitchen cabinets and kitchen drawers was disgusting; dirt or bug drippings (couldn’t tell what it was but it was filthy) were in every cabinet and drawer. There were no dishes nor eating utensils. The bathrooms looked as though they have never been updated; around the toilets was disgusting. We checked our mattresses for bed bugs. The comforter had stains. The duvet looked clean. One of our people sat on the couch for a minute or two and got up feeling dirty. It was a terrible experience. Merry Acres used to be the place to stay but not anymore!
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
Great price, friendly staff.
- 5/5
I stay here for work several days a month and have for several years. The recent upgrades are wonderful! New beds, decor makes you feel like you are in an upscale boutique hotel! The restaurant and bar are cozy and the staff is so very friendly! Great food and the bar is well stocked.
- 3/5
Wasn't the same as it was under last owner. Pub wasn't open and my old bartenders do not work there anymore . Was no live music on the porch. I was very disappointed.
- 2/5
The ice maker did not work in our building, and we had to walk all the way to the front office to get ice from the pub. I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
The tub was not in the best condition. Want to take a bath. But didn't feel comfortable sitting in the bath.
- 5/5
Excellent bar and restaurant
- 5/5
Love the quiet and cleanliness of Merry Acres. The restaurant and rooms are so cozy after a long shift and the linen and rooms are so clean. It’s always greatly appreciated after a long shift and Merry Acres excels.
- 5/5
The absolute cleanest motel room I've ever stayed in
- 4/5
The room was very nice! Well laid out and extremely functional!
- 2/5
It lied u don’t stay in the house it shows you it’s under construction every where and they don’t tell you
- 5/5
Excellent stay
- 4.5/5
Clean and comfortable Bathrooms are very dated and seem a little dirty
- 4/5
It’s a quaint, quiet, and quintessentially Mid-Century style roadside inn. It’s a great halfway stop between North Alabama and Orlando.
- 4/5
Some updates would be nice, especially the bathrooms
- 2/5
The main issue was the heater it did not work and when I returned from dinner to call front desk no one was available, so it was very cold overnight.. the next night the lady just said they would look into but nothing was done it was 58 degrees in the room.
- 3.5/5
Location and availability Only rooms on ground level
- 2/5
water pressure not good ... tub did not drain pry ... AC/Heat unit did not work ... no airport shuttle ...
- 5/5
My family likes to find cute boutique hotels, and this is one. Clean. Adorable.
- 4/5
Staff were courteous and friendly. The property was neat and festive for the Holiday season. The first room wasn't clean. Unfortunately, the bathroom was much to be desired. So we changed rooms. However, the 2nd room was clean and tidy. The overall environment was quite and it's close enough to convenient stores and restaurants.
- 5/5
Kind staff, clean and renovated room
- 5/5
Rooms are a bit dated, but always a great time here. Staff is welcoming and very helpful!
- 4/5
The room was pretty clean. However there was a bit of dirt and dust on the floors in the corners. Bathrooms could definitely benefit from an upgrade but overall had everything I needed for a night. I had to walk around for a good 10 minutes trying to find the ice machine before finally going to the pub to get some. Bartender was very friendly and quick to help. I love the quaintness and character of the place. So cute. Felt like something in a movie set. Very nostalgic. I loved being able to park directly in front of my room. So convenient! Coffee in my room was good but the creamer was probably over 10 years old. I would have loved to have real cream for coffee in the lobby. Great stay overall. Will be back next time I’m visiting family in Albany. We’d much rather spend money to a local business than a Hilton or Hampton, or big corporation.
- 4/5
Did make breakfast Room did not have a IRON FOR MY CLOTHES!
- 1/5
Whatever guy they had pick me up to bring me to the motel, I caught him peeking in my window while I was about to get undressed to take a shower. When I ran to the door to confront him he was leaving and saying I’m sorry. But he was smiling like that was ok.
- 2/5
This hotel needs a major upgrade it's really outdated with amenities, cleaning, dripping faucets, staff was friendly but the description of the rooms were not accurate needs upgraded immediately
- 3/5
Door to room was damaged. Breakfast consisted of cereal and milk. Cream packets for coffee were old and dried into a flat solid square in its packet. All coffee was awful. Mattress was broken down on one side. Electrical outlets are few and hard to find. Furniture and bathroom facilities are worn and need to be upgraded. Running the AC unit was necessary to mask the sound of a band that played for hours near the front of the property.
- 5/5
Very nice room, clean & roomy with a very comfortable king size bed with fresh clean smelling sheets and a sofa.
- 5/5
This used to be the premier accommodation site in Albany, and retains its 1960's charm. The staff are friendly and the rooms adequate. The only downside is the continental breakfast, which could be a bit more diverse.
- 5/5
Clean room, quiet and the staff was attentive when I checked in. Nice stay overall.
- 1/5
No one was available to help me check in when I arrived. I was unable to access my room.
- 5/5
Love that!...so comfortably 😊
- 4/5
Love the old school motel where you park outside your door. It makes moving in and moving out quicker. The floors were nice (not carpet). There were little shampoos and conditioners.
- 0.5/5
Nothing. Property is old and out of date. Plumbing issues. The sheets were not clean and the tub was dirty. Nothing. I was supposed to be issued a refund that I never got to this date. I have consistently reached out regarding my refund with no success
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay when in Albany
- 3.5/5
The staff was very friendly. The pub/Bistro was excellent. The rooms need to be updated. Old furniture and bathroom. enjoy coming there but need to get updated. Everything is too old.
- 5/5
Nothing bad to say at all
- 3/5
The remodeling was best my room refrigerators outside and paint and other items. I didn’t like being shoved to the back of the hotel neither and the frig wasn’t plugged in. The light near the bed didn’t work as well I had to unplug the microwave to plug up the brand new frig. It was an inconvenience to us.
- 5/5
Was expecting mord for breakfast...
- 2.5/5
Location was good. Friendly staff Rooms are too outdated. Found hair in multiple locations in the room. T.V. too small. Buildings are too old and need a lot of renovation. Plumbing needs to be replaced.
- 3.5/5
Nice older hotel, a few renovation will elevate it. Its clean, quite, very convenient to restaurants, shopping. It small, but a necessity, the lamps should have USB chargers, for those who forgot to bring a charges for their cell phones. The bathroom.
- 1/5
Employees did not check in due to unsafe location and dirty. We tried to cancel the stay and they still charged us for the entire stay when we didn't even stay for 20min. Bunch of thieves. I will never use Expedia again and stay away from this property. Been a loyal customer for years booking hotels multiple times pr month for business but I will never Expedia them again.
- 0.5/5
Staff was friendly. Breakfast was okay. Location was close to town. The room smelled musty and old. The bathroom is tiny. The top bar door lock had screws coming out and was not set flush. Any professional handyperson would know not to try to set it on a ridged piece of the doorframe! The outside of the bathroom door, at the right side bottom, has a large hole - looks like it may have a termite problem. A large roach crawled out of this hole one night during my stay. One side of the bed was uncomfortable as it had a large dip in it. The pool had a closed notice on each gate from the time of our arrival; and, yellow tape along one side of it also. I had called 4 days before arrival to ask if the pool would be open; and, the answer was yes. On the 3rd day of stay, I asked how long the pool had been closed for. I was told the pool was open and I would just have to ask the front desk to open the gate to use it. I advised Bonnie of the closed sign on each gate of the pool. She said she was unaware of that situation. So, in asking about the pool in a phone call, I was not told of needing to ask to have the gate unlocked. And, I was not advised of this process at check-in. On my last day here - the day after I advised of the closed signs at the pool - the signs were still there! It seems this property is just hanging on by a thread. In conclusion, when cleaning and/or inspecting the rooms and property, on a daily basis, items needing to be fixed should be noted and repaired in a timely manner. The issue with the closed signs at the pool should have been remedied immediately. I do not recommend this property - especially for folks with allergies (which I have), asthma and/or respiratory issues. I would never stay here again!
- 5/5
Love the area and the amenities. Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
This was a delightful stayover for my grandchildren and I. The staff was very friendly. It is a vintage style upscale motel that was clean and comfortable with a great layout. Nice size room.
- 4/5
Rooms need to be updated! The bar and live music was good. The property is maintained well. Free airport shuttle.
- 5/5
I thought it was well taken care of and beautiful Big beautiful trees
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Hi
- 5/5
Nice place clean room pleasant staff
- 5/5
Always a pleasure
- 3/5
The place needs to be updated and many repairs are needed. Just my opinion!
- 5/5
What a gem! Such a lovely place to stay! Lovely staff! Clean, well kept, great amenities, warm and welcoming southern hospitality all around!
- 5/5
Pool needed leaf removal
- 5/5
The room was a perfect size, the bed comfortable, parking right outside the room, which was very convenient. The staff was friendly and professional, providing information. A breakfast was offered, but we had an early flight so could not partake in the meal. The grounds were well kept, no debris laying around. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Beautiful location and property. The staff were all super friendly, polite and very attentive to our family! The rooms were spacious and clean. Very family friendly so we were very happy and pleased about that. We will definitely be back to visit!
- 5/5
Nice lil room. Great staff
- 1/5
The door was locked. No one was at the desk. We had to find a different place to stay.
- 5/5
Don't miss the bar for some great food and amazing drinks
- 3/5
Dirty pool
- 4/5
I didn't appreciate the dampness of the room and the cable television connectivity issue.
- 4/5
Large “old style” motel but well maintained. Reception area nicely updated with friendly and helpful staff. The hidden gem is the pub - small cozy atmosphere, good drinks & surprising delicious food. Wish our stay could of been longer to enjoy the pool and other amenities.
- 4/5
Convenient, clean and the staff is very professional and helpful.
- 5/5
Loved that they took an older property and updated it.
- 5/5
I always stay here!
- 4/5
The only negative I have is that during the evening, a very large cockroach ran across my floor. I killed it and flushed it down the toilet. I grew up in the country and am an avid camper, so incidents like that generally don't bother me. Plus, all the rooms are at ground level, so you can expect that from time to time.
- 2/5
The staff were wonderful, but this place is just overall run down. It really didn't look anything like the pictures, far more dated, bathtub "gross" to me (I have high cleanliness standards), there was a dead bug on my bed the first night, the bed was soft (I need firm), and the area it is in didn't feel safe to me - there were police sirens and officials on megaphones daily. I also booked through Expedia but got a bill at the front desk when I checked out that didn't match - I have emailed to ask about that but have not heard back from anyone, it has been about a week. I am definitely not thrilled with the amount I paid for this property and don't agree at all that it deserves any sort of 8/10 rating.. I really hate saying this, though, because the staff were super friendly and wonderful - it is not their fault the hotel is "run down" or that it is located where it is - they did, though, put me in the back of the property, which I super appreciated, to be back away from the main street (which didn't feel safe to me).
- 5/5
I stay here a good bit and the area, and people are really great.
- 5/5
Always love staying here.
- 5/5
Property could use updating.
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 2/5
Rust and scum came out of the faucet and drainage was very slow at the bathtub. bathroom floor was not cleaned
- 5/5
I got a room at the back of the property next to the cottage. The room was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet.
- 3/5
Hotel seems to have seen better days - everything a bit worn and tired. Dingey bathroom with dripping tap and chipped tub. Staff seemed bored and indifferent; breakfast poor.
- 5/5
The property was nice. Everything was good except the key cards stopped working repeatedly.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay
- 5/5
Loud noises several times throughout the night due to a wedding party at the pool.
- 5/5
Very personable and knowledgeable!
- 5/5
Personnel were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and property was very quiet.
- 4/5
While the property is older, the room had all the modern features as a new hotel,(coffee maker, microwave, fridge, hair dryer etc.) The room was spotless! Beds were comfortable and the location of the room was quiet. The check in was quick and efficient, the clerk lovely and friendly. We did not partake of the breakfast, as we left to early to enjoy it. All in all a perfectly pleasant and budget friendly experience.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating, Lobby, grounds & room was clean, comfortable & quiet.
- 5/5
Great place, built 1952. Been well cared for. Nostalgia. Clean and fresh.Everything you need. Pool, pub. Food. Wish we had stayed longer. Highly recommend.
- 4/5
I chose this place because it was a "local" property, and the photos made it look like a charming Southern inn. Overall, the location was central to everything I needed, and while the rooms were not as I expected (more of a drive-up motel after the main building), it was clean and comfortable. The manager accommodated my needs without my having to ask. The one downside was that the pool was empty and closed when I stayed there. After a day of driving and working, I was really looking forward to a cool, relaxing dip and was completely bummed out. It was mid-May, but it was already getting hot in Georgia, so I figured it would be open. I would consider staying again, but I will call to ensure the pool is open before booking another stay.
- 5/5
The stay was just one night but it was clean and nice for the night!
- 5/5
Like an old-fashioned motel — in the very BEST way. Comfortable room with real furniture, frig and microwave, everything to be comfortable and enjoy my stay.
- 2/5
The grounds were okay and the rooms were reasonable clean. The bathroom was outdated and the toilet would not flush.
- 5/5
The property has age on it but clean and safe for the two nights stayed. Room doors are banged up and could use painting. The breakfast offered could have used creamer for coffee. More pastries should be offered for breakfast to compete with area motels. Only one bar of soap in the room for shower and hand washing could certainly use two.
- 4/5
It’s kind of a quaint looking place. The room is nice enough. However the WiFi/internet connection is hopeless.
- 2/5
Nothing
- 4/5
Very quaint historical site comfy
- 4/5
Clean and quaint.
- 5/5
We had a long drive, tired and ready for rest
- 5/5
Fixtures in bathroom were old.
- 2/5
Our room was not very clean, the floor was sticky and seems like it needs a good scrubbing. There was left over bread in the refrigerator from a previous guest, our bath towels had toothpaste and hair on them from a previous guest so have a hunch the towels were not replaced after the previous guest. The pillows only had a cover on them and no encasement which is not very hygenic.
- 4/5
Quiet little place, bagels for breakfast and slightly run down.
- 5/5
This is definitely an experience from days gone by. Built in the 1950s, it is the voice of class. The hotel is laid out as a “hotel village”, with multiple buildings that draw interest like a beautiful painting. Even though it is mildy in need of refurbishment, I would not have traded my stay! The huge and uncommonly shaped tub alone, is worth it to see. The staff is absolutely wonderful in totality, (very much appreciated). I will most assuredly return in the future for another enjoyable stay. Thank you Merry Acres Inn for being a reminder of when class was classy!!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time. The Pub and especially Joel the amazing mixologist made the best esspresso martinis ever. He was so friendly and made our trip extra special.
- 5/5
It is an older property, but it has been thoughtfully updated with a sympathetic eye to the period in which it was built with modern comfort in mind. There is a lot to love about this property, but one must give the highest ranking to the staff. They are attentive, engaged, and so very kind.
- 5/5
I used to live in Albany and this place is a landmark. It is one of the few remnants of the old "motor courts" of the late 40's - early 50's. The staff eagerly helps with the old southern style. After an evening with old friends, I had a to go plate. Forgot I didn't live here & did not ask for a plastic fork. A staff member named Shawn
- 2/5
If you like the sounds of constant roosters crowing in the morning, then this is the place for you. This reminded it of the scene from the movie “My Cousin Vinny”.
- 4/5
They were extremely accommodating and pleasant. The room was inexpensive and clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Motel setting with country vibe! Great restaurant- bar! Great service! Be prepared for a 4:30 wake up call by the 9+ roosters and one adorable cat!!
- 1/5
In summary: rude staff, misleading pictures, damp/old room, broken door handle, rooster and dog noises … the list goes on. The only single redeeming quality was the shower water pressure. That was actually impressively good. Otherwise, total ripoff.
- 3/5
The staff were friendly and efficient. We liked the chickens. However, the room was showing its age and seemed dirty and in poor repair. The "continental breakfast" was nearly non-existent and the coffee did not taste good.
- 5/5
Everything was nice and convience for us
- 3/5
Shower head leaked and shot over the curtain. Roosters making noise all night
- 4/5
I liked that it was a 'neighborhood style' setting. It gave me a homey first impression of the hotel.
- 5/5
I stay at merry acres weekly. Cute place, safe, and quiet.
- 3/5
I didn’t feel safe in this hotel. It was more like a motel.
- 3/5
The front view was good, but there was limited and poor customer service. The bathroom not working properly and the room was cold.
- 4/5
Would repeat.
- 5/5
the front desk guy was amazing!!
- 2/5
Morning staff member wasn’t pleasant at all all. One member tried to help while the other over ruled her and told her not to.
- 3/5
The hotel was clean, had everything we needed, and was conveniently located. However, the roosters on the property woke us up at 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and the surrounding neighbors in other rooms were very loud when they unloaded into their rooms around 11:00 p.m. Were it not for our very poor sleep we would have given a higher score.
- 5/5
Just passing through on the way home. Area was awesome and the hotel was awesome. Great food and drinks.
- 2/5
The rooms are very run down & old. The water drains are slow. Only one ice machine worked & it was on the far side of the complex. The restaurant they advertise is not open (which was a major reason for our picking this hotel). The staff was friendly! There were a lot of chickens & crowing roosters around that were cute. Definitely not worth the price; we will not return.
- 3/5
In addition, they did away with the nice breakfast for a sub-par continental offering and they added a $2.99 "convenience charge" for paying with a credit card. Do most of their guests pay in cash by the hour???
- 4/5
This is a very nice little place but there is one big problem. There are many roosters on the property and they start crowing at 3:30-4:00 am.
- 5/5
This is a very charming hotel. It could probably benefit from some upgrades but it is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would come back in the future.
- 4/5
Thanks, love the roosters.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay!
- 3/5
I didn't like the way the staff was nonchalant. The rooms look old and outdated
- 5/5
Moteif, Parking, Friendly
- 3/5
The bed was dirty with hairs in it, and the overall room cleanliness was just average. My checkout time was at 11 a.m., but I was locked out of my room at 9 a.m. I had to go back and forth to the service desk multiple times to get the door key validated until 11 a.m. The breakfast was mediocre, offering only standard options like bagels and muffins, which weren’t fresh and seemed to be leftovers from previous days.
- 5/5
Southern Charm and historical locations
- 5/5
Very nice, very clean gem,
- 2/5
Lots of potential and remodeling is in progress. However, checkin was delayed an hour, the room was dirty, and the commercial dumpsters for the adjacent shopping center are emptied at 3:00am.
- 2/5
The Inn is under construction. The room was damaged and smelled like mold. Ceiling was stained by a roof leak. The toilet ran and ran. No breakfast as advertised. No food there at all. Roosters making lots of noise early in the morning. Front desk person was in a foul mood.
- 3/5
I was very amused by the chickens and roosters running around.
- 4/5
Mostly the cleaniless.
- 4/5
Very comfortable. Quiet and peaceful.
- 2/5
The lady at the front desk was very nice though for some reason they could not find my reservation which I showed her proof several times (the receipt on orbitz, my debit card charge, the text message and email) after about 30 minutes she finally let me into a room. Which was not what I booked but I let it go cause of the hurricane and the room was dirty and had centipedes in the bathroom killed a few. Then at 730 am we are awoken by a phone call which we didn’t get to in time we figured it was a wrong number. Then when we finally get back to sleep we get banging on our door at 8am demanding we give them our debit card to pay for the room which I told them I had showed her I already paid for her and gave her all my info showing it WAS PAID. I wouldn’t stay here again just the rudeness of being woke up so early would be a reason I wouldn’t stay 2/10

I suppose to had a king size bed and ended up with a queen

The cleanliness was on point. But they can keep the chicken and roosters all over the premises. Along with the chickens comes the flies!

This is a very historic hotel in Albany and I’m pleased to see it’s getting some TLC with new ownership. The Manor House Pub is a must visit with Allen and Joel being staples that bring me back year after year!

The rooms were extremely clean! The customer service was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The area was peaceful! I will definitely be back again when needed. Will also recommend to friends and family for future visits. Highly satisfied!

Nice quiet place to stay central to the city. Best place in the city to stay.

That 50’s motel feel with chickens scratching in the flower beds- clean room, updated amenities, lots of trees

Pool was out of service and that was one of the main reason we chose Merry Acres. The A/C unit in our room was dismal at best. Coffee maker in our room took FOREVER to make one cup and then overflowed. Upon arrival, the ice bucket had melted water in it from previous usage. The complimentary breakfast is basically frozen food that must be microwaved. Nothing freshly made. The television is to small for the size of the room. On a positive note, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Property definitely needs upgrading!

From the reviews and pictures I was expecting a pretty little inn off that held wedding receptions, etc. The pictures are very misleading. The "Inn" is on a main road, and the rooms are behind the main inn picture in a motor court style. There is a lot of construction going on. The room had a sticky floor and the bathroom tub had at least 2 different layers of peeling paint, a leaking faucet, as well as water damage to the door and surrounding areas. There was no closet door and I could hear the people in the adjacent room. There was not a good seal on the main door to the room so light and air streamed in. The cherry on top was the ROOSTER and other chickens living on the property that woke me up around 5:30 am each morning. The hotel was a stop to break up a trip I had to make from FL to AL, otherwise I would have left after the first night.

When we arrived the office was under construction and it wasn't convenient to register. The pool was also under construction and were not able to use it. There was no prior notice of the construction. The king bed was comfortable but the room was in need of updates. It was also not as clean as you would expect for the price. Two roosters and many chickens roamed the property which didn't bother us but I can see how some people would object. The location was close to a very nice brewery and the Flint River park.

After the first night, internet never worked again for the duration of the stay.

It was nice and quiet for the most part. Doing renovations so things are out of sorts right now. Everyone was very friendly but not much of breakfast to speak of

Great place. Quiet. Character.
