I did not understand at first that this hotel chain can be considered transitional housing. Apparently, some people live there. This hotel does not fit the normal hotel model you would expect. For example, seeing housekeepers maintain the rooms on a daily basis does not occur here. Here is a list of things we observed: The room had dust balls everywhere. Roomkeys will fail several times. I was in line with 2 others, and we all had failed key cards. Residents like to leave the back door to the building propped open. I consider this a security problem. We saw two cars with broken glass on one night. The property warns you to keep valuables out of sight. Keep your car as empty as possible! There are non-operational cars at the property taking up parking spaces. I can tell because they have flat tires. The Way dot com service is taking up several convenient parking spaces close to the entrance, with signs that they will tow if you park there. The refrigerator in our room did not really work. No USB outlets anywhere. The toilet in our room would not flush even after the staff tried to fix it twice. The staff ultimately gave us another room to use. Fortunately, the AC blows really cold. They have exercise equipment and a laundry room.

I have been trying to get a refund on the stay because I walked out right after checking in because the state of the room and overall property was terrible. It was not maintained, the carpets were stinking. The people at the property told us that it was unsafe to park our car outside as it would definitely get broken into.

Worst hotel ever. The pictures online are deceiving. I booked for 3 nights and checked out the next day. It was dirty and smelled like cigarettes.

This hotel looked great from the outside; great location, recently painted, nicely landscaped, decent parking area. But inside, the rooms are dated and well used. The kitchenettes have old Formica counters, very old stoves, and no dishes/utensils unless you ask. The bathroom was nothing special, with only two sets of towels, which were small, well used and ordinary. Also, only two pillows available for the bed; I guess that is their favorite number. The breakfast is very limited prepacked cold carbs with coffee; the instant oatmeal was ok. The kicker for our trip, though, was our vehicle being broken into on our second night. Another guest had their vehicle broken into the same night. Staff offered zero assistance, and no suggestions on following up with law enforcement, which frankly, being so close to Oakland, they had their hands full and never appeared. No cameras outside, at least not in this corner of the lot. We had noticed some shady individuals the night previous but ignored them, assuming the best. We were wrong. It also appeared the night before that some of the staff seemed to know at least one of the individuals; but I prefer to not read too much into that. I thought the price per night for a weekend was too good to be true, but, as I should have known better, you get what you pay for. Can not recommend.

I felt in the middle of the night after neighbors were being loud. Front desk switched rooms for me upstairs. Upstairs was much worse there was someone yelling and it sounded scary so I didn’t even go into that next room. I felt unsafe. I slept in my car that night.

The “breakfast” was coffee or black tea, chocolate muffins, and granola-type bars. Nothing fresh. I brought my own food for breakfast knowing there was a kitchenette. The challenge there was that it had no cups, plates, or utensils. To add to the experience, the walls and ceiling are very thin so you hear people walking about or people in the next room. And, due to it’s proximity to the airport, the sounds of jets taking off is very loud and begins before 6:00AM. The staff was fine, but didn’t make up for the less than average facility and amenities. I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects more comfort.

The grab and go breakfast nothing for diabetic people really, and some people are allergic to blueberries. As far as the room goes, 3 pillow for two people. Plus super hard mattress. The flooring in the bathroom by the tub was coming up too

Stayed for a night. Bed was comfy, shower worked. Hotel is a bit run down and not sure if I will get my security deposit back since it hasn’t hit my account yet but did the job for a night.

- 4/5
I loved the location of the hotel. It's tucked away in the city. The area is quiet, the room is nice it has a kitchen and a very spacious living room area. if you need a quite place to stay and are looking for a deal this is a great room.

Everything was great except for you needed more towels in your room and you had an ironing board but no iron. Kossandra was an excellent host

Noisy at night… weird guests loudly throwing up in their rooms. You step outside the room and the corridor stanknof marijuana. Overall very disappointing and depressing. 1 star for the sweet staff. Else wouldn’t give that either.

The positive was the staff was friendly and understood the facility is subpar.

- 5/5
Quiet, easy to find, staff were friendly
- 1/5
The hallways and rooms smelled like stale cigarettes. The bed linens were stiff and made my skin itch. Despite providing full kitchens, there are no ice machines or kitchen supplies in the rooms. You have to request a set of kitchen dishes, cups, utensils etc from the front desk. Front desk staff told me that they didn't have any that were clean; and, there was no urgency on indication that they planned on having clean ones anytime soon. Front desk staff seemed generally apathetic and were not particularly helpful.
- 4/5
Karnal & Lucy wonderful service. Housekeeping staff very friendly and good. Need Coffee every morning available and on time as advertised.
- 4/5
Free parking
- 2/5
hallways and breakfast area was dirty. Property does not have an airport shuttle inspire of listing airport in property name. Seems to be a site for community housing. There is a reason this is the least expensive in the airport area.
- 2/5
Smelled like smoke just walking in the hotel.
- 1/5
Poorly maintained property. Very disappointing.

No the room wasn't in good condition I had to change rooms twice the first room there was no stove, the towel rack was off the wall and the heater and air conditioner didn't work. The second room the next day when I checked out I had bug bites all over my body .soeith.bedbefbugs or fleas.
- 3/5
Following day before leaving, I went to get a quick & grab breakfast around 7:45AM that this property offers. There was a very limited selection of breakfast items available, only chocolate muffins, 1 Nutrigrain Fruit Bar, only 2 flavors of instant oatmeal, black tea, hot chocolate & coffee. I suggest maybe offering more flavors of muffins, oatmeal like cinnamon apple and more than just 1 fruit bars. Or offer more options like cereal, Pop Tarts, toast, turnovers, fruit, or juice. Parking in the back of the property is really dark. It would be nice if it was lit up a little bit more like it is in the front parking lot area. I did see a security car pull up while I was leaving around 8:10 AM. There was no other problems besides what I mentioned earlier. It's very quiet area & I enjoyed having a full size refrigerator & microwave. I wished the room had been inspected like the sign on the mirror says it does a 5 Steps process or was given another room. Anyways, I hope if I return I have a better experience.

- 3/5
It’s a studio apartment. Would be wonderful for a multi week business trip. Not so much for overnight. No bath mat; no shampoo; no laundry bag. Breakfast was just one kind of muffin. It was high quality but seriously. Fire alarm during the night, which worked very well, but no PA system; no staff member to meet us outside. Decent location near the airport and food choices.
- 4/5
Safe neighborhood
- 5/5
Very nice stay
- 5/5
It was good.
- 4/5
Was a great stay but room 336 needs maintenance. Both sinks and shower had very slow draining. Taking a shower the water was past my ankles before i got out. And the seal for the tube to the floor needs redone. Water getting under the floor.
- 1/5
This hotel is a dump. Other than the courteous check in, everything else is bad, bad, bad. Noisy elevator, worn/ dirty carpet, old furniture and appliances, loose shower fixture. Breakfast is a joke. The bottom of the bathroom door appears to have been chewed up by a dog. Please avoid the bad experience. Pay a little extra and use hotels closer to the airport. Extended Stay should be embarrased to list this property.
- 3/5
The staff and parking were great. The hotel hall smelled off. The rooms are spacious but damage. Our sofa had homes in it and the desk chair had cuts all over it. We brought our dog and he had lots of space to walk around outside. But people don’t pick up after their dogs so there is poop all over. Some of it has been there a very long time.
- 1/5
Filthy walls, furniture and bathroom. Stains and substances smeared. Gross. Dirty common areas.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful during my stay.
- 5/5
The staff was great and the room was very clean.
- 2/5
The hotel was okay for a quick stay. When I got there, no one was at the front desk—I had to wait a couple minutes before someone came out from the back after tossing some sheets in the washer. No greeting, just took my info, asked a few questions, and pointed me to my room. The room itself was fine, nothing fancy. I wouldn’t recommend it for a long stay, but it works if you just need a place for the night.
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly and helpful since we were a half hour late checking out. But, overall it was a very good place for the price.
- 5/5
Check in was easy and quick

All good
- 5/5
All I can say is, I was really Empress, with everything. Cleanness, Parking, Where they placed me, all in all, I loved everything, and that's why I booked another stay
- 1/5
Would not recommend this hotel at all. The front desk service was poor. The room itself looked rundown. We did not have more than a couple of towels left for us when we asked for extra blankets and pillows. at the front desk, the front desk person did not seem motivated to get anything for us. The sofa bed mattress was disgustingly, dirty, and worn out. Did not feel safe in the hotel because at 4 am heard someone near our door yelling profanities. will never stay at an Extended StayAmerica ever again.

- 1/5
I would like to say that the information received over the phone did not know the correct system and left me and my family in a very difficult situation. We were unable to stay there due to misinformation. It was stated that these were canceled
- 2/5
I was required to PAY upon check in, not just put a credit card on file. Never heard this kind of practice before!?
- 2/5
Construction in the hotel kept me from enjoying my stay. There is also no A/C or heat or even a fan in the room. Very disappointing for $250 a night.
- 3/5
Subpar property. No real food options. The airport is next door so airplanes are overhead all day and night. The staff isn’t 24 hours and they don’t clean your room unless you ask. Weird stay.
- 4/5
Close to OAK. Reasonable rate.
- 1/5
They charge a $100 deposit that was stated when booking the room. I traveled alone with no issues was told I would be receiving my deposit back and did not....2 of the lamps in my room didn't work and there was a hair on the towel in the bathroom. Be careful this place will rip u off!!!
- 1/5
On the booking site it says breakfast included, but its not breakfast its a catch to get you to stay there, very bad coffee.
- 4/5
Staff is friendly, especially Erin. I’ve stayed here twice this month, and it is located close to dining and the airport, but far enough to avoid the problems associated with Oakland.
- 5/5
No issues as long as I get my security deposit back in a timely manner
- 3/5
The room felt unclean and the tile floor was very sticky. Not having shampoo seemed a bit extreme and inconvenient to have to request when you check in late. A plastic cup would have been great but even that was non-existent. The breakfast was cold coffee and stale breakfast bars.
- 4/5
Clean and staff are freindly
- 2/5
No Shampoo no conditioner
- 2/5
Room requested king (or 2 queens) not availble. Room given (1 queen) was in very poor repair. No shampoo, no cups, TV from 90's, looked like someone took a baseball bat to the TV stand, couch was not comfortable and... The room was same price as many other competitive hotels chosen due to no cost for parking. In hindsight, I would have gladly paid added $20 for nicer place.
- 5/5
My Beloved and I stayed in two other motels before discovering this one (on a 10 day visit from Hawaii, where we live...) I wish we would have discovered this place first because it was, by far, the best of the three! And so close to the airport made returning a rental car outrageously easy! Rooms were spacious and clean and well lit. I found the color schemes they used (in our room, anyway...) to be quite pleasing...calming, even. we only ended up staying one night here because our trip was ending but I wish we'd spent the entirety of our stay here. Thank you Extended Stay America Suites Oakland Alameda Airport for providing an excellent and welcoming stay! We'll be sure to recommend this place to friends and to definitely stay here again when visiting the East Bay.
- 1/5
The level of cleanliness is underrated. We asked for someone to come to our room and take a mop to remove all the sticky substances on the floors and whomever came in did such a poor job that it made zero difference if they had actually redone the floors. The third floor smelled like nothing but weed which was horrible.
- 5/5
I always love this place. Quiet , good location and spacious room.
- 1/5
Room smelled completely like smoke towels dirty just didn’t feel clean at all
- 5/5
Having an entire kitchen blew me away!! It was perfect because we traveled with cooked food that did not have to be wasted thanks to the full sized refrigerator in the room!!
- 3/5
Close to airport. Case goods need replacement. Breakfast not restocked with advertised items once ran out.
- 5/5
Always love staying here
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. Staff were nice and very helpful. Definitely recommend
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and knowledgeable
- 5/5
Room was comfortable. Nice and clean . I front desk was more than helpful.
- 1/5
My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The management was unresponsive, and while the staff were kind, there clearly weren’t enough of them to properly handle housekeeping. There was no breakfast provided, and when I requested towels, I was told I had to go downstairs to get them myself instead of having them delivered to the room. Given the poor service and lack of basic amenities, I believe a full refund is warranted.
- 2/5
The hotel had a horrible smell upon entering and the room did as well which caused me to get a stuffy nose which caused me to get a room in another hotel I could not sleep in the room I got. I didnt ask for another room, I assumed this smell whatever it was , was through out.
- 3/5
The staff was very nice and helpful. The couch bed was so worn it made it very uncomfortable to sleep on. Other then the uncomfortable bed an

Clean and staff great
- 5/5
Pretty nice place for the price. Ive paid higher nightly rates in multiple places in Oakland/Alameda and they weren't as nice and a few even came with unexpected bloodsucking bedmates that didnt even include a happy ending. No bedbugs or roaches in an Oakland area motel is like a mansion. Praise Buddha.
- 5/5
Nice room in the cut lol very spacious. Perfect location out the way.
- 5/5
Service was amazing. Front desk was helpful and kind. Check in was easy. The room was pretty clean.
- 3/5
Place did not live up to rating or proximity to the Airport as it was still an $18 ride and hotel had no shuttle. Asked for a quite room and was given 325 but ended up with tennant across the hall that wanted to turn up music and crank the base. After second call they had him move or leave, not sure which. Window in room would not close all the way. no shampoo in the bathroom.
- 4/5
The location near the Oakland Airport was excellent for the price. It was easy to get to and return my rental car in the morning. Some amenities like shampoo were lacking. There were no places to eat nearby. The desk attendant had other things to do and was not always there. I was concerned to find a rock wedged under one of the outside entry doors apparently to keep the door open. But overall I was happy with my one night stay at Extended Stay Oakland Airport.
- 1/5
We paid for a non smoking suit for 3 nights. The guy at the front desk tried to charge me a $100 cash deposit fee even though I paid and booked online. When we got there the room smelt like weed so bad. The toilet was clogged and would not flushed, we called the front desk multiple times and they said maintenance wouldn’t be there until Monday morning. They finally agreed after 2 nights to switch us to a different room. We bought a water from there vending machine and the machine took our money and didn’t give us our drink, we told the front desk and they just gave us a phone number to call, we called the number and the lady said there was nothing they could do since we paid with debt and hung up on us. We asked for extra pillows and blankets and they said they had no pillows. The customer service was terrible and they had no urgency or care for their guest.
- 3/5
It was ok. Check in experience could have been better.
- 3/5
Mmm I don’t like the extra deposit of 100 it wasn’t worth it going to this one. The other extended stay America suite in alameda is better.

- 2/5

- 4/5
Reliable.
- 3/5
Check in was very good. Toilet had pee on front outside of bowl. Breakfast was a package chocolate muffin and breakfast bar.
- 1/5
Needed a one night stay for an early flight out the next day. It is close to the airport but that is about all it has. The first room we were given was a smoking room. We switched to a non smoking room which was better but the carpet needs to be removed. Super old and dirty. Ripped next to tile in the bathroom. The entire night we were awake hearing the people above us jump and run around. Would not recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
I slipped in the bath tub and almost broke my leg and so, I think you should have bath tub mats to prevent things like this. My left leg is still bruised and sore from this fall.
- 3/5
- 4/5
Nice location
- 1/5
Dirty. Sketchy. No accountability. House cleaners ok rooms for customers. They DO NOT take their job seriously. Training. Termination would be the best solution. It shouldn't take a customer 3 rooms before choosing a room that would be acceptable. Medication found in refrigerator. What do they do? Are they short handed? Are standards compromised and accepted by management. There are other places in the vicinity. They do not have this problem.
- 5/5
great service and clean room!
- 4/5
hotel was quiet and appeared safe/secure. however, it seemed virtually unstaffed to us. there was rarely ever anyone at the front desk, and we never heard housekeeping. the woman who checked us in was jittery and erratic and seemed to me like she was on something. the lobby also reeked of weed upon arrival, but that was the only time we smelled it. they offer “breakfast” but it’s only nutrigrain bars and prepackaged mini muffins. there was also a suspicious dark red stain outside of our door that didn’t bode well. no shampoo or conditioner so PLEASE plan to bring your own. no extra bedding for the pullout bed despite the fact that they knew we had multiple people booking the room. overall poor service and amenities, but the room was clean and we were able to stay our four nights here peacefully so it averages out into being just okay.
- 2/5
Not so good not AC or heating the windows didn’t close all the way so it was freezing. The night lady was helping but she couldn’t fix it and the manager seemed to always be gone. Room didn’t look like it had been cleaned they said they would move us to a different room but never did.

- 5/5
Amit was particularly helpful at the front desk. Very clean good property room nicely furnished.
- 1/5
Service is not good.no housekeeping available. When asked for change of towels, was told to bring down ourselves the dirty towels. Limited room hotel necessities available in rooms.
- 5/5
This is one of two properties that I stay in the area when I'm visiting my grandkids. Nice and quiet. Airport close by but can I hear planes which is a plus.
- 3/5
Nobody at the front desk whenever I passed, required to use after hours number during normal hours. No dishes or cooking supplies, had to ask specifically for them which again was a pain because there was nobody at the front desk. Room smelled like stale cat piss, trash under bed but otherwise was clean. Bed comfortable. No resistance equipment in gym. Laundry room was functional and clean. Bare minimum continental breakfast, no fruit or protein and no dishes to eat cereal in. Slow WiFi, available fast WiFi for purchase. No shampoo or conditioner. Overall not bad but so disappointed when I pay more than bare minimum price and get bare minimum amenities/service
- 3/5
The heater didn’t work. Cobwebs in the ceiling corners. Microwave subpar. Refrigerator wasn’t cold enough.
- 4/5
3 persons - only had bedding for main bed. Should have had extra for pull out. it was so uncomfortable 3rd person just slept on couch. Surprised there were no amenites other than towels and soap. Complaiint was no address on building to find it!

- 1/5
Worst place I’ve ever been, my pullout couch didn’t have a mattress, the room had a foul at odor, the carpet was burned and paint was chipped everywhere and the complimentary breakfast was a muffin or coffee
- 5/5
The place was great!!
- 4/5
The only thing was that something was chewing on end of the carpet. They was couple of rodent poop on the stove.
- 3/5
I like that it was in back of the airport so I was in a secluded area. It’s a decent hotel. It’s pretty clean. It is a little rundown, but it suited all my needs.
- 3/5
Service was very friendly I will say. It was a roof over our head, but they definitely need to work on cleaning a bit more thoroughly. I saw dirt spots on the nightstands and countertop. Hallway smelled of weed. Dirty carpet.
- 1/5
There were mice in my room.
- 3/5
Excellent rooms and very easy access to main roads if you’re there for work. I did not like that breakfast was not included on any of the mornings I was there and the hotel did not make any concessions such as free water or fruit.
- 2/5

Very clean, but a disappointing stay. Had to change rooms because of noise / no coffee in the room // NO coffee at breakfast / only small muffins Hotels.com listed this WITH breakfast !! it does not offer.

Business trip for three days had me busy but the front desk clerk (Erin) was on point with hospitality services. Made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, and some were rude and/or indifferent. The bed was comfortable. They advertise full kitchens, but no dishes or cookware or silverware to be found... had to ask to even get a couple of bowls to make oatmeal. No lounge area or chairs to sit in lobby and the room with the grab and go breakfast was locked. Wouldn't stay again.
